I just read Hisui true ending and holy shit, I don't even know what to say.
The whole route was very awesome and my mind was exploding a lot of times, I didn't even suspect that Hisui and Kohaku could switch places.
But then the epilogue happened... and you could build a pretty big house out of all the bricks that I shat when reading it.
Kohaku was just a cheerful, carefree and energetic maid and now something like this happens, I feel so fucking sad I am actually crying over her sad life.
I know I am like 10 years late but I finally started reading Tsukihime and it's really awesome, I didn't read such a good story in a years and I'm pretty much shocked at how good it is.
I have only read Arc, Ciel and now Hisui route so if you want to spoil then use spoiler tags please.
Prepare for happiness
Sunflowers, Anon, Sunflowers.
>I have only read Arc, Ciel and now Hisui route
You should at least read it in correct order but I am happy you like it.
I also cried like a fucking baby ;_;
Fuck you, now I really want to re-read this.
Where's the remake? Why does it take them so long?
she deserved it,
Too busy milking saberfags
>Kohaku is able to pose as Hisui during Tsukihime through the use of colored contacts and by drugging her with sleeping pills to keep her out of sight. Kohaku also gives clues as to the difference between them through her speech, as Hisui will always say elder sister (姉さん, neesan), while Kohaku always says sister (姉).
>Kohaku also gives clues as to the difference between them through her speech
She just wanted to be noticed ;_;
Best girl thread?
Best twist ending ever. Kohaku Doori.
Also OP, you should play Akiha's route next, Kohaku's was pretty much designed to be played last.
Plus, Akiha's endings are too depressing to be left to last.
This is now a Carnival Phantasm thread.
Btw about to play the FSN VN soon.
Not OP but what is the "correct" order of reading?
During my first playthrough, Kohaku charmed me so much that I really wanted to spend all the time I had with her (and because of that I got a bad ending at the school) so I googled that I need to clear at least Ciel/Arc and Hisui to get to her route.
I didn't know anything about the game so I went:
Ciel -> Hisui -> Kohaku -> Akiha -> Arc
And it was awesome (Arc route at the end was very boring though) and I got so devastated at the end of Hisui route I really wanted to know more so I went into Kohaku route right away and I think that OP will do the same.
Is it better to go Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku?
I have read Tsukihime years ago and I don't really remember if there were any spoilers in Akiha route about Kohaku's real identity but I want to get my friend to read it and I'm not sure what order of reading I should recommend him.
Hisui -> Kohaku -> Akiha was awesome because when reading Akiha route you already knew "the truth" but I don't know what others think about it.
tl;dr In which order you beat the game and why it was awesome?
Play Kohaku's route already, and this time don't fuck up giving the ribbon to the wrong girl which leads to mass murder.
Kohaku's route is the one where you can finally put her enough off her game to see her true face, and her truth is neither what she directly tells you or directly acts at times, but rather it's something even deeper that has remained untainted to this day. If want an idea of what I mean then play Hisui's Good Ending to see a bit of the truth here.
The person Kohaku lies the most to is Kohaku herself
Arc --> Ciel --> Akiha --> Hisui ---> Kohaku
For best results
CAUSE I FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL
Hisui's true ending is the best of the game, fuck anyone who says otherwise.
I did this >>100689082
and it's probably best to do it that way as each route reveals more than the last and it offers a more satisfying conclusion that way. For instance the OP will have to go back to do Akiha's route after Kohaku's or alternatively do Akiha's and then Kohaku's. Kohaku's route is the best way to finish the series but if he wants to end it on that note he won't get to do Kohaku after reading Hisui which is a let down.
This man speaks the truth.
Oh god, when I knew the truth after Hisui end, started Kohaku route and then Shiki started talking with Kohaku about a ribbon he got from one of the girls and he thought it was probably Hisui I was feeling SO FUCKING BAD...
Just look at her expression... dammit.
The most fitting or honest sprite for Kohaku is that one you really only see in her route, the one that occasionally looks like a lost child, but still has an earnest side underneath it all.
The way her mask keeps slipping and her real feelings occasionally come out is also pretty nice. That scene is a nice example as she just can't hold it in with "Why.. why did you come back? You would have been happy if you had just stayed at the Arima's".
