The climax was fine, it just had an awful denouement.

The best part of the series is the point where Akko takes over point of view up until they finally get together. That's most of their 2nd year. The biggest crime is that their entire 3rd year through graduation was told in like 2 pages! I understand Morinaga Milk says she's terrible with endings but good lord, give us a little more than that. I at least wanted to see them come out to their friends or family. I kinda wanted to see Sugi-san keep giving them advice until the point when they know she knows. And I was ready for the actual drama of trying to maintain a "taboo" relationship instead of the false drama of misunderstanding piled upon misunderstanding.

At least it had a happy ending!
