Can we agree that the Shingeki no Kyojin (aka Attack on Titan) anime was a good adaptation of the manga and well worth it ?
The anime made Levi look like a trying hard badass.
No it wasn't. It had its good parts but it was mediocre overall. The manga is much better.
It could have been much, much better, but it kind of lived up to its hype. How popular was SnK before the anime was announced? I remember seeing threads about the manga pretty often, but I never bothered to check it out.
It was ok I guess.
Decent manga and anime adaptation with annoying fanbase just like SAO.
Absolutely. The best thing that could happen to moe haremshit ridden anime of the past 10 years. It has proven that anime can exist and be successful aside from the niche Otaku pandering faggotry void.
The manga itself is decent, but the anime had terrible pacing and loads of QUALITY.
I really liked it, but the fanbase really make me wanna kill myself
The manga is absolutely fantastic, what didn't you like about it ?
I liked it mostly, it was if nothing else, vary well animated. But of coarse now that I say that I'm sure someone will come along and post one frame where a characters mouth was inhumanly open or something
It ruined the fanbase.
It seems more like the next Naruto cancer with every day.
It was well worth it, but it could be really better as an adaptation.
That being said, I'm still hyped as fuck for the second season, whenever that happens.
Do something about that shit taste of yours.
It's pretty easy to be better than the manga. It has horrid pacing and art.
The anime also had well above average music which helps.
fanbase quality should not be an indicator of the quality of a show, your just a faggot for not being able to separate the two
>It ruined the fanbase.
The fanbase didn't change one bit. It just got bigger.
Yeah it is.
I didn't like it. The two things that a show needs for me to enjoy it really is good pacing and interesting characters, this had neither.
Soundtrack was good though.
I'm gonna save the drawing.Thanks
But it isn't
When fanbases get bigger, they also get worse.
Are you new to how fanbases work?
But on the same time, the fanbase got both worse and better.
There are more people, so there are more retards, sure, but there's also more porn.
no problem anon
>so there are more retards
these retards post the same shit retards before the anime posted.
I hope you're an animeonlyfag, else you disgust me.
The pacing was pretty bad though, I agree completely.
There is one similar for many other characters.
The hatedom also increases when a fanbase gets bigger. It is known.
Wait don't tell me, you are a retard who hates Eren, Mikasa, Armin and Levi and thinks the crappy arc they are barely in is the best.
>fanbase quality should not be an indicator
You're right, it *should not*. But look at the people who love the restaurant Taco Bell.
Then look at Taco Bell.
When people refer to the fanbase, I don't think they mean the fanbase in /a/.
The problem is that casuals started liking it, and they decided that it's a good idea to cosplay the characters horribly and other retarded stuff casuals do with their animu.
I like Armin and Mikasa as characters, and I'm slowly starting to like Levi, but only lately.
Eren still a shit.
No, I like Mikasa and Armin, and my favorite arc was Utgard and the kidnapping after that.
Levi has potential but I wouldn't mind if he died.
>The hatedom also increases when a fanbase gets bigger. It is known.
And yet something as fucking huge as JoJo only has a few vocal haters on /a/ and even those are just random shitposters who usually get their posts deleted quickly or nobody simply replies to their baits.
>inb4 it's shit
>inb4 you're shit
I've met many people that hate JJBA, even in person.
They just don't care enough to tell anyone and force their opinion on others.
They just didn't like it, and that's all.
On the contrary, the people who hate SnK are really vocal and get mad easily.
>liking gay shit
When I started reading SnK I thought it was awesome till Annie didn't die and asspulled into a crystal, then I thought it was only okay, now I'm kinda just reading it because I like Mikasa and Armin.
JoJo has been a major success for years, it didn't have a popularity burst like SnK did.
Do you still see Bleach or Naruto hate threads around, at least here on /a/?
After a while, haters get fed up of trolling the fanbase and become less and less vocal. Now they are trolling the SnK fanbase because SnK has become really popular just few months ago, but I don't really remember any "ITT we discuss how much SnK sucks" threads before the anime started airing.
if you can't separate the show and the fanbase, that's your fault, not the shows
yes. made the manga look like a very bad fan art
wall reveal was worse in the anime
So is it true there's gonna be a second season? I stopped before the last two episodes when I learnt the anime ends early
yeah the last episode was shit
>Do you still see Naruto hate threads around, at least here on /a/?
You mean you don't?
Anyway, I agree with the rest of your post, SnK is currently getting love from everywhere so it's fun to hate, just like EVA was back in the day.
I would agree if there had actually been a reveal.
