NT9 translations are in progress. Let's discuss suffering and what Othinus smells like. As always, keep discussion civil and have a good time on Kamachi's Wild Ride.
Last Thread: >>100814262
I want that hat.
Will we ever see Itsuwa not being incarcerated for manslaughter?
I do have to say, Othinus's hat is pretty sick.
You'll never smell Othinus edition
She's gonna kick Othinus' ass.
So what the hell is up about Toumas comments on how nice she smells?
Is he falling for her or what?
Is Touma the greatest masochist there is?
Mikoto is so cute.
Touma will punch Itsuwa before she can even lay a finger on the Scratch 'n' Sniff Goddess.
Nigga wants that witch bad
>I have two mommies
I wonder if they have raunchy lesbian sex every night in the other room, making Accelerator bang on the wall if they get too loud.
It's the smell that keeps him sane.
>Touma loses his shit while protecting Othinus and punches everyone who gets close
Othinus was the only "real" thing to Touma for a long time, especially when he's just wandering the empty void. Whatever his feelings about her were or what they became, she was the only thing that existed that held any meaning for him. He'll notice every thing about her that he can.
How long until Touma punches Jesus and tells him he's not living his life correctly?
Nah just sexual tension.
>The wings he (and the other 4+ people that had his power) normally uses are just wing-shaped dark matter smashy stabby sticks. His actual angel wings come out under similar conditions as Accel's and probably do the same self-calculating stuff.
That makes sense, that jump in power had to have been more than just having Dark Matter wings, but if they do the self-calculating thing then I could understand
>People die when they die for your sins!
Not even Index escapes, I'm afraid
New Kakine is no way stronger or more powerful than pre brain-damaged Accel. Full-power Accel would not give a shit about him reflecting his dark matter whenever he wants. His defensive and offensive powers are still far stronger than Kakine's even when he's brain-damaged. And I have no doubt he would destroy Kakine if goes black wings. Accelerator is powerful as fuck. The only reason he loose the second time was power limit. But let's think of it, he has no power limit when awakened. And Kakine is also not strong as you think he is. He can't handle his own ability. You can say his ability is strong, but not Kakine himself. Another personality's easily stolen this power from him. Btw, Accel obviously eventually learns how to use his black wings at will. And I think they would appear every time Accel is nearly killed as Rensa said.
>NT10 a long series of cat fights between Othinus and the members of Touma's harem.
>Touma is fighting Aleister in the background while Aiwass floats around spouting exposition.
>We never here anything interesting because the entire book is focused on the cat fights and describing Othinus' scent.
>600 pages long.
What is this and where can i read more?
Stop sucking his pussy.
>450 of those pages is just Othinus's scent
>Half a page of vague keikaku description.
Accel fanboys are invading I see.
>Aiwass is the POV character
Did Touma learn anything at all from all his tormenting?
>New Kakine is no way stronger or more powerful than pre brain-damaged Accel. Full-power Accel would not give a shit about him reflecting his dark matter whenever he wants. His defensive and offensive powers are still far stronger than Kakine's even when he's brain-damaged
>Accelerator is powerful as fuck. The only reason he loose the second time was power limit
Dark Matter Kakine can stall Accelerator indefinitely. He's basically immortal.
>And Kakine is also not strong as you think he is. He can't handle his own ability
"Awakened" Kakine can actually control his ability, so that's something. Accelerator couldn't control the Black Wings state because of rage and because Black Wings > Dark Matter
>Accel obviously eventually learns how to use his black wings at will
No, he doesn't, they just come out whenever he' fucking furious
>He can't handle his own ability.
Don't forget that Rikou, Fremea, and stuffed animals all contributed to beetle's takeover. He didn't just accidentally his powers.
Yes, that he really fucking hates omnipotents.
Reposting Railgun spoilers by Js06:
>Gensei actually had a fake hand
>Misaki passes out due to lack of oxygen
>Gensei gets the limiter release code
>Kuroko can't find Mitori anywhere
>She remembers seeing a manhole
>The shadow appears and stabs Kuroko between teleports
>Using the festival camera she hacked, Mitori sees Kuroko lying dead on the floor
>She senses a chill along her neck and realizes something is happening
>Outside, Gunha isn't moving and Touma is battered
>Mikoto is transforming further
>Seeing the transformation, Mitori presses a remote control button
>Mikoto holds out her right arm and a large dark hole appears at the end
>Mitori says Level 6 Mikoto will probably blow away AC, but she wants to make sure a certain person is killed
>Gensei makes it to an open staircase and says he has already input the string of characters
>As Mikoto holds up the giant black sphere, Mitori shouts for someone to "apologize to her in the afterlife"
>At the last second, Kuroko arrives in the sewer where Mitori is hiding
>With the help of Uiharu + an extra, they tricked Mitori with fake footage and found her location
>Kuroko runs toward Mitori while telling her she can no longer escape
I'd say Kakine could beat pre braindamage Accelerator, it's just a matter of who can keep up for longer. Accelerator was even fighting alongside Crazytits and Kakine was still winning.
And this is assuming Accel is aware of dark matter vectors and isn't killed instantly before creating a countermeasure.
It's been 2 weeks since NT9 came out and Japanese raws still aren't out. I think the usual guy really did get arrested.
I wonder what this means for all future volumes.
It's shit like this that is probably the reason Touma is basically used to his friends trying to murder him.
Here's the Railgun one
please use ex
The extra is obviously Xochitl.
>he pulls out NT11 in the first chapter and spoils it
>another chapter breaks away from the plot to follow the adventures of a cicada
Well, at high energies the electromagnetic force reunites with the weak force to become the electroweak force, and it's theorized that at even higher energies, at the grand unification energy electroweak will reunite with the strong force. And possibly at energies even higher than that they will reunite with the gravitational force. So perhaps if you blow an Electromaster above Level 5 she'll get to start fucking with the other fundamental forces.
Damn, so Gunha was defeated? Will he ever win a fight or his GUTS aren't enough?
I state that pre brain-damaged Accel wouldn't loose or give a shit about dark Kakine. In this state he has healthy brains so no power limit.
>he doesn't control his wings because shit
Now if Accel goes black wings he actually controls them at his will. Like with Aiwass, Touma, or when he thought LO was killed and intended to kill her murderer.
Well, whatever, if ones didn't take care of his organs, he wouldn't exist at all.
That is the most pitiful soccer ball I have ever seen.
I'd love to fuck her fundamental forces and use my grand unification energy to electroweaken her strong forces
Stiyl should've become the next Peter Crouch instead of some magician that gets bullied by girls and children.
Damn, Volume almost completely translated again.
How many LN readers must cry upon seeing the pace this LN is getting translated compared to other LNs they read?
Pre brain-damaged Accel was hax as fuck. He had incredible brain and accomplished amazing calculations. It's not even a challenge if he fights Kakine with his all power with no limits. Kakine would just spit out and go away being tired of throwing his matter at Accel and getting it back immediately. Also, who knows, maybe some plasma attack would vanish Kakine off...
js06 is on another level.
I'm upset Fuyukawa prefers to focus on Kuroko, Uiharu and Sluten rather than Touma + Gunha versus overpowered Mikoto.
js06 is not human. It's a cyborg.
I don't think he'd manage to make plasma, it took just change in the wind for the attack to fail, adn we've seen that Accel can't use his reflections when he focuses too much on something, like how he got brain damage the first time.
Nagai's part-time job is to be Fuyukawa's chair
I sometimes do when i see mono. But fuck it i am fine with it.
How so? Never read the book of law
So really Mikoto could have shot him with a railgun and he'd have died and the Level 6 Shift project would have been over.
Maybe, but she was too intimidated for that.
>In this state he has healthy brains so no power limit.
Then the fight drags on for a day or two instead of a few hours. The only way to beat dark matter Kakine is to destroy ALL the dark matter at once (which would be difficult even for black wings if he spread enough of it), or to hope a freak chain of events causes his power to hijack itself.
Accel can easily beat one or even hundreds of Kakines, but infinite Kakines can and do wear him down eventually.
It's not just focusing on smth too much. It's doing enormous calculation, performing non-human work, working really hard with his N.1 AC brain, smth like hacking loli's brain. Well, if Kakine comes and throws his shit at Accel while he deals with someone's brain like in the 5 volume, then it's possibly for him to kill him. But I don't see another way for him to hurt or kill Accel.
You can read it here if you want:
It's a lot of esoteric poetry that's very, very difficult to understand if you aren't versed in numerology. It's interesting though, I own a physical copy and read each part on the day it was supposedly dictated to Aleister.
That's wrong. Destroying Dark Kakine's shit would be for him like doing nothing with his brains. It would just work automatically. Like he said, he would reflect shit even when he slept, so I imagine days of their fights like Accel dealing with his life normally and Kakine jumping around and trying to hit him when he eats, sleeps, walks and so on.
The ultimate SOL death battle
He wouldn't be able to eat if Kakine blows up all the food, which he would because he's an asshole.
