What the actual fuck did I just read?

What does the ending even mean? Is there more to this manga than a guy shooting people in the face for 42 chapters?

This. You read Nihei for architecture. Though, BLAME! was also very good cyberpunk. Biomega turned into weird mash up of herois bang bang in the middle and Sidonia no Kishi is pretty boring with all that pointless harem stuff. (I prefer wandering around seemingly endless Megastructure than mindless harem.) The amazing architecture is Nihei's only constant quality.
>>
Fucking great... until that last volume. Seriously, was he told to wrap it up? Entire characters never mentioned or brought back, centuries of time skip, subplots vanishing into nothing.
>>
>>100835893
Those mindless harem segments are important though. Compare the development of Tsumugi to the other Gauna Chimera that went out of control.
>>
Nihei is one of the worst author ever existed, for what regards story
I can't sincerely remember anyone who did plots that starts and end nowhere like this before him.
even pixiv 4koma are more enticing.btw I heard from an editor in my country that no one in the industry wants to work with him because he is a massive selfentitled cunt...sounds kinda plausible

It's one of the very few manga where I really enjoy harem hijinks.

And it's funny how, with Nihei's sameface syndrome at its maximum, it's still a reaction faces goldmine.

So the reasons the /a/-/m/ scanlation (just random anons) stopped is because we wanted to wait on vol.11. Vol.11 was released but the scans were rather tiny and this put people off if you can find some larger scans of volume 11 feel free to post them.

At this rate I may just wait for the Vertical releases at the end of the year and scan them. Although with the anime airing soon another group may pick it up which would be nice since Vertical slow as fuck and physical manga is tiny.

It's strange for the physical releases to be this tiny. I remember to have read one French copy, and IIRC it was small too.

Well, editors are the evil people in my eyes. Your friend should kill himself. He has no right to insult a content creator because they put food on his untalented table.
>>
>>100840039
Editors block freedom in the manga industry. Yeah, they don't want to take a risk in something that might end up failing.

Then there's countless cases of good manga getting cancelled because nips don't relate to a bit of it. A good example would be Me and The Devil Blues, which got axed after 4 volumes. Then people ask why he went from doing great work like that, to doing Prison School. I'm not complaiming about Prison School, it has good art, it's funny, has great fan service, not very risky at all.

The ending shows the time when Lev meets Reload while space expedition flew on Mars to see what happened after restart <700 years from the beginning of the story and to get A-sample. All members then caught N5S virus and Lev was able to eat his wife's brains for eternity.

Blame! is definitlly some of my favorite manga

The size of everything Nihei manages to portray is incredible
>>
where do i start reading this?
seems a bit misleading seeing as how it looks like its a branching series
>>
>>100839031
He did nothing but "read" Gauna in that simulator.
>>
>>100835893
Blame! was really great. Well, I'm still not sure if I understand the ending, but the premises of the story were great and the plot developed nicely. And that unsettling feeling it gave of hopelessness and being in constant temporal and spacial disorientation was just great. The only bad thing were the faces (I see Nihei improved it since then). Oh, and I jerked off at all that scenery porn too.
>>
The ending makes sense I had to read it 2-3 times to fully understand it though
>>
>>100836229
>plots that starts and end nowhere
I thought that was the whole fucking point of Blame!
>>
>>100856096
It's not, Nihei just likes to reuse some things like the GBE, Toha Heavy Industries, Gaunas etc.
Maybe NOISE was a prequel to Blame!, but I'm not sure.