You are the moron, it happens in the last 5 seconds after the credits
>implying anyone disagrees
The last two episodes were shit, it's a fact.
Hopefully they'll remake the wall reveal in the second season.
still not announced but cince it sold really well it makes sense they'd make another.
Haven't even read the manga yet but I agree. The titans are walls thing was stupid as fuck
>The last two episodes were shit, it's a fact.
I personally liked the filler scene with Annie Vs Mikasa
It was fine up until the last couple of episodes
From episode 1 until when Eren blocks the hole in the wall was great, but after that they really fucked up, there were a lot of disappointing scenes and bad quality.
Shit adaption, shit series. You'll never get a season 2 either, since it had an anime original ending.
>anime original ending
You're the perfect example of a person who has no idea what he's talking about.
>anime original ending
But there is so much unexplained and hinted at, r u retarded?
no episode 21 was the best episode of the whole series
But that's not episode 17.
Are you telling me there's still people here who actually believe Naruto is good? Also, I haven't noticed any Naruto shitposting threads on /a/ lately, just few Naruto generals.
No, I meant that there are still many Naruto troll threads.
Not as many as after the Naruto moot disaster, but still a lot.
I doubt there are people who believe it's good.
Nah, the biggest moron would be the one believing the post credits teaser was the actual reveal - AKA you.
Some people were so convinced the wall are titans scene was going to feature in the last episode they kept thinking so, even when it didn't.
Don't mistake the nod they put at the end of the credits for the actual scene - it's obviously going to happen in S2. Clearly the director didn't think it would be a good idea to have the scene in the last episode and I can see multiple reasons for that - one being it wouldn't have been possible to actually END the series (even temporarily) while keeping the scene, since the story picks up again right from that point. Instead he chose to change the order in which the scenes are presented to allow S1 to have a conclusive ending, while keeping the possibility of picking back up right where they left if S2 ever happens.
But you're obviously too thick to even begin to figure that out and would rather go MUH WALL REVEAL instead.
Nah, they messed up the fight between Annie and Eren. That's the one scene they should have put their budget into but they wasted it animating Mikasa in the scene right after that.
>animation budget spent on Mikasa
You have a point.
So you're positive that they'll start the second season from the part where the wall crumbled?
>You're a moron because you said the scene that happened happened and I think it didn't count based on nothing but my own hope it doesn't count
Except ending the first season with the very same image from the manga, Mikasa looking at the Titan in the wall would have been perfect.
Nah, they raped some very important scenes.
Marco's death was better on the manga. Levi Squad death was also better on the manga, and better paced.
WIT tried to make it look edgy and shit, as a manga reader, I'm disappointed.
JoJo already had a strong preexisting fan base before the anime started. It would be like trying to troll NGE, you can't do it.
I feel like the anime pacing was really slow, but that might be because I caught up with the manga in a day.
>It would be like trying to troll NGE, you can't do it
People did it a lot before 2008 though. It was like a trend.
>It would be like trying to troll NGE, you can't do it.
So, which scenes will they fuck up in the second season?
The BR reveal is one for sure, but what else?
As positive as I think having all the training flashbacks gathered at the beginning instead of having them scattered along wasn't such a bad idea.
Since they didn't actually show the wall are titans scene yet, there's a high possibility S2 will pick back up right after Annie's fall. I'd say it's going to be even better pace wise, since they already got the infirmary and Erwin scenes out of the way (which made for a good, conclusive way of ending the anime for the time being). They're free to pick back up from the wall reveal and go right ahead with Hanji and Pastor Nick.
In fact it makes so much sense it's probably why Araki did it as he did. But some people are too narrow minded and stuck up to even consider this, and would rather grief because their dear "reveal" was fucked. Bunch of morons, there has been no fucking reveal yet.
Can't wait to see these guys' faces when S2 starts and we get the scene in all its glory as the opening scene.
Am I the only one upset they changed the bedside Mikasa scene? I liked those panels where Armin gives her a wave and she is embarrassed. I liked that scene, it was about Armin and Mikasa frienship. Anime gave me some shitty Jean NTR crap, like I'm supposed to care about that nonsense.
It also happened in the manga though.
The anime just made it overly DRAMATIC as always.
It was annoying.
The Jean NTR was there in the manga as well, but it was subtle, since it didn't focus on him.
I'm mad too, anyway, they totally fucked up that scene because oh muh Eren/Mikasa shipping. The worst scene was the Ravioli rescue, though. Were the hell did he find a 3DMG which suited him(he even had the time to wear the SL cloak)?
Was he wearing it under his commoner's clothing just like superman, or what?