>Kakine destorys all the coffee shops and vending machines in AC while Accelerator is sleeping
He just wants someone to notice him
> 4. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
Which relates to Crowley's "beyond the world's numbers" shit.
>every thread turns into an accelerator dick sucking fest
Not even surprised anymore.
Anon must be getting tired of sniffing Othinus's armpits
> 8. The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs.
The lack of accelerator displeases me.
i just fucking got to this, i have never had so many tabs open after reading 8 lines of something
Is Aleister "aware" the world ended?
What about Dragon?
Mikoto didn't do it because she realized it would be useless. She couldn't stop him that way.
I doubt Kakine will be able to mess with the wind or air. Ehm, create a big butterfly? Nah
I don't get it
>10. Get the stele of revealing itself; set it in thy secret temple -- and that temple is already aright disposed -- & it shall be your Kiblah for ever. It shall not fade, but miraculous colour shall come back to it day after day. Close it in locked glass for a proof to the world.
yfw when this is about Crowley's fish tank
Aleister is not affected so apparently he is correcting errors from his plans and using the worlds to his advantage. He is the silver star anon.
Khabs is your knowledge of being yourself, while Khu is who you are.
I see you havent been in a Raildex General for the past year at least.
>Not liking Accelerator
Shit taste detected.
Calm down, they were born to be killed.
>Fwoom! The six wings blew up a gale wind towards Accelerator.
Intimidation doesn't factor into it. Her goal at that point was to kill herself by reflecting her Railgun off of him. She changed her mind when she realized what Accel was doing with his ability. She knew then that her sacrifice would be meaningless, as he was about to kill everyone she cared about anyway.
As awesome as the Touma + Gunha vs Mikoto is, it's meaningless to show it. It don't make the story progress since they just need to keep her busy. We're pretty much aware that the fight will just be a light beam and explosions contest with Touma negating what he can.
yes it look really awesome but you get it
I have to read this book
so i went over to /x and there is a massive dump of links and stuff, some of which are about Crowley. thought you guys might be interested
Oh what the fuck
I don't like any character Touma defeats.
Cool, I'll check it out
Didn't see it listed, but here's a kind of interesting but cheesy documentary on Crowley.
>heard someone say a cat has nine lives
>destroys a cat in 9 different ways; hanging, burning, stabbing, suffocation, dropping it off a building, etc.
>I felt sorry for the cat, but it was in the interest of SCIENCE
> 4. Choose ye an island!
> 5. Fortify it!
> 6. Dung it about with enginery of war!
> 7. I will give you a war-engine.
> 8. With it ye shall smite the peoples; and none shall stand before you.
>Those who discuss the contents of this Book are to be shunned by all, as centres of pestilence.
>it's being discussed on /a/
Crowley really is all-knowing.
All according to Keikaku
>Kamachi is a descedant of one of Crowley's disciples, he's trying to spread the word of Aiwass through his novels
This is some 4th level shit right here
>75. The ending of the words is the Word Abrahadabra.
Abrahadabra = 418
418*24 = 10032
>The man who names himself the Silver Star seems to have been attempting to directly tamper with the ‘pure world’ beyond all the filters
what the hell was this all about?
SCIENCE is the pure world without the filters of magic.
Crowley's Keikaku is to fuck around with the pure world, rather than throw more filters on top of it like the magicians do.
Don't espers also put their own filters (AIM) over the world as well?
is he reading from an autobiography because apparently Crowley
>imagining my self being hurt, and in agony... i had visions of being degraded and suffering at the hands of wicked women
6:42 in the video
LO would never draw herself with an ahoge so
Did Accelerator draw this
Probably, but I think Crowley is trying to do it in a way that it doesnt build of the filters magic laid out, and instead starts over.
So instead of:
Pure World > Magic Shit > Magic Shit > Magic Shit > Magic Shit > Magic Shit > Espers
It is instead:
Pure World > Espers
SO he's taking magic filters out of the equation
After Mitori gets defeated so that she can't manipulate Mikoto anymore, Will-chan will show up in that space of DARKNESS and get Mikoto back to her senses.
>Reminder that Crowley approved of Nazis and the Soviet Union purely because they were causing change, he didn't really care what kind of change it was.
>LO would never draw herself with an ahoge
Why not? It's part of her appearance.
That Crowley is the one who caused the shift in the elements that Fiamma fixed? He may have to alter the world as a preparation for his plans.
It's all speculah by me anyway, so I might be completely wrong. But that's what I'm guessing.
Makes sense when you consider that espers can't use magic, the esper filter is above magic, but a magician that underwent the curriculim can use the esper power if he wants to. It's kind of an overwriting thing I suppose
>“'…This thing that Misaka has isn’t an ahoge!' says Misaka as Misaka has a tired voice.”
I want to see Kamachi's library.
It's probably full of really creepy shit.
No, it will be Saten. That's the only way to compensate her criminally low screentime.
Well fuck, my artwork isn't as accurate as I thought. Maybe I should edit it.
Nagai pls dont try to ruin manga Saten too
I would be happy if Will-chan appears in Railgun.
>Nagai blackmails Fuyukawa to make him Saten more relevant
I think he said in an interview that his room is filled with books because his research process is "find something that sounds interesting online -> buy a proper book on the topic".
?What are you going to do now??
?The same thing as always,? replied Kamijou Touma without turning around. ?No matter how many times I reach game over and no matter how many times I must pathetically hit continue, I will not stop moving forward.? NT 7 epilogue , god dammit I need to pay attention to the small details like Crowley seeing IB being the reference point in volume 16 epilogue
add in worst
> The reference point for the denial of illogical phenomena (Point Central 0) remains at stability level 3.
> Regulated rotation speed of the core continuing to idle at the center confirmed.
> Sample name "Imagine Breaker" at 98% plan influence level.
>The reference point for the denial of illogical phenomena (Point Central 0)
What if Aleister Crowley was a previous owner of Imagine Breaker
I think that in the Orsola arc is mentioned that he experimented on his wife and daughter, maybe one of them was
Accel's manga spoilers when
>“Anyway, according to history, this guy was the scum of humanity. During one of his trips, in order to carry out a magical experiment, he used his wife, who had been accompanying him around the world, as a medium to contact the guardian angel, Aiwass. And when his daughter Lilith died, he remained unmoved, continuing on with his research on theories of magick. In order to carry out the experiment, he even used a group of girls as old as his daughter as sacrifices…still, he did manage to define a so-called different world--a different but overlapping one similar to Heaven or Hell--and open new grounds in the field of magical rituals. Just by those points alone, his contributions cannot be denied.”
We can see he hasn't changed
Why does it matter if it's a child or an adult if he's forcing them to do it?
We don't know how old was Lilith
Wait, what. Where did you get the 24?
The RL Crowley's daughter Lilith was 2 when she died.
They are referred to as girls instead of women, that kind of suggests that they were young. I guess they could have been teenager instead of children but those are usually mentioned as children in situation like that.
Or maybe they were 2.
What do you mean, where? Dividing 10032 by 418 gives 24 as the result.
Yeah, but apparently it is not true that he didn't give much of a fuck, also
>Nuit Ma Ahathoor Hecate Sappho Jezebel Lilith
I think I know how I am calling my daughter if I have one
Oh, I thought 24 was some kind important number I overlooked or something. I'm just retarded.
He's probably wondering why you made a connection between the numbers 418 and 10032. Where is that 24 coming from, what is the source that suggests that those numbers have anything to do with each other.
yeah but isn't coincidence that 10032 is dividable by 418
>inb4 >implying kamachi does anything by coincidence.
You guys are getting a little Number 23.
>Old Testament novels have 22 novels plus two SSs
>22+2 = 24
There, found your 24 for you.
Cover for the last Railgun S BD/DVD.
>Kongou in the background so that she's barely in sight
Well fuck you too Nagai.
Fuck. I'd forgotten that Haruue and not Tada Banri even exist.
And Saten being a slut as usual.
24 is not important in Thelema, but we can think of it as 11+13, in which case, the individual numbers do appear.
11 is 5+6, pentagram and hexagram, the foundation of Crowley's magic.
13 may be thought as the number 31 (True Will) in reverse - important for Abrahadabra counting, or it may symbolize 13th path in the Tree of Life, the Path of Mem. Number associated with Mem is 600, the first in The Great Beast (Aleister Crowley)
Please don't remind me of that mess.
I'm starting to wonder if Kamachi's interest in the occult is solely for the story.
Well, you can't deny that Aleister's life and teachings are fascinating
Dude was a new age hippie decades before new age and hippies became a thing
this and the manga as of recent. Fuck both.
Why the manga? It's been pretty good these last couple months.
A lot of people don't like that we are still in namek
He's probably just angry over the pacing or page count.
>The best assassin in the world is hired to kill Touma
>Magic allies setup a barrier to keep out interference
>Touma is isolated and then takes a bullet to the head
>shot multiple times to ensure death
>body dissolved with industrial acid
>Kanzaki and Stiyl take over as main characters
Welp, looks like I'll be watching documentary about Aleister Crowley until further chapters get translated.
