P.S.: Fuck the Australian server.
>Fucked up the spoiler tag
That's evil... ;_;
Lately I've been pondering what the perfect mmo would look like. (using current technology)
I wish guilds in mmos were anything like guilds in anime. Instead it's just a little name floating above your head because you accepted a random invitation from someone you never talked to.
Which LH would you bully?
What I resent from most modern MMOs, FF14 included, is that guilds don't have an active, clear effect in both the economy and the happenings in the game world.
Not only that, but most MMOs have replaced those interesting random events, like huge raids or sudden quests and new dungeons out of nowhere for instances.
I like FF14, but still, God damn.
Also, I didn't put it in the OP, but I think that if there's a way to use a single-hand small crossbow, the Guardian class would become a bit more versatile.
>accepting random guild invitations from random people
Shit, that's even worse than being guildless.
You just have to be lucky enough to stumble upon that one guild. That guild you enjoy being in.
In my experience, the guilds that are hated by the server but always get shit done are the best.
Something like DayZ with more incentives to group up and build something vs. running around shooting people. Or like corporations from EVE, without the size requirements to do anything cool.
Rather than having safe zones vs. dangerous zones, have all zones be inherently dangerous at the start and require player effort to make them safe.
One where quests aren't variations of "kill 10 X" or "collect 10 Y".
You could always try EVE
I have, but I want that in a medieval/fantasy setting.
If I had no worries in life I'd probably lose my time in EVE, quite liked it.
Yeah, players are totally superfluous to the world of most modern MMOs. EVE is the exception, but EVE has its own michigas.
I hate that a lot of modern mmos have made fighting monsters almost pointless in terms of leveling. All xp comes from quests, and all quests are "go here, kill 20 X, and come back". Essentially they packaged grinding as fetch quests, and made grinding worthless.
Experience should come from fights. Quests should be for money.
To be honest, "kill x monsters" quests aren't really that bad. It's only bad when every single damn quest is that.
That or passing a message/item to a npc TWO GODDAMN STEPS AWAY.
Well, getting into a guild was a side quest. And you can use a guild skill if it was high level enough.
Pre-NGE SWG with 2014 grafics and controls.
Player-owned cities, multiple skills to level including being a fucking entertainer, a special class for the elite, and lots of shit to do.
There's Mortal Online
I didn't really like it though
>Experience should come from fights. Quests should be for money.
The number of quests is usually finite (repeatables are pretty rare from what I've seen), but so is the ammount of XP you need.
Money on the other hand you always need and monsters are infinite.
Still, I agree with that anon, why not quests that send you to more dungeons, or to do small raids, and give you more money than just experience?
Experience should indeed be acquired through fighting, or doing other things in case the MMO has subclasses for crafting and such.
I didn't really like it too. The bad thing about MMO-setting anime and manga, like LH, is that they create an urge in me to play an MMO that doesn't exist.
Not yet though.
Tree of Savior here I go.
I feel like the features of a perfect mmo all exist, but they're spread around in different games. What we need is someone to bring them all together.
Mortal Online is the worst experience I've had with an MMO. Just trying to grind exp on low level areas, griefers getting in the way of your attacks to give you PK status and then everyone ganging up on you.
It's sad, really. Since it seemed like the open-world MMO I've always wanted.
Play RO2 with me, I want guildmates who are actually online
No play FFXIV with me
The only upcoming MMO I still have hype for is that vampire thing by the creators of EVE, but it seems to be on indefinite hold.
Quests should be for the sweet rewards you mean.getting exp from a quest is kinda nice but most of the time if done right actually fighting should be more rewarding generally.
Thanks, you just reminded me of that guy who ruined his marriage and his career to become a Jedi and then they made Jedi a selectable class for new players a few months later
that entire scene was probably the cutest thing ever
DameDame has the most appropriate subs for everything Serara
God damn Serara is so cute.
FFXIV is actually good, but yeah, requires a bit of dedication.
I like to pretend that doesn't exist and just focus on RO1.
Honestly, I want a single-player game like Log Horizon, but with a multiplayer option so you can party up with people from around the world when you want to.
I want Akatsuki to date me.
Yeah, but that kind of falls apart when you realize the systems don't really work properly in each game. The elements are all there, but either not all in a single MMO, or they are divided and don't work properly, like said by >>100672654
A real shame too because, like I said, I'm a fan of FFXIV, but it either fails in some things quite badly or it gets the good mechanics and doesn't push all the way through.
What do you think life in Akiba would be if the small guilds actually formed a council? Would that motivate the bigger guilds, or would that press them into taking a more violent way?
They probably would've formed the Round Table Council eventually if the small guilds had banded together.
The bigger guilds would still rape the smaller ones.
Mmh, you're right, I believe the more pressing question would be how Japan would fare if Shiroe didn't form Log Horizon at all.
Rather, the more important question is: what type of pervert are you?
I want her to marry me.
I heard that there are continent related servers and that Europe gets Inquisitor special class.
But would it really be effective? There should be like EU WEST, EU EAST, EU NORTH servers to avoid lags in such a big and complicated game.
Or would each country get it's own unique class? Like Hussars in Poland or Cossacks for Ukraine?
Would be nice to see it.
Like Hussars being tank/rider class with unique armament being wings providing unique solo/team bonuses. Class also gets bonuses and ability to activate certain skills while mounted.
Uses hussar sabre and lance with pennant on them. Crossbows for ranged combat. Or lances if ranged isn't available to all the classes.
Castle of Stone tier special ability would be getting into the enemy group( either on mount or using wings to flight and slam into them), stun and damage them and then give them slowly decaying slow penalty. After activating it Player can't move for a few seconds and also gets some slow penalty although shorter than enemies.
BTW. If you look for Zawisza Czarny you can find similarities with Crusty.
One of the greatest knights, great with diplomacy and sometimes described as berserker during fights( as in nobody can stop him and enemies get slain left and right).
I wonder if they would allow usage of 2xtwo hand sword.... since Polish knights used to fight like this.
Of course they would get great penalties to balance it... but would be fun to see guy with 2x claymore.
There might be some historical subclasses, but I would think there are at minimum 1 (Samurai) and at most 3 (1 from each class group) unique classes per server.
Just woke up and caught up to what I missed in the last thread.
To the f/tg/uy that asked.
I would roleplay Bueno Excellente with a Human Monk/Prostitute
I agree, the division would make things both easier and more organized. It's probably like that, I mean, Japan is divided in 4 servers, right?
I wonder if any class or special class can wield 2 two-handed swords indeed. Maybe Guardians at a sufficient high level? Failing that, you can always roll Guardian or Samurai and use a massive claymore.
>Use huge claymore for blunt damage
What I want to see though is someone with a big, thick armor and a polearm to match it.
Just like my bad musou vidgams.
Japan is only 1 server.
Go to sleep poland, you are drunk.
NA servers have gunsling class.
We Roland Deschain now
Oh god I just remembered that when RO released the gunslinger class I swooped up that name right before I stopped playing. I bet somebody got mad.
... Oh, it's a single server divided into 4 regions then? Alright, I got that wrong then, my apologies.
Someone probably's still mad about it. Gunslinger was a welcome addition, but the skill tree was disappointing, to say the least. Same with Ninja.
The thing is, when distilled to their essence, everything is Kill X Collect Y Talk to Z. Anything you think is more than that is just obfuscating one of those 3 elements.
Yeah, there are only 13 total servers, 14 if you count the test server.
You can't really add anyting for west-europe since knights, clerics and druids are all already included in the game. For north you could go vikings and for east cossacks, but that's about it.
I here we're getting gunslingers soon too, in RO2
Still f2p p2w?
Its grind2win at the moment
I played RO2 for a bit, but yeah, found it to be depressingly bland.
Like a watered down version of classic WoW.
Is this some sort of meme? What is the significance of Roland Deschain?
Quests till you hit 50. Pain in the ass chain quests to open dungeons with decent gear. Then they make you grind another 20 master levels for more stats and better equips. And priests rule pvp. Ded gaem
Anon, playing dumb isn't funny.
who is roland deschain?
>Make a guild
>Only requirement is to be a Maid/Butler subclass
I remember some great Priest builds for RO1 regarding PvP, but yeah, seems like it's easier for Priests to rule PvP in RO2.
>Not reading actual books like The Dark Tower
Assuming you aren't playing dumb in order to get the exact responses you got.
Roland Deschain is a character from a series of very long running, insanely popular books called the Dark Tower series. He is relevant to what was said because he is THE gunslinger. The last of his kind and a sort of knight errant how wanders the worlds with his two guns trying to find the Dark Towers so he can save the multiverse from falling into ruin. The series is very good, even though some books are slower than others. It isn't really an action series despite it being a story of a gunslinger and having fights in it. It is more of a tale of metaphysical danger to the multiverse and a man driven by his ideals being forced to decide whether or not sacrificing his soul to save everyone is worth it.