>In fact it makes so much sense it's probably why Araki did it as he did.
Though when an interviewer asked Araki about it, he was embarrassed and tried to avoid the question by blaming another assistant.
>Bunch of morons, there has been no fucking reveal yet.
>Can't wait to see these guys' faces when S2 starts and we get the scene in all its glory as the opening scene.
I really hope you're right and they'll remake the scene, and I really hope that they'll handle the second season nicely.
When do you think it will start, on summer or later?
You know that the same will happen to the reveal.
>Can't wait to see these guys' faces when S2 starts and we get the scene in all its glory as the opening scene.
And it won't be a surprise to anyone because they've already seen that huge hint after the credits. Besides, that scene was good because there was all this momentum behind it with Eren fighting Annie, and then suddenly a huge reveal out of nowhere. What they've done is throw a wrench in the middle of that. It makes no sense to have one of the biggest twists of the manga at the beginning of season 2 when people will be getting back into the story.
>Can we agree
of course not, dumbass.
That Boulder shit was 2 eps too long
Why am I laughing so hard.
The 3dmg scenes always take priority, it seems. I believe someone different was working on them.
no. The anime was an okay adaptation but shit with pacing and lacked material so they shoehorned in a recap every single episode to chew up air time. Its a great example of why you should wait til the source material is well past where you're going to end if you do it.
The source material was well past where they planned to stop dumbass. The recap stuff is just shonen being shonen.
Did Isayama have a seizure right after this scene?
His leg got better for a minute.
Probably just after the credits.
They're both shit.
Although the manga has more animation than the show itself.
Apologist pls go
They sure adapted it well.
>Look, I posted it again!
Could have been worse, but could have been better too.
Did you even watch the last 3 episodes?
Can you post the link to the interview?
It was a shit adaptation of a shit manga. I could handle the utility knives as weapons, but the transforming titans is just bullshit.
Worst part of the anime. Scenes and other shit drag on unnecessarily long, we have to hear everyone repeat how "they are so fucked!" every scene for 2 minutes straight. I have no idea what kind of person it takes to find this crap enjoyable.
The manga was decent (aside from the horrendous artwork) but the latest plot reveals have been even more full-retard than normal and the author admitted he is sabotaging his own writing now because he wants to make sure everybody is happy. Time to move on I guess before he gets even more retarded and abandons an early ending to pad shit out and ride the popularity.
Did you even read his interview or are you just parroting what trolls say?
>It was a shit adaptation
I hate how they ruined all the jokes. Araki is a talentless hack.
This was the thread where the anon asked those questions.
You have shit taste.
And the manga didn't, right?
More like they made him gay as fuck to appeal to fujoshi.
>made him gay as fuck
Go away tumblr
It was good, could have been better. Future animation adaptions from the series have a lot of potential now moving forward since it's making money out the ass.
>Araki is a talentless hack.
He's definitely not that great but I have feeling more than anything you just hate him because of his accomplishments. And the fact he was the director of arguably 2 of the biggest anime in the last decade
No, he isn't. How do you justify Death Note being such a success?
Here's how I look at Araki. He's like the
Michael Bay of anime. He can make you a shit-ton of money by pandering, good marketing and hype.
But at the cost of the show actually being directed and handled great.
Pretty much, he's just a really great marketer.
So he'd be much better off being a producer?
>because of his accomplishments
Like ruining Death Note ending? Or turning SnK into a borefest? Or fucking Guilty Crown? Are you a clown?
>the director of arguably 2 of the biggest anime in the last decade
Guy was very lucky to have his name associated with popular works. Pretty sure idiots are giving him undeserved credits that should go to the original authors.
I think his problem is that he is constantly in search of making the next block buster. GC just seemed like him throwing everything out on the table in hopes it would sale.
Are you a troll?
GC landed him his own studio. Guys had success for years. You can bitch moan about him all day. But at the end of the day he comes out successful.
Before the anime
>Manga is 10/10
>Everyday in One page threads
>Speculation threads everywhere
After the anime
>SnK is a gateway manga shit bla bla
>Isayama can't draw shit
>Threads are shipping tumblr stuff 90% of the times, only good threads are when new chapter is out
>Frodo is MIA, Jean is best Shingeki
And /a/ still says that they don't hate popular things just because they are popular, yes, sure.
Also, the anime was good the first half, second half was quite a bad adaptation. Too much filler and kinda original anime only end.
>I think his problem is that he is constantly in search of making the next block buster
That's my issue, the guy spends more energy trying to sell a product rather than tell a story, in the end his works are terribly inconsistent and rather superficial.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not arguing against his success. I just think like the other anon said. He's managed to grab popular adaptions before others and he's placed himself around the right people. Moving from Madhouse to I.G has been his best move of his career. And at the time he did it, I'm not even sure if he knew it would turn out that way.