>doesn't like the manga
I wonder if Touma had this happen to him in one of the worlds he experienced? Being shot multiple time only to be burned with acid would be a horrible way to go.
I guess I understand that.
But when Namek ends, there might not be any more chapters.
Apparently he was a British spy who got put in charge of a large part of the German propaganda machine and made them look retarded during WW1.
Surprisingly cool dude.
Dat heart shaped blood stain
>Jumping to conclusions
I like the manga, but I'm disappointed with how long things are taking. And when a monthly manga has the same amount of pages as a weekly one, you get so little and again it feels like barely anything happened this chapter. That's all.
I know a couple monthly series that have 3-4 pages a month. Count your blessings.
Touma wouldn't want to live in a world without Othinus' scent.
Itsuwa jailbreak when?
Nah. When this one was producing the right amount of pages before this arc? no way.
Looks like I'll have to create a new folder for Othinus.
When the story goes back to London
I dropped index a long time, so who is the witch and we she's sided with touma in that picture? spoil me pls
>sided with Touma
Touma has 0 friends and allies in that picture.
The witch is Vento cosplaying.
No that´s just Vento in her casual clothes.
She's Touma's official waifu
why what happened?
> Accelerator is so badass ASMSDFSD
> Gets punked by a bitch whose only power is fap with his right hand
Suffering. And stupid sexy Othinus and her stupid sexy scent.
Touma died and he's in Heaven and he realizes everyone is happier without him.
>Implying Touma's fapping isn't almighty
Would anyone from the kamijou faction side against him after hearing him out in NT10.
Touma lost, so did everyone else, the universe lost basically. Now an omnipotent being is sending Touma through millions of different worlds torturing him trying to break him mentally. Also she smells nice and keeps leaning up on Touma and nibbling him and shit. Touma has a very confused boner because the bitch keeps torturing him to death in horrific ways.
>side against him
Maybe Birdway and Kanzaki.
Did Othinus ever rape Touma?
I think Touma vs Kanzaki round 2 would be interesting. Old Touma got his ass kicked. Kung-fu master Touma might pull something off, though.
Probably, but in a way that felt like torture however
I want the trolls to leave.
She probably used the appearances of all the girls he knows just to mess with his head.
Then she stabs him right after they're done.
In reality, everyone should side against him after his sudden and inexplicable change of side. But since this can't happen in Index, the bitches will mindlessly follow him no matter how selfish and unreasonable his actions are.
As a god, Othinus doesn't need to perform conventional rape. Instead, she raped his entire being, his entire identity, his mind, and his very essence.
Birdway isn't part of the kamijou faction, she's with ollerus. And i doubt kanzaki would side against him since he's trying to save someone.
Chapter 7 Parts 1-2 are up:
Based. Simply based.
Yes, I love you.
>Biribiri will mindlessly follow him no matter how selfish and unreasonable his actions are
Oh shit, here we go!
Mikoto doesn't even really give a shit and doesn't know what's going on. She's just there to support Touma in the first place, she doesn't even know who she's fighting.
Index definitely trusts him, this is the kind of shit Touma does.
Birdway and Lessar are probably going to abandon him.
More than likely Touma isn't going to allow anyone to come with him anyways.
but why isn't he dead?
God's work js
Saiai a cute
That's nothing compared to vol 17 chapter 2 and NT1 chapter 4.
IB is the reference point and repair point of the universe. This was explained awhile back in the LN. She needs to break him mentally so IB is worthless, since just killing him permanently has a chance of IB reforming somewhere else. Only way to ensure IB doesn't reform is for Touma to kill himself.
>Frenda and Fremea
>all 20,000 clones saved
>Yoshikawa and Amai
>Kiharas being peaceful
>Index and Stiyl together
You're too perfect for this world. Thanks
That's exactly what I was talking about. They won't oppose, or even try to question what Touma is doing and why he is siding with the enemy of the world and even declaring fucking war if anyone tries to touch her.
>Komaba, Hanzou, and Hamazura chilling again.
Fuck. Just, fuck.
Are we in the Perfect World filtered by Othinus?
>Item chatting about food together and having fun
Aw shit, the similarities between Othinus and Touma are becoming more apparent and obvious.
Try Chapter 4 of Zashiki Warashi 1.
Or the only chapter of Zashiki Warashi 3, but that's kind of cheating.
>“Ow! Honestly, this is too many people. And where did my onee-sama get off to!?”
>“Yeah, it’s going to be impossible to find her with all these people who look just like her.”
>“Oh, Uiharu. I just remembered. Is it true Arisa-chan is coming here in secret today? Y’know, that ‘perfect mode’ created once the two became one.”
>“I saw that doll-like child president wandering around earlier, so she is probably here somewhere.”
Oh sweet, Ladylee and Shutarisa cameo.
>Yoshikawa and Amai hanging out with the SISTERS and Accel.
And even when surrounded by Sisters, she only cares about her onee-sama.
For fuck's sake, someone hug him.
Hell, someone hug me, I need it after reading that.
>He wanted to burn the scene before him into his mind.
>As the silver-haired girl ran out of the crowd, she held a calico cat in her arms. She had already spotted who she was looking for, so there was no hesitation in her actions.
>Without slowing for an instant, she ran right by Kamijou.
God damn, js06 picks these cliffhangers on purpose right?
TouMAN needs a biribirihug.
So Aureolous and Himegami still don't show up even though Touma's seeing pretty much every character that has done something in this series
Eztali not stalking Mikoto? How is it a perfect world?
>Implying he won't already be broken
>“This is the best possible spot to end my life, Othinus. I couldn’t make something like this on my own.”
Is he thanking her?
He has two cute Kohais to keep him company, he's fine.
Either that or he's implying that she'd planned even the spot of his suicide all the way out. Or both.
They're all cliffhangers, Anon. Every single part.
He has his imouto and his tsundere
>“Oh, Uiharu. I just remembered. Is it true Arisa-chan is coming here in secret today? Y’know, that ‘perfect mode’ created once the two became one.”
Isn't it basically the same as in the "real" world?
Arisa also fused with Shutaura and is also secretly singing somewhere in the streets of AC.
Does Kamachi hate Touma now or something?
>The movie is canon
It was always canon, Kamachi wrote it.
Kamachi likes to make his main characters suffer. He went extreme with Touma this time though.
Well, he wrote a shitload of material for it.
The actual script writer cut it down from enough for a full season to a 90 minute film.
Kamachi considers even Nagai Space to be canon as long as Kongou isn't there because that'd fuck up the timeline
I really wonder how the hell Will-tan will snap Touma out of this. This was horrible and a dick move from Othinus. Seeing Touma's reaction during this whole thing was too much.
Banri has appeared so she's canon. Study hasn't appeared and nothing from it has appeared, so it isn't canon.
And hopefully it never is canon, especially because it also fucks up the timeline.
So any Kanzaki TLC in this volume
>That “someone” who Kamijou feared would most likely not appear here. Othinus would not allow for the “imperfect fluctuations” of misfortune or tragedy that were needed for that “someone” to naturally appear.
Who is that "someone" referring to? A hero to save him? The thing inside him? The person mentioned in between the lines who valued justice over the end result of peace?
It hurts. Especially because I kinda liked Amai
He's probably referring to the fake Kamijou Touma.
Banri took a while to show up because Kamachi is always quite a few books ahead
So if STUDY or anything from its arc show up it'd be in a few books
Hopefully they don't though
Did anybody else realize that Othinus is kamidere?
Kongou is so pure. I love her.
He literally did something very similar to Shinobu and the rest of his main cast in ZW3. Quenser and Heivia haven't gone through the suffering train yet, but there's also no magic in HO to really pull the same level of suffering.
>Othinus was the leader of Gremlin. If she had not caused such violence, it may not have turned out that way. But at the same time, would everything have ended happily ever after if Gremlin and Othinus had not acted? Really? Even if they had not appeared on the stage, someone else might have appeared to ruin that world.
Pretty sure he's talking about a hypotheical here
Anyone else needed a drink after these latest parts, the suffering was off the charts.
Refer back to this sentence:
>Even if they had not appeared on the stage, someone else might have appeared to ruin that world.
And Mikoto still avoids her presence.
Mixing some Scotch with my ginger ale now.
>Touma about to commit suicide
>There is nothing that could save him
How does he survive?
HO is alot more comedic though.
I mean it has alot of death and child soldiers and shit, but it's all treated comedically.
Like "Bet you a pudding up we get bombed" "You're on" *Bombs drop and people die.* "Fuck yeah, pudding!"
>Behind them were two girls with breasts larger than one would expect of students. They were glaring at each other so intensely it seemed sparks would fly.
>They both had long hair. One had black hair that almost looked wet and the other had blonde hair that shined like honey, but they were both specialists at manipulating people’s minds.
Who's the black haired girl?
He's refering to the bit before where he said that if gremlin had not appeared someone else might have appeared to destroy the peace or cause another incident.
>He had desperately worked to resolve many different incidents in the past.
I suppose this is talking about the Railgun events, since in Index all he did was ultimately pointless.
