Marimite thread to celebrate the announcement of the season box sets
I tried in the afternoon, but apparently celebrating slowly is preferred here.
Gimme 4th season.
Also, no dub.
Right Stuf is fucking awesome.
Though I am a little sad Emma got no dub. It could have been good.
Best: If Emma dub was handled by the BBC.
Alas. MOAR MARIMITE
This is how all series should be released.
I'm afraid they'd R.O.D. OVA it and have Americans forcing British accents..ugh. If done right with legitimate British voice actors, the dub could have been perfect. No Japanese words to fumble over or what not.
No thanks. I wouldn't mind this though.

OH FUCK WHAT THE SHIT
I WAS AT SCHOOL FOR 10 HOURS, WHAT'S GOING ON
sage for viral marketing
Pay attention /a/non!
is rightstuf licensing it? nothign to celebrate about. all of their dvd encodes sucks massive ass. they all look like shit. like half quality of fansubs, with a noise filter added.
I was kind of hoping it never would be, because it would leave me with absolutely 0 choice in purchasing it.
But it's welcome news, they've got my 38 bux
Tell me more.
OH FUCK, A BOX SET.
Finally. It only took 4 years for this shit to get licensed.
FUCK THERE'S ALWAYS A CATCH
boogie pop phantom region 1. go see. it's made of CANT SEE SHIT CAPTAIN
Examples? Reviews? Maybe not so great news then.
That must have been one expensive license
Agreed. Muddy as fuck, alot of noise, and they fucked up the fields.
DVD fags got screwed over.
i got my Simouns, i gots my Marimites, i gots my Giant Robos and Gurren Laganns
life is good.
wait wait wait. rightstuf is picking up the ttgl r1? FUCK. that was gonna be the only dvd set i buy this decade
No, ADV. He's just talking about r1 dvd releases this year in general
Blu-ray release? Or just dvd?
You faggots. Boogiepop Phantom was put out 5 years ago. Hell, the thinpack is over 2 years old. Do you not think they improved on encoding? Funimation had the same problem but they recently made changes to improve their product. You can't just Maria-sama based on outdated practices.
You crack me up, anon.
Their restoration of To Heart sucked balls.
How does the unrestored To Heart look?
fukken bought for once
What? Do I have to dig up my subs for it now? Not that it will look much better considering the age it was subbed and encoded in, probably far less artifacts though.
No I'm just curious as to whether you're saying To Heart actually looks bad, or if you're complaining that it's doesn't look good enough for what you expect out of a remaster.
Well be buying.
The first season will ship in a US$49.99 DVD box with Japanese dialogue and English subtitles on July 29 (with pre-order discounts available), and the other two seasons will follow in DVD boxes at unspecified dates. Right Stuf says it will include the "specials" — comedic shorts that depict the series' characters in "chibi" form — for their respective season
