My 4TB disk is gone /a/.
4TBs of anime, manga and movie is dust in the wind now. I have been listening to that song for half an hour now.
Everything is dust in the wind. How do i start again ;_;.
6 years worth download is gone
One of my greatest fears.
All the luck in rebuilding that which was lost anon.
>4TBs of anime, manga and movie is dust in the wind now.
All that is easily recoverable.
You should cry if you lost your pictures and music. Re-obtaining all that, specially the images, is literally impossible.
This is why you took backups, right?
I just came here to post this picture. I don'tknow why.
That fucking cat.
How do you backup 4 TB man?
What's you dl speed anon?
This. It could have been much worse.
Ask Yourself: What would Sayaka do?
1 mb maxed. But thats not the point Some of them were really old and even the websites i downloaded are dust in the wind now.
I have 30 gbs of pictures. But i have like 5 copies of that folder. But my anime folder was like 2.2 tbs.
I can't have copies of that.
You can download it all again, It's part of the fun.
It isn't like you have anything beter to do. Right?
Did niggers break into your house and steal it? Was it hit by a nuclear warhead?
Because if no, you can pay some good money to see if you can get things out of that drive.
So I have about 30tb of movies, music, manga, anime and games. One third of that is from my dad with whom I shared the obsession of downloading everything, he passed away and it's my mission now to collect media.
Only it's about 20tb of stuff and 10tb of backups, in the 10tb of backups are mostly my favs. It's a full suitcase of external harddrives, and the most valuable things I could possibly have. More valuable than a perfect girlfriend if I find her one day, more valuable that the remaining members of my family. I'd die protecting these black little boxes.
Why the fuck would you want 2.2TBs of anime? Do you even watch anime?
You don't keep the backups with them, do you?
As far as the games, manga and anime goes there isn't anything precious, everything could be easily re-obtainable, but the movies and music have some shit that is just impossible to find nowadays, even on what.cd, ptp or karagara.
Yeah, this. There are a ton of shows that never acquire a big following, that are just popular with very few people when they air and there's just no chance to find a torrent or download many years later.
However, 4TB - most of that you'd watch NEVER again, anyway. Just make a backup of the few shows that are really precious to you.
No, the 20tb is in my apartment with me, and the 10tb backups are in my mother's old house, still in my old room. I'v actually considered getting some kind of place I could store them like a safe in a bank or some shit. I wish we could already have small hardrives supporting 30tb+ or something, then I could just lock it up somewhere in one of these tiny drawer-vaults.
that's why I never delete my torrents. I lost all my doujins once and I swore i'll never have that happen again.
>tfw not a part of karagara masterrace
I don't care much for what.cd most of the stuff I want is obtaniable on rutracker or soulseek.
Fucking karagara though.
So is this an /a/ version of spooky threads?
How do you even find an invite for karagarga?
It's fucking impossible.
What are you talking about OP? You still have your anime, manga and movies.
They are in your heart
Serves ya right for not backing it up
NAS RAID1. Easy.
I'm working on my ratio to get invites, don't really have friends though, if you gimme an email or something I might be able to get you an invite in a few months if you didn't got one by then.
They had an event with everything on freeleech like a week ago, never have I dled so much in so little time. Had my torrent client up for the entire duration of the event with highest priority, couldn't even fucking browse internet.
I don't think you can just "find" one. You need to work your way up on one of the big private trackers to power user, and then watch events or stuff that will get you invites. A friend got my an invite to PTP and from there i managed to get myself to what.cd and karagara. I still need BTN for the private tracker loop to be perfect.
>don't have an external drive yet
>~900 gigs of anime on a 1.3Tb drive
>can't delete too many because muh ratios
Could be worse.
Get another 4TB disk. Or use multiple smaller disks.
Doesn't your client crash with that many torrents?
It's alright man. I don't even have the time to watch too many movies.
Speaking of invites I have 3 for mutracker.
I´m rather eskeptical about images and their worth of being hoarded (sounds dumb being myself in an imageboard, but hear me out)
I guess the real "kick" of saving images is that exact moment when your eyes see a pic they like and your brain captures it, clicking it and saving it in your pc it´s just a gag reflex, a trigger for happy thoughts (I saw something that took my attention--->I click and save it).
That moment won´t ever repeat itself (even if you find the image second time, the impression was allready there) and it´s going to be keep in your mind forever.
I had this idea of erasing all my image folders BUT ONE pic, the most favourite of them all, to then start saving once again from square one and really cherishing the pics I find. Something like a Nuzlocke quest.
Back in topic, i once erased by mistake my Miku and Asuka/Rei folder. Not even worth trying to build it up again, that´s an endless task.
Ever since the new dev came in and qBit stopped being dead it's gotten a lot more optimized and stable with large amounts of torrents. It still takes 5-8 minutes to start up though.
Eh I know. I'd rather give the invite to an anon than some mutant.
Backup your image annon
In the cloud
The problem with saving images is that you go hunting for the right place to post these images. You waste hours and hours looking for the right place to post an image.
even though i dont such trivial things as anime on my disk, I can feel your pain
I cant imagine how fucking depressed i would be if i lost my mere 40GBs of pictures, message arvchives and videos with my friendzone and my other very few friends
I...I dont know how to respond, if I could, I'd hug you.
I'm not one for rewatching/rereading shit (except porn). So I don't see the issue.
Let it go man, it's gone. Find something new.
Even though I've been lurking imageboards for years, I never understood the obsession with hoarding data. It's just download-watch-delete for me. I don't even save imagesexcept ones of my waifu, but she's special.
Are you guys the same with non-digital stuff as well?
>He doesn't run a 30TB unRAID NAS server.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to personal photos, not 4chan images.
I used to save every show and bought a 1TB drive specifically for that purpose. I realized how silly it was by the time I filled it up, so now I delete the shows I liked least. Eventually I'll have a sizable library consisting only of the stuff I legitimately liked. While I have yet to rewatch an entire series from the beginning, I do occasionally watch an old episode again.
i like going back through my stuff every so often. it gives me a little insight into who i was a year or two ago, what i liked, and it triggers memories of other things that were happening at the time.
If it's corrupt try Recuva, it's free and has worked well for me.
Also, backup in future.
You don't have a favorite or two anime you can't help re-watching?
Or that random surge to re watch some damn good scenes from a show a few seasons ago?
>not having all your data backupped on a NAS
You could have prevented this.
>In the cloud
Fuck off NSA shill
Good thing I have an old PC that I don't use anymore, except when I need to copy something from it, and another one for programming tests and shit.
This is a good song for such a mood in which you are, OP.