Seria, Touma's Senpai.
That's actually one of my favorite examples in the series. Fuck yeah, pudding.
Their comedic antics also subtlety get dangerously serious, though. Like they were literally planning to break into the girl's bath in HO7 with scarily detailed plans. Gotta love it.
How does Heavy Object compare to Index?
I was thinking about picking it up since I have nothing else to read
I'm only up to volume 4 atm, I enjoy it. The plot and setting is just an excuse for a bunch of fun basically.
Basic plot is it's your standard mecha series, except it's from the perspective of those poor foot soldiers that always get murdered by the Super Robots.
It's a lot of fun but it's a lot more science-y than Index.
All of the protagonists are pretty much powerless though one can shoot as well as any other soldier and the other can use explosives smartly.
The girls are there to look pretty and drive the machines of doom which usually don't accomplish shit.
I did like how it's more realistic than most in the way it uses mechas.
Instead of having them be humanoid, they're all just massive blobs of a shitload of guns and armor.
It's a fun read. It's like 50% bromance to the max, 20% explosions and action, 20% Quenser and Heivia doing something awesome, 5% exposition with the last 5% reserved for when things get serious (until something breaks the tension).
Really hoping more of these specs get translated.
Also the massive Railgun in South America would make Biri piss her pants, I loved that thing.
It doesn't have an overall plot line, with each novel, and each chapter in these novels to a lesser extent, being basically episodic with sometimes slight references to past adventures.
The two protagonists have great chemistry, so if you like delta force shenanigans taken to a slightly higher level, they deliver it. I think how they take down Objects is also at least somewhat exciting and is presented well.
It has running gags, too. Like Quenser is making a harem of his own, but 99% of all the romance-comedy shit is handled offscreen and lightly referenced to. I also like the concept of giant mechs that for once aren't humanoid, because humanoid mechs aren't too great. Each Object is based on a concept taken to the extreme, which I love.
I found myself not very motivated when reading volume 5, though.
Cool, I'll check it out then thanks
Heavy Object anime when?
It had a manga and it was pretty neat too
I can see this being way too censored if it got animated though
Never. The manga only had average sales and only covered the first arc.
The LN as well has basically average sales, I think it's like around 20-30 thousand sales a volume.
>All that CGI
>“If anyone should be called evil, it’s me.”
It had two manga, Anons. Heavy Object and Heavy Object S. The first one only had 1 volume, but the second one had 4 volumes.
You'd have to ask jsbro what novel they covered up to, though.
>This will never get animated
That sounds a little better than "average" to me.
He's the only one in that world Othinus created that can cause any harm. His very existence is going to destroy that peace.
Though he's only evil the way a Radiation leak is evil. He doesn't mean to do it, but he'll kill everyone near him eventually.
The best girl saves him.
Quenser and Heivia make the series with their bromance so the lack of them in volume 5 made reading it not as fun.
They could use the "made by the author from Index!" to make an anime that'd boost the novel sales
They'd probably make Index s3 before that though and we know what boat THAT is on
Never saw S. Is it available anywhere to read?
>Never saw S. Is it available anywhere to read?
It's all scanned, but none of it is translated. I recall jsbro saying he would if anyone was interested in editing and typesetting it, but no one ever piped up.
Because if he choses to live, it would make many many people unhappy.
His very being is evil.
Meh. It's to be expected of our friendly neighborhood JC Staff.
Though I do wonder how many seasons we'll get before they throw "Index Final: Let's Get This Over With" at us.
hey mina-san, someone has already translated this or I should start to translate it?
If you played muvluv alternative, it's like the deal with Takaru. His very existence will cause the perfect world to experience despair and misfortune down the line. In a sense, he is the evilest being in that world (if you disregard Orthinus).
I have mixed feelings with the way you worded that, but go for it.
As many as it takes. It sells very well.
Zero No Tsukaima was animated over 6 years. Same with Shana.
I'm more worried about the author continuing the LN's to infinity and then either dying or the series gets cancelled due to declining sales around volume 100.
He said he was either halfway or 1/3 of the way done back around 20 (can't remember which).
Index III, Index: new testament, Index: new testament II, Index: new testament III
Index III, Index: World War, Index: New Testament, Index: New Testament 2, Index: NT 3, Index: Finale
I just want three 1-hour long animated movie/OVA for WWIII.
Then season 3 could be volume 14 through 19, with SS2 as extra shorts in the BDs.
What if the anime rights for New Testament were magically purchased by a different studio? Which studio would you want and would it be doable without the previous arcs?
>still thinking JC staff is not going to force WWIII in index 3
Sure, if they make it 3cour.
I can't see that being possible. Even if they completely cut the Civil War arc, they'd still be cutting it close. It'd be a bit of a squeeze fitting in up to 19, but it's the most logical way of doing it.
But I want Touma to live... ;_;
Touma doesn't want to live, Anon.
>Not dying at the end of the series
Are you high?
It's okay, he died doing what he loved, protecting everyone's smile.
Say whatever you want about them, but I don't think I trust another studio with LN adaptations as much as I trust JC staff, they may be hit or miss and they may be mediocre , but most studios are really bad adapting LNs
But what about HIS smile?!
I don't know if it's true, but I've heard HO's sales are about the same as Index's before the anime.
What about ufotable?
Sunrise's Studio 8 is better.
>While thinking this, he accidentally smiled.
Reading NT9 while listening to that.
He smiled while thinking about his suicide. That doesn't count anon.
Yeah, Touma's perfectly fine
What was that whole 'Who are you in this picture' thing about?
Was Othinus just trying to fuck with him and make him think he wasn't actually Kamijou Touma or what?
I said most, not all
yes, they are better
I haven't seen any of their LN adaptations
Make him think he wasn't actually Touma.
Basically her argument was that since she made that fake Touma think he was really Touma, the Touma she's talking to could just as easily be another fake that doesn't know any better.
So even in this world they are natural enemies? Are they two of the people who liked Touma before he got memory wiped?
The Perfect World still has friendly bickering. We see it all over the place, half the people are still arguing, it's just not heated.
And yeah, that's Misaki and Seria. Both of them have crushes on the T.
So wait, if Othinus was a magic god, how come she didn't give him back the memories that he had lost? It probably would've caused extremely conflict in himself due to identity and all that. Or can she not do that due to IB?
Well, they say people who are too similar don't get along.
But yeah, they both knew and liked Touma before he got Dragon Breath'd.
Seems so, Misaki knew who Touma was when he showed up in Railgun and we know that he used to be close to his senpai so it's possible they know each other the same was Misaka and Index do
She probably could, but what would be the point? Touma has already reconciled himself with having lost his memories, as shown in 16. Getting them back wouldn't really hurt him.
Misaki liked Touma and said he was the only person she trusted. Seria tried her best to protect Touma without him knowing but was too afraid to get close to him.
Sort of. The picture was of 'Kamijou Touma's' class. If Touma had picked being someone 'other' than 'Kamijou Touma', then that would have shown that his confidence in his identity was wholly shot.
The simple answer is she has no idea he lost his memory. The only ones who basically know in the series are Frogdoc, Mikoto, and Terra. Crowley might know being who is.
While Othinus has come off as knowledgeable, she has not come off as all-knowing.
If she knew about his memory loss, she would have done that. But she doesn't.
She doesn't even know he lost his memories.
Fiamma also knows.
>Seria tried her best to protect
I likely just missed this, but where was that stated? I need to reread the part/chapter.
I don't remember but chances are it was mentioned in NT7, where she had a pretty big role
Fiamma and Index know, Aleister probably does too, Seria might know.
Othinus had just told Touma that 'Kamijou Touma' honestly thought that he was Kamijou Touma. Given that, what evidence does Touma have that HE is Kamijou Touma?
She then gave him the class photo and told him that he was someone in it. Her hope was that he would be so shocked at the thought that he wasn't Kamijou Touma that he would latch on to someone else as a possible option for who he really was. Othinus would have then told him he was right, and created lots of evidence of why he was right, even when it was absolute bullshit.
But Touma realised that she hadn't told him that he WASN'T Kamijou Touma. She's just been trying to lead him on.
That's a mindfuck.
The best part is, even the reader might be caught out, given that we'd already been following 'Kamijou Touma' about earlier without knowing.
Would you go on wacky adventures with Will-chan to save Touma's smile?
Plus Touma realized she'd said earlier she had no interesting in dealing with the Fakes she created, so if he was a fake she wouldn't be talking to him in the first place.
But why did she give him the class photo? Why not let him, as she put it, spin a globe around?
Because if he'd had time to think about it, he would have realised why she was bullshitting.
If you tell someone to pick from 6 Billion option, they'll never pick. If you tell them to pick from 30 or so familiar options, then they are much more likely to pick.
>at high energies
Those "high energies" you're talking about are immediate post-Big Bang level energies. You'd need true Level 6 to do that.
>yfw Bersi is banging Maria in the perfect world
To help prevent him from discovering her ruse.
