What anime would you show your parents?
I want to watch DtB with my dad
but neither of us ever have the time
Usagi Drop maybe.
My dad was into 90's anime but he stopped right around when NGE aired so I'd have him watch that.
On a side note, has anyone actually watched anime with their parents, I know it happens.
I watched the Berserk movies with my very christian mother. It wasn't weird, actually
They wouldn't want to watch anything with you OP because you were too shit to think of something yourself and instead made a rec thread
I showed You Are Umasou to my dad and his kids from another mother, they were like 2 and 3.
They all loved it.
Kodomo no Jikan
Master of Martial Hearts
Why would I want to show anime to your parents?
I did watch Code Geass with my dad though
>boku no pico"
/a/ you disappoint me.
Kodomo no Omocha
I watched Dirty Pair with my grandma
I watched Lain with my mother back in the late 90s
My mum saw me watching Nichijou so I transferred the DESS release to her laptop and installed KCP. She said it was cute.
Other than the obvious stuff like Ghibli, I watched Kino's Journey with my parents and I watched Monster with my mom.
Berserk. Manga would be better
If my parents want anime recommendations they can piss off and Google it like the rest.
How was monster with family?
>"boku no pico"
>a post complaining about how no one mentioned "boku no pico"
Boku no Pico
Have watched death note with Dad (He loves it)
Have watched Ergo Proxy with mum and dad as they're both sci fi geeks.
Would watch Sengoku Basara (sp?) with mum as she love samurai warror/dynasty warrior games and has played the SB game.
Would show dad GiTS and Evangelion.
My mom liked it. She didn't fall in love with it like she did with The Wire, but she's looking forward to the HBO adaptation.
I don't understand this either.
my dad watched dubbed green-green on tv
I am not even joking
My dad thoroughly enjoyed Yuru Yuri.
Said it taught him a lot about Japanese culture.
I dunno, Kaiji? It's really moe right?
>"Gee, anon, you spend so much time down here in the basement watching those cartoons. Maybe I should try some to see what the big deal is. What would you recommend?"
>"G-Go away, Mom! If you want anime recs, google it yourself! Can't you see I'm busy fitting in on /a/!"
HAHA. I love the Boku no Pico mem! I saw it on Facebook, so I had to come to this cool and edgy place to experience the hilarity first-hand.
I showed TTGL to my mom recently.
She had fun.
If I was forced to pick one anime to sit down and watch with my parents, I'd choose Usagi Drop.
My dad and I watched Ruroni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, FMA, DBZ, and Pokemon together when I was a kid shit on Toonami. Last year we watched Ixion Saga together when I was visiting him for his birthday. Apart from that he doesn't really watch anime, though he still watches Boomerang for Johnny Bravo and Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Dad is pretty bro-tier though, we still play MMO's together, ever since Runescape and Diablo II.
Boku no pIco seems like a genuinely good pick, would help my parents understand me a lot better
the amount of same-faggotry and attempting to fit in is uncanny.
Probably something with good action. He'd rather watch something flashy, if all the times I've watched movies with him is any indication.
Huh. Kaiba, maybe.
Watched it with my mom, she, we, cried. Also watched Kimi no Todoke with my mom.
Aku no Rotoscope
Wake Up Girls
/a/ is not your blog.
That's cool bro
What's your favourite anime?
My dad and I bro'd the fuck out of Redline.
Make sure read the manga with them too.
Because the anime is a pretty heartwarming story about a guy coming to terms with being a parent, and Rin is cute.
The anime feels like it would appeal to a fairly mainstream audience and could be easily transplanted to a live-action setting. In fact, it has been.
Of course, I'm saying the anime. Not the manga, obviously.
My dad loves Gundam and LoGH, anything space-age with large ships and robots really. He's a big fan of Star Trek and Star Wars.
Mom liked Madoka, but there aren't many good anime subbed in my language.
>implying this isn't a discussion about anime and isn't relevant to the board
>it's "x AM" in the States, where time matters on 4chan
Buzzwords like 'blog' are getting thrown out on /a/ and aren't even close to what an actual blogpost looks like, stop trying to fit in please.
It's better for me to just hide my power level from them, I don't think they'd get that much enjoyment out of anime, and I'm not one to really press my hobbies on them.
Don't worry, he just went on ahead for us.
Have some music to calm your spirit Anon-kun.
Jesus fucking christ you're cancer
Regardless of it not really being a blog thread it's still not welcome
This is a fucking rec thread and you know it
>fit in-fags fitting in and fitting this place into a fitting in fest straight out of fitintown
stop fitting in fitfags
Or I'll make sure my fist fits into your asshole
Anything by Ghibli
I watched Ichigo Mashimaro, Full Metal Panic, My-Hime, Darker than Black, Kino's Journey, Haruhi and some movies with my mom and she more and less liked them all.
Then she suddenly went full /a/non and dropped everything I've since recommended after episode or two. I guess good taste is just something you have to be born with.
Soro no Woto, Everyone needs to see that before they die.
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen probably. Nothing they'd find questionable (fanservice, moe, traps), a good story, and short. Mushi-shi would also be up there.
