It's been a year and I'm still mad
disappointing endings genral
>nobody cares that you care
Gantz has the single worst ending of any manga ever
Not like anything that led up to that ending was any better. It had been shit for years.
man /v/ and /a/ really do belong together, you guys are perfectly autistic. But I'll bite, why don't you guys like mangafox again, or any manga streaming site?
I care that he cares
What ending was this? Fairy Tale?
My list of disappointing endings:
Goddammit Clamp. The plot twist was cool but completely wasted because there was no character development of anyone at the end. And Zashiki Warashi got shafted.
>Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Nobody understands what happened.
>Eureka Seven AO
Plotholes, asspulls, and stupid shit. The friendzoning was fucking glorious though.
Lurk more, faggot.
Lower image quality, delayed upload times, ads, having to load each individual page, having to browse image in an internet browser compared to actual image browsers specialized for comics and manga.
There probably are more reasons, but I can only think of those at the moment.
Also, don't bring up /v/ in a discussion that has nothing to do with it. If you want to talk about that board, go there.
I don't know which is more disappointing...the disappointing ending to the disappointing anime...or the manga end.
Besides having new comrades....Tsuna was almost exactly the same character he was in Chapter 1..almost no development.
Fuck forget the biggest one.
>Mahou Sensei Negima
DAMN YOU AKAMATSU
Mangafox compresses images and reduces image quality to the point where pages are hideously ugly and completely unreadable in some cases. And it's full of virus-packed ads Adblock Plus helps.
Batoto doesn't compress images at all, and you can see them in full size.
Fairy tail is still ongoing, OP pic is cage of eden. Was tsubasa chronicles that bad? A friend of mine recommended it to me the other day
Blame Kodansha for Negima, not Ken.
For fuck's sake, stop typing like a 14 year old girl.
Yeah I use adblock, coupled with avast, it's saved me from the virus', some of the image qualities aren't that noticeable. The only major reason I use it is for the bookmarking system. It's so convenient to see all of your ongoing updated series listed on one page. And I don't feel like setting them up again on another site.
You could do the same thing with MangaTraders.
Anyone else disappointed by the ending of Rookies?
I mean, it was fucking awesome in the way it was presented, especially with the credits rolling across individual page frames. But I really wanted to see Nikogaku play their Koushien and how they managed to get there. And Kawato was kind of left hanging in both growth and love.
Or updates. Seriously, there's no way to justify the shitty online readers.
>14 year old girl
You do know that ellipses are a standard writing tool used in many novels and textbooks, right?
>Thinking /a/ knows anything about proper writing technique
Sure, and four ellipses within two sentences is a standard writing tool of retards. Commas or periods would have served them better.
You could do the same thing with Mangatraders and Batoto. And they're much better because Batoto doesn't compress images and is pretty virus proof while Mangatraders lets you download chapters.
Tsubasa Chronicles started off very strong, and the individual story arcs were all fairly enjoyable up until the very last one. That last one, the climax of the story, is full of plot holes, bullshit plot twists, and several incomplete chapters where things happen without being shown or even set up in prior chapters. There are just a lot of things missing in it, and it didn't help that the chapters were really inconsistently released back then, with months between chapters.
The very last chapter is also rather dumb.
I also know nobody should use them as much as you do.
Waga na wa Umishi.
About to embark on the most dangerous salvage mission, scanlations just stop.
Oh, Cage of Eden. Wasn't it something like the entire time travel thing was left unexplained?
I feel like there's more to your anger than my use of ellipses.
Would you like to talk about it, anon?
Not just that
>the giant bird
>how the ending was possible
>who was hades
>where arita ran off too
way too many unanswered questions
>way too many unanswered questions
thats what usually happens when you are told your manga is going to be cancelled in one month so you have to wrap it the fuck up in 3 chapters.
I'm surprised by this, the series had its slow moments sure, but it had a fairly large fanbase.
I recently finished Fujimura-kun Mates because I love D-Frag and there is always that one anon who insists that Fujimura-kun Mates is the better gag manta. I admit it was a fun read, but holy mother of fuck, the edming was absolutely awful. It was entirely too abrupt and anticlimactic. One chapter is the usual antics and then the next one is however far into the future and the situation is miraculously the same. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I could even give it higher than a 6\10 if I was asked to rate it.
I just read the last chapter, wow. Invalidating the entire story in one chapter, that takes a supreme level of talent.
Shinmai Fukei Kiruko was cancelled in a month, and it had a kickass ending.