>“But having you choose from all six billion people on earth would be a bit much. To match your position as a mere human, I will give you a hint. Human entertainment is no fun if there is no chance of winning.”
If she'd made it impossible for him he'd have more reason to suspect she's just fucking with him.
Plus she's the actual Odin, and when you look through the trials the Gods in most religions put people through, they always make it somewhat fair. At least, they never make the trial truly impossible for the human, even though they easily could and there's nothing the human could do about it. It's a common thread throughout mythology.
The best part was how she never really lied. She never said that he wasn't Kamijou Touma, she just made him question it through pointing out that he has no more reliable evidence to believe he is Kamijou Touma as opposed to anyone else. Except for the fact that if he wasn't Kamijou Touma, she wouldn't be bothering him (but he obviously wasn't thinking about that).
The only real lie is how she said she'd return him to his real self, since y'know, she's not planning to do that.
Accelerator purposefully deactivated Auto-reflect to increase his calculation capacity and accuracy (since Auto-reflect will also be reflecting some minute waves that will interfere with his delicate operation).
Nope. As long as Auto-reflect is up, there is nothing Mikoto can do to harm Accelerator.
She's not the actual Odin though.
Other way around, the story started because he randomly searched for info about real-life magicians on the Internet one day.
Yeah she is
Hell, the science side was just created to have something to compare the magic side to.
The only reason Accelerator was able to beat Kakine in the first place is because he was better at calculating out the differences between Kakine's specially-altered Dark Matter and the stuff on his whitelist. If he's not paying attention, he's dead.
>She's not the actual Odin though.
Actually, she is.
Is this the most emo novel yet?
She has his power. I don't remember anything saying that she's the actual Odin of myth though,
She is. She should be at the top of the powerlevel chart, except for maybe Aiwass.
Where does it say that?
That's because JS hasn't finished translating yet
Spoilers js told us after he had finished reading it himself
>capitalizing js06's name
I bet you capitalize the M in moot, too.
She is. js06 posted spoilers of it, I believe.
No, she isn't. She's just using an extremely powerful version of Idol theory.
>Othinus is (sort of) the actual Odin from Norse mythology
>She has lived since the age of mythology while repeatedly destroying and creating countless worlds
>People began treating her as a god, so she became a god
>She was satisfied with the current world, so she cast aside her power as a magic god, but she took action once she didn't like what was going on
>In NT8, she was regaining the powers of a magic god she had previously cast aside
>Ollerus is however only a human who thinks he knows about gods but actually understands nothing
>She says she is on a level that not even the Golden cabal ever reached
>The myths are not entirely accurate due to interpretations of the editors and compilers, but they are the truth
>The acts of gods of war seen in history books are actually past acts of violence by Othinus herself
>The reason she had so much trouble was because her mind was already almost destroyed from being worn down by the long time she had spent living through all the different worlds in the past
I'm sorry anon
Boom there it is.
Nope, see >>100861370
Accelerator's sections in volume 20 might take the cake on that one.
If the Between the Lines are from her perspective, it definitely seems like she fits the description of "Odin the Wanderer," though
> Study gets mentioned in an off-handed comment where Yomikawa talks about Anti-Skill having to find a new supply distributor due to their old one going bankrupt
>DEEP DARKNESS still getting told in the perfect world
Alright, so where does the Abrahamic God and Imagine Breaker fit into all of this?
More than that, why did people see a petite blonde girl as a one-eyed old guy?
A one-eyed petite blonde girl as a one-eyed old guy.
And besides, Odin was a shapeshifter, the old man was just his favored appearance.
Odin in Norse Mythology cross-dressed sometimes as a disguise, so that's probably where this came from.
The Abrahamic God is just another "filter" apparently. All the religions, even Norse, are fake.
And IB is still IB.
>why did people see a petite blonde girl as a one-eyed old guy?
This part here
>The myths are not entirely accurate due to interpretations of the editors and compilers
She became a petite little girl AFTER losing her power
She just choose "now how exactly would I want to live my life in a perfect world" with the best answer
OK, just bear with me a bit longer.
Is Othinus the creator of these 'filters', or are they from an even higher source and she merely manipulates them?
Nah, people are just stupid and messed up editing and compiling. While it's likely she can take any form she wants, there's no reason to think that the forms she's using now isn't her original form.
Here there's only Kuroko and Uiharu, where's the Saten scene?
She's not an absolute god. She's a creator but she's not the original creator. She lacks the omniscience that would be required for that.
“This world was not pure and untouched to begin with. Christian, Buddhist, Celtic, Indian, Shinto, Incan, Aztec, Greek, Roman…and Norse. The various religions have placed layer after layer of various phases over the world like thin veils or filters. There is heaven, hell, the underworld, the Pure Land, Yomi, the abyss, Mount Olympus, the fairy island, Nirai Kanai, Asgard, and many others. At any rate, the world you have seen so far has been viewed through various colors of cellophane.”
“You haven’t destroyed any of those colored glasses.”
As his vision wavered and he was unsure who he was speaking to, Kamijou managed to keep his mouth moving.
“When it comes down to it, you are a person who creates. It may be filled with malice and it may be similar to representing ‘crushing a house’ as ‘creating a pile of rubble’, but it does not change what you are. You are a person who creates.”
“Call me a god. And what I have done is simple. I have created new filters and placed them over the world so the world appears to have changed. That is why the world appeared changed to you. This is a lot easier than destroying everything and building it back up every time. And your right hand contains the power to level out any foreign elements in the world, so it has difficulty functioning when I change the world itself. …Still, results are everything in the world. In the end, history will record it like this: the Magic God repeatedly destroyed the world and created new ones to make a single boy suffer as much as possible.”
“The man who names himself the Silver Star seems to have been attempting to directly tamper with the ‘pure world’ beyond all the filters…that is, the world of science that is unaffected by religion. …Honestly, you are quite fortunate to see this. Not even the Golden cabal of Europe that dreamed in Tibet was able to reach this point.”
So who is?
Truly a perfect world
The third line is Saten's, Anon.
Who knows? A genuine God, likely.
It's implied that the 'pure world' is OUR world, and even Othinus or Aiwass aren't capable of affecting it.
I dunno. Aiwass?
Creating a universe doesn't require omniscience or omnipotence apparently, at least in Toaru. Maybe there are no omnipotents.
Eh? I don't think it's ever implied the Pure World is Our World.
I think you mean the Pure World has nothing supernatural in it like our world.
Based on speech patterns, it's:
>Kuroko: Ow! Honestly, this is too many people. And where did my onee-sama get off to!?
>Uiharu: Yeah, it’s going to be impossible to find her with all these people who look just like her.
>Saten: Oh, Uiharu. I just remembered. Is it true Arisa-chan is coming here in secret today? Y’know, that ‘perfect mode’ created once the two became one.
>Kuroko: I saw that doll-like child president wandering around earlier, so she is probably here somewhere.
I would've added "said [quick description of character]" to make it more clear in English, but I don't think Touma was even looking at them.
Wait, how long have we had decent illustration scans?
I just now noticed that.
That's what I mean. If there was no real magic, then the world of To Aru would be identical to our own.
I didn't mean that in a 4th wall breaking way, but rather in that the 'Pure World' is likely identical to our own.
So is Imagine Breaker something from the 'Pure World' then? Sort of a 'Fuck YOUR filters' kind of thing?
The normal guy that does it hasn't gotten his book yet, I think someone mentioned debinding theirs if he doesn't get it soon
Can Othinus and Aiwass really not affect the 'Pure World'? If they're aware of it, they must have touched it in some way.
>The normal guy that does it hasn't gotten his book yet
We don't know who the normal guy is. It's some moon Anon we don't know.
>I think someone mentioned debinding theirs if he doesn't get it soon
Yeah, that's been said.
Probably. At the very least, it's supposed to be "the way the world is supposed to work". That's why it destroys supernatural shit on contact.
I would've thought the third one was Kuroko and the fourth Uiharu, but thinking about it "Y'know" it's not very lady-like.
Earth-tan is pure
Othinus' entire power is applying new "filters" to the world. Everything she does is merely applying a separate filter.
Them affecting the Pure World would make the said world unpure. The pure world has no magic, only science. If they were to affect it, with their entire lives being based in magic, then the world would be tainted.
>the spoliers were real
I was really hoping they were not. Damn...
I don't know about Aiwass, but Othinus certainly can't.
She can place a filter over the pure world, but that doesn't actually change it. It just creates an alternate world. It's not the 'real' pure world, but instead a different world altogether. She hasn't touched the pure world.
It's kind of funny. For all Othinus's power, she's basically nothing more than an illusionist on a grand scale.
I think it's more of an impossiblity rather than 'they won't do it'. As in, trying to affect the pure world would basically be like trying to magic Imagine Breaker. It just can't be done.
Eh, it's more like she can only create, so she creates filters.
Of course like Touma said, there's no reason she can't "create" a dead body out of somebody.
She operates under the logic that an illusion that everyone believes in is no different from reality.
Can you truly prove that our own everyday lives are "real"?