Oh look, young Hisui.
That forlorn face she makes? It's pretty much just that sort of face and confusion for the entirety of her route as far as I can remember.
I like you.
Do you even know how much I was destroyed when they finally showed colored version of these CG's and you could clearly see by the eye colors which sister is which?
Probably these as well, but her sprites during her route generally were far more honest in a way.
Still, definitely the left one on the first sheet as a primary.
Personally, I'd say >>100689082 has it right, it was probably the way the order originally intended. The Far Side routes are closed off until you've read at least one of the Near Side routes, plus Kohaku's is closed off one further.
So really, it should probably go:
Either Near side (probably Arc) -> Either Far side (probably Akiha) -> Either default remaining (probably Ciel and then Hisui, in that order) -> Kohaku final
Though Ciel coming before Akiha makes a lot of sense. Personally I went Arc -> Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku -> Ciel. It was okay, since Ciel's True Ending has a lot of impact in it's own right, and an anomalously extensive one for Shiki. I originally wanted to do Akiha's first, then Kohaku's, but obviously the game didn't allow that.
Wouldn't want her any other way. I like how her being a scheming maniac isn't glossed over in Meltan, but played up for jokes so it's not depresssing.
Akiha knew that Kohaku wants to get revenge at all the Tohno family for all the things Makihisa did to her yet she still saved her (by that, one of Kohaku's objectives was fulfilled because Akiha dies). It is revealed that Kohaku actually felt guilty about letting Akiha die and yet, she still kills herself saying she doesn't have anything more to do in this world.
Why is this VN so tragic ;_;
Reminds me of that Moral Orel moment during Alone; "Not you too!".
I think Kohaku and Sakura made me realize I like girls who are secretly sadistic cunts underneath. And yet, I'm huge sadist myself. How does this work?
Except Sakura was a mindless mass murderer who couldn't control herself and Kohaku was a master strategist who planned everything out starting as a 8-year old girl.
I'm fine with the way her menacing traits are played for laughs in a non-serious game like meltan and I enjoy her moveset but I'd like the real honest Kohaku from her route to make an appearance more often. I don't know if I've ever really seen that portrayed since Tsukihime, even Kagetsu Tohya didn't really show her that way again.
Hisui and Kohaku's routes were the best thing about Tsukihime by a long shot.
Having to plod through the Near Side got very tedious.
Oh christ, let's not start this shit again. Waifu wars have already been done to death enough as is, can we not just have a nice Tsukihime thread for once?
Traditional order was always:
Near side -> Far side
Arc -> Ciel -> Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku
That doesn't quite capture it all, Akiha knew and fully supported Kohaku's revenge to the point of going along with it since the guilt consumed her. Kohaku actually loved Akiha and the guilt of leading to her death consumed her to the point of suicide in a way, as in the Good Ending Hisui doesn't put up with Kohaku's bullshit and calls her out on a few things. Kohaku really wished for Akiha to live, but the murders were the only thing keeping Kohaku going there, so she just kept going along with it even if there was nothing but regret on the other side. It's the reason that she jumps in the way and saves Akiha in the Good ending; because she was far more human than she cared to remember and she couldn't let Akiha die if she just had one more push in the right direction to prompt her. She even states that she doesn't hate any of the family, it's just that this is all she knows how to do after she chose to become a robot in order to forget the pain, all she has is that one motive. Yet underneath that exterior she's long since closed off is a human heart that keeps showing itself at the worst times for her as she couldn't take Akiha being killed after she realized what she had done in a very small way in True route, she was confused and disoriented when you ask her why she saved Akiha in the good ending, when Shiki brings up the promise for the ribbon and asks where he should give it to Hisui in Kohaku's route her mask breaks as she can no longer smile despite trying repeatedly so she just has to run away from the situation, and when she finally breaks down at the end of the route.
We all know, anon. We all know.
>I didn't even suspect that Hisui and Kohaku could switch places.
I saw that one coming, but it was pretty good anyways.
Not that it bugs me if there isn't any, but are there voices?
Kohaku wasnt sadistic though. I know the side material likes to present her as some kind of mad scientist but all that Kohaku was was motivated.