The original shit kinda ruined it for me.
Not with it's ending.
The anime's pacing was absolutely horrid and kind of made it a chore to watch.
I dropped it halfway through anyway since I'd already read the manga.
They can only fix that shit with a movie. Only a movie can fix the last 3 episodes.
And it ends with S2 preview.
I'm not sure if it's published anywhere else, so just dropping it here even if it's stale
I read the manga first and think the anime was more enjoyable. Though some parts were shit, dragging out bolder eps, FLAME ON EREN, fucking up titan is in the walls, etc.
Well the director delivered on BD part. They look great so far. Maybe he can get his shit together for future adaptions.
>Shingeki no Kyojin (aka Attack on Titan)
this thread will end well
It was terrible and unnecesary.
/a/ is such a nice place full of understanding and thoughtful people, isn't it?
>titan is in the walls
That wasn't even in the anime ... was it?
The last couple of seconds of the last episode.
>the last couple of seconds
Does someone here have a pic or something? I deleted that shit from my HDD long ago.
Of course it wasn't.
You may miss them, but they still exist everyday
N-No, it wasn't.
I'm telling the truth, don't look for it.
>The walls are titans
That's where you drop this shit.
I thought about calling it the 3rd time, but I thought that you wouldn't be retarded enough to post it a third time.
I guess I was wrong.
>Implying I'm samefagging this.
No I just saw it posted above and decided to chime in.
WHERE ARE THE MODS WHEN YOU NEED THEM?
We can do this all day, but we're not still on kindergarten.
It's great shit.
A good adaption of a shit manga?
Is an abstract kind of shit.
A shit adaption to a shit shit.
Shit on a pile of shit.
And just when I thought that IRC weren't posting anymore.
Yes good goy believe in the IRC boogeymen.
They never give up.
you just blew your cover, did you realise it?
Dat brown Armin.
That whale on the right could pass as a Titan.
it's the shit
Now you're watching some fucking shit you're rather off watching shit that watching this fucking shit fuck this shit it's so bad it sucks it's so fucking suck it fucks it's bad it's a piece of shit
>the same cosplay pics IRC used
Yeah, and then you'll tell me that the thread isn't hijacked at all.
Still a better adaption than many manga get. Look at what they did to Magi in Season 1.
it's amazing. The biggest anime since eva
Anime pacing was terrible. Manga art is terrible but it has a certain charm. Ill take the manga over the anime any day.
A solid 7 out of 10, detracting problems dealing with things like thin characterization, unconvincing drama and the animation not being that great at times. SnK's manga artwork is sub-par, though, so the anime was an improvement all around visually.
It was structured better than the manga in the way certain events happened, I can say that for sure. I did see the anime first, however. I was surprisingly unaware of SnK's manga before the anime was announced.
The manga was good, stop being a hipster
JOJO is also what? 20 years old? /a/ is hipster as fuck. This is the first thing you have to realize about it.
I guess she ate too much potato.
Because no one else could ever get their hands on images on the internet.
I've watched a lot of anime and when I mean a lot I mean 20 different titles, and I can tell you this.
is it shit or is it shit?
Trying to make it some brown-and-bloom overdramatic opera singing nonsense out of this manga was a terrible choice. Every change was retarded and the pacing was terrible.
>"Why do we hate SNK guys?"
>"Can we agree that SNK was pretty awesome?"
>"Why don't we agree that SNk is the best anime in years"
Why do retards make these fucking threads?
>Why do retards make these fucking threads?
Who do you think won /a/ ?
>Why do retards make these fucking threads?
Because it's guaranteed that people will post in them.
Didn't you see how terrified of her Annie was?
>it's amazing. The biggest anime since eva
It's even bigger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQkgmHEA5_E
Whoa. Killing a show is really easy.
Mikasa she is my waifu xD so it's obvious!
why can /a/ never be a nice place?
That's like people saying men who don't like yaoi are faggots
Oh wait...this is /a/ we're talking about
Carry on cockhounds
even ironically, that hurts me in ways I can't explain
/a/ has shitaste
SnK is shit
How did you not see this coming?
everything is shit
it has transcended anime popularity.
Because their are actual people that post like this that come to /a/
Also it's shit.
shit is shit
anime is a shit
>quiet thread with civil discussion, and many positive opinions
>suddenly, massive influx of ebin troles :^)
It's not hard to see what happened here.