The twist in the end is that he has reached the Dark Tower before, many many times in fact, and each time he arrives and completes his quest he remembers everything and falls into despair the moment before the multiverse is rebooted. Despite knowing that everything will happen again, and that he is destined to suffer this endless cycle to revive the world he is allowed to change one thing each time, so there is the hope that if he continues this cycle of karma trapped in the klein bottle he may one day, after an infinite amount of reboots, be able to literally protect the smile of everyone how has ever lived.
We're all talking about a legitimately good series of novels, and you guys really want to start talking about the Dark Tower? Seriously?
Nah, just answering that one person.
What about the mooks, by the way? The ones who wanted to PK Shiroe at the start? I've only now begun to read the LNs.
Questions of it's quality aside, anon asked a question, in a thread that goes off topic fairly regularly, and was answered. There is no need to get mad because people like something you don't.
Fuck this SAO ripoff, let's talk about WoW, spiders and serarara's big fat butt.
People who like the Dark Tower are the cancer of /lit/. I'll be mad at whatever I want, dammit.
HERE COMES THE DEUS EX MACHINA
But you aren't on /lit/
That would be like going to /tg/ and getting made because someone started talking about how /co/ Lucifer is similar to Asmodeus in a D&D thread because you come from /a/.
Like literally the exact same thing.
I will hurt you
Although if the topic is "how would you bully Serara" then it's fine.
Why must Serara bullies exist
you would all be blacklisted from every town if I was in charge.
What's wrong with bullying Serara?
I agree, we have not had much discussion on how you would bully Serara lately.
I would tell her to go clean the guildhall and in return I would make a delicious pie. She would happily scamper off and I would pull all the ingredients out and lovingly craft the first and best apple pie in Akiba. When it is finally done, I would hide behind the door frame and call out, "Serara, the pie is done. Hurry hurry hurry!" And listen for her pounding footsteps to approach. At the last second, I would stick my foot out and trip her. As she is laying on the ground holding her knees and crying I would walk over, kneel down, and ask what happened and if she is okay. She would sniffly and look at me and say she tripped over something. I would take her face in my hands and tell her, "Oh sweety, you are too clumsy because you are so fat. Making pie probably wasn't the right thing to do. I guess I am going to have to eat it all." Then I would stand up, walk over to the table and eat the whole pie, one slice at a time. Eventually she would walk over and ask for a slice, and I would tell her that she needs to be watching her weight if she is falling down all the time. When she brings up that I promised I would give her some for cleaning the guild hall I would point out that I never said I would give her anything if she cleaned, just that I would make a pie. She would start to sniffle again and run off to her room and break down crying.
After I had finished the pie, I would go to her room, sit down on her bed, lean in and whisper into her ear in a dead voiced monotone. "There is no need to cry Serara. Even if you are so disgustingly fat that no normal person would like you, I would still care for you. Even though that will be awfully hard, even for a nice guy like me. It might be easier if you learned to how to make me happy."
I would then take her tiny hand and place in on my crotch while staring in her eyes and not smiling.
There's nothing wrong with spiders. In fact, you're in its web right now.
It's called the World Wide Web for a reason.
I would be a Sorc/Sigilmaker with a melee build.
That's pretty mean.
>Seriously asking that question
Demikas, go very far away and think on your wrongdoings.
Bullying is just another way to show you love someone.
Honestly I would care about Serara like no one else in the Database would. She is ugly, fat, and pretty useless. I would care for her, provided she treated me right, and give her life some meaning and value.
Casting fist erryday
I thought of exactly the same.
Maybe a melee Sorcerer would be able to imbue their fists with elemental/magical power with some creativity?
Or just cast ORB OF LAVA as soon as they're about to land a punch.
She isn't even that fat you meanieface
I see your Sorcerer and raise you a Monk/Sigilmaker with every single sigil specced for evade.
They are able to imbue weapons with elemental power so I think it's possible to do it with fists too.
All that denial
Just a little chubby, and she has a cute ass.
>Call her fat
People like you would force Serara into very unhealthy food-abstinence habits and so on.
I approve more please.
I want spiders to bully this anon.
I want to bully you
Stop it, you can't bully Anon
>IMMA BIG BEAUTIFUL WOMAN! THIS IS FAT SHAMING, YOU'RE A BIGOT! HEALTHY AT ANY SIZE, HEALTHY AT ANY SIZE.
Don't get so worked up anon, you will start sweating and have to call your mom in to help you change your mumu. You will probably need like three Big Macs to recover all your lost calories after that.
AH AH not so deeply, you wouldn't want to have to work now would you?
Now relax and have another nice handful of butter.
Don't you feel better now?
But I'm a skinny little girl.
That's more than an inch she's pinching there
Maraphoned available 16 episodes yesterday, and this shit is actually enjoyable!
2nd season when?
She needs to gently corrected. I would make her stand there and watch me eat every meal, poking her in the gut every time she reached for something. I would keep her with me 24/7 and make her sleep on the side of the bed facing the wall so she couldn't escape without waking me. Every time I caught her crying I would get face to face with her and tell her "didn't you want to be thin? I thought you wanted people to think you are pretty? I would like you even if you are a fatass" I would do this for however long it would take her to break down sobbing and tell me that she didn't want to be pretty, she just wanted to have something to eat. I would grab her and hold her in my arms and tell her that everything is okay, I still loved her. I would then take her out to the nicest restaurant I could find, ask her what she thinks looks good. Hopefully she would say that she couldn't decide because a few things looked delicious. I would order everything she mentioned and when it arrived have the waiter put it all in front of her. I would drink wine while she ate. Eventually she would start to get full and slow down.
This is the moment I have been waiting for.
I would ask her if she wasn't hungry, and when she tells me she is full I would tell her, "that's a shame. I guess you are still dead set on being pretty. I guess we will have to go back on our little diet, now won't we?" At these words her breath would catch in her throat, and with a trembling hand she would reach down and mechanically start eating. I would continue drinking and watch. When she starts to get sick, I would ask her if she is full again, she would shake her head and keep eating. She would make herself so sick she would vomit at the table. I would call her a disgusting animal and tell her just how lucky she is to have someone as loving as me to forgive her terrible manners. I would make her stand and apologize to the entire restaurant. When we got home would fuck her while she cries.
Maybe sometime after S1 actually finishes airing?
p-please continue anon, my dick is harder than diamonds now
Christ, all this terrible copypasta, specially from >>100683571
Sorcerers can too, but it's something up for discussion, I believe Mamare could well answer that.
>Engage enemy first with Astral Bind, then with Thorn Bind Hostage
>Buff self with basic things like Force Step, Haste, Keen Edge, and Mage Howling
>Punch enemy while casting Electrical Fuzz to break the binds
We'll have to wait for an official announcement after the end of Episode 25, or hopefully sometime earlier. But it's NHK, there'll probably be a 2nd season, specially since Volume 6 is coming out this 2nd semester (September/October), and Season 1 seems to cover up'till Volume 5. Maybe we'll get some OVAs on the other LNs (Greatest Party OVA needs to happen) so the anime gets a better insight on how the rest of the world/guilds are faring, and also to keep us entertained until S2 shows up.
I'm betting S2 will only actually happen by the end of 2015, though.
Oh god I just want to push her into a corner and tell her she is useless and holding her team back and that no one likes her because she is fat. I would grab the top of her head with one hand and force her head down and tell her to look. Then I would lift her shirt with my other hand and shake her belly. "Just look at how disgusting you are. Did you ever really think someone like you could help others? Nobody likes you because they can take one look at your body and see how useless you would be. Being a maid helps, but when you eat all the food in the house even that becomes a useless skill. If I were you I would feel ashamed that I wasn't a real person. No one could ever care about someone who looks like you." When she starts to tear up and breath heavily, I would slide my hand down from the top of her head, grab her face and start squeezing. I would tell her how lucky she is that she knows a guy as nice as me who is able to overlook how worthless she is if she learns how to make me happy. Then while she is trying to hold back her tears and breathing heavily I would grab one of her tits and twist it, licking up the tears that ran down her cheek before whispering in her ear, "you know, if you acted the right way, I could even learn to love you. Isn't that nice? No one else will, but a good guy like me is even able to find the good in someone who looks like you." Then I would strip her clothes off and then fuck her throat raw.
Well, in Ragnarok Online, Sorcerers (3rd job of Professors) can cancel the last bolt skill they cast and redirect the energy summoned into a melee attack of the same element as the bolt skill cancelled.
>But it's NHK, there'll probably be a 2nd season, specially since Volume 6 is coming out this 2nd semester (September/October), and Season 1 seems to cover up'till Volume 5.
That doesn't sound like enough material for a second season.
Unless you mean they'll wait for more books after that.
It's time for stew
He's wrong anyways, vol 7 is already out.
>Want to cast Lightning Chamber
>The enemy will be in your face before you finish
>Put Lightning Chamber's effect into your weapon
>Strike the enemy
>Auto cast lightning chamber
>Volume 6 is coming out
What are you talking about, we're already up to 7 volumes.