She didnt want to bring down Akiha and the Tohno household out of spite, just that she felt compelled to out of a strong sense of personal injustice she felt. It was all that kept her going.
Some people are smart and some aren't; Sakura never wanted her revenge or to kill anyone, but when Angya took possession of those Deep Dark Desires♂ it all ended up leaking out. Suddenly ten years of repressed shit came out in the form of a monster that could only lash out at those around her. Still, Shadow was the mass murderer as that's stated to be Angya taking over her ID while she sleeps. Still though, Shadow is the mass murderer as it's stated that's Angya taking over her ID while she sleeps to feed itself while in the womb. Sakura doesn't know or isn't involved in that shit until day thirteen or so when she's killed by Gilgamesh as a rather harsh awakening to the world as "Surprise, it was all real", but even then the only people she killed after realizing the truth were just Shinji, Zouken, True Assassin, and Kotomine.
She's stated to be primarily an innocent until she ends up killing Shinji with her own hands even if it was an accident on her part, but that's still on her there. However Angya too was an innocent as it had no knowledge of good or evil before birth which was one of the points Kotomine tried to make. In the end it was just a game where one innocent had to be sacrificed in order to save the rest of the world. Still in terms of plotting, it's kind of obvious Sakura is a bit inept compared to her sister since her only school for the last ten years was a bucket full of worms that was shoved up her various orifices when she asked a question. After all Rin kind of talked circles around her easily and made her look like a fool any time they spoke, even after she went all villain. Was she to blame for the victims that were killed because Angya took her body for a drive whenever she slept, I don't know. It's one of those questions that's a bit up in the air.
No. It's an old doujin VN, on a string-shoe budget. They couldn't even get proper backdrops, they just put filters over photographs.
And the BGM is only ten repetitive tracks.
Doesn't stop it from being awesome, though.
Tsukihime anime when?
>Sakura never wanted her revenge or to kill anyone, but when Angya took possession of those Deep Dark Desires♂ it all ended up leaking out
Thats wrong though. Sakura was always resentful of everyone who, in her opinion, handnt done anything to help her.
After the FSN anime and Tsukihime remake.
So maybe within your lifetime, if you're lucky.
She didn't want to murder anyone because of it, though. Those were really deeply buried feelings that she would never consciously act on or acknowledge on her own.
Thanks, it doesn't have any sound so I just wanted to know when I fix the problem.
Read Kohaku's route, OP. It provides an such a happy closure to the Tohno family.
>it doesn't have any sound
Oh fuck, that old problem. I wish I could help you, but it's been about five years since I played the game. I think it has something to do with the default player for the ogg files, but you should probably be able to find an answer on Mirror Moon or at least Beast's Lair.
Woah, I didn't see such a quality Tsukihime thread in months.
Am I really on /a/?
There has to be a bgm in the game folder. It can play anything if you just label the tracks correctly so you could make your own soundtrack. If the game folder is missing the files then of course there's no BGM. If you're talking about sound period then maybe try reinstalling?
Ah, I really can't wait for the remake to come out. There'll be new material which hadn't come out for more than a decade!
I can only imagine how long the translation would take though...
I think the files must be in .ogg format and named a certain way for the game to recognize them. Can't remember though , it's been years.
I just want my Sacchin route
The tracks need to be Ogg Vorbis and named trackXX (X being the numbers obviously) in a folder called CD.
I vaguely remember the FAQ/Read Me file Mirror Moon included actually had the answer to that. But yeah, it's been years, so I could be wrong.
Yes, it would be something of a parallel to Akiha's route in a way, a bit more of a childhood friend angle perhaps, maybe Arihiko would be a bit more relevant as well, final battle is Arc/Shiki/Sacchin vs Roa/Nero, and there was something about Kohaku building an anti-magic canon on top of the Tohno mansion.
Shit was crazy before he was really into that crazy stuff
Don't give up Sacchin! You'll get your route one day!
Isn't it sad Sacchin?
IIRC, it was something about the default installation not actually installing the audio files in the folder, so you had to get the files and put them in there yourself.
What this guy said, they need to be named track01, track02, etc. Though it doesn't matter if they are ogg or mp3
>there was something about Kohaku building an anti-magic canon on top of the Tohno mansion.
