Why do Japanese people get so excited about the beach when they cant live more than like an hour away from it no matter where they are
The same reason people in Britain or the US east coast get all excited over the Beach, despite living a couple hours away from it.
Maybe because it's more fun with your friends around? Oh wait.
They weren't excited. That was the point of that whole scene, that anime exaggerates this shit.
said, I believe this scene in tomodachi was in parody. other than that, I don't know. getting excited over the beach is something children do and anime is all about cradling/nurturing the inner child in its manchildren otaku audience. this marketing trick seeps into other aspects of anime as well.
so you have high schoolers acting childish like it's okay to act this way; you have high schoolers going UMI DA~~ (whereas normally it might be toddlers that do this).
tl;dr: otaku are manchildren, so the cast act like children. now fuck off, anime sophomore.
just because you live an hour away from a beach doesn't mean you go all the time.
I lived by the shore most of my life but almost never went to beaches, so when I did go, it was a treat.
the first time I went to a beach was one of the most mystical, awe inspiring and terrifying momments of my life.
I was 19 and it was the first time I saw the horizon.
shit was just..wow.
I want Eren or Armin to go. You have titans to kill.
same thing with me.
I lived on a mountain in Appalachia my whole life.First time I saw the ocean was in Venice Florida.
It made me dizzy seeing such flatness.
This. Not every country is a shit hole like OP's where its summer all year around and the beach is always warm.
It takes about an hour and a half to get to the beach but I've only been about 10 times. I've always wanted to live close to a beach so I could go running on it every morning.
I knew a guy in my first year in University who joined the surfing club - when he went on his first trip with them to the beach, it was the first time he had ever seen the sea.
The weird thing was that this was in England, where it's impossible to live more than ~50m or so from the sea.
He was a weird guy.
>US east coast
At least Atlantic gets some warm currents. Pacific is freezing ice pool.
>> Why do Japanese people get so excited about the beach when they cant live more than like an hour away from it no matter where they are

>> more than like an hour
I live in Japan and the fucking speed limits are bat-shit insane fucking slow. I live 3 miles from a beach and it takes me 15 minutes to get there because of the 50 kmph (31.1 mph) speed limit. Never fucking mind the goddamned twisty-turny fucking roads that make what would be a 40-mile trip into 75-mile trip--at a speedlimit of 80 kmph (49.7 mph) for kei-cars like mine. Shit, nigger, if I had a white-plate, I'd be able to legally go 100 kmph (62.12 mph).
Oh, sure, I could buck those onerous speed limits, but frankly the http://akitajet.com/wiki/Speeding_tickets goddamned insane speeding ticket fines are enough to say, fuck that shit. Oh, and assuming your a rich nigger who doesn't care, guess what, you're stuck behind a farmer-Taro who does, and won't let you pass FOREVER.
So don't go talking to me about "an hour away from the beach at most" nigger. Suck my 13-inch black dick.
I live 200 meters from the ocean, but the beach is still a little special since you don't visit it all that often.
I lived literally in a shore, so the beach was just about 20 meters from my house. I would go running there every morning, but I almost never went into the ocean, because after a while, you realize that pools are superior.
he's not going to fuck the blonde, he'll fuck his childhood friend
Those are cheaper than the speeding tickets in murrica except for the ~$600 one.
Which blonde? The imouto or Sena? Cause he does apparently have two childhood friends
Because despite what it looks like in the Japanese cartoons, it isn't always so warm and cozy that you can enjoy the beach.
Then why don't you outrun the cops?
>Live <100m away from the beach
>Haven't actually swam in it over a year
>Yet i get excited when i travel and see snow
>While the locals just walk around like it's nothing and complain about having to clean it up
You enjoy what you barely see.
>Live 15 min from the beach
>Go with family every other weekend, get your ass kicked by the waves
The ocean can kiss my ass.
Someone fund this anon's UMI DA, I want to see it.
What the hell is that girl on the right wearing?
Is she gonna practice her miming techniques in the goddamn beach?
>not miming on the beach
>not wanting to see a mime impression of UMI DA
Plebbest of tastes.
I bet even if you live in a seaside town you wake up to the sounds of UMI DAAAA! every morning.
Same reason I live on long island and all my jew friends get excited to go to overcrowded public beaches like ones beach.
>have lived in two places where it takes five minutes to walk down some cliffs to the beach
Why is the 3D world so dull and lifeless?
Eh, maybe on Australia Day I'll go - provided there haven't been mass riots.
Because it wasn't a sunny day.
its not australia day without some ethnic cleansing
I live on LI too, and I know this feel so hard.
It's pretty common among non-jews too though
That made me a lot sadder than it should have, anon.
It's more that anime is really bright and colorful.
According to the Wikipedia entry for the Cronulla Riots, our top two weapons of choice are the beer bottle and sausage.
>Live 30 seconds away from the beach for nearly 25 years
>Pretty much never go anymore
>Co-workers think I'm nuts.
You just get burnt out after a while. I used to dread the coming of summer, since that meant crowds, no parking, noise, kids, more crowds.
Did that person go there in autumn or something?
Post-tsunami trash maybe?
Live 5 minutes from sea, would go there every other week as a kid with my sisters. Now 25 and live on my own and haven't gone in the sea for over 3 years. Might go this weekend as I have to see my parents.
Video was 2013
He's some guy who goes around places and shows where anime has been filmed, even traveled to the UK once for shitty-should-not-name-moeblob-anime.
>He's some guy who goes around places and shows where anime has been filmed
Having time and money to waste must feel great.
>mfw i live in seaside city
>mfw rainy season + high tide
>mfw bad city planning
>mfw every year have flooding
>mfw i can't leave this shit until i finished college
>mfw i fucking hated water so much in my entire life
What country is that?
Most beaches in Japan are cold and dirty, especially north of Kyushu. So when they go to the beach they're going to one of the few warm, sub-tropical beaches, which exist only in the southern half of the country.
you can never be FREE
It's common among everyone, I just said jews since LI is stereotypically jewish
where in LI?
you deserve pain
>Live in seaside city
>It's cold and raining
>50 foot waves
>Snow on the mountains
>Hail on the beach
>Tourists parking everywhere and backing up traffic because the weather is so fucking weird
just give skype or something.
Because UMI DA!