It only works on Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt and Lightning Bolt, though.
I couldn't come up with LH's bolt equivalents off hand so I just used Lightning Chamber.
It is? We are?? I had no idea, awesome!
But yeah, NHK would wait until some more material showed up I suppose. Then again, the first five volumes are the intro to the world, they could make an S2 just by using more budget to elongate what already exists.
You're right, that's what most resembles Lightning Bolt at least. The other two should be Frost Spear and maybe Flare Arrow? It splits itself later though, depending on the number of negative status on the targeted enemy.
>tfw miss minori is left untouched by bullying anons
feels good man
Why would we bully a cute?
Because that side ponytail does things to people man
cause unlike serara she's actually useless
>not 'don't you feel butter now?'
Jesus fucking christ, how based can you get. Especially William and Isaac.
I wish we get a Nip translator and some nip raws on this.
We'd catch up to the official release pretty fast.
Someone get that bastard js06 who does Index LNs into LH
He doesn't like LH and he's got a lot of stuff on his hands. I'm pretty sure he does a bunch of manga scanlations in addition to LNs.
And the Chinese V7 came out/comes out soon, doesn't it?
Doesn't he TL for redhawks too?
Should we fix these?
So anons, did you eat curry this month?
I ate curry udon, but that doesn't really count now does it?
I live right next door to India, we have curry but it's nothing like the Nip derivative which is actually derived and based on the British invention of curry powder.
Yeah, I think so.
Removing honorifics and such, but not TL-ing last names to first names so it all sounds awkward.
i had a microwavable tika masala a few hours ago if that counts
I used curry powder in an egg wash to coat some beef. Does that count?
I've never had curry in my life, must taste nice though.
Never had one
It depends on the type, and how it ir prepared.
Nope. I was lied to by the meal I got and the curry chicken pie had no curry in it.
>I've never had curry in my life, must taste nice though.
Go read Addicted to Curry, it's a fun manga and it will enlighten you all about the different kinds.
good you don't want to smell like an indian now do you.
Indians smell like curry? They always smelled like gaoline and beer to me.
Now you know how to make curry
the people who lived in my house previous were indians and the house smelt like curry for months, not the good kind of smell either
also, why do the japs enjoy curry so much?
It's tasty as fuck?
Jap curry is different than ind curry
Mmh, seems pretty interesting, I'll give it a read!
What's wrong with the Australian Server?
There's more types of curry than indian. Beside.s I dont like that red stuff. too much onions for my taste and not my favorite flavor.
Fag here, what is curry? Rice + some kind of sauce?
See previous thread.
Holy shit, are you serious right now.
Spiders and emus
go to a Japanese resturant right now and order curry rice
Spiders ate all the humanoids. Now it's an eternal battle between the spiders and their allies and the emus.
By the way, has he updated the site with localized classes yet?
Are you serious friend? Even rednecks know what curry is.
I've heard of curry, of course, but I've never had any or been around any.
Eh, I don't like rice so I guess It would make sense that I wouldn't know anything about curry.
Get curry udon then
I want to know the story behind that FF14 healer
Lucky for you, that cutscene is on youtube.
Curry time, nyaa~!
How much the difference between nips and ind curry? Indofags here and we've live next to shitload kinds of curry.
Eleven curry is more like a savory stew
>The tank ran out of range while the healer was casting
Yeah no, that one is entirely on his head.
Its a common beginner's mistake to get a head of the group.
I want to play with her hair and make her wear fancy dresses.
6-10 would not bully
I want to hold her hand.
Bullying Minboring would be boring.
You can't just bully her. You have to put her on the defensive.
You have to rape her.
She got raped daily by dozens of men at Hamelin didn't she?
The prosecution presents Exhibit A.
But she's perfect for doing just that. How can you not dress her up in a cute girly dress and put her in a display case?
Look at tubby making off with a tray
Not to mention her deformed freak foot.
I would grab her by the wrist and spank her in the middle of the guild hall for being so rude
No bullies allowed!
No, go to an INDIAN restaurant and order actual fucking curry. Nip curry is a goddamn travesty.
stop shilling vishnu
Calm down, they're not even the same fucking thing.
This is the most accurate description of the curry I had from my host family and from the cafeteria at college when I was in Japan for a month.
There was another curry I had that was like a black tar, but was surprisingly decent. They were a chain that had a few locations in NYC iirc. Go! Go! Curry I think it was.
We aren't talking about Indian curry faggot. Stop sticking your head in shit you don't understand hadji
The little details are the wonders of the database.
The small designs on Marielle's glass.
The individual ingredients of every single dish.
The creases on every piece of clothing.
It is all the wonders of the database.
How is this possible? (having lived in big cities my entire life) Where do you live?
>DATABASE is the state religion
I can't wait to log in the database!!
Soon. Don't lose hope!
I live in Brazil, curry isn't that big of a thing in here, specially Japanese-styled curry, but I'll look up some recipes and try my best to mimic that.
Jap curry is instant. Order the shit online and use fresh ingredients. It is delicious.
I thought there are lots of Japanese immigrants in Brazil. I guess they immigrated before curry got popular in Japan?
Is this what I think it is?
But you are already living in the Database.
You're practically next door to the west indies. They have meats of all kinds in curry form. There's literally no importation or movement of immigrants from there except to get AWAY from Brazil?
the author of no gradient hair no life is Brazilian
How cute would Serara be when you are pinching her love handles hard enough to make her cry?
Mmh, I'll try, thanks!!
There are, but not in the city I live. I wish I lived in the one they immigrated to though, there's even a Japanese neighborhood and traditional festivals.
But there's no magic, or other fantasy elements, so it's a rather boring simulation.
>Practically next door
In truth, it's possible to import things, but depending on them, taxes are a real murder.
>yfw ~150% taxes on games
I'm pretty sure flicking her forehead would be enough to make that fattie cry.
No problem. Now give me a Hue Hue Hue
I have never seen an authentic Brazilian do it before
I don't know moonrunes, can someone explain?
Ad I thought the stores here jacking up the prices 2-3x(after the 20-50% ta at customs) for everything was rough. Then they wonder why smuggling stuff from the US to save money is a national pasttime and online shopping took off by storm.
>But there's no magic, or other fantasy elements, so it's a rather boring simulation.
Maybe our world is awesome, compared to the level above it.
Well we can always nest another one. Grass is greener.
>Roguhora no shinario kaigi wa, kyakuhon-ka 4-ri ga nikoniko shinagara odayakana kotoba de, hoka no kyakuhon-ka no kaita kai no shinario o yōshanaku tataku to iu, ima omoeba kekkō osoroshī genbadatta. Gyaku ni darekaga tsumattara hokanohito ga kaiketsu-an o dasu bamen mo atta. Sō ieba, daichi hito no on'nanoko no ningyō no aidea wa dare karadeta ndarou
>Scenario meeting of Roguhora is a mild word four writers are smiling, that beat relentlessly scenario of times written by playwright other, it was pretty horrible site if you think that now. There was also a scene that other people give a solutions if someone stuck in reverse. Come to think of it, from whom the idea of the girl doll of the earth who would do came out
I have no clue of what the hell is in there, except for the number 4.
That's overstretched, from what I can tell we laugh as most people throughout the world, and to be fair I try to distance myself from the ones lacking netiquette.
Sony in particular likes to pull shit moves like that, specially at the start. The PS4 in here is at about 2k dollars, importing it from Amazon is just $800 (after taxes to the hardware).
Grass is indeed greener. I'd trade our world for ET in a snap.
I also tried the translation for the tweet and could not understand shit. We need a JPanon here stat.
Or maybe whenever they can find time for that.
You are saying the Gobs have Dollgirl in their rape cave?
You don't have a dollgirl or two in your basement?
No I lost the auction for the Yaya Dolphie and the lowest I could find it for was $1900. If I had $200 I could have gotten it.
>At the Log Horizon scenario meeting, there were four writers talking calmly when one of them came up with a horrible idea. And thus, the fate of the little Person of the Land girl was decided.
Are they talking about 4 writers making some fan fictions? Or is this about next episode?
writers pls ;_;
The Log Horizon Scenario Meeting is an event where the four scenario writers discuss about their written scenarios with each other; I think seeing them do their work is something amazing. There are also times when the others complete the plan in the absence of another, if one of the writers becomes stuck with lots of work. Come to think of it, I wonder who came up with the idea of the Lander girl's doll...
Nope, that would be the Chinese release of Volume 6. We'll have to wait until late summer for a translation of of volume 7.
So what's the deal with Magus in the WWB manga spinoff?
So recalling the Simulation Argument made me think:
Theldesia, the world of Elder Tale, is a simulation. However, so is the "Earth" where Shiroe lives.
