Well this was lovely. That'll do, miyazaki, that'll do.
Did you see this in theaters?
it came out today where i'm at
I heard that it's quite bad. Not as shitty as Ponyo, but still not good.
I'm going to see this on Friday. Any chance you can detail a bit more what you liked about it? Is it heavy on the historical side or is it more about the individual story of the guy and maybe a little romance thrown in?
it's the Aviator mixed with romance, it's nowhere near ponyo bad
historical side is plenty. You see him design planes and test them out and the flying scenes are great, trailer really fucked up on showing them. It has some romance with it, it's pretty balanced between the two. I found the romance okay, though the planes stole the show really.
It's very much a historical biography, we really see him grow and the camera nearly never leaves him.
review scores are high
Where? From whom?
It was a big hit in Japan, one of the highest grossest films of the year if I remember correctly?
Felt a bit long at times, would have been better if it was 30 minutes shorter.
Just came back from seeing it, it was a okay movie.
Top tier animation as always, story was meh but still enjoyable.
Like the previous post said it's mostly a historical movie and a tribute to the ZERO creator.
Also "Le vent se lève" god damn Anno please never speak again french I nearly burst out laughing out loud in the theater.
yeah i'm french too and the audience chuckled
japanese people's french is cuter than french people's french.
but i agree that no body must ever speak french in a good show, it lowers the level
Does it end on the attack on Pearl Harbor with the creator passionately wiping the blood of American gaijin across his cheeks?
you need something to cover that anal leakage of yours, freedom fries or something
Yeah it's cute how they try but their accent ruin everything it's like me when I try to speak English with my horrible french accent.
I can't because I'm so embarassed and it sound so horrible.
Nope but their some funny scene when they go to check the glorious German plane they basically tell them "Don't touch that shit filthy japanese".
FUUUUCK does this mean the movie will be subbed when it's in theaters? The friend I plan on going to see it with is a retard with anime and can't read subs fast enough.
I don't know I only go to the same theater who only project movie in their native language.
And tell your friend to get good it's not that hard to read subtitles.
B-but I liked ponyo.
>you will never have a Nahoko
