Studio Ghibli is to anime what Call of Duty is to videogames.
If you like studio ghibli then fair enough, but just know that:
-you are casual as fuck
-your taste is extremely plebeian
-your taste is lower than the lowest common denominator of taste
-you do not have the credentials to judge other's tastes when yours is so primitive and inferior
-your standard of taste is appalling
-rather than watching studio ghlibli to distract your wretched soul from the endless void of lonliness that your will must endure, you watch studio ghibli simply for social acceptance
-you enjoy eating shit and asking for more
-you are supporting the casualisation and westernisation of anime
-you don't belong on /a/
A true /a/non
What is your definition of having taste? Mine is "being able to watch anime and enjoy it" which you clearly don't know how to do, OP. I pity you
>Guys seriously stop liking what I don't like.
>A true /a/non
op is speaking the truth
I've wanted to make a thread like this for a long time
I'm glad anime doesn't control my life
>>-you are supporting the casualisation and westernisation of anime
>>quit making me feel less special! My waifu is all I have!
>I'm a casual
go back to MAL.
Except Ghibli anime are actually good and Call of Duty is not.
>Feeding the troll
>Studio Ghibli is to anime what Call of Duty is to videogames.
The comparison doesn't work.
>If you like studio ghibli then
>-you are casual as fuck
>-your taste is extremely plebeian
>-your taste is lower than the lowest common denominator of taste
>-you do not have the credentials to judge other's tastes when yours is so primitive and inferior
>-your standard of taste is appalling
Opinions and mostly redundant
>-rather than watching studio ghlibli to distract your wretched soul from the endless void of lonliness that your will must endure, you watch studio ghibli simply for social acceptance
There are people who have no hope of social acceptance that enjoy Ghibli films
>-you enjoy eating shit and asking for more
Opinion, as the first set.
>-you are supporting the casualisation and westernisation of anime
Japanese animation as a whole was influenced by Western animation. Ghibli's works are very close to the old pre-cost-cutting anime. If you knew anything about the history of anime, you'd know this.
>you don't belong on /a/
Call of duty is alright I think.
I've already sank about 50 hours into ghosts.
the cod of anime is loli/Sol
I mean... Ghibli did real good things for anime being seen as a legitimate medium. I think that you're looking at this to a stupid extreme and should have said that "if all you like is Ghibli then you are destroying anime" instead of saying that simply liking it makes you have poor taste. What you said makes you look like a douchebag who takes himself too seriously.
If you've never watched Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart, Laputa or Nausicaa, I wouldn't take your opinion on anime very seriously.
Ghosts was the worst CoD, you really do have shit taste.
Ghibli is overrated as fuck, CoD is not highly rated in the first place.
No, I'd say MW3 was.
MW2 was the best. So many hilarious and wacky glitches. The javelin suicide glitch was probably the best ever.
Watched the latest movie last week, The Wind Rises.
8/10 pretty good. It's quite unlike any other Ghibli movie, but it was still entertaining. It doesn't rouses emotions like Spirited Away or Nausicaa, it's more calming. 10/10 music and animation, VAs are a bit strange (MC is voiced by HIDEAKI ANNO) and the Magic Mountain part made little sense to me at first.
The only thing in common with them is that they have a large audience. It's like saying Beethoven is to music as the Big Mac is to hamburgers.
>a true /a/non
>if you like x then you don't belong here
Holy shit just kill yourself you fucking autist
Why did your post make me want to get a Big Mac while listening to Beethoven's 5th?
Glad we cleared that up, anon.
Shall we get back to talking about Yuru Yuri or the latest harem adaption now?
>The Wind Rises.
>MC is voiced by HIDEAKI ANNO
That sure is a weird choice. But it goes on to show Miyazaki and Anno are bros I guess?
I'm not sure, but it sounds like a good time.
>It's like saying Beethoven is to classical music as the Big Mac is to hamburgers
fix'd, anime is a specific type of visual media as classical music is of music. Also the sentence now happens to be true,
I agree, if you aren't a huge fan of the latest ecchi harem adaptation you better kill yourself.
Welcome to neo daytime /a/
>tfw never seen castle in the sky
Is it good? I think it's the only Miyazaki film I haven't seen now.
I mean, when MC is 18 years-old, he has Anno's voice. He also repeats UTZUKUSHI at least 20 times.
It's like casting Wakamoto to play a preschooler. I didn't really like his job.
Someone bomb this thread with loli gore please.
>If you like studio ghibli then fair enough, but just know that:
'If you like' ≠ 'If you ONLY like'. I agree with you when people lick Miyazaki's balls like they are made of chocolate, but Ghibili has some great films that every anime fan should respect.
That's not Naruto, or any other popular generic shounenshit for that matter that just refuse to end because, gotta milk that fucking cash cow.
Ghibli movies are what Nintendo are for video games. Mainly for kids, can be enjoyed by the entire family.
You take you try hard shit elsewhere /v/ermin.
>you are supporting the casualisation and westernisation of anime
Tell me how they make money off of me torrenting their movies
I agree with your post, but fuck off with that shit.
I know this is a bait, but I'm gonna bite anyway.
You are retarded, Studio Ghibli is top tier, it's just most casuals like yourself don't know they made anything besides Spirited Away/Totoro/Princess Mononoke.
You are the one with shit taste.
This seems like a better comparison to me. Naruto is COD because it's and uninspired cashgrab that keeps rehashing itself, and Ghibli is Nintendo because it's entry level that can be enjoyed by casuals, but still has some great qualities
How about you just keep things on topic instead of chest beating all day about how much of an 'oldfag' you think you are?
Get ogre it dude.
Exactly. Ghibli is like Nintendo.
You get movies aimed at kids like Totoro and Ponyo, movies for teens like Nausicaa and Mononoke, and mature movies like Grave of the fireflies and The wind rises.
The normalfag crowds can name a few Ghibli movies, just like a normalfag would name Mario and Pokemon.
One of his very best.
>call of duty
>a popular mediocre video game franchise that does the same thing over and over again, sells like hotcakes, and monopolizes the entire industry. Other studios will try to copycat said franchise to grab a piece of their fan base and their money.
Doesn't sound like Ghibli to me, who have arguably produced some great landmark anime movies like Nausicaa and Grave of the fireflies. They're more like Disney.
>Stop liking things I don't like
