Are there any iconic scenes from recent anime that will be remembered in the next decade?
all of it
You know this is true.
in hindsight death note was pretty shitty
are you telling me you don't remember the chip scene?
or the swimming scene?
but that was an adaptation
If anyone actually remembers Madoka by 2020, it'll probably be this scene.
most memorable fight of this century so far
no but i remember when L died
and it was very anti-climatic
fuck that comic
Samefag please. No one will remember this lackluster series in 3 years.
Everyone will remember the best imouto though >>100653797
>No one will remember this lackluster series in 3 years.
Not if Nisio keeps writing and SHAFT keeps milking.
If there's one thing that shouldn't happen, it's this.
But he didn't die.
I'll be fine with it as long as we get Kizu at some point.
Shoe being left all alone on that bench to torture himself by listening to Inori singing.
I'm struggling to think of a specific scene from the actual series, since that's more well-known.
unless they keep making stuff madoka won't be remembered this long
It'll be Homura putting down Madoka in episode ten.
yeah no that was just stupid
If you think that was stupid, you clearly missed something very important.
>If anyone actually remembers Madoka by 2020
2020 is only 6 years away. We have people in this thread mentioning scenes from shows that were made 6 years ago.
People will almost certainly remember Madoka in 6 years.
The problem with "iconic" scenes is that almost all of them come from mainstream stuff which at this point is almost entirely shounen. It's more likely scenes from Naruto are going to be iconic for kids now than anything decent.
For some reason it feels as if 2008 wasn't all that long ago but 2020 is.
naw that was weak this is how you go out when you know this timeline is fucked
>>Galactic sized mechs fighting
>>L and Lite dying
Yup, you missed something very important.
little girls that like it will grow up and realize how crappy it actually is
How shitty is Naruto Kai eventually going to be?
They'll trash all the useless filler, but they'll probably also throw out some decent voice acting and OST for starters.
please don't mention the future
the only thing that awaits is disappointment, death, and more shitty shounen becoming the face of anime for the masses
I watched all of SnK but nothing really stuck out to me as particularly iconic. It was super popular, but I doubt that people will look back 6 years ago and say "remember that one part of Attack on Titan?" Especially not on /a/.
There's so much Naruto that I doubt anyone will remember stuff from a long long time ago. Maybe Narutards will though.
I'm thinking the school swimsuit from outbreak company scene at the very end will be quite memorable depending on how well it goes down in the u.s.
mami and her missing head
juvenile slap stick humor not funny
>being remembered at all
Kyon's monologue in disappearance
I watched that scene with a friend, we both were just saying "what the fuck" for 20 minutes straight.
First day on /a/?
That one maid's monologue from maoyuu maou yuusha. Something about don't be an ant and individualism
And everything in spice and wolf for some reason
this is the only thing i remember vividly about haruhi
and it was amazing
oh man then don't watch this
Honestly probably this.
Not for normalfags though.
That one scene where Trigger saved anime by throwing Ryuuko's ass on your face.
Kyon is the best harem MC
Sadly some of them are from snk
Of all the different genres it covered, I don't think harem was one of them.
Except he's alive.
this was bananaz if you know what i mean
The scene where Stocking ruined Christmas.
You lost me.
The part where guts got off the fucking boat.
ahahah I wish
Will toothbrush porn change the world as we know it?
that vore propaganda from uchouten.
Squealer's Trial comes to mind for some reason.
That scene where Saki comletely and totally crushes that monkey from achiga. Mainly because it won't be until the next decade before we get to it.
Well that's just silly.
WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?
no one post this till now
Are we going to see glorious Ufotable reanimating this scene(with the exact quote of course)?
because calling evangelion recent is a bit of a stretch
Rider vs archer.