Either through an accident or an intentional decision on the part of the people running both simulations, some (or all) inhabitants of the "Earth" simulation are shunted into the Theldesia simulation. It could simply be that the Earth simulation was being shut down and the researchers didn't want to 'murder' the inhabitants.
So all of the characters are living in a database, and always have been.
Mamare claims to have been inspired by the seminal paper "Homesteading the Noosphere", and in fact the expansion is called that. The simulations the characters are living in constitute a noosphere, the world only of minds.
>They killed off the loli
He's actually a she.
Okay. Well, we're still not that far behind.
See, I was wondering about that. I wasn't sure if it was going to go the homo route or not.
But isn't Magus kind of weak? ONly lvl 72...
Not a complete translation.
>At the Log Horizon scenario meeting, there were four writers talking calmly when one of them came up with a horrible idea.
>There were also writers who tried to come up with an alternative to it.
>Though, I don't remember who came up with the idea for them to bury the doll.
Is "Homesteading the Noosphere" the official English name of the expansion? Because it sounds completely ridiculous.
It is. Look it up, it's an actual essay.
>>Though, I don't remember who came up with the idea for them to bury the doll.
Whoever it was deserves a raise. At first I was like "That's kind of silly", but then I realized that no one in the DATABASE leaves a body behind. Then it just hurt.
I thought "Noosphere Pioneers" was the official English name.
That's a bad translation.
No, I know about the essay. I just thought it was a reference instead of a copy/paste job.
Pioneers of the Novasphere is like a subtitle or alternate title. The primary title was Homesteading of the Noosphere.
I don't know why they would pick that as a name. I mean, I understand the history of homesteads and how they were used to promote the colonization of the American frontier, but why Noosphere?
Name is copy and pasted, Mamare confirmed on twitter that the essay is one of the themes and basis for the story.
Go read the essay anon.

So if a deaf or mute person was logged on for the apocalypse would they regain those senses?
Imagine an MMO with no friendly NPCs
Every server starts right after an apocalypse type event, and the entire world simply shut down because all the NPCs who had been there died.
There's still monsters and bosses, occasional quests from things like treasure maps, levelling and all the trappings of an MMO, but there are no venders, no quest givers. Monsters almost only drop crafting ingredients and all of your equipment has to be crafted or purchased from other players.
Touya couldn't walk in the real world, so probably.
It's a 'new' body, so yes.
I... Believe not.
Touya can walk, but that's a physical disability: he knows the world around him, and how it sounds like, but the only thing he can't do is walk, which he got used to in ~1 day in the anime (bullshit that it takes just a day but Suspension of Disbelief is on play here).
Hearing and vision are senses that ingrain in your memory what you know as the sounds and images of the real world. You're transported there, and become your avatar, but your mind's the same, so I would assume you can't regain those, sadly.
Unless it's a completely new body, but I still think it'd be really hard to adapt.
That sounds really interesting, actually.
I've read that, but a LONG time ago! Now I know why you guys talking about it rang some bells, it's cool Mamare-san took part of it from there.
>purchased from other players.
Wouldn't it have to be bartering? There would presumably be no currency.
(Also, my apologies: I'm aware deafness and blindness are also physical disabilities, but they have a more direct and crucial input with the brain than walking)
I don't think it'd work out.
What the fuck are you doing?
you could make it a great economy analysis tool and give every player who logs in X gold for their first character and no other currency
So it's MMO Minecraft.
>For Teilhard, the noosphere emerges through and is constituted by the interaction of human minds. The noosphere has grown in step with the organization of the human mass in relation to itself as it populates the Earth. As mankind organizes itself in more complex social networks, the higher the noosphere will grow in awareness. This concept extends Teilhard's Law of Complexity/Consciousness, the law describing the nature of evolution in the universe. Teilhard argued the noosphere is growing towards an even greater integration and unification, culminating in the Omega Point - an apex of thought/consciousness - which he saw as the goal of history.
The Apocalypse was the result of nerdkind reaching the Omega Point, leveraging the combined psychic powers of all Elder Tales players to reshape the world into a facsimile of the game world. Shiroe caused the World Fraction.
No currency but what you make of it. Be kinda neat if you could retire an adventurer as well to turn them into an NPC and various stuff to effect the economy. To get past the bartering stage a round table of sorts would need to be established to decide the currency however.
It is a completely new body. That should be 100% obvious. People have different heights, fucking genders changed, how could it not be a new body?
That sounds disgusting. Mostly because it reminds me of TF2 hat economies.
Was anyone here the other day ago when a blind guy asked /a/ a question about the way characters moved in anime and got trolled to fuck and back until he left crying?
Shit was fucking hilarious
Like slimeballs in pre-Emerald Minecraft.
the body is new, but not the mind
Whether deaf/blind/mute comes back depends on the ailment
things like conduction deafness or brain damage would heal, but psychological impediment would remain
You'd probably just have a Stone of Jordan-like situation, where useful but somewhat rare consumables take the place of currency.
he wasn't "trolled", he was pruposeddly shitposted for being a blogging faggot.
self moderation is usually trolling
Exactly, conditions would vary, but for the sake of example, if someone was born completely deaf, it's highly unlikely--actually, pretty sure that they'd also have no hearing after transported to Elder Tale.
I don't think you know how blindness/deafness/etc work.
No, the body AND the mind are new. It's the Psyche that's unchanged.
Put simply, the collection of memories that make up a person are unchanged, but they've been transplanted into a new brain.
Touya knows how to walk. Minori even hints that her brother was disabled protecting her from an accident.
Guy was born to be a tank.
Lately it's been more of a straight fuck off.
That's what I'm thinking. Different crafting materials mostly being the currency and crafters being a combination of banker/economist.
Not to mention saying biology in elder tale is equivalent to that in the real world is dumb.
And even if that weren't the case, 1) <4% of blindness is congenital and 2) congenital blindness isn't "psychological" whatever the fuck that means.
How many materials would there be? I'd assume there would have to be at least dozens, and they can't have a vertical hierarchy.
To make it work properly it would need a wide range of common to uncommon and rare. Effects ranging from weak to potent. As well as different types coming from different areas so no one can claim a monopoly and forcing people to work together. Random item acquisition may be a good OR bad thing.
The only possible way a fresh body wouldn't restore your senses is if you'd convinced yourself you couldn't use them
Mmh... Then yes, they would acquire those senses back, it'd just be a shocker at first.
How much damage can you do to a body in Elder Tale before you respawn? Could you put out the eyes of someone, for example, and leave them eyeless at near full health? WOuld they be regrown if you were healed?
>a sight for sure eyes to the blind would be awful majestic
>it would be the most beautiful thing that they had ever seen
>it would cause such surprise it would make all if their minds electric
>how could anyone tell them that some things are not what they seem
A guy in the WWB manga has his arm chopped off, and the next time he appears, it's back. So yeah, you can heal lost limbs and damaged senses using magic.
You have to take defense into account. Someone tried to poke Crusty in the eyes.
No. We won't know the current poll totals, nor which Mamare will choose until next month.
I want to see updated character polls.
I know Akatsuki will be first again, but I want to see how the other girls and characters place.
>be blind and play videogames
Formation, Operator, Field Monitor, Patrol File...
Shiroe-san taught me a bunch of useless things that don't happen to be useful in most modern MMOs!
You can apply them in DayZ and other first-person MMOs.
It's a song from Wax Fang. About how people who lost a sense would find the world if they gained it back. Specifically those who never had the sense initially. I thought it fit. Imagine a deaf guy being pleased at the most annoying sounds just because he can hear them.
Those are just routine procedures that most expert players are expected to practice mentally. For example, a rear guard healer should keep watch of the party's surrounding for any incoming patrol packs. But since the ET world is their world now, Shiroe has to make a field manual for her and possibly for public use should anyone decide to take it to a printing press.
Man, I didn't even think of that. Right in the feels.
> town evacuated and hid in the hills
>little girl meets Touya
>hey big bro did you see my doll down there? I dropped it.
Mmh, I just never thought of those terms, I suppose. but on second thought the idea does seem pretty natural to use when hunting/in dungeons.
Thats because those aren't real terms, those are just things you do. Watching for oncoming cars doesn't have a term, its just something you're expected to do.
Please, there are probably whole dungeons of spider monsters in Elder Tales
Joke totally went over your head.
Try asking anon about Australia
No, no, NO.
Pic very fucking related.
Fuck the Australian dungeons and their wasp-riding sentient spiders.
What can a lone berserker do in the face of such madness? It is not enough to simply let ones rage burn within to strengthen the might of his arms, the speed of his step, the ferocity of his voice. Upon these dark times we call upon the sorcerer with the best fire spells and the summoner who had made a contract with the spirit with the biggest boot.
The spiders were at war with the wasps. You are saying...the spiders won? We must fight flying arachnids?
They rode those damn wasps straight into our flying fortress! We were fools when we thought the skies would keep us safe and sound.
Oh, and those fire tornadoes, don't get me started.
