Who else got their preorder today???
Does even /v/ like this anymore?
>watching the animu industry you love crash and burn
>not doing anything about it
No, but hopefully I'm getting it tomorrow
It's great. I just finished reading. The production quality is as good as the first Yen Press volume.
The binding is a little tight though. There are some bubbles near the center of the page that are tough to read without opening it too far and bending the spine.
Animu can go to hell
I'll support mangos though
>by buying licensed releases
OP isn't helping a damn thing.
Did you pre-ordered the 3rd one ?
Watamote: A Story of My Life.
>spreading the word in the anglosphere of the superiority of shit not licensed by 4kids
>paying money for anything
I got my first volume last month (it takes one month to import from BD ) and I can't order the second and third one until next month because the dollar went crazy here and I don't have enough money right now.
Fuck my third world shithole and my buyfaggotry.
>that feel when CFK shits on your animu
Mine doesn't come till next week.
>not putting all your money in dogecoins
I preordered them all as soon as they became available.
The translation is far better than what World Three puts out and if it's anything like the last volume, entire scenes can be mistranslated.
There are a lot more words in the print edition, but does it fit to what the original says?
I have my doubts a group of fans rushing out a translation a couple days after release are going to be as accurate as a company with people who's only job is to translate.
That pic makes me so sad...
Please don't be upset anon ;_;
That's not really such a great argument. The licensors' usual mistake is to excessively localize. Yen Press seems not to have done so, but then again... I suspect that in >>100749873 the "Onee-chan" was what she was actually saying.
Is anyone planning to scan them?
>a company with people who's only job is to translate.
That doesn't really much. Just because you're paid doesn't guarantee quality, especially when it comes to manga translations. Dorohedoro's english releases for example, were inconsistent and messy.
Except that as far as the anime scene is concern, official translations aren't always better and fan translations can and have been shown to be just as good or better.
trips for truth
Dammit, the only way to tell which are good is by LEARNING Japanese
... And that makes reading translated works altogether redundant!
>implying you can't tell if the translation is good by looking at the original with a rudimentary knowledge of japanese plus a dictionary
No, go buy them yourself.
.. which would mean you learned Japanese.
Nope. But I can still figure shit out. And I enjoy reading it translated because holy fuck, I can't read that fast, and not without a dictionary, and how is that entertaining for me?
>Nope. But I can still figure shit out.
That doesn't make sense. Language, specially like Japanese, is a highly contextual thing. Dictionary may help with the basics but it's not going to help you get the culture references and so on unless you actually learn the language properly.
Ah forget it, I don't even know what the heck you're on about anyway.
Verifying the translation is not nearly as hard as translating it in the first place. Seriously. Try it sometime.
You go and tell me if it's translated properly.
And as I said,
>Dictionary may help with the basics but it's not going to help you get the culture references and so on unless you actually learn the language properly.
>Seriously. Try it sometime
Bitch, I've been translating manga for quite a while, I'm not just making shit up.
>Verifying the translation
Let me just ask you one last thing, how do you verify if you don't know if the raw has any mention to cultural contexts and what not? Dictionary explanations doesn't cover to that level.
Forget it, that faggot's obviously one of those retards who bitch about how anime fansubbers' translations wrong because it doesn't conform to their basic mediocre understanding of japanese.
I'm jonesin' for some Mote but I will buy it together with other stuff.
Hot damn Tomoko looks pretty there
Nah, but it's set to be delivered tomorrow along with some volumes of DMC
Got mine yesterday, haven't looked through it yet though
Ain't seen nothing yet.
I want to marry her quite badly right now
I buy manga because you can read it anywhere. Besides, I get most of my manga from embarrassed people that used to like anime/manga and want to just get rid of everything that reminds them of their anime phase.
>becoming a normalfag after experiencing the wonders of 2D
But would you be a good provider and influence?
I'll be her house-husband. I'll make her sparkling clean, and put up with all her silly ideas. Try to make some money off the internet too.