That's what I said, Anon. Even if they could affect the pure world, the very act of using magic to do so would taint the pure world, making it impossible to achieve.
The volume is pretty good so far though.
Remember how everyone thought Kakine being defeated by a beetle was ridiculous when the spoilers for NT6 came out?
So if Othinus slapping filters on the world creates alternate worlds, and thus alternate versions of people, is Imagine Breaker is the 'Pure World' form of Kamijou Touma?
Aleister is trying, and Othinus said that she was the one who came the closest
Seeing how Aiwass is Aleister's teacher, Aiwass may actually be from the pure world
Like most of /a/ doubts the volume again turned out pretty amazing. So I'm pretty happy they are real.
WAit, wait, wait.
If there was a world in which all magic was impossible, then who created the 'first' filter than made magic possible?
It's especially tricky because the "original" world already had tons of filters over it.
If you call these new worlds illusions then Touma's world is also an illusion, albeit an older and longer lived one.
If God made the universe who made God?
Questions like that generally don't have good answers. Kamachi will probably Kamachi something up though.
Where is this even from?
Chapter 7, js finished it not too long ago
Not known. Likely, people thought of things like religion and magic. But, those can't exist in the pure world. So that created 'filters' or new worlds, where it was possible. But that didn't affect the pure world.
It's likely that beings like Othinus, the Abrahamic god and the like were all created by filters. They aren't omni-potent, because they can't affect the true world.
It was probably created when magic was.
So the world of To Aru Majutsu no index is just a daydream of a daydream of a daydream etc etc of a bunch of people living in the 'real' world?
Daydream isn't the right word to use in this situation i would think
This is some CHIM shit
I want to watch Index, but I'm afraid that it won't be worth the time.
Can someone give me a solid reason to watch it without spoilers?
No. If you can't bother to think of a reason why you should read something you haven't, why the hell should I?
There is no reason to watch.
Read it if you like the Nasuverse (or that kind of thing in general). If you don't, don't read it.
Or just try it out and stop reading if you don't like it, which is generally the best method.
It's probably time better spent than asking strangers on an image board what shows are worth watching.
Screw off, you're as bad as the rec threads.
That's pretty much it. One of the reasons that most of the truly high-level beings in To Aru Majutsu seem so ethereal in nature is because they're aware of the fact that they aren't 'real' per say. The only real thing in the entire verse is likely Imagine Breaker, and possible whatever poor sod is attached to it.
The fun thing was, this was hinted ages ago. Think about it: Luck isn't real. Things happen because of chains of observable events. But in To Aru Majutsu no Index, luck is a real thing. Except for Touma, because he's got Imagine Breaker, which elminates things that only exist because of the filters. Like luck.
Touma hasn't got good or bad luck. He's just a clumsy teenager.
You read the LN's, don't watch it
Fuck off cancer
Then why does he keep getting involved in horrible situations?
Why are you all replying to obvious bait?
>He's just a clumsy teenager.
That's why sprinklers just happen to malfunction when he's under them.
That's why he keeps nearly dying every other week.
That's why he got his arm sliced off three fucking times.
It's because he's clumsy.
Ever heard of the Anthropic Principle? Same basic thing applies to fiction. If there wasn't a story we wouldn't be reading it because it wouldn't exist.
The horrible situations keep getting involved with him
Why wouldn't I? Because it's a waste of time? Just where do you think you are?
>It's likely that beings like Othinus, the Abrahamic god and the like were all created by filters. They aren't omni-potent, because they can't affect the true world.
Now Aleister's reason to look for something beyond "level 6" makes sense.
He isn't interested in level 6 because a level 6 still wouldn't be able to tamper with the Pure World, just like a Magic God isn't able to.
Except Kamachi's stated that the reason shit keeps happening to him is BECAUSE of his misfortune.
Because he lives in a supernatural hotspot and Crowley is planning something that involves him.
Him meeting Index is certainly somewhat unlikely, but improbable is not impossible. Once that happened, most all events that followed were directly related to either Index, him living in Academy City, or him possessing Imagine Breaker. Or they weren't related to him at all, and he just sought them out.
Alright, back to clarify.
With my PTjob and studies I don't have too much time to watch shows. I've had a few shows that start horribly and end up getting better after the rough start, but some shows just get really bad, really quick after a promising start so I don't want to end up wasting my already minimal time on things I will drop.
I seem to usually agree with the general consensus of /a/ on shows (inb4 there is not general consensus on /a/). Not trying to dig out recommendations, otherwise I would be asking you guys for a list of anime to watch. I'm just asking if Index has an aspect about it that makes it really worth the watch.
You don't watch Index.
That'd be like watching Fate/stay night instead of reading the VN.
No, those happen because he get's involved with mages and espers on a daily basis.
Apart from the sprinklers malfunctioning. That's just an unfortunate and improbable event.
Pretty sure his misfortune's the real deal.
Thing is, this is JAPANESE misfortune we're talking about. Japan believes that you need a certain amount of luck to escape misfortune. That's why "normal luck" fortunes still have "luck" in them, because it's believed that all humans have a certain degree of luck.
Complete absence of luck is what invites misfortune. So Touma's lack of "luck" in the first place IS, in fact, what keeps bringing him misfortune, because he doesn't have the bare minimum of luck necessary to escape it.
I'm trying not to use the word unfortunate here.
As others have stated, watching anything in Raildex ain't a good idea. It can be fun but doesn't really go beyond that.
Railgun manga and Index LN are good, the rest is trash. Well, Index Manga gets some good art later on at least.
Don't know how much this will help, but I am not trying to troll you. I've just seen a shitload of Index threads and I was wondering if it was actually a good show or it was something /a/ jokes about. I've watched the first season of Railgun and the first three or four episodes of Index, but I am not sure if I like it or not. Does it get better?
It has a man double punching loli nuns
Touma has 0 luck, everyone else in the world has a higher base level of luck, so unfortunate events are more likely to happen to the person with the lowest amount of luck, which always happens to be Touma.
But that would imply that the 'pure world' is naturally unlucky, which would seem rather stupid.
I suppose that it might be that Touma lives in a world that requires a certain degree of luck, yet he has no luck. He's not technically unlucky, but his absolute lack of any form of luck is pretty much identical, at least within the world filter he's in.
>I was wondering if it was actually a good show or it was something /a/ jokes about
>I don't have too much time to watch shows because of my studies
You're still asking this thread to spoonfeed you about something that's subjective as fuck anyway.
This pure world talk is giving me a headache.
Railgun S's Sister's Arc is pretty good, the Study arc after that is awful.
Index anime is pretty hit and miss.
Just read it.
At least we got specula to talk about other than "could x beat accelerator"
The fact, Touma IS less fortunate than the average person. Even putting aside all the world-ending catastrophes, shit will still happen to him. Taking that sprinkler example, let's say that a sprinkler is right on the verge of malfunctioning. The moment Touma walks right under it, there's a higher probability that it will break down and soak him than it would if someone else were to do so.
His misfortune is the real deal.
>Touma getting mindfucked
>Odin was actually a grill, but historians are shit
>To aru majutsu world is an alternate world to the 'pure world', which is what literally every major villain is trying to access
>all magic, luck and everything supernatural are all caused by filters
>the real world has no magic or espers
>the abilities of people like Izzard have to be re-examined because of this new info
This novel has been a mindfuck for the audience too.
That's a harsh way of putting it, but true nonetheless. I just figured it was a better method than just trying to force myself into a show and then ending up disappointed.
It might be subjective, but on the off chance that someone had given a concrete example of why to watch the show I could have made my decision based on that example.
And please no, I have already enjoyed my weekly dosage of cock.
Remember how DRAGON referred to Satan himself previously than Aiwass and now probably refers to IB?
If Satan is the closest being to God and is like IB, an absolute destroyer, then the absolute creator is probably the God of Testament.
Actually, if you think about it, Imagine Breaker CAN'T be a product of the "pure world". It is something that only shows its power when there are filters in effect. Thus, Imagine Breaker must have come into existence AT LEAST at the same time as the first filter. It couldn't have existed prior to that because there would have been no meaning in its existence otherwise.
But he hasn't got 'bad luck'. Bad luck is still luck. Imagine that normal luck is a score of 1, good luck is a score of 2 and bad luck is a score of 0.5.
Touma has a score of 0. It's not bad luck. It's zero luck. And he lives in a world where luck affects literally everything.
Lack of luck is worse than bad luck in the To aru verse.
Hey, doesn't that mean that all we think we known about his Keikaku is wrong?
He is not trying to create a new eon, he is trying to reach the original one
People have different tastes and like or hate Raildex for different reasons.
Some people like the world building while some hate it. Some like the fights while some hate it. Etc.
Basically it's the kind of series you have to try and see if you like it. Anyone pointing to something and saying "This is good" or "This is bad" is just giving you their personal opinion.
So, it's kinda like:
The characters in To Aru are in a snowglobe, and they want to break out of that snowglobe to access our world, the outside world? Is that close? Or am I mistaken?
