When did anime start from all 90s art style till recent, I DONT LIKE IT AND I DONT WANT IT. Anyone else feel this way sometimes?
Pic related its one of the good art styles
that is in the past
Art styles come in and out of popularity. You just have to deal with it.
Name one anime as good as Onizuka or 90 percent of 90's anime.
>as good as [insert favorite anime]
The problem is that not everyone would say this is good or that is better than this.
Same with art style. Some would appreciate it, some won't. Deal with it.
name one good anime as gundam or 80% of 80's anime
Well they share the same art style so i wont judge anime mu/h buddy
I wanna watch Gundam but to many series dunno where to start and dont wanna miss any so ill just skip.
you start with the first and go chronological from there. isn't that hard.
My opinion doesn't matter. You're getting too upset over something that you can't changed.
Production order is the best order but skip SEED Destiny and Age.
The current style can be good and it can be bad.
Your pleb mind just naturally thinks of the bad examples. Don't blame anyone but yourself.
Anime is not the same, at least admit that. FUCK!
>Implying 90 percent of 90's anime was anywhere near as good as GTO
Stuff that is not shit is and always has been the minority of all creative output.
There was still more gold than shit then.
Here, have a chart.
No. It's just that the shit fades into obscurity while the good (read: popular) shows are remembered.
the shading is totally different and the blush is different too. Both are adorable though and this thread is stupid.
That's because if you were watching anime back then, then you would only remember the good shows and forget most of the seasonal shit that comes every year. If you started watching later on, then the only shows you would see would be the stand-outs of the decade that have stood the test of time rather than the mediocre shows.
ITT: nostalgia goggles
Ugh! Fucking ̶m̶o̶e̶ kawaiishit ruining the industry these days! Not like the glorious 80s where there as no such thing as cute girls doing cute things! Ugh!
She was a tomboy doing cute things.
so its true 80s/90s is king
I started watching anime in the late 1980s. Some of my favorite shows are from the mid to late 1990s like Slayers, Sailor Moon, Saber Marionette, CardCaptor Sakura and etc.
Yet I can still aknowledge that the anime industry grew 5x bigger because of the introduction of digital animation. And even more of my favorite shows came out after the year 2000. And there are plenty of shows that came out post 2000 that are based on Manga that were either written before the year 2000 or by authors that have been in the business during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
In short OP, you are an idiot who is limiting yourself to a time period. You are the PC fag of the anime world.
God, I know right. Those fucking moefags killed anime back in 1984 2004.
>Kei will never rape you
Make the pain end ;_;
YEah! Anime used to be all MANLY MEN doing MANLY THINGS and now it's all just little girls!
Will this ever get a BD release?
>not liking Saber Marionette
>posting the inferior Saber Marionette J to X just to intentionally cause a shitstorm
>and now it's all just little girls!
Yeah. Parodying those old shows.
Name one anime as good as Lupin or 70% of 70's anime.
Just watched the OP of that. Holy shit, that's Gainax level of references to older stuff. Pity the colors are horrendously over-saturated early digital coloring.
Have you seen 70% of 70s anime? No, and neighter have I. My guess is that 70% of them are shit. Lupin, Ashita no Joe, Rose of Versailles, Yamato and Gundam are the ones that are remembered. What about the others?
It was done by the same people who did Slayers and Lost Universe. And on the same low budget of Lost Universe.
So it has tons of good ideas, but really weak animation. Still worth watching if you love Legend of Galactic Heroes and mecha anime. Especially since the designer of Transformers did the mecha design for it.
Oh yeah? Well, name one anime as good Astro Boy or 60% of 60's anime.
What makes you think that Astro Boy was actually a good show?
It seems to me that they have just about as many Gundam series as they do Sentai
I can't because all those suck compared to the one movie that came out in the 1940s.
I like it, but the style was god-awful. Eyes that take up over half of the face, 20 cm eyelashes and cheekbones that protrude like a mountain in their faces. I'm glad that shit is gone.
You'd have better luck complaining about Slayers, CardCaptor Sakura, Clannad or K-on which all had similar 'huge' eyes, long eyelashes and etc that you mentioned.
CCS didn't have the eyelashes like that, and the eyes only take up about a third of the face.
>and the eyes only take up about a third of the face.
>vs half the face
...kind of splitting hairs, aren't we? CCS is still considered one of the major motivators that led to making 'moe' more popular.
Personally you can skim everything but 079, Zeta, the movies and OVAS.
>skipping ZZ the one of the Unicorn's pilars
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Welcome to the NHK
Panty & Stocking
That's the whole problem with this argument, much less shitty shows, there are plenty of good shows from the 70s and 80s that are remembered in Japan that /a/ and westerners hardly know at all. Like High School Kimengumi.
>High School Kimengumi.
It looks like a group has subbed the first ~50 episodes, but only 30 are on their tracker. Where can I find the rest?
I don't know, but link me too, I've always wanted to watch it as the soundtrack is fantastic and has some timeless tracks on it.
It turns out that aniDB shows it as being English/French, even though only a couple of episodes have English subtitles.