>Because their are actual people that post like this that come to /a/
Only you, apparently.
It's been months since I saw anyone typing like this, and every time it was ironically, even then.
Get out of here cross-boarder! This is /a/!!!!!
I made that image years ago to help people spot out this kind of trolling and avoid feeding it. It hasn't worked though.
It's all essentially tl;dr for "SPAM IT".
I know anon, and other people know too.
But then you have faggots like >>100909487 who pretend to take these threads and posts seriously.
In the end, they're still doing the same thing.
Out of anime released in the past 5 years, I think it was only topped by SAO.
never forget never forgive
It might have been cool. I think it works in manga form, where the next part is soon to follow, and the hype for seeing what will happen next can sustain itself.
But to reveal something like that at the end of an arc in a television series, where the next part isn't going to happen for at least 6 months to a year, is just a big fuck you to everyone watching. Just one dumb cliffhanger.
That wasn't subtle enough.
At least for this one Araki cannot be blamed.
what did you expect? IRC spammers are retards, they think that any bait, no matter how crude, is a good quality bait.
It's satisfying to see them banned after a while though.
>Still a better adaption than many manga get
Not really. The changes made to the last few episodes were retarded and unnecessary
>And the fact he was the director of arguably 2 of the biggest anime in the last decade
>Highschool of the Dead
/a/, how will they fix the lack of Ilse's diary in the anime?
I mean, I know they made an OVA, but it's not in the right time frame in the anime.
And taking as Ilse's diary was a key part in the plot as that's how EMA and SL was found out Ymir is a titan, does that mean that they won't have a fucking clue about it in the anime until she actually transforms?
The OVA is still canon. Think of it as an episode and suppose it happened.
Everything will proceed as normal.
>think of it as an episode
What about the normalfags who haven't heard of it?
The Ymir part will make no sense.
He was talking about Death Note and Shingeki No Koyjin I think
>see me trolling
The normalfags can go fuck themselves.
>Death Note 2007
You do realize we're in a new decade right? Death Note was the previous one and it wasn't even the biggest anime of that decade.
Check the catalog.
What for? No one with a sane mind will post in this thread at any point having read the piles of shit above.
You mean the bump?
Anyway, most of the IRC posts got deleted anyway.
More like 1/4 only. I'm disappointed.
Be happy that at least there are mods on /a/.
And suddenly my optimism is gone.
>It was structured better than the manga in the way certain events happened
Just go back to the shithole you crawl from.
Araki a shit but he's not that shit. He left 24 and 25 to an assistant, and then pulled a please understand after gulping when asked about the changes.
No, they wasted it putting 4 minutes of filler between Eren transforming and landing on top of Annie, resulting in the scene being anticlimatic as fuck, just like in the manga.
Its was great until the cluster fuck witht he recent chapters.
And then you'll probably say that the movie will be the best thing ever produced
Everybody shat on it when during the middle and end of the anime.
Levi could maneuver inmediately after the injury, cut Annie's jaw and take Eren. He uses the 3DMG one week after the fight at Stohess.
You dislike the politics? What clusterfuck?
I don't get what you're getting at with this. A lot of people love Taco Bell -- there's a stereotype of stoners but that's negligible, everyone fucking loves Taco Bell.
>And then you'll probably say that the movie will be the best thing ever produced
Do you really believe that people like this exist on /a/? Are you that retarded?
I bet you also fall for IRC's ebin trolling.
During the day they exist,
and no, I leave the gullible trolling to the moeshit fanbase
No, after erin become OP I stopped reading
We will see when the second OVA comes out
>No, after erin become OP I stopped reading
First of all, there is no character named Erin.
Also, you mentioned the "recent chapters". Eren didn't become OP during these chapters.
Erin is still an useless shit and all of his power-ups have backfired horribly. It goes to the point he's more reliable in human form than in titan form.
sorry for hurting your feelings faggot
Eren had the "control titans" technique- What was that?! i Left the threads after i read that caca
I'm glad you left because of the way you write.
Even the people on Youtube can structure sentences better than you.
I'm not even going to explain why I don't care about Eren being a coordinate, I'd prefer it if you stayed away.
Yet, you still act like pretentious faggot.
No wonder the fanbase kept going to shit, when there are people like you around
Manga is artistically superior.
Anime is too flat, whidout "soul"
The last ten years, yeah.
Your image isn't helping either man.
And I'm sorry if I don't want to discuss things with people who write like retards. He can still believe whatever he wants, but I'm just not going to try and convince him.
The based god would never say that, get out.
because you act silly
looks like you've never had the 48 hr based god trial, haven,t you?