You don't understand. "Misfortune" is something that can only exist if you lacked luck to begin with, at least in Japan. A "lack of luck and "misfortune" are the EXACT SAME THING to them.
Is the same paradox as deep blood
>Odin was actually a grill, but historians are shit
It's Nasuverse all over again.
There's apparently more exposition later in the volume that we haven't gotten to yet.
Let's just wait until it's all done guys.
Is this an Animesuki thing?
Not really. If it's from the pure world, then it's not actively destructive towards magic and the like.
It doesn't have any grander purpose. Magic just gets destroyed on contact because magic can't affect the pure world.
His misfortune is the real deal like this guy is saying. You have to remember what happened in Touma's past and how it actually spread to other people before. It wasn't until he enrolled into AC that it started limiting itself to Touma.
Ain't that just Aleister's keikaku?
Othinus just wanted to create her own pretty little filter, Fianma wanted to clean the filter that was already there and everyone else just had their own small ambition
It's more like negative luck or a permanent state of bad karma. No matter what he does his karma doesn't change from the 'you kicked a cat and tripped an old lady today. you gun get it boy' state.
Are you saying that I shouldn't trust the opinions of my peers?
Odin at least has the excuse that he often took female form to trick people.
Othinus made it sound like he's trying to actually change the original one.
Imagine the "pure world" as a canvas and the filters as paintings made on top of the canvas.
Crowley is trying to create a knife that carves a picture directly into the canvas itself.
Eh. Then I'm just missing the cultural bit.
I don't think it actually spread to other people, they just used him as a scape goat.
It didn't spread to others.
Touma just had bad shit happen to him a lot and people started to believe that he was in fact the cause of their own misfortune as well. Touma didn't cause that one guy to get laid off. The guy just blamed Touma for it because he was a superstitious idiot.
>It wasn't until he enrolled into AC that it started limiting itself to Touma.
You mean it wasn't until Crowley did something Touma, I.E. put the invisible thing in him.
This is not a complex issue. Unless I knew everything about your personal tastes and likes and dislikes, I can't tell you if you'll like it and neither can anyone else. And i'm not all that interested in doing that anyways.
Just try it and read it if you like it and stop reading if you don't. It's not a lifestyle choice for god's sake.
This is true. But I'm saying that that's a purely a result of living in a world where the vast majority of superstitions are true.
If he lived in the Pure World, his lack of luck wouldn't affect him at all, since things like superstition, magic and luck have no power there,
This is pretty much why luck always plays such a huge role in Japanese video games.
To them, luck is something absolutely vital in daily life. Without it, you're fucked no matter how skilled you are. Video game luck is simply a reflection of their beliefs and culture.
America isn't as superstitious so we treat the luck in video games like it's unnecessary, but to them, it's almost as important as skill.
I'm pretty sure that in this case, it's more that she occasionaly took on a male form.
BUT I HATE WAITING
I WANT TO KNOW NOW
although, the sign of a good story is the reader desperately wanting to know more
He said his plan was similar to Fiamma's
Maybe he is trying to "clean" the original world
Wouldn't be surprised in the least.
Can you imagine the sex if Touma married her? It'd be like that Dragon Quest Doujin.
I like how we're all just assuming we fully understand what the "pure world" is based on the limited amount of exposition given to us so far.
Based on our current definition, the pure world must not have been as pure as anyone thought, considering that it still allowed for shit like magic and gods to crop up. So clearly, there was some impurity present in the universe from the very, very beginning.
i have to say i agree with them to some extent
i mean, even if you drive safely, you can't control everything else on the road, right? ie drunk drivers, pileups, etc
holy shit I need hentai on this stat.
>We'll never get it because it'll never be animated
Aspergillus has read the novels at least.
But that's the thing. They don't exist there. The moment they exist, they form a new filter.
The fact that a filter can even be set up in the first place proves that the world was never completely "pure".
This is pretty much how I see it.
But the important thing is that Biri is still going to get the T, right?
T is too busy sniffing the O.
If I'm looking at a pastoral view, and I put a grey filter over it to make it look like a modern FPS, I haven't actually changed anything. The original view is still the same, I've just created a new, seperate view.
The original view is still pure.
Hijacked by Will-tan, sure.
>The realization that Biri probably smells like ozone i.e. burnt rubber
Given how little emphasis she was given in the other worlds, I don't know.
Where did the grey filter come from? It didn't come from nowhere. It must have come from somewhere. The very fact that the materials necessary to create that filter existed in the world to begin with proves that there was ALWAYS a certain amount of impurity in the universe. Otherwise, the filter simply could never have been set up. It wouldn't exist. The materials necessary for it wouldn't exist.
Hers is the second name Touma remembers right after Index's
So either NTR confirmed or he also thinks of her as a pet
Yes othinus'filters are really a factor in that
More like as an electrical appliance.
He can use her to charge up his phone.
Aside from the Sisters, she hasn't really lost anything or anyone compared to the other characters that suffered great personal tragedies.
If you presume that they original filter was created through people's imaginations, then it's fine.
The 'pure' part almost certainly refers to the fact that it's it pure of magic or supernatural influences. But whenever somebody comes up with a new type of religion or magic or whatever, it creates a new filter from that idea.
That means that whenever you think of your waifu, there's an alternate version of the world where she exists.
You can produce impurities combining or manipulating "pure" substances
Here's how I think it all works.
The "pure world" isn't the "true world" at all. It's just a world with all of the "impurities" that would allow for these filters removed.
Consider the ocean. It's not JUST water, there's all sorts of shit in there. That's perfectly natural. The world was set up from the beginning to have a certain amount of impurity. But by separating the water from all the rest of the junk in there, while you're left with nothing but "purity", it's not exactly natural.
Academy City is like a water filter system. It "filters" the pure water by separating it from impurities, but at the same time, it's still not natural. Thing is, those impurities existed from the very beginning. That impurity is what created gods and magic. That impurity is what composed the filters that covered the world. The filters didn't come from nowhere; the materials necessary for them were ALWAYS present from the very beginning.
For instance, let's consider the following. Ley lines are a "natural" magic necessary for the world to function as it does. If the ley lines were destroyed, then the planet, too, would die. Imagine Breaker has SOME effect on those ley lines, but it's extremely minimal. Thus, Imagine Breaker was clearly, deliberately set up to only affect SOME impurities with full force but not all of them.
Suddenly, Crowley seems like the hero of the story.
From peoples minds.
The pure world doesn't have to lack things like religion. They just don't have any power there, and it's just a bunch of deluded people worshipping a statue or a cross or something.
That's because after Index, she is the person that he has interacted and shared experiences with the most.
And how would human imagination create such filters if the world wasn't set up to allow for such things to begin with?
In a truly "pure" world, human imagination wouldn't do shit.
>Crowley wants to give the people of the Pure World their waifus
I'm not sure how to feel about this.
Truly he is the hero we deserve.
So just to be clear, Othinus isn't actually the creator of the world, right?
I don't know what was going through the author's head when he wrote this volume.
Fuck no. Not even close.
Depends on which world you are asking for
>And how would human imagination create such filters if the world wasn't set up to allow for such things to begin with?
It's said the Pure World is a world of only science. What if a scientific method was put in place to create the filters, making the impure world of magic they're living now?
>Raildex Universe is The Matrix
>Imagine Breaker is The black cat
The Pure World? Not really. She is just a Impure World God.
I don't even know at this point.
I get that she's not anything close to the creator of the original world.
But she shouldn't even be close to the creator of the current To Aru Majutsu world either. I mean, the Norse religion isn't that new.
And what about the Abahamic God, or Buddha? If Odin's kicking about, why aren't they?
I might be off base but a filter doesn't affect the original pure world though. It's just adjusting how everyone perceives it.There really is no relevance between the two other than the fact that reaching the pure world is a hell of a lot harder than altering the way people view it.
He says it was about time Touma suffered a mindbreak.
My theory is that the "pure world" is merely one half of the equation. There's a "pure side" and an "impure side". A yin and a yang. Both have always existed.
What Aleister's trying to do is basically eliminate half of the equation, remove the yang so that there's only the yin left.
I can't remember what those were.
She didn't get any significant scenes though, the only one she did get was the one with Accel.
It's been a while since I left off (NT7) but holy crap. I skimmed through this thread, it sounds like a ton of shit went down in NT8.
Maybe Kamachi is God
We archives soon.
Who will save her?
She'll inevitably die without oxygen there.
Well yeah the world ended.
That's kind of a big thing
Level 5s don't die when they are killed
Is this from the manga raws?
So I heard. I need to catch up and find out just how Touma fucked up. He always cut it close but never quite let everything fall. Cept this time it seems.
No please not this again I can hear Mikoto's suffering in my head
Not his fault. His enemy this time was just too strong.
It's like a single ant trying to beat a fighter jet. Nothing it can do.
As I said earlier, the Sisters were the only thing that she lost, and it's not like she interacts with them too often anyways. In the perfect world, her life wouldn't be that different from the actual one, unlike the other characters that appeared. In fact, making her appear with Accel was a little forced.