Man, fuck the Australian server so hard.
Good news, you get to tank~!
You just made me imagine straya on fallout universe.
watching this gave me an mmo itch again.
Go look through /vg/ and take a look at the MMO threads, most of the f2p ones are shit, RO is filled with drama and pinoy scums, blade and soul is filled with chink shit.
Take a look at the paid ones, too NEET to pay monthly fees for new FF, don't feel like spending money on dayz and it's still buggy shit.
Only thing that looks even slightly passable is EVE but I don't feel like paying and I would have to spend months just to train some guy to get into logi so I can be a space priest, also I'm sick of all the serious business and just want a game to take it easy in.
This talk of spiders has got me thinking.
What is going to stop a guild from creating chemical weapons like fear gas bombs? Weapons that would psychologically terrorize the shit out of Adventurers?
I've heard tales. Tales of spiders running on water. I met an Aussie one day. He explained to me that this was not true. The water flees from the spider. Not to mention the boot spiders. I cannot understand how anyone lives in such a place.
There will never be a good one
You can get 21-day free trials for EvE.
This. Congenital blindness/deafness actually causes more "damage" as neuroplasticity reassigns the visual and auditory centers of the brain for other purposes (blind people typically interpret braille with the visual cortex, for example).
that would what just get me into a tackling frigate and a cruiser with t1 at best.
What? You can get to Cruiser 1 in less than 5 days.
With 21 free you can work towards buying a PLEX and going full F2P.
Well the main obstacle would be developing fear gas.
Cause you'd have to find people who were good at chemistry, then discover the proper ingredients to produce the effect. But if you can get all that then nothing would stop you from gassing people with fear bombs
How did that one Chinese guild manage to tame riding wolves?
Can they do the same with the Wyverns around that mountain in Yamato?
What? Do tell more about this.
It's been a long while since I last played but how far can you go with cruiser 1?
Also if plexes are still 300mil a pop it's going to end up more like a job than a game to make sure I make enough money to keep playing.
Ridable wolves shouldn't be a big deal. Its no different from taming ridable bears in America.
Yes, because they are mounts from the game. The rarest flying mount in the game is the wyvern. It's not that they tamed them, its that they have wolf mounts.
Hes talking about the wolf cavalry guild in the Chinese server called Rakunami Wolf Calvary
It's hard, even with EVE's method of going F2P through PLEX working, you still feel like it's a job sometimes.
I'm looking at things too, but honestly, the "best" solution is FFXIV, even though it has the instances and it isn't as engaging/fun as the things we want due to Log Horizon's itch.
I still think that yes, you wouldn't be able to recover, but if the /brain/ and body are both new, and the only thing that you carry over essentially is your psyche (your personality, your own experiences--your self), then yeah, it's possible. Unless it's from some horrible psychological trauma or something. Anxiety and the like are still a thing in Elder Tale, it seems.
God damn it Australia.
Taming monsters wouldn't be that hard, I suppose there's a subclass for that? Either way, if you can do most things as in the real world, it should be possible to tame monsters, although making an item to summon them and turn them into rides is another thing altogether.
An Assassin/Pharmacist would be able to, no doubt. There must be herbs to cure status effects, so there must be herbs to cause them---hell, just look at poisons. They're made somehow, right? You'd just need a few days/weeks in a lab, some samples, and that's it. Same for other more dangerous things, like rudimentary incendiary grenades and such, and these can easily be used by Swashbucklers, with their throwing abilities.
There's a subclass specifically for poisons if you wanted to make/manipulate them. No need for a Pharmacist.
Even better then.
Is there any scifi mmo that plays like a fantasy one? With or without instances. I don't care.
Cruiser 1 are the basic cruisers. I forget which ones they are for the various factions, but they're decent for running level 2 combat missions because they're so much tankier than the frigate opponents you'll be fighting. They're also fine for running transport missions or mining, though you'd be better off specializing in a mining cruiser or moving up to cruiser 2 if you want to go faster and make a better profit.
But the goal of the 21-day period isn't to explore the game; it's make the most money you can, at least 700 million ISK, so you can buy a PLEX license and have a bundle of savings left over. You can redeem the PLEX for a month of playtime, and by that point you should be levelled enough so that you can make enough for a PLEX is two weeks or less.
Oh, really? So when they expand they're just making/getting more summonable wolf trinkets?
I thought they were taming wild animals like the Goblins tame the direwolves.
They most likely got the Great Wolf mounts like you acquire other mounts in Elder Tales, either buying or quests is what I assume. I doubt they just tamed wolves and rode them, since they would need to be Animal Tamer subclass, and then switch to Cavalryman
I prefer to think Britain has giant dogs you can ride.
Alternatively, the guild has some members who are Animal Tamers that tame and take care of the mounts and some members who are Cavalrymen who actually do raids and stuff.
BUT THEN IT WOULDNT BE A CAVALRY RAID MORON
IT WOULD BE A CAVALRY AND ANIMAL TAMER GUILD
JEEZ YOU JUST CANT GO A MINUTE WITHOUT FUCKING EVERYTHING UP CAN YOU
I'd still like to know, why is the Nordic server centered on Great Britain and not the actual Nordic countries?
Isn't Scandinavia the Nordic one? I think they're closest player base is Russia with st. Petersburg.
I wonder what Overskill things you can do as a Sigilmaker. Would it function similar to OnC's 2nd Gear's concept?
Region corresponding to United Kingdoms, they have formed a Star Knight Sword Alliance.
Londenium City in the Northern Europe server. Has a London, United Kingdom motif.
From the wiki.
There's a Western Europe, Nordic, and Russia server.
Probably an oversight. The actual Nordic land is the furthest north if I remember right. Doesn't make sense to divide the land that way unless they made the sea and possibly raiding extremely important to that region.
Is the official manga worth reading?
Maybe it's just because London is the last major world city that far north? I mean, what else is there? Copenhagen would be part of the Western Europe server, and the rest of Scandinavia and Iceland are small.
Well you should ask your mum, I told her last night when I was fucking her.
Sure, its pretty much just a shorter retelling of the novel with pictures, and showing a few scenes that weren't covered
>Using hashtags on 4chan
>Misspelling the word "wrecked"
Behold, the modern l33t2934k
Let's take a look shall we? Colors seem to define server boundaries and I guess it's in the same region for the Viking tradition of raiding by sea.
A HUGE land mass down at south pole and no one is talking about it. COME ON PEOPLE!
It's got no cities, anon. No one wants to live there.
No. I'm crotchety.
BUTTRAVAGED LOL MAD AS FUCK
Where did all these city names come from?
Are you sure?
You know what they say about ruins and dungeons there's nothing there but trouble.
There's no player cities and It's cold as the ninth circle of hell. I'm not going there.
You could always colonize it. Cold isn't much of a problem in ET as it is in the real world.
Mamare's world and Eurasia notes. Most were submitted by /a/nons though.
No. Fuck the cold. I'm not going there unless I'm a summoner with a 24/7 salamader to keep me warm. Just not happening.
>tfw when my guild gets me drunk and puts me on a boat to Antartica.
That explains The Brotherhood.
I feel like there aren't enough cities outside of Japan though.
I want to ask this to Mamare in his third Q&A.
Probably Antarctica has lots of undiscovered dungeons with high level monsters and raid bosses roaming over that snowy land, or just a dead land. And maybe, some nuts from Europe, America, and Aussie currently are sailing to there right now for fun.
There're probably level 150 monsters and stuff down there, guarding Alv ruins.
>What's in Antarctica?
Added to the list.
Any other questions in the thread that I missed?
>Lv. 150 Nessie beneath thick ice of Lake Vostok
Can people mod Elder Tales? Would that have effected them when they got sucked into the database?
There is gear you can wear that nullifies cold, and items you can have that do the same
>Not wanting to travel the frozen wastes in a big, fluffy, comfy coat with your party
I'm hoping this happens. I'm hoping for it so much.
You mean like how people in WoW use Recount or DBM?
Do I get sunglasses for the snow?
>The rarest flying mount in the game is the wyvern.
So who's got them?
Shiroe? Crusty? Isaac? They'd have to be a high-level achievement drop like the Griffons.
None of them, the rarest they have is the Griffon. Wyverns are super, fucking, stupid rare mounts
>Obtain a pair of sunglasses with cold resistance
>Go to the Antartic wearing them and super casual clothes
There's no fucking way San Francisco doesn't have a Hub Town analog.
Unless the town is already at the bottom of the sea. In which case, there needs to be a bunch of houses/apartments floating on the water w/ their main export as clams and fishing. I just want to make a house in the Bay Area. ;-;
Krusty is mysteriously disappeared along with Misa and never be seen again until now
He will come back riding super sanic fiery motorcycle with Misa, Skull Goblin King and Grim Reaper
Yeah, or modding player models or whatever.
It won't be for long. Dude is too badass.
It's probably just not a Player city with a transport gate and guild hall.
