Why is Yoko Kanno the best OST composer?
>inb4 "B-But shes a plagiarist!!!!!!!"
I agree OP. Kanno > Kaijura.

What's the story on that?
Because she steals the best music from other people.
Piece By Ten from G.I.T.S OST Be Human sounds like Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen.
She samples other songs for her own songs.
This is sampling:
This is plagiarizing:
That's not Yuji Yoshino.
The story is that many of her songs have parts that are heavily lifted from other people's works.
Or Shiro Sagisu.
>It's totally different!
While Shiro and Yuji are amazing composers, no one comes close to Yoko in my eyes. Or ears.
There are more examples but people get really assblasted over it. Listen to current music and you will hear sampling from everything
What are you implying here? That Yoko Kanno is Vanilla Ice?
Where's that link that explains how extremely successful people have sampled/stolen?
Child's rhythm in a rap song for one. AFAIK E-40 was pretty successful
isn't the Glee show covering that song?
Covers =/= Plagiarism.
I like Ooshima Michiru.
They didn't even bother to get rid of the "Johnny C's in trouble" line. The least they could do is be subtle. They outright took the instrumentals from Johnathan Coulton's cover and just sang over it, and claimed it as theirs. THAT is plagiarism.
Why do nips think that using two different languages in one song is cool? It's fucking cringeworthy.
GiTS: SAC's music is phenomenal. I personally enjoy both it and Inner Universe. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
HOW IS SHE WHEN SHE DOESN'T SURF?
>you will never be incredible math
I love all of her songs with Ilaria Graziano in them. Her voice is beautiful:
I'm going to up and be perfectly honest: Wolf's Rain has the most heartbreakingly beautiful soundtrack I've ever heard in my anime viewing experience.
Actually, is three. English, Russian and Latin.
That's Inner Universe. I think Rise is just Russian and English.

So, is Youko also Gabby Robin?
Gabriela sings for Yoko.
Gabriela is Yoko, I believe.
Is she? I had no idea Yoko also sings. Is Gabriela Robin her stage name or something?
That's the rumor, anyway, since Gabriela sings in Kanno's made-up language.
Some people think it's confirmed because Kanno performed one of Gabriela's songs onstage once, if I remember right.
>Kanno performed one of Gabriela's songs onstage once
Inner Universe > Rise, right?
This is wonderful.
I wish this version was on the official soundtrack. I like it better than Steve Conte's actually.
For the longest time Inner Universe wouldn't grow on me, but now I think I like them equally.
If you want the absolutely (not so) disgusting remix of Inner Universe:
Cyberbird > Everything else
>Not Replica from SSS
You fucked up.
ANGELY I DEMONY KRUZHILI NADO MNOJ
I AM CALLING, CALLING IN THE DEPTHS OF LONGING
From CBB, Rain
This song helped me in one of my darkest moments, My father's terminal cancer, and eventually his death. Only those who had experienced the mind numbing, , psyche deconstructing, soul crushing, time freezing, staggering effects of dealing with this kind of devastating constant pain understand this song.
Just by knowing that someone out there understands what I felt then made it easier to deal with it.
Steve Conte sung it and Tim Jensen wrote the lyrics. And for beign part of that, her, as steve and tim, will have my eternal gratitude.
That's good that it helped you get through. I know a lot of people with difficult stuff and loss in their lives, and I think music can be very helpful to people.
Love his stuff too.
MANA DU VORTES, MANA DU VORTES
AERIA GLORIS, AERIA GLORIS
How do you like this one?
I personally wish their voices matched better, but it's a really good song anyways.
Maaya and Steve's voices in that song are phenomenal. Thank you for this.
