After hearing so much praise about Ashita no Joe and how influential it was, I kinda want to start reading it. The issue is there's only 13 volumes out of 20 currently translated, as far as I know. What shall I do?
Hold that shit until Hox finds time to finish it.
Tried to read it but the art really turned me off. I can't wait till the last 9 episodes of the anime are translated so I can watch it, it looks good as hell. Sadly the second movie is translated but the first isn't for whatever reason
Is this better than Ippo?
What the fuck is Hox doing, then? If you're going to pick up a project, don't work on it once in a blue moon.
It's completely different in that Ashita no Joe is about a young man dealing with being rejected by society, while Hajime no Ippo is basically about the strategic elements of boxing plus GOAT SoL comedy. I'd say Joe's fights are much more exciting, if I'm comparing the only overlap they have.
Probably real life shit, or needs help with it he can't find. I'm not hox, so I wouldn't know.
From what I've heard, Ashita no Joe is more a drama story with social commentary undertones. Ippo is a great boxing manga, not much more.
Hox is translating a shitboat of other good stuff as well, you transexual craplord.
Who would win in a fight, Ippo or Joe?
Not to mention the post WW2 Japanese depression vibe going on