Wasn't that just a joke?
All that "doll" bullshit she gives you at the end of Hisui route was driving me so mad I just wanted to go there and slap her shit so she could see that there are people out there who loves and needs her.
It's logical why she feels so yet it really depresses me that she doesn't want to fix her life in the state she is at the end of Hisui route.
Kohaku ending should be the "true" canonical ending and that's not becase "I like her", it's because everyone is happy, everyone lives etc. and it pisses me off when Arcfags go with their "Nasu confirmed" ending for Arc where you actually know shit about tohno family and you can get killed by Kohaku any second along with other family members because you didn't even try talking to her by constantly going out of home.
Not quite a childhood friend thing since he never remembers her, but closer to that angle anyway. She has some kind of connection with him that isn't really seen with the others girls as much, in terms of them being just slightly familiar already and that connection to school.
Sure you could say Ciel holds something similar, but all she did was implant the memory "You know me, and you trust me" into people at random. There's a difference between having an actual sort of familiarity and just faking it. It's more like... rather than childhood friends it's like if you could date Ayako in FSN, I suppose.
She's just bullshitting about the doll thing because it's all she can believe anymore in order to survive. She had to convince herself that she wasn't human so the pain would go away, but she's long since forgotten the simple truth which keeps rearing it's head there. She is human, the proof is still there, and whether she wants to admit it or not that side of her will keep rearing it's head.
But anon, nasuverse is multiverse. Technically every one of those endings are canon.
Seems like Sacchin's normal ending is the most canon these days
Since that's what the Melty Blood and all of those offshoot games you see as newer material these days keep getting made in regard to. It's an ending where Shiki apparently isn't seeing anyone but is rather close to Arc apparently, which doesn't really bode well for Sacchin at all.
Well, not everyone is happy. Akiha is still saddled with Roa's soul until she can no longer keep him under control or dies, then Arc and Ciel have to keep searching for him forever.
Oh my god, this ending was clearly the best in the whole game.
By "best" I don't mean it was "good" because it was sad as fuck and a lot of things happened that shouldn't happen but the truth you get to know in the epilogue was so mind breaking I could hardly believe it was real (to be honest I though that I can finally live the rest of my life with two best characters in the game and it was awesome).
I have all the sound files and they are in .ogg format , they just won't play so I might be missing something else.
It was alright like that from the start.
There was a read me but all it says is how to change the sound file from a CD-DA to a .ogg and to name the tracks.
Thank you anyway.
It works just fine in wine for me. I just had to install some 32-bit libs. What OS are you using?
Hmm... If all fails, I suppose you could just download Fuwanovel's. It's kind of a cheap download, and the compatibility might not be the best (you might get random lines in the text), but the basics, like the sound, should work.
far side a shit. near side is best even though ciel is a curry slut.
I liked the plot of far side a bit better, but Arc is my favourite heroine.
Actually, I liked all of the Tsuki heroines really. They aren't as divided up as Fate's are.
Why are you even alive? Why don't you just give up and die from your shit taste?
>The first time I saw that face
>The first time she makes it in the epilogue
Bricks. Fucking. Shat.
I didn't want to download from there but I guess I have no choice if I want sound. Thanks everyone.
Yeah, that was the first time when something started to feel ODD about her and her actions.
Yeah, best not to download from Fuwanovel if you can help it... Perhaps a complete reinstall? Just keep your save files somewhere and you can go from where you left off.
far side is crap because shiki spends most of it in bed. roa was a way better villian than SHIKI.
0/10 if serious you should contemplate suicide. The near side routes are bland outside of aspects that were improved in the far side routes. Kohaku's route features scenes that positively blow near side out of the water.
Is it true that Kohaku's route was done in like 10 days?
All good except Ciel. Ciel a shit.
Just switch Akiha and Kohaku and I agree.
Action wise near side was definetly better but story wise it was shit compared to the far side. Did you ecen read it?
So who's better? Nasu or Urobochi?
My money is on Nasu
why would I play a chunni game not for the action scenes?
Go read Naruto fanfiction you moron. Fuck off.
Takeuchi of course.