>Have you awakened from your dream, King of Conquerors?
i never watched, or played fate stay night but i remember this
...i watched fate prism illya
No, because nowadays the fanbase is so spread and fractured it's impossible to have something be a big deal anymore. /a/ has gotten huge, people use the catalogue to keep circlejerking in their own threads about their shows, any other site is pretty much the same thing with sectors of the userbase turning up to discuss different things.
You don't have the entire first page filled with the same screencap from that ones Geass ep, because a large part of the userbase just doesn't care.
every fucking time
>.i watched fate prism illya
Nah, it wouldn't be the same.
Yes, the best route
Sorry, OP confused me already
Then how about this
>not persisting on being a superhero
Best route is Fate and you know it.
did she died?
That's not episode 3.
Probably some shit from SNK.
Do openings count?
A series doesn't have to start shitstorms to be remembered, it just has to have a sufficiently large following and have one or more extremely distinctive/ridiculous/well made scenes that become well known. There have been a lot of famous shows since Geass that have had a huge following, even if they didn't cause massive shitstorms.
MY JAMBO JET
I don't think it really works if it's an adaptation of a manga, because everyone already knew what was going to happen.
SNK is one of those anime that draws in a million people who have never watched an anime or read a manga, so I wouldn't count it out
None of the scenes were all that outstanding, there were too many "shocking" moments so that few of them were actually memorable.
The OP comes close, but since it was a short lived meme and no one can spam the karaoke I doubt it'll be talked about in the future.
>There have been a lot of famous shows since Geass that have had a huge following, even if they didn't cause massive shitstorms.
That's mostly true, but the difference is the amount of varied content a specific series produces.
It's rather unique is how back then you had some memorable scenes for very different reasons, sometimes in the same episode. There's things to laugh at, cry at or simply cheer for. The shitstorm angle, so to speak, is just one part of the experience.
Wait, what the fuck?
I am pretty sure I watched katanagatari, and that fight was skipped there. I felt trolled but I accepted it.
Where is this sequence from?
Right, because a copy and paste of one of the more iconic scenes of the 1990s is totally original and iconic.
OP probably meant scenes that are akin to that one, but more recent
Can't think of any at all. That's kind of depressing.
>Manga sells millions
>anime sells 55k average
>draws people in
>anime sells 55k average
Pro-tip, the kids who watched SNK in America didn't buy it.
Don't close your player when the ED is still playing, anon.
>the kids who watched SNK in America
They're already anime fans. Except for the /v/ermin, most probably read the manga. Remember, it didn't air on TV here so it's not going to find the most casual of casuals.
Oh, I see now...
Well, I got my just deserts, I guess.
But I didn't lose much in the very end. It was still just a preview, not a full fight.
>so it's not going to find the most casual of casuals
Really because I can type in Watch Attack on Titan online and find one of those shitty streaming sites no problem.
Yes, but you need already be aware of it. It's not going to draw in new fans like that. For that to happen it needs to air on TV. Though it probably will at some point.
Shoko not dying
folded a thousand times
Why couldn't Spike be happy with his friends? ;_;
This will be debated until the end of time...
I hear it's on Netflix now.
breaks after one swing
The funny thing is that they DO show you a really exciting fight with really good animation, it's just that they decided to stick it in the preview instead of the actual episode.
Though honestly the fights aren't interesting without all the wordswordswords that come before them, so I didn't feel like I had missed much.
Op meant remembered in the next decade just like Spike's death scene was memorable in this decade
>No one will remember this lackluster series in 3 years.
>Bake aired 5 years ago
Actually, I think there is one that would qualify.
You mean all tha six people watching that show?
made using a mold
That's not an actual scene from the anime though
Colossal's first appearance is the most iconic thing from SnK, just him peeking over the wall before he destroys it
That and I'm the armored titan, and Bert here is the colossal
What episode was that from? I seriously can't remember the final episodes of CB.
>2020 is only 6 years away
More time has passed since Gurren Lagann aired than the time left until 2020.
code geass didn't get as much spam / meme status as R2, gurren lagann changed everything
jin-roh death scene
Hoping that this will not be forgotten.
