Hi, /a/ I'm really confused right now, is art style what makes an anime or is it the voices or the fact that it comes from japan? The reason I ask is I just got done watching avatar and and it was so anime-like I was just about searching for the jap-eng sub when I realized it was American made...
Toph a cute
o1 m8 dis aint fukkin /co/
fuk off da edge of mai dik
reported for not anime
So you admit it's not anime, and then you make a thread about it here, an anime-only board? Why?
This is like watching an underage girl walk into a bar of gruff grizzled men
It has to be made in Japan to be anime.
Haven't seen that show in years, but Toph is bestgirl.
If it is an animation from Japan, it is anime. If not, it isn't.
Suki best girl.
Katara is better boner fuel, though.
It's the fact that it comes from Japan, basically.
Funnily enough, by now I can almost always tell whether something's an anime or a cartoon no matter what the art style is. I have no idea how.
In that everyone will take pitty on the girl and listen to what she has to say? N-nice analogy anon haha.
made in japan = anime
made in france = franime / french cartoons
anywhere else = disgusting western trash
yar man arvarter is anniemay its anim8ted in choona just like jerpernese anumehs so its the same thing both madein iran.
TL note: アニメ means invitation to shitpost.
>Katara is better boner fuel
Is this nigger serious?
Ironic shitposting is still shitposting. Please stop that.
Katara is old and busted.
Korra is the new hotness, despite being a complete idiot.
Always go with the brown girl, Anon.
She's barely even toned.
i want korra to waterbend up my urethra
>Not wanting toph to earthbend rock up your prostate.
>moshi moshi baito desu.jpg
She was too awful of a character. Avatar was all about Toph and Azula. Too bad Korra ended up sucking. M&B are such hacks they can even ruin a story with a delicious brown fit tomboy MC, let that sink in a moment.
You down to cuddle and watch anime now?
even if we're both guys
Id love to.
But I am in another country than you...
>no love for Mai
Anime is Japanese animation produced in Japan (except for inbetweens) by the Japanese (except for inbetweens) for the Japanese.
Fuck why is every girl in this show a qt? Why did you have to make this thread OP? Now I have to watch this western trash.
>I will never meet anon-kun and cuddle while watching anime
life is hard
The first two seasons are actually good.
Katara always a shit though.
Dont worry anon-kun, we will always have /a/ to meet on ~
this video should clear up this very stupid question
Here's another question, are western cartoons becoming more anime stylized or is it just the western industry finding that people don't like classic western style as they used to?
And thus another love story began.
I don't know man, I liked the third season as well even if it was just for the chance to see zuko come to terms with being a good guy and Aang fight the comet.Plus metal bending toph too cute/10
just another day on /a/
Is mayonnaise an anime?
Despite being a weeaboo this guy makes a good point. Well researched.
Replace "anime" with "made in Japan"
>Hi, /a/ I'm really confused right now, is art style what makes a "made in Japan" or is it the voices or the fact that it comes from japan? The reason I ask is I just got done watching avatar and and it was so "made in Japan"-like I was just about searching for the jap-eng sub when I realized it was American made...
So why is anpanman not considered anime?
Neither, Avatar was a brief success that its creators managed to completely drive into the ground. It was conceived in the early 2000s so it was just riding on the anime craze back then, when Nick was desperate to get viewers back from CN.
Current /co/ material is a fucking joke, that's why I haven't been to the board in years. Most of it is Adventure Time style garbage.
I like to try to forget about most of the season the same way people like to forget about Darker than Black S2. There were still good parts though.
Toph was still perfect but she kind of became a background character.
I agree, her character was shit. She was just better boner fuel.
anime (countable and uncountable, plural anime or animes)
(uncountable) An artistic style heavily used in, and associated with, Japanese animation, and that has also been adopted by a comparatively low number of animated works from other countries
(countable) An animated work originated in Japan, regardless of the artistic style.
(rare, countable, chiefly proscribed) An animated work in anime style, regardless of the country of origin.
アニメ (romaji anime)
(animation, anime) anime, Japanese animation
All animated works are called アニメ in Japan. In other countries, the romanization anime is typically used for animation produced primarily for the Japanese market.
Korra S2 was a bit of a letdown. The two episodes centralized on the first ever avatar was mesmerizing though, they should have based the series on him instead. Watching him literally trying to establish balance between the world was much better than Korra's teenage bullshit.
People dub loud when they wanna sound good, right?
Anime is from Japan. Period.
There can be western made cartoons that copy the style, and they can be good even, but it's not anime.
It's not about just because it's not from Japan. Much of anime is founded on Japanese culture and tenancies which are naturally woven into storylines, just because the dudes who made it are from Japan, and its written for other dudes who are also from Japan. Western cartoons are coming from a different cultural standpoint and are written for a different audience.
It can easily be seen when a western cartoon will try to copy a Japanese theme or trope and it feels ridiculously out of place or forced.
I've never seen this anime discussed here on /a/ before.
I agree I thought the show took a while to get going in season 1 and in season 2 I thought they should have learned from their mistakes, but that back-story of the first avatar was well done. My hope is that with the new "book" (Season) coming out with lin (Toph's daughter) as the focus it will be more back story focused maybe even having an episode or 2 that tells how republic city got founded, that would be great.
Or this one.
That's a funny way to spell the last airbender.
What about this one?
TLU had no Japanese studio responsible for its animation. LoK did though, but I don't think a single season being animated in Japan is enough to reclassify an American pig cartoon.
Come on /a/ see westaboo shitty cartoon on first page that has a thread
Jesus it's like you guys WANT to feed the fucking troll.
Well, technically it's two since each "Bok" is a season and it has two "Books" but I'm nitpicking.
But it's from nipland.
No I mean who says it isn't anime
/a/ doesn't like ancient anime that much, or outsourced anime with English dubs marketed primarily to an English audience.
>It's anime except for when I don't like it
Stay classy /a/