Honestly even Urobuchi said that Nasu had most of Zero written before he even got there, and he learned a lot by teaming up with another writer to help with his work in a period when he was having trouble coming up with a new series himself.
Sure he might just be humble there, maybe Nasu just had a lot of the rough layout planned out, but even Zero was something that Nasu was a huge part of there. So it's hard to really compare them based on that one.
Nasu has gotten a lot better these days
Kohaku's ending is probably the best pay-off of any VN I've played.
Play Ever17 some time
Muv-Luv, Steins;Gate, or Little Busters might also apply
I've finished all of them except Muv-Luv.
Still think Kohaku's ending is better than those in terms of how fulfilling it was after such a long VN.
Kohaku a cute
I didn't get far because of the sound problem and there is nothing on nyaa. I could download from erogedownload, but that's where I got it from.
This thread is now about Ciel's magnificent body.
Especially her ass.
AW YEAH GONNA GO FOR THE KUUDERE REI CLONE
SORRY KOHAKU YOU'RE TOO GENKI, THERE'S A GIRL IN THE WINDOW I GOTTA GIVE THE DICK TO
SHE WATCHED US WHEN WE PLAYED AND GAVE ME A RIBBON AND SHIT
DON'T WORRY YOU'RE A GENKI GIRL KOHAKU I'M SURE YOU'LL FIND SOMEONE, BUT I GOTTA HEAL YOUR POOR SISTER'S SUFFERING SOUL
>mfw two and a half hours later
Are you me? After the end of Hisui's route I plowed straight through Kohaku's immediately afterward to set things right.
That's what happens when you try to whiteknight.
Why does she hate Lilly? I never played her route.
Because all friendships in this game are superficial and completely worthless.
Just like real high school.
this, the twins were glorious
I'm so glad I played the correct order (Arc->Ciel->Akiha->Hisui->Kohaku), that way each route was better than the last
pretty much reverse order of best girls too imo (except switch Arceuid with Ciel)
>pretty much reverse order of best girls too imo (except switch Arceuid with Ciel)
Why is everyone so down on poor Ciel senpai? You guys don't like curry?
If you didn't realize Kohaku was evil during the finger-cutting scene, I have a bridge to sell you.
I actually liked Ciel, I just liked the other heroines a little more
that's why I was so pissed off about her "good" ending. holy shit I was fuming, poor Ciel getting NTR'd like that ;_;
If you were shiki, would you make hisui crush grapefruits with her powerful thighs?
Just a reminder.
>implying Kohaku is evil
does this face look evil to you?
Truly the worst ending.
Captcha: innilabl disappoint
Why is there semen in that grapefruit? Did Shiki have sex with it before he asked Hisui to crush it with her thighs?
No more than this one.
I wouldn't have thought so, but after seeing this, yes. Yes I would have to have her do this every day.
oh yeah? then what's this shit?
I still haven't watched it yet but I bet it isn't even that bad
>No lolicon dolphin rape porn
She could crush my heart instead.
The epilogue of MLA cheapens the ending for me but I guess its really up to how you interpret it.
Takeru and everyone still died; Takeru from Alternative was just a patchwork Frankenstein made up of Takerus from every world-line. However they tried to go with the angle of hope after everyone was literally fucked to death to say "Well maybe there's a world out there that isn't fucked to death, and what's left of your soul will be ripped into millions of pieces and return to the origin of your world which will now reset". It's not like all that shit didn't happen, but it's like saying "Hey, at least the first time-line is no longer quite as shit since they're back to harem hijinks rather than being dead".
Ciel should be ripped.
I wouldn't mind a little toned
Still my favorite moment in the entire game.
But grapefruits don't move
Oh my god, fucking this.
They grow. Growth can be construed as movement.
>please use spoiler tags
>spoils hisui's ending for everyone who hasn't already finished Tsukihime
My fucking sides
Different kind of authors, no point in comparing them.
I prefer Nasu because of the universe he created and his stories
Fate/Zero isn't written just by Urobuchi, the story was decided by Nasu way before the starting of the project.
You could say Urobuchi was Nasu's bitch.
So were Higurashi's Shmion and Umineko's Shkanon inspired by I don't know how you're supposed to tell them. Hihaku? Whatever
And why couldn't Ryukishi do a good as Nasu?
