So, I just finished episode 9, and the only redeeming feature of GTO is still the opening.

Why the fuck do people like this show so much? It's so fucking generic and predictable, and the only mildly interesting character in the entire show is Onizuka; who, of course, is nearly flawless save a lack of skill with girls; a nice way to help the delusional target audience relate.

What am I supposed to be getting here? The jokes are lame and dull, the art and animation are both incredibly lackluster (even by early-00s standards), and the writing is painfully cliche.

Does it suddenly stop being an unfunny snorefest at some point? I'd really like to know before I drop this fucking turd.

2/10 I clicked on the thread

Adaptation was too quality.

Not trolling. Please, tell me what is so great about GTO.

Not that I expect it's fans to be able to put forth anything convincing, given how much of a shiteater you'd have to be to consider this show good.

anime sucks but the manga is absolutely amazing. I don't know what sorry sap recommends the anime asides from its ost
>>
It feels good to watch Onizuka succeed, and to watch the kids overcome their problems. Does there need to be anything else?
>>

It becomes more of a dramedy soon..
Wait for it

My first experience with GTO was the live-action adaptation. I loved it, and everyone I introduced it to loved it, too.

I liked it so much, I went and tried out the anime.

Dropped it after episode 1. It stunk, and I had no idea how the live-action could pull off a better adaptation than an anime.

Yeah, how about some interesting characters to make people give half a shit? Everyone has a paper-thin personality and characterization played mainly for giggles, and then the audience is expected to take the "touching" moments seriously?

It's fucking cringeworthy how dumb the show is. I don't get the hype at all.

Yeah, sure it is.

That series changed my life and made the man I am now.

Then why are you still posting on 4chan?

I really enjoyed the anime. I don't know, I just enjoyed the character interactions and jokes and such. I didn't like the srs bzns arc with the girl who could speak Chinese though.

He never said it changed for the better, anon.

He's so amazing he knew a post like yours would be posted, was here to intercept it and answer appropriately, and will now return to his fantastic life.

C'mon, didn't you know?

It's fun, it's funny (reaction faces are quality, no viable counterargument possible), and Onizuka's amusingly alpha in a historical sea of beta MCs.

If any of this needs to be explained or expounded upon for you to understand, it's pointless in the first place. Enjoy your shit taste.

Never watched the anime.

It gets redundant - solve his student social/life problems, but it's fun to see what kind of shit Onizuka gets himself into and how he can do inhumanly impossible things in a 'real life' setting. The gags and reactions from the characters are great.
