Was just wondering if FMA:B would be a good introduction into anime. Trying to get a friend to give in and start watching.
No, that'd be Cream Lemon.
OP here. I would also personally like to know of some anime that is worth watching as my partaking is limited.
Why don't you ask reddit.
Bible Black would be better
at least you're wording a rec thread differently
Thanks for that, but I'm looking for a more action packed anime with a great plot as well. I don't see this person as one to divulge into the reaches of that type.
No. Start with movies and short OVA series.
Cream Lemon has giant robots, supernatural abilities, metahuman abilities and lots of references and parodies of western work.
Fuck you for not showing him a masterpiece.
sorry for that but I really am just looking fro an answer to the first question. The second would just be a bonus.
I will maybe partake myself, but it's not really his style. He's more of a gun shooting, UFC watching, adrenaline junkie person.
thank you for the link. I don't typically browse /a/
Watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
It is the best anime of all time for all time. Because nothing has, or ever will surpass it, you can then be content that you have experienced all the medium has to offer and move on to do something productive with your life.
Darker Than Black has some decent fight scenes, although there's a lot of superpowers thrown into the fight scenes.
Who's he got for Faber vs. Barao?
Short answer: Yes. It's as entry level as it comes.
Now get outta here y'rascal.
Aw shucks, thank you mister.
Fuck if I know
It's good, but too long. Shorter shows or maybe even movies are better for newcomers.
Was this season 2?
OP: yes but its not a safe recommendation for everyone. Many people don't like the episodic shounen formula or the power of friendship theme or how everything turns out fine in the end. Do 1 or 2 episodes and drop it if your friend doesn't feel comfortable with it.
Yes, it's a great introduction to anime.
The Gaidens actually
Just pointing out that people who don't know the episodic shonen formula aren't going to be put off by it, because they don't know it's a cliche.
I bet he would love Maria-sama ga Miteru. It's intense.
The problem with using long ass shows as a gateway to anime is that they won't be able to pick up ongoing shows that are 12-24 episodes and will complain that it's not as long.
very true, perhaps an introduction to those are better suited but it is same both ways. Either one is too long or one is too short.
It has the 7 sins and science. Good way to conjure up food for thought.
yes and no
if he's into the slapstick and tropes of anime, yes
if he's not, then no, and you should try something like sword of the stranger, jin roh, or akira
I feel as if those things are what he might be akin to because of the comedy within.
>not starting with Boku no Pico