It wouldn't be surprising if that's what inspired him, Ryukishi was invested in Tsukihime enough to put Ciel in Higurashi.
>And why couldn't Ryukishi do a good as Nasu?
Well Ryukishi built eight VNs (or two, depending on how you want to interpret it) around one murder mystery plot and made it so intricate and complex that a reasonable answer just wasn't going to pay off. Whereas Nasu just put in a twist in one route of a VN that never was a murder mystery in the first place. It worked because it was simple and didn't have to tie itself in huge numbers of knots.
Yasu in general is how to do Kohaku poorly.
OH LOOK AT THIS TRAGIC VILLAIN, SHE ORCHESTRESSED THE DEATH OF 16 PEOPLE BUT CLEARLY HER MOTIVE IS A GOOD ONE
OH WAIT NVM SHE'S JUST A TRANNY CHUUNI, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND CRY FOR XIR YOU FUCKING GOATS
So who is Takeru in the epilogue?
The Takeru of that world that the 00 unit put together, the one with the best possible outcomes of everything (including Yuuhi staying alive). I've also seen it explained as basically Extra's world just modified by the 00 unit a bit to include Kasumi and Yuuhi.
How could she put him together when she died? Alternative Takeru disappeared because of this.
Alternative Takeru was just a mix of every other world's Takerus, as explained here. >>100703616
The Takeru in the epilogue is just that one world's Takeru, and that world is just one universe out of many other existing ones, including the multiple Unlimited universes where Alt. V is activated.
Oh, also she put that world together beforehand, she had the ability to influence other universes before she died, obviously, or Alt Takeru would never have existed in the first place.
Okay but then if tha'ts just one of the world why do Takeru and Kasumi sort of remember Alt events?
That I'm honestly unsure of. If I had to think of an explanation it'd be Kasumi's ability to affect other worlds in a less dramatic way is causing her memories to leak over from the other world. Not sure about Takeru, but considering Alt Takeru was made up of parts of every other world's Takerus it could be that when Alt Takeru disappeared all of the different parts ended up back where they came from or some shit like that
I'm worrying about Type-Moon...
I know that many newfags didn't even read VNs / Light Novel F/Z and just watched shitty animu by Deen, Ufotable, Silver Link and JC Staff.
And now even more retards will play in shitty April Fools' game, Fate/Extra and even worse CCC, watch Fate/Zero, Fate/Kaleid and Carnival Phantasm without even reading VNs/LNs and pretend to be TM-fags after that, make tons of shitty threads about characters and power levels.
They will not be even familiar with the original art-style and will think that this shitty K-on CP is "okay", Morii-san's art is not pure shit, RCO Wada is nice and F/Z is soo kewl stylish and grim dark, also Fate/Extra is acceptable by any means with all this "wH0 iZ mai WAiFUUUU" & UmUshit whore of babbylon crap.
Type-Moon is not supposed to be this popular, get the fuck out you secondary narutards.
And now you can CLEARLY see all these "typemoonfags" of 2010-2013. Fucking horrible. You're not TYPE-MOON fans, but NEO-NARUTO-MOON fans.
I ordered Mahoyo and finished that shit VN in this year (2011 late release) while you are still sucking dicks for at least 5 years or so without the translation, fucking plebeians and casuals. But even Mahoyo was a PIECE of SHIT and BOMBED really hard.
And what is more hilarious - Type-SHIT is pretending like it never happened and preferred to completely FORGOT about their new VN by making another absolutely IDIOTIC fate/shit such as EXTRA/SHIT and APOCRYSHIT.
And now Type-Moon decided to resurrect this shit Fate/Apocrypha like it wasn't enough to make Fate/Milking Sabers shit, their outbursting impotence and rectal dysfunction is taking them way far away from something actually new and original, you may suggest that Mahoyo is new but you'll be terribly wrong because the sequence of Mahoyo was made in 1996(!) year and the only "new" thing will be Girl's work but I'm not sure even about this, there's no guarantee that they didn't pull this shit out of someone's old ass again.
The bond Kohaku and Hisui shared was the best.
Is that cum pouring down her leg or is she just that juicy?