An ant can easily mess up a plane if it gets caught in the engines
Is suicidal for the ant and unlikely to happen, but it is not impossible
But Gensei wants her alive.
The ant's on the ground and the jet's already taken flight.
And the jet is armed with a nuclear missile, ready to fire.
I mean, human beings require souls and life force to live, and those are both supernatural and natural.
No. He got the code from her. She's not necessary anymore.
And the jet smells really fucking nice.
A really badass ant could still do it
How badass are we talking here?
New thread, anyone?
The missile's already fired, anon.
It could ride the wind to get close to the jet, or grow wings and fly straight up to it
I'd say let's rest for a bit in the archive until the jsbro translates the next part.
>“What the hell am I doing here?”
>“What’s wrong with getting a little excited? Saving every last one of the 20,000 plus Sisters deserves at least this much.”
>“But it does cost a lot! Look behind you, #1. All those clones are staring restlessly at the food stands!! And Misaka Worst-chan, that mass of ill will and foundation of the Third Season project, is egging them on!!”
I'm confused, who is exactly the person with Accelerator in this scene?
Amai and Yoshikawa
The next line states that they were just watching them as Touma failed to find the source of those voices.
First line is Accelerator.
Second line has nothing distinctive, so Mikoto maybe?
I wasn't able to place the third line, but I think this anon got it: >>100867451
Mitori is going to die.
>Kihara-kun and Accelerator getting along
Just like my Pixiv fan art!
>Accel is still grumpy in the perfect world
It's not Accelerator if he's not grumpy
I have to wonder if WORST still has metal bits under her skin in this world though?
All this talk reminds me of Chrono Cross, where I believe they had a filter system to turn certain words into different character-specific words based on who was talking.
>Itsuwa nowhere to be found in the alternate worlds, even when characters like the Agnese nuns, Orsola, the slut brigade and Seria get to appear
Othinus could find no way to make her perfectly happy without the T, so she got rid of her
It is a perfect world, she has to pay for her crimes
No, Othinus couldn't find a way to make her not murder Tatemiya (and thus ruin his happiness), so she got rid of her.
She wouldn't have any crimes if the world was perfect
This is clearly what Will-chan is gonna use while convincing him not to end himself
I wonder what Will-chan is going to say to cheer up Touma. He's pretty damn broken at this point in the story.
Going by how genki she looks in her first illustration, I hope something along the lines of "Cheer up, dummy!"
I hope she hugs him, he really needs it
This Crowley documentary posted in the thread is interesting so far. Is it accurate? I don't wanna spend 2 hours on it if it has too many inaccurate things.
Dammit, who would have though that the only break Touma would get in the series is in a perfect world where he is at his lowest. It's the only time where he actually lets out all his steam and troubles too.
I really hope Kamachi milks the suffering and rehabilitation process, with plenty of Touma narrative. I just love the process of a character reaching a conclusion more than the conclusion itself.
Why is Will-chan so perfect?
Same here. Touma never really opens up to anyone in the series and this part would be a great place to show us how he really feels about everything he's done instead of just brushing it off.
While I like Mikoto, the clones and her in general are a lot better for Touma in general of how they treat him.
This is the first time he's properly opened up and it was Will-chan.
I agree. What Touma needs right now is pure love and understanding which the Will (and by extension the clones) can give him right now.
I honestly think nobody cares about her.
Doesn't Touma end up giving a four-page-long speech after this?
I'd prefer a rant or monologue more than a speech, but I sure hope so.
Hope so. He needs all the healing he can get.
Yep. He basically vents to Will-chan, iirc.
>Misaki cornered Gensei at the end of the previous Railgun chapter
>Kuroko corners Mitori at the end of the current Railgun chapter
Poor Kuroko is going to be penetrated by Mitori's tentacles next chapter.
She's screwed in both senses of the word.
His face man. Touma looks furious.
Looks more confused to me.
The perspective is confusing me. I can't tell if Touma is going to jump off but Will climbed up the side of the building like a spider or Touma just jumped off and Will poked her head over the edge or what.
It's the latter. You can see a hand-rail in front of Touma, unless you think you're supposed to walk on that.
I think he just assumed he was going to jump off a tall building and it ended up being otherwise. Will-chan came all genki and he had his "this does not fit the mood" face. Then cue depression again.
Spoilers say she kicks him onto a window washing platform.
Will-chan the saviour.
Ah, okay, now it makes sense.
What do you even say to cheer up Touma? He's pretty far gone at this point and you would have to be very persuasive to kick him out of his funk.
He mostly needs someone to vent to and just a little positive reinforcement.
Yep and some physical comfort which Will-chan provides.
I wonder if he'll sniff Will-chan, too.
Probably smells like strawberries and ozone.
I misread that as kicking him onto a washing machine, it would've been really sad if he gets an appearance and not Itsuwa
I bet she smells like rubbing alcohol.
Also someone made a new thread, migrate or keep waiting? >>100873538
What is there to talk about other than how depressing the novel is right now? We should wait for an update from js06.
Will-chan looks so happy in this picture.
Did you find that or just make that?
A friend sent it to me. Says is from the Korean Index Community. Which is also a pretty big following.
Who is a bigger jobber, Kakine or Gunha?
Kanzaki's small time compared to Kakine's jobbing.
Kanzaki at least has Norse Mythology to be a badass, Volleyball-kun is the king of being pathetic
Well shit. Did some google-fu and found a shitload of colored illustrations I've never seen before. Looks like I'll be uploading a new colored illustration batch later on.
do they have their own js06 too?
Good to hear!
Has Kakine ever defeated anyone significant other than Mugino, who is also a jobber?
I mean fuck, even Beetle 05 jobs.
Translation scene is not as active because Korea gets official release. They are up to NT7 right now, if I remember correctly.
Saiai's kinda significant...kinda
He had pretty much beaten Accel/Mugino in round 2, beetleborg just took control before he could finish them off.
He only beat Accelerator due to the whole time limit thing, though. Otherwise, it was pretty much like someone with infinite HP fighting someone with infinite HP: fucking pointless.
So, why isn't Othinus accompanying Touma during his last moments?
Touma's 4 page rant comes out to just over 1000 words in English.
Didn't it say that it might factor into his unusual misfortune and fuck it up?
yeah but in the other hand Accel and Mugino killed him more than a hundred times in less than 30 minutes
js06 can we expect a tl update tonight or tomorrow?
Damn. So we will finally hear Touma vent his troubles.
you are a true god.
You're too perfect for us.
Parts 3-7 are up:
>“Uraah /return!! I was trying to just sit by and watch, but give it a rest already, dammit /return!!!!!!”
Is the Will's program written in C?
Based. You're as perfect as always.
here’s also that Third Season, but that’s not my territory /return. She’s more like someone that’s hacked in, so I don’t really accept her /return.
Haha poor Worst.
Thank you. Man, I really wanna hear Will-chan voiced. A genki Misaka clone is something I always wanted to see.
>You need to try to drag the conversation out of me /return! Excuse me, sensei /escape? This guy’s silence is too much for me /return.”
I know it was because Accel was being stupid, but I still can't get over how mean the Will was to him.
Even if she's really nice to Touma.
Well, they have every reason to detest Accelerator.
Best girl. Really cares for Touma.
Holy hell that dialogue at the end.
We should probably have a new thread.
Accel tried his best. ;_;
Barely starting on NT1 is suffering.
Just wait. He will got his revenge. Accel and Othinus better to hide or run away now. Because in NT10 even beetle can't save him against Kakine Teitoku.
Holy fuck, the rant legitimately brought me to tears.
Well fucking done, Kamachi and jsbro.
Will-chan best grill.
Someone get me a fitting OST for Touma's rant, I still haven't gotten there.
I asked that about a week ago.
Got this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1_j-NZ1kac
What are the characters used for the Will of the Misaka Network? and is there any accompanying furigana?
総体, I believe. It's what her pixiv tag is.
Kamachi abbreviated "Will of the Whole of the Misaka Network" as the Whole or 総体, but we'd already started calling her the Will and I think it sounds better in English anyway.
Did City-kun's megaz links die...?
Damn. I wish I could see their sales figures.
He deleted them after he found out js06 got them. He didn't want the japs to get ahold of them too quickly so they wouldn't pirate it and not buy the book.
Oh god. That speech at the end killed me. I feel horrible. Touma is truly a really nice guy. Why does this have to happen to him?
Because that's how you truly appreciate him.
>No, why couldn’t she create this paradise on the moon or Mars and be happy there
This is just to make sure I got this right since I rarely ever see the moon compared with other planets, but since it's a sentence that compares celestial bodies, the moon should be capitalized for once, correct?
English has so many subtle rules it's hilarious.
Should we move over to this thread? People seem to be discussing the newest parts.
This is all your fault. Every single one of you. Your expectations of Touma is what led to this. Don't lie to yourself, you have no one to blame but yourself for what he's going through right now. It's your fault for buying Kamachi's books. It's your fault for reading these books. Why couldn't you just reject it at the start?
Sure, I suppose.