Krusty is the embodiment of Gud. Nothing can keep him down.
Im expecting him to return with a new suit of armor and a crazy new axe slung over his shoulder
I imagine some smartass coder would make Vallejo the only raid dungeon full of humanoid nignog monsters that carry guns and actually rob the player of Gold when they kill them.
The dungeon music would be surprisingly decent hiphop. But forreal, fuck that place. I drove over there one time to visit a friend and got caught in the middle of a driveby. I have no fucking clue how I didn't get hit, but holy shit.
Since they are probably just client mods, there should be no effect.
>Play Elder Tale with modded interface for 5 years
>Suddenly it's real
>Go out to explore, PK-ers appear
>Oh god, what is this interface
>Realize there's no food in the Antarctic except for penguins and seals
>Murder penguins for their meat and eggs
>Murder everything you come across like a Don't Starve player because it's not enough
Anyone know when's the TRPG rulebook coming out?
>Become the wild man of the frozen land
Is there a namechange function in ET now that everyone is in the Database?
Cause if there was I would rename myself Ithaqua and wander the frozen wastes PKing
>You will never know the joy of being a Sigilmaker broing it up with a Blacksmith and Scribe to make Quasi-Phantasmal Tier Weapons.
Hold me /a/. ;-;
The function might be in there, but the means to access it probably aren't.
Though who knows, maybe a scribe could whip something up.
This may be the fa/tg/uy in me, but I have a hard on for warforged. Is it possible to constuct one, or failing that something similar?
Unknown how "advanced" stuff is in the Elder Tales world, but Summoners have over a hundred possible servants to find, including golems, so maybe you'de be able to find something similar, but no you can't be anything close to a warforged
>End up in ET world
>Come across a dual wielding Swash Buckler douchebag
>His character name is Kirito
>His character looks like the SAO character
>Acts all brooding and loner-like (ie, try-herd edgy faggot version of "Cool")
Honest answers now, would you kill a jackass like that in this situation (being fully aware that they will just come back to life but will be somewhat traumatized by the experience none the less)?
No, I'd just shake my head at him and go on to go fight sea monsters
Got to teach scubs otherwise they will never Get Gud™
Why is there 3 cities on the west bank of Australia?
I would force him to drink an appearance change potion, it's for his own good, he'll get beat up less....slightly less.
Goddamn. The second half of Volume 5 is one hell of a wild ride.
All that emotional whiplash. Going from feelings of wonderment to tension to joy to depression to intense pity and empathy all in a single sitting really takes a lot out of you.
It hurts to see characters you've slowly grown to care about evaluate and confront their own shortcomings in such a secluded and introspective manner.
The translators and editors have also done a really good job in trying to make the scenes flow well in English, since there seems to be a lot of subtext involved.
Nureha a shit
The Nureha segment was actually kind of tense. I knew Shiroe wouldn't cave, but damn he was close
I enjoyed it.
Henrietta and Nureha's parts were especially delicious. And Minori and Akatsuki realizing they were rivals was fun.
Could Lander's not sail the seas until the Adventurer's appeared? I mean, in Volume 3 we have a Lander noble asking for the technology to sail the seas from Michitaka.
Actually that is a really good question, the three on the eastern side correspond with the locations of Melbourne (obviously), Sydney (Albion) and Canberra (Jarvis) which are all pretty major real world cities (Canberra is even Australia's center of government) but the Western three are all right next to each other for some reason, Perth is in the right place as are the other two but it seems like sort of a waste considering that there are more important places they could use than Mandurah or Fremantle, like Darwin, Hobart or Adelaide (not Brisbane though because it's too close to the other 3 eastern cities).
Can bards come up with new support songs in the same way scribes can write new contracts? Or can they replace the lyrics/notes of existing support sons with ones from the old world?
Well, it's probably due to the fact that Australia would have a limited population and ruins. Rather than distributing them around the continent, they're centered on those places that would've survived the cataclysm that destroyed the world in the first place.
To take advantage of a man's feelings of loneliness is sleazy and underhanded. She wasn't kidding when she said she'd learned a lot of things about men.
What made that particular facet of Shiroe feel even worse to me though was that Akatsuki had only just caught on to it, and her ninja RPing was what was enabling it more than anything despite how she really feels about Shiroe.
The fact that he's still always surprised by Akatsuki's sudden presence attests to just how isolated he feels at times.
Their relationship will most likely only develop by leaps and bounds once she's able to drop the whole "my lord's ninja" crutch.
She might not be able to. Her position is that of Female Knight's or Grand Princess Fire Dragon: She just wants to be there to help her loved one.
Minori knows Shiroe's loneliness and tries to combat it, as well as ease the burden on him. She's probably closer to him than Akatsuki is.
Nureha was a prostitute in the old world. She knows a LOT about men.
Shiroe recognises how much he leans on Akatsuki. He mentions it at the end of Vol4 and during Vol5 a couple of times. Minori is imouto-zoned, Henrietta is in denial, and Nureha offered him somebody to lean on in the context of "Join me, Luke, and we can rule the galaxy together!" and he nearly caved completely.
There should be a video compilation of all the scenes where anyone moves their glasses upwards. It'll probably take multiple people though.
At the very least we could make a screenshot gift of /glassesadjust.
But she understands that part of herself now, and realizes its holding her back. She realized that she isn't as close to Shiroe as she thought, all shes doing is acting the part, being indebted to him, but she has yet to close the gap between hearts.
I have eleven glassesadjust reaction images.
I was planning too when we get hold of the BDs
That's one of them.
You know, we've been talking about localized classes. I think the Samurai and Kannagi are probably the localized ones for the Yamato server.
My god, its all so clear now, the answers of the world are in sight!
No bully eversor, save that for fatloli.
How close did Shiroe come to join Nureha? And what made him pull back in the lightside instead of joining the darkside?
He realize Nureha isn't a loli
Shiroe is a lolicon, huh?
You are just now figuring that out?
I thought he was a man with broad tastes.
Penguin walking on the water
Yes he like little sister types, obedient servant loli types, sinister fox girl types etc
Why didn't Shiroe just declare his guild as a harem guild?
Great taste on the man. I want to give him a thumbs up.
Got to have tanks.
A Naotsugu is fine too.
It's not gay if it's bara
He probably realized that he needs to white knight Nureha, but by solving her problem, he needs to be an enemy. Shiroe also probably knew that someone is using Nureha.
I have no idea what they are doing or will this lead to something, you need to post more so more people can figure it out too.
I'd personally go with the fact that it's where vikings liked to raid. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason London traditionally has a strong navy in RL is due to having to fend off all those viking raids.
You guys realize that the real life location of a place has basically nothing to do with the monsters you find there, right? It's going to be random MMO/generic fantasy shit no matter what. Which means yes, there are probably spider dungeons on every server.
Decide for yourself.
>Akatsuki who is watching intently turns and looks Shiroe straight in the eyes. Akatsuki looks like she is about to say
>something, but she closed her lips as if she is giving up. She looks so lost and uneasy, but it makes Shiroe feel so
>peaceful and at ease.
>"Are you laughing my lord?"
>"No I'm not."
>"Yes, you are laughing."
>Shiroe repeatedly denies it while Akatsuki keeps pressing him, but she suddenly apologized in a gentle tone.
>"I didn't help much this time, apart from fighting, I have been holding you back."
>"That's not true Akatsuki."
>Akatsuki's words stunned Shiroe, throughout this one month since they attended the nobles' meeting, Akatsuki has
>always been by his side. She has been collecting intelligence from the dark and performing bodyguard duties in the
>light. The two of them also visited Ri Gan's library and came into contact with a part of the mystery of this world.
>Shiroe tells her this, but Akatsuki still looks depressed.
>(It is so hard to convey my gratitude.)
>Shiroe just wants to build and protect his home and this quiet young girl had always been helping him achieve his
>dreams. Shiroe who finally noticed this stood up without thinking.
>Shiroe stands up and gives his hand to the petite young girl looking at him from her chair. A round of applause
>sounded from the hall below and the second piece of music started to play.
>The bright lights shining down at the hall illuminates the balcony on the 2nd floor from below.
>"My lord, that... about dancing..."
>"You have practiced right?
>Shiroe took her hand and helped her up.
>Shiroe remembers that night where Akatsuki practiced her footwork in the palace courtyard. The steps that are
>complicated but not like martial arts are the dance steps Henrietta taught Shiroe.
>The quiet girl who is about his age but looks so young was practicing her dance in secret in the cool night breeze,
>repeating the movements until they are a part of herself, reflecting the uncompromising nature of Akatsuki.
>Only Shiroe knew this in the whole world.
>"My lord... you cannot laugh at me."
>"I am also a beginner, I won't laugh."
>In the dim and narrow balcony on the second floor, the two members of Log Horizon danced awkwardly to the waltz
>playing in the hall below.
>These are clumsy dance steps of the two who harbor concern for each other.