But Nagitagate was a far bigger shitstorm.
>Fuck yeah I'm hooked
>WHAT IS GOING ON TRIGGER RUINED THE NEW YEAR
It's on Netflix.
Are you faggot really so retarded that you didn't come up with this yet?
the fuck anime was that from, anyway?
Ozaki's waifu healing
They sure did drag that scene out and used totally original music too...
It's now on Netflix
How has this not been posted?
Have you seen /a/ during the week when that happened?
That gorilla shit was being posting several time every day.
Eren "dieing" at the end of the 5th episode might be considered an iconic scene. I know a lot of anime only fans thought he was actually dead for the next few episodes.
/a/ hates SnK but they can't deny how stupendously popular it is and how many people know this scene.
(largely since it's been on every single fucking ad ever)
So many shit posters who have old-fag superiority syndrome
Say what you will about Death Note's second half, but the last two episodes kicked it into high gear and IMO back to the quality of the first half's best moments.
I really need to give this a rewatch, it's been at least 2 or 3 years.
Currently on episode 11 and I'm finding it boring as fuck so far. Does it get better?
I keep trying to get myself to finish it, but I never do. I dropped it at around ep 20, and everyone says it just gets worse in the second half, so I can't find the motivation to do so.
Based Miyano is the only thing that's made me not drop it for good.
I'd like to say this scene, but I doubt it will be. I'll think of it like that regardless though.
Never forget ;_;
2019 is 5 years away.
noice one m80
Hitler was IRL lelouch, commies ruined it all.
That one bit where the forbidden love kiss happens.
You know the one.
I don't even remember that fight.
Came here to post this. The scene where Mami is devoured is not only very powerfully portrayed but marks a turning point when the show's true colors start to come out. I think this is what will be remembered next decade.
Im surprised no one posted this iconic scene
She's an angel.
She's been dead the whole time.
I'm pretty sure that was indicated from the very first scene. The most surprising thing about Mami dying was how sudden and brutal it was; the show already had established a darker tone before hand, just not as pronounced.
Even if you hadn't known it was Urobutcher beforehand.
This and the scene where Homura mercy killed Madoka just before becoming a magical girl herself.
Really, none of this?
Square edged razors honestly scare the shit out of me.
>Generic idol performing a generic dance
>Iconic in anyway
Is Paprika considered recent? It feels like that whole movie was done for the dream parade scene. It's amazing.
Don't know /a/s opinion on haji me no ippo but that last title defense ippo won was fucking memorable
Best dad ever.
sorry, but what? I haven't heard anything about Lelouch not dying. can someone briefly explain
I can't think of many examples of post-2010 anime that will be talked about in the next decade.
A lot of the examples in the tread are over 5 or 6 years old.
I would like to say that too, but I swear to Christ there were only 20 of us here that were following it at all.
It was. Maybe a better way of putting is that it took that darkness which had been in the background and brought it front and center. From that point forward it dominated the series.
Only single-frame as memorable as "Bang" that comes to mind is Kamina's dying breath
The end of E8.
Could be worse - Haruhi is rated MA in Australia.
When Chamber completed his mission in allowing the pilot to prosper..
You forgot already didn't you...
Do openings count? If yes, I'm pretty certain people will remember pic related for a while.
Which is evidence that Madoka will be remembered in 2020. Right now we still talk about TTGL, Haruhi, Geass, etc.
Simon, Kamina and Yoko scene drilling to the surface to see the sun and the moon simultanously while spinning
I will never forget Chamber ;_;
These probably maybe.
Also, the whale scene from Uchouten Kazoku.
Mami losing her head over the state of things
Little old now but hey. I'm sure as hell gonna remember this for years to come.
People are being faggots.
I don't have the image but just lurk for a while and you will see one of the threads
KYON KUN DENWA
