Youtube "anime channel"

I'm curious, /a/. There are mounds upon mounds of gaming related youtube and such channels which have made a name for themselves. As well as other niche and general youtube channels that have managed to become so popular they work as a source of primary income for their operators. Much of this happens through sponsors and such, merchandise giveaways funded by said sponsors and etc..

But I have never seen a youtube channel of this type that covers anime or similar weeaboo type material. Is it simply because the audience isn't big enough? or is it because the audience isn't really interested in what someone on youtube might think/review about the latest and great anime of the past? or is it because almost every video you come across is produced by an obnoxiously autistic that sounds like he's trying to talk to a bunch of 10 year old as their superior?

I am really curious. It doesn't seem like the audience is small, in all honesty it seems as big as the gaming market and likely encompasses many of the same audience.

Would you think that if a truly passionate and more... "professional" youtube caster came along and provided weekly/daily/whatever segments detailing new and interesting information surrounding anime, would be successful? whether it was new Japanese releases/TV runs, official English releases, new and upcoming 'sure to appeal' series, critical analysis, or etc..
I mean possibilities from this might pop up where local distributors offer merchandise along with sponsorship if it got popular enough, which might catapult such an idea into a higher category of popularity than has been seen until that point.

Please, share your thoughts, the subject interests me as i've been discussing youtube personalities and successful channels with a few people lately.

Yes.

dont even, they are all fags, anime man is gone.

Not only is this shit, but it goes on /jp/

Why the fuck do you need some retard to tell you about that when there are already thousands of anime news websites out there.

>the subject interests me as i've been discussing youtube personalities and successful channels with a few people lately.

Kill yourself.

OP here. I understand that to /a/ specifically, this type of thing probably isn't of much interest, since /a/ is a fairly in-depth fan directed community, most of you already delve right into all the information you might want or need. Just as a journalist or news.com reader wouldn't bother with say... Phillip DeFranco or The Young Turks, most likely. So outside of opportunities to win free Buyfag gear, a channel like this probably has very little appeal outside of pure boredom.

But do you think it would benefit the non-/a/ type viewer or the ex-/a/ type person who no longer has the time and would rather just go to a one-stop sort of thing to see a review on this year's anime or similar.

I mean, it might even kill many of the recommendations threads that /a/ loathes so much.
Yearly/seasonal roundups of the best/worst series. Of course, at the discretion of the channel operator's judgment and opinion, or do you think a channel operator should try to stay as objective as possible without an opinion?
I spose that would depend if they're going for a purely information based channel/show/whatever or going for that whole "youtube personality" thing.

>>100813087
It's anime related. goiing to /jp/ would simply get the same response of go to /a/.

>>100813105
I don't need it, nor does anyone here (as I addressed in this post), but it might have it's place.

>Kill yourself.
I present the task to you.
>>
>>100813257
If you yourself are admitting you are not from here, and that you know we don't we a shit, why bother? We don't give a shit by our very nature and never will, fuck off.

No one here gives a fuck about them. Take your shitty thread elsewhere. Just go to those websites where those retards that you want to create a channel for lurk.

Why the fuck do you insist on talking about this shit, here on /a/?
>>
>>100813357
I didn't say anything about not being from here. Been here since '04.

>>100813426
Because /a/ could use some flavour.
>>
>>100813257
Why would we even want stupid fucks more interested in anime? You are not fooling anyone retard, it's clear as day you just want to make a stupid youtube channel yourself and want /a/'s opinion.
>>
>>100813504

>Because /a/ could use some flavour.

No one wants your shit flavour on this board, go somewhere else.
>>
>>100813504
I don't remember ordering casual flavour.

We already made a wiki years ago if you remember too, when wikis were all the rage, and no one gave a shit
>>
>>100813533
I wasn't trying to fool anyone. I think it is quite obvious I am playing with the idea?

>>100813588
You think /a/ is your little in-group? you sure seem to think /a/ is a hive mind and you are somehow at the apex enough to express opinions for them.

>>100813721
Wikis aren't everyone's thing. I am not talking about appealing to the "self motivated" types of people here.
You know the types who for example, in an online game, would rather spam General chat with questions about the game mechanics or similar when a 3 second trip to (ironically) Youtube would explain in 5 minutes rather than someone replying to them in walls of text.

Overall, i'm just playing with the idea. Could it be as successful as a gaming or similar youtube channel if given the right type of preparation and setup?
Just as there are hundreds of websites for gamers and their communities, there are plenty for anime, but that doesn't stop the gaming community from having very successful youtube/twitch/etc.. personalities.

I'll leave it at that. I won't reply/bump the thread anymore unless someone actually says something that seems like they want a reply.
>>
Has someone posted that horrific buyfag video.

Someone do and let that be known as the reason for why anime channels are shit.
>>
>>100814171

>You think /a/ is your little in-group? you sure seem to think /a/ is a hive mind and you are somehow at the apex enough to express opinions for them.

Look at this thread. Look at the replies you're getting. Why the fuck do you insist on going when it's clear that no one wants your shit.

Do you think /a/ is you're little in-group that gives a shit about your thoughts and opinions?
>>
>>100814342
I assume you want a reply, so; No I do not. I however think they might have some valuable insight and critique towards the idea.

And before you rant off, ranting off at the hip about how "shit doesn't belong here" and etc.. is not insight or critique.

You don't have to partake in or watch sport to understand that say.... sport is generally good for your health and many people absolutely love watching it. And even listening to the opinions of commentators or similar.

And yes I note that /a/ is rather resilient to these types of discussions. Doesn't mean there isn't a % that might give a shit or give a thinly veiled stealth critique in the guise of an insult like the rest.

Report and Hide if you truly believe this isn't anime related and you don't like it. It's not some sign of weakness or some shit.
>>
>>100814658
If I report and hide I let a small minority speak for the rest, So I will continue to voice my opinion.

Fuck off.
>>
>Majority of gaming channels are shit
>Majority of internet personalities are faggots
>Majority of anime fanbase are full of faggots
>Majority of people just getting into anime are morons

Why do I want any of these things again?
>>
>>100814658

>You don't have to partake in or watch sport to understand that say.... sport is generally good for your health and many people absolutely love watching it. And even listening to the opinions of commentators or similar.

And there are times and places to have certain discussions you autist. You don't start trying to talk about basketball when everyone is focused on watching a chess match.

Go somewhere else where this type of discussion is appropriate ( there are literally hundreds of other websites you could be having this discussion on ), you fuck, instead of trying to force your dumb discussion on everyone else here on /a/.

>Report and Hide if you truly believe this isn't anime related and you don't like it.

Or you could just do everyone a favour and fuck off.