There are no spiders in my country. The central government eradicated all of them.
End of story. No spiders. No spider caves. No flying spider fortress. No spider dungeon. NO. SPIDERS.
Will they release a real playable Elder Tales?
I hear it is coming out right after teh 40KMMO
Yes, soon. If you preorder you get a free servant ninja for life.
Fuck that shit. I wanted a fatloli to bully
Don't bully Serara you monster.
She loves it. If she didn't she would leave.
>sakhalin and the kurils on the Japan server
Even if half the size of the real world,
Somehow the lack of cities , just somehow compels me to explore and establish towns.
No she doesn't love it all, there are no meanie bullies where she is anyway. They get banned from every zone in the town!
I wish I could dance with Akatsuki
She loves it. Would you like me to tell you about it?
Don't post that horrible pasta ;_;
Just think, for when that scene happens in the anime, right afterward it'll probably go into the comfy ED.
It's not pasta. Everything I write is OC. If it has been reposted that just means that somewhere out there is someone that knows the pure love I have for Serara and wants to share that with the world.
It will be really cute to watch
Yeah but then you lose out on being able to heal status/illnesses in the wild if you wanted to. Pharmacist is a better class once you level it enough imo. Why get only poisons when you can get poisons AND medicine?
Because Assasin like poison stronk
I wonder if the stealth skills have any limitations on them. Could you jump around all super stealthy and invisible while wearing Guardian armor?
Probably class restrictions.
More importantly, could you use stealth to spy on girls when they are changing clothes?
>Not wanting to be able to extort the poisoned person via offering him/her an antidote in exchange for a ransom.
You sicken me.
It sounded like it was a subclass thing.
The answer is yes, but the problem is you'll never keep your stealth undetected since the basic of tracker skill is spying AND counter-spying. And I think there are some items to reveal your stealth, for example Gem of True Sight in DoTA for counter Rikimaru's stealth.
I leave to bed and the thread picks up activity, damn.
>Cidade de Deus
>Implying our server city isn't fucked up beyond belief
>Still better than Melbourne
Also, "The Frozen City" sounds badass as fuck.
Berserker "Gud" Krusty really won't take long then.
It's okay, anon.
I would be on my way to training and ignore that idiot.
As much as there's a class restriction, it didn't look like it would be affected by armor and such.
Still, you can walk silently for instance, but you can't stop the armor from clinging and making noise; it's only common sense. That, and you can't run as fast as someone in cloth armor, so the Tracker subclass becomes a bit of a bother.
My actual question though is: can't someone sign a contract to change classes? How could that be written so players can change whenever they want?
I want to live in the frozen city.
No spiders. FROST SPIDERS DON'T EXIST
KEEP TELLING YOURSELF THAT. We are all fucked.
>My actual question though is: can't someone sign a contract to change classes? How could that be written so players can change whenever they want?
I'd probably require a ton of phantasmal-tier ingredients, since you know, the mechanics to change subclass were always there and outsourcing companies were always adding a ton of localised subclasses and stuff, so a new subclass isn't such a big deal. Even when it's given to a lander.
I'd shout to him "two years worth of semen"
One of the games Elder Tales is based upon is Ultima Online.
I have bad news for you.
So I submitted some ideas for localized oceanic classes
Cavaliers, based upon the Australian Light Horse Brigade in World War 1. focus on pulling the enemies using charging moves and high movement to keep them occupied. Downside is once dismounted you lose access to all weapons but swords (though your defense goes up) so in places you can't be in mounted combat you're simply a worse guardian.
Based upon the australian forces in the Kokoda track and who fought in the vietnam war (where they were known to use the Vietcongs tricks against them, silently discovering their camps and matching them in mind games). The class can be played two ways, Batman or Spiderman. Batman hangs in silence, watching his prey, laying traps without their noticing and dealing high damage while remaining but a whisper. Spiderman leaps in and unloads with his combos to deal high DPS damage.
The class has basically 0 defense though, so while it can handle solo mobs/win eventually with the Batman build, it needs a party to really be effective.
The traps can also inflict status ailments and "Terror" which causes the enemy AI to act erratic.
FUCKING GODDAMN IIIIIIIIIT
Only one option remain. We gather all the hardcore combat players and form an anti-spider guild. T-There can't be that many so far north, right?
So what MMOs that exist today are as close as you can get to playing Elder Tale? I've been giving Rift a try and it's sort of okay but missing that DATABASE feel
Guild Wars 2 is pretty damned close
Too bad it sucked so much, I was really looking forward to it ;_;
>so in places you can't be in mounted combat you're simply a worse guardian.
So... quite possibly several dungeons?
It's close but it lacks the core contents to make you feel in the database. I don't know what it is, specifically, but it feels artificial at times. I'm currently playing Ragnarök 1, but that's because it's the closest I can get from Tree of Savior before it launches.
Fucking hell. Yeah, we need to have one anti-spider guild to outsource their skill. They're going to get so fucking rich when striking the Oceania servers.
Interesting classes though. What about the healer and mage classes? Shaman and Voodoo Priest?
I need to know from you LNfags.
There aren't actually spiders in this are there? If they are I am going to drop this shit now.
>Here are some facts: Unless you are sleeping on the basement floor, a spider might wander onto your bed as often as twice a year.
>you sleep with spiders twice a year
That side is scary.. I might not able to sleep properly anymore
That confused the fuck out of me for a minute. I kep trying to make sense of it, and then I realized it is backwards.
Where do I find the whole story to read?
I've only seen like 4 manga chapters that cover the actual story, and 2 other manga spin-offs.
Indeed, it's sort of a trade-off, you can focus on the powerful mounter combat skills and abandon your on-foot stuff, but when you enter the few dungeons you can't bring your horse you're going to be screwed Unless you have a very specific skill that lets you get a Spider Mount, you can take those anywhere
Or you could spend some points in the On-foot skills so you aren't completely fucked, but at the same time you're not going to be as amazing as you could be.
I was going to change Kannagi to Chaplin but I couldn't think of a good way to differentiate. The majority of the classes work, I could see Swashbuckler changed to be in-line with Australias naval history, Captain James Cook and all that. But that would simply be a name change.
Too much mango
We should put the translated LNs so far in the OP, sorry about that mistake.
someone REALLY needs to go through an edit those things.
At least organize a bit better, but I'm in no mental state for that. ww
I mean I can appreciate the difficulty in the 3 point translation, but my god man... paragraphs.
God damn it, i'm slowly catching up and there's no Vol. 5 up yet in ePUB format.
I guess i'll have to make my own
Yeah, we should work on those paragraphs, and also maybe make the ePUBs. Gonna take a few minutes, but I'll see if I can sort those out, zip on an ePUB and upload, at least up to Volume 5, which is the anime's content. At least, so far it's at... Volume 4, Chapter 1 going to 2, right?
>yfw Germany probably has a whole guild division dedicated to wyvern knights already
Other potential Oceanic classes could be a Digger (what the Aussie soldiers are called). It just seems really weird to say "Hey lets go tribal with the classes" you don't ask the American players if they want to play spear chuckers.
Yeah, but that's mostly what the Australians have going for them, in historical terms.
That, or get a class named Spider Hunter.
But classes don't have to specifically be historical, my god Monk is LUMBERJACK!
>Germany is devided into nordic and western Europe server
You had one job marmalade
Are you from Canada?
They don't have to, but at least seem to, or at the very least very culturally-rooted.
>Antarctica is unclaimed
Can level 90 bodies withstand extreme cold?
Seems like they can withstand some level of cold. I would wager it's possible for Level 90 people to start settlements there, and then years later, with the advent of steam-powered machines to provide heat, even Landers would be able to inhabit those places.
I guess monsters would be the only problem, since demi-humans are everywhere and it's a place devoid of Sunlight for about 6 months.
After re-watching up to episode 16, I can really say Krusty and Rudy are my favorite characters.
And that side ponytails do things to me I didn't even know could be done.
SURELY you don't have improper thoughts about Minori?
I want to cuddle and protect her tender body.
didn't we agree several dozen threads ago to ask the name of Krusty's cat?
Mamare will probably say it is a secret, that, or it's in a later volume as someone's name, causing Krusty a scratch on the back of his mind, as the name means something to him, but he just doesn't know what.
>Replace "Duck" with Elder
Damn son I loved Duck Tales
Who didn't? I mean yeah, some did not, but still, very enjoyable western anime.
What are you doing.
Can someone post the link to the JP raws? It might be worth going through them and re-editing/translating, since the original translations were Japanese --> Chinese --> English fan-translation. And I'm snowed in at the moment with shit-all to do.
>someone is using Nureha.
She was born to be used. What kind of a desperate personality develops an overskill that allows you to turn into anything?
Volumes 1-5 are translations of the actual Chinese releases. Only 6 is a Chinese --> English fan-translation.
But here are the raws for 1-6.
