Nimmi-san is still what?
(Shinsekai Yori thread)
I just finished watching this literally now, good timing /a/non.
Was there a plot point for the Yaoi/Yuri amount in this or was that just part of the genre?
>3 SSY threads today randomly.
Probably an excuse for the author to show how open sexuality is in this setting
Well to be fair, I didn't see those other SSY threads and had a legitimate question that I couldn't find anywhere
Is the Novel finished? Does anyone know if it is worth a read and continue on or at anything note worthy that the anime didn't touch on?
Did you skip some episodes, or are you just trolling?
It was a single episode of gay and the plot point for it was mentioned a couple of episodes before.
Its a stress relief mechanism genetically implanted into them to stop them from becoming ... what did they call them? Fiends I think.
Was it something to do with those monkey,s Bomboms or something, I don't really remember.
I think what is being asked is why did it have to be yaoi and yuri, and not just straight couples
Damn it people, this is seriously bothering me, what happened here?
SSY in a nutshell. Felt like half of the show was made of close up shots of Saki's eyes. Amateurish and cheap as hell.
Is this the scene where that one person is supposed to escape, right? If you go and look back during that scene, you are shown several times the river and how it's dry, then you are shown the watermill and the song starts playing. How did it play when there was no water to power it up? Because Niimi-san went back there and sacrificed himself so he could warn the others.
He lied to them, he didn't escape, he went there and did it anyway.
You're on to something there.
This wasn't explained in the anime, but they the kids are actually not allowed to have sex with someone of the opposite gender, they're obligated to keep it strictly platonic. On the other hand, if they're horny, they're totally allowed to fuck someone of the same gender.
Mamoru probably had a low sex drive, or just stuck with it because he didn't want to be unfaithful to Maria, and the stress caused him to start being the target of the cats. If he had been a proper bonobo, nothing wrong would have happened.
But before he left me made that speech about following tomiko's orders and that if his warning could save one life it wasn't wasted or something. I thought they understood that, or am I missing something?
I finished watching this too. What is going on?
squealer was right
Thank god. I thought I was going crazy. When did this finally blow up?
That makes a lot of sense, thank you
It's been long since I saw it so I don't remember quite right. Saki thought he would actually escape to safety after they argued about it, she realized what was going on just before the music ended abruptly (symbolizing his death).
>Liberals brainwash children to be gay
it's just like real life
It's central to the setting and how the interpersonal relationships developed in the story.
Remember the best bro of them all
>not allowed to have sex with someone of the opposite gender
Mmhhh. But Saki and Satoru were about to have sex when imprisoned by the foreign rats.
It was explained that they were genetically programmed to have sex whenever the felt stress.
>mfw /a/ thought he was gonna betray them all
no, the guy betrayed his people, made their revolution fail and doomed thousands of his race to death and the rest to eternal servitude.
He is a traitor to his people.
Kiroumaru was loyal to his own colony more than the humans, but squealer took his colony away from him, he had nothing left but revenge on squealer and his loyalty to the humans.
Except the only reason his colony was destroyed in the first place was because they were aligned with the humans and the old feudal servitude system, making them enemies of the revolution.
Well for some reason there was very heavy handed implications in the episodes/previews leading up to it.
Pacing kinda got fucked near the end.
Also his colony wasn't completely destroyed, only its army was. the queen was still alive and those who stayed behind in the colony survived aswell.
Is there even anything noticeable difference between regular and BD release?
obviously the resolution
They are already out, but they had some extra stuff or something so UTW is going through them again. Hopefully it'll be out in a couple of month or so, at least that was the last ting I heard.
As I said, noticeable. Higher resolution is nice and all but its not a deal-breaker or something.
I meant things like Extra scenes, decensors etc.
I would kill for some Maria tits
Google it? A lot of things were redone.
>out in a couple of month or so
>Last set of releases from UTW was almost a year ago
I think they just forgot about it.
I googled it, no relevant results for Shinsekai Yori Blu-ray comparison. its all either links to buy the blurays, UTWs page about the coming blu-ray and reviews about the anime itself.
It's a society built on love and acceptance so to minimize the chances of a fiend being created. They tried to model their society after the bonobos monkeys. Were you paying attention? It's kind of a hard thing to miss.
summon Daiz and hope
I don't even think it's translated.
That society is the farthest from liberalism imaginable.
I'm a master at getting information by lurking IRC, and I remember some UTW guy saying it's being QCed at the moment. Apparently over half of the episodes are done (the already released episodes will be getting v2'd).
Unfortunately, the guy QCing is also playing that KanColle game 24/7, which is the main reason for the delays. But there's been some time since I saw this mentioned, so something might've happened since then.
>implying racial obligations should trump one's own decisions.
When it comes to the survival of your entire fucking race, then yes. I'd says its your obligation to ensure its survival.
If you're too much of a coward to fight then dont fight, but dont fucking sabotage your own race's chance at freedom and survival.
I'm thinking because Giant Hornets were so loyal to humans, they'd be killed along with humans. At least with humans he could try to negotiate that their family lives. And if you think Kyoumaru could negotiate with Squealer, you are forgetting that the two hate one another.
>And if you think Kyoumaru could negotiate with Squealer, you are forgetting that the two hate one another.
Because Kyoumaru was a stubborn person, stuck in the old feudal ways. he didnt have the balls to oppose the system of slavery and start a new world.
I admit Squealer was a deceitful one, wouldn't trust him. but I wont doom my race to slavery just because of that. would've been better to free the bakenezumi first and then depose Squealer.
Kyoumaru is a caricature of an old samurai. To him staying loyal and honorable to humans was the right path. He was raised to be loyal to humans and at the end so more benefit for his people to remain loyal to humans.
>To him staying loyal and honorable to humans was the right path.
the right path? being so subservient? a tool? a puppet? a slave?
He himself admitted this is path will lead to the death of his race, thats why he was on the earlier Tokyo expedition. thats why they sought WMDs.
>He was raised to be loyal to humans and at the end so more benefit for his people to remain loyal to humans.
So his little colony survived to keep living as slave labor for the Cantus users, until one day, the Cantus users abuse their powers once more and discard that colony for some silly, mundane reasons. then Squealer's successor will rise up and the cycle will begin anew.
That's a samurai for you. To him, death while remaining loyal to humans is much better than siding with the devious. Besides he was already technically at war with Squealer. And here's the thing, he survived where squealer and his tribe died. That's what the primary focus of the queerats seemed to be, and Kyoumaru succeeded.
>That's a samurai for you.To him, death while remaining loyal to humans is much better than siding with the devious
Its also a stupid choice.
>Besides he was already technically at war with Squealer
Like I said before, its only because he is bullheaded, stuck in the old ways of slavery.
> he survived where squealer and his tribe died.
His tribe survived only to be a slave.
and the only reason Squealer failed was because of Kyoumaru intervened. if he had helped Squealer or atleast kept out of it he would've lived to see a free and grand bakenezumi Empire.
So Mamoru was close to turning into a fiend too?
That isn't the only reason Squealer failed. Kyoumaru helped a whole lot but it doesn't mean without him they would have failed. It is almost certain one way or another, dying or living, those three could have stopped the messiah, whether with cave-in, flooding, or hell, anthrax.
Fan translation is being released bit by bit
