In Gungrave we have:
>Big Daddy Asagi
>the Tokioka brothers
And the most Japanese character in the entire show is Bear Walken.
Takes place on Gunsmoke, not Earth. Baka.
Well that would explain some things.
bear is goat
This would have been a lot better without this "superior" shit
He's not Japanese though. He's just a weeaboo.
>has an old Japanese-style house with a dojo
>uses a katana
And the necrolyzing. In fact, the series should have ended after the elevator episode and the first episode should have never happened.
I liked the ending though, to exclude it feels like a mistake
That would make for a shitty ending. The necrolyzing stuff and seeing how far his former friends have fallen was depressing. The ending was glorious.
you could have pulled off the ending without going the necro route, simply have Brandon not die in the elevator scene but mortally wounded and disappear from the scene while Harry takes over, without any of the silly shit, just a classic coup d'état
then Brandom comes back and takes on Harry
you could have literally the same plot without all the bullshit
oh the wasted potential
It wouldn't have been Gungrave though without the necrolysing.
>oh the wasted potential
Gungrave is flawed but not wasted potential. Also any other anime about mafiosos?
Well yea didn't argue with that but the post I was replying to said "end it after the elevator episode" which is just wrong.
Wasted potential? Gungrave was still awesome
the first half is one of my all time favorite anime, i feel like it could of been so much better if Bradon went count of Monte Cristo on harry instead of undead gunslinger and it could of kept the same ending.
The games are superior to the anime, people whining about the deadmen might as well go cap themselves.
I would have been fine with just 'Gun'
i remember how i found gungrave, my faggot friend told me to watch it and said its amazing so i did, turns out he only watched the first episode and dropped it when it turned into a crime drama. no surprise the guy loves sao
>turns out he only watched the first episode and dropped it when it turned into a crime drama
I am appalled by this amount of bad taste
That would have been horrible. It was a beautiful story about friendship even through betrayal. Not betrayal and tragedy.