Ugh. Wrote that incorrectly. Volume 6 is the only J > C > E from a Chinese fan translation. The rest were official releases.
Its time again for "Which Horizon would you log?"
The Winner was btw always Akatsuki
The raws for the first six books should be up on nyaa unless I'm mistaken
That's only natural. What kind of humongous faggot doesn't like obedient ninja lolis?
I think only the illustrations are up there.
I was going for Akatsuki but then I read NEET princess.
My boner and I are confused.
its always a race between akatsuki and our neet princess
Only correct choice is everyone
Do I want the obedient loli ninja who will kill my enemies at a heartbeat and always be loyal to me, or do I want the princess with a brave heart and a love for napping who wants nothing but to laze around on bed (if you know what I mean) all day?
Let me say just this: why not both?
God damn it I know but I can only vote to one and I must be faithful too.
>(Pick one or more)
Anon, you don't have to suffer this much. You can pick 2.
But it's... No, it's not cheating, not in the database.
... ... My dream can finally come true. ;_;
We all talked about the horrible Australian server, but what about the African one? I mean, for real, I don't think their cities have walls, or most, and there's a vast continent filled with monsters of all kinds. Raids must be increasingly frequent.
Also, Russia must be having it pretty rough, besides probably having a guild with cute lolis in winter outfits atop huge stone castles.
A man can dream...
>I don't think their cities have walls, or most, and there's a vast continent filled with monsters of all kinds
sounds a lot like RL africa
>there are only a few bedrooms in their castle
>they share body warmth at night because it is so cold in north Russia
It's good to dream Anon. It's good to dream.
Pretty much, except there's demi-humans everywhere. ... Oh.
>Demi-humans can wear weapons and are used to the areas around them
>Some monsters are just regular animals "tainted", like the boars in Japan
>Monstruous lions and the like
>Demi-humans marching into cities mounted on jungle kings
Your narrative fills me with hope, anon.
Let me find the notes I posted about all the guilds last month.
>Amarna Revolutionary Movement was the combat guild of Africa. It was the guild to be in to take part in large scale raids, and was renown for tackling the rare Legion raids across all of Africa. Head members were the son of a local millionaire, children of company heads, celebrities, and other high ranking members of African society.
Said guild pretty much controls the north eastern part of Africa at the moment.
So not that different from reality then.
Still, an interesting social tackle to look at.
I will pretend I did not see that and carry on with my naive life.
What the fuck man?
Spoiler that shit
>Johannesburg is a lawless city with rampant PKing taking place.
>Kartago was the major port for moving between the European and African servers. The stranded Europeans are now working with the Africans to control the Fairy Ring after fighting for months.
Actually there are alot of modern cities in Africa.
is a google image search of the capital city of nigeria.
They have technology in Africa. it's just that the continent is more prone to dictators and other assorted stuff as a result of colonization. They can have makeshift satellite dishes hooked up to old tv's but they wont have food nor will it protect them from a random war..
Absolutely no info on Dakar.
Nor can I remember there being anything memorable in terms of dungeons and raids.
>Johannesburg is a lawless city with rampant PKing taking place.
again, much like RL johannesburg
You're thinking of Lesotho.
south africa isn't much better than "the most pointless country in the world" lesotho
I'm kind of taken back by so much activity in Africa. The economic realities and technological infrastructure are as such that only those in the high middle class and up would find the opportunity to play MMOs with decent internet connections. Mobile phones are aplenty in many major cities on the continent, but good landline internet?
I would have expected Landers to make up the vast majority of Africa's population.
Lethoso is the shades of South Africa. Even brual dictators wont set foot in there.
20 year old game. Even with ancient technology and weak bandwidth it shouldbe able to run.
Also American internet is shit tier to the point that all of Africa having better internet is not only possible but extremely likely. Since ET has to handle shit tier american internet it can surely function elsewhere.
I'm aware, but I thought--and it seems correct--that people would try to conquer most areas/other people instead of trying to set-up trade posts and defense stations. Also, at least the coast was/is war torn. Bratty/spoiled people in leadership positions somewhat scare me for the Landers and other Adventurers.
What if they were sucked in by a mobile version/app-to-check-stats of ET?
>People have lewd thoughts with Minori
American net infrastructure is bad, but lets not get hysterical. At least it's better than sending our data via carrier pigeon.
What exactly am I looking at here? All I can tell is that Log Horizon comes directly before iCarly.
I'm aware, but Minori is too cute for that.
Akatsuki is cute too, but she does things to my log.
I think lewd things about Minori all the time
In fact im doing it right now
STILL DOING IT
OH MAN ALL THESE LEWD THOUGHTS ABOUT MINORI
>Akatsuki in sexy clothes
DON'T MAKE ME SEND THE LEWD THOUGHT POLICE ON YOUR ASS
YOU WILL REGRET IT YOU SON OF A BITCH
YOU CANT STOP ME
THESE LEWD THINGS IN MY HEAD
In fact, I'm going to have lewd thoughts about all the girls of Log Horizon! Lewd thoughts about Isuzuz, lewd thoughts about Serara, lewdness abound!
No! Not Miss Isuzu!!
I CALLED THE AUTHORITIES
YOU'RE SO DONE
It means nothing. That's the TV timetable for the first half of 2014. It doesn't confirm S2 or anything.
LET THEM COME, THEY CAN'T STOP THE LEWDING THAT HAS ALREADY GONE DOWN
Fuck you lander dog, I'm making isuzu my bitch
Vol. 1 to 4 are available in ePUB, but 5th is not.
Akatsuki winning once again.
All is well in the database.
Samurai is the only acceptable class in LH
Solely for the fact they aren't screaming cringeworthy engrish attack names
Would you violate a cute Lander slut, /a/?
everyday with demi human bros.
>new suit of armour
You know all of his equipment is Phatansmal tier right? And that his axe has the highest damage output in the whole of Elder Tales?
That's not an exaggeration, it is legit the strongest weapon in the game.
>probably paid rl money for all that high tier gear
>still died twice and forgot his cat
>Not knowing that Krusty is simply Gud.
And he still died?
What a scrub.
>Elder Tale has no cash shop
>Crusty chose his name just because there was a Simpson's statue on his desk
>Just hit the keyboard randomly to come up with the name for his guild
>goes on to become the leader of the largest Guild in Japan
>spends 8 hours a day training intensely in end-game dungeons
>has only died twice shortly after the the Apocalypse
>still doesn't care
Crusty is gud
Shiroe practiced for a week on monsters that did 1 damage to his party.
Krusty immediately took his guild to high level monsters to train. If anything only twice is pretty impressive.
>no cash shop
>what are chinese farmers
But there is cash shop. Outfits and stuff. But if you're Korean account then you get more cash shop stuff.
Maybe if Krusty the scrub would have done that he could still remember his cat.
His penis was far too large to fit into those tiny tutorial areas
They just don't want to admit Krusty is the embodiment of Gud in Elder Tale.
Because he just isn't
oh yeah he's gud, gud at /adjustglasses
>Many other people dying to PK or just being scrubs in dungeon runs/hunting grounds
>Krusty seriously trains about 6 to 8 hours a day, ~4h of which are personal, solo training on a very high level dungeon
>Only stops training alone when all his items run out
>Sleeps 4h a day
>Calm, smart, and sharp every day
>Decided to do high-end dungeon runs with his guild to adapt to the new system instead of just shyly going to grounds 40lvls below him like everyone else
>Died twice in high leveled dungeons while testing out his skills and body limits in the now real world
>All this evidence right on your face
>Denying he is Gud all the time
It's like you're blind or something.
No we're not blind, you just need to change your glasses.
Don't worry people who aren't gud have a hard time accepting those who are gud.
Those of us who got even moderately gud understand just how gud crusty is.
Crusty is gud, but Isaac is gudgud
What? He's canonically the most powerful Guardian in Japan.
Crusty ain't the only one with full Phantasmal.
I think it's time for a new thread, bump limit was reached some 30 posts ago.
He is the most powerful one, but he's too violent. Caring sure, in his own way, but Krusty has both skill, mettle, and smarts. He's praised as a great battle strategist, and for a Guardian that's very valuable.
Make a thread and link it here. Would make for some easy hopping.
You're joking right? Krusty has the most powerful weapon in the server, if not the entire game.
Yes, the most powerful weapon. Singular.
Isaac dual wields.
>thinking gear determines if someone is good
I like the way you think scrub.
He doesn't dual wield, he's just perfectly specced for chain combos to such an extent that they're almost endless. His DPS outweighs Crusty's, who is built more for burst damage.
No, but leading nearly a hundred members of his guild to Crete and tackling Daedalus's Labyrinth is far more than Issac's done.
Hell, they were in there for days before they found the item that let's you exit the raid.
>the best horizon has less votes than an unnamed background character
BSK has 183 members.
D.D.D has over 1500.
Both Guilds have done incredible things, and in a battle I'd rather have BSK backing me up against a horde of DDD scrubs.