>Please spare me villain! I can be villainous and selfish and serve you!
>Haha, jokes on you, I'm betraying you for Kiruko-san just like a villain would!
It's a shame beyond words, it had one of the more promising plots I'd seen in awhile and it ended like it did.
20th Century Boys.
And I still say it's in my top 5 favorites. 21st does help a lot but still could of ended a lot better.
>refollowing over 100 mangas
I can't do it, you can call me a streamfag, but it's not worth the labor to not look like a pleb to strangers.
Disappointing ending? Yeah, sure. School Rumble's ending is now and forever the worst. Years later and I'm still disappointed and saddened.
Rereading the 1st chapter again then going to read the last is jarring to say the least
>Hey boy we'll strengthen your heart but after a year we'll give your sister loadsamone and we'll eat it
>Nah we never really wanted to eat it anyway, who cares about becoming the strongest oni anyway
ichigo 100%. just pure rage for me.
Mx0. Still my favorite protagonist ever.
They never did reveal who that guy was in beginning either. Speaking of the first chapter, that shit was crazy when the tsundere got possessed and started stripping for him. I had to take a minute, to determine whether that was a dream sequence or not.
People should say Double Hands. Though the manga was shitty anyway, the ending was pretty shit.
Aw man, it ended badly? I dropped it when they tried to save death the kid, but if it ends badly then what's the point in picking it back up?
It's really easy. Really fucking easy.
>following 100 mangas
Damn you Moot for disabling inline greentext
It was pretty meh and didn't really tie up that many loose ends. It would worked better as an epilogue to a proper ending. I've read/seen worse endings though.
Speaking of eating hearts...
Baketeriya was disappointing. It felt incredibly rushed, and all the Japanese monsters never got the development they deserved.
And, also done by Japanzai, Gankon ended really abruptly too.
Beats the anime's end, at least?
>What was in the egg?
>You'll never know
>They never got together
0/1000000 I am so fucking mad holy shit
I think the manga added too many characters who were in love with the MC. Once the amnesia arc started I assumed he wasn't gonna die in the end, but I figured they'd just give him a heart transplant and still eat the heart.
This is why following manga sucks sometimes, they are so prone to ending abruptly, and the endings for those cut short are weak and unfulfilling for the most part.
You sure about that
Yeah I now it's easy, but tedious, also the way mangafox, shut up autists is set up, you can label them as (reading, complete, on hold, and plan to read). So when I say 100 mangas, it's more like 10 actively being read, 25 completed and 65 on the backburner. I can't argue with the lack of virus, upload speed and quality, but damnit if managing your stuff isn't neat.
they fugged..so that's something
did they ever reveal if chrona had a penis or not?
Usagi Drop. What. The. Fuck.
I never bother with a backburner.
If a manga doesn't hook me instantly and make me want to read it, it's not worth following. The only times I follow manga that isn't being actively updated is when a series I'm following loses its scanlator, like Wa Ga Na Wa Umishi and Chrome Shelled Regios: Missing Mail.
holy shit I thought I was the only guy on this site who read that crap. I agree none of the monsters made any development, and the plot overall was a trainwreck. Hell they didn't even show whether he gets the rich bitch or the glutton. But I think the worst part was when the series actually had the chance to have a plot (when he was cursed with petrification and had a year to live), the author skipped all of it and swept it under the rug by the next chapter.
I'd almost wiped that from my memory.
Dammit, that fucking ending. Can we just assume that the actual Usagi Drops ended with the last child chapter and the rest of it was some other series with different characters?
Fuck, I'm still mad.
What the fuck.
Wrong thread, buddy
He was only up to three love interests by the end of it. The brown girl would have been the best if she had had time to develop a personality.
I also agree on the trouble of following manga, I've read so many series that have gotten dropped, axed and ended poorly.
You sure about that?
What? He totally ended up with the blonde tsundere. Since Zashiki became a spirit again and he couldn't interact with her any more despite being half-mono. They could've at least had the math girl show up again and leave him in a love triangle at the very end or something.
But yeah, that whole "year to capture" was such a fucking bait and switch. There were only four chapters after that, if I recall. Such fucking nonsense.
The only thing Japan could do to possibly make me forgive them for this would be to perfect Japanese->English robotics translations so I can drown my sorrows in their ridiculous amount of porn.
aw, now I don't know whether I find him/her attractive or not
not that anybody else on 4chan cares
Rena, Senna, Zombie Chick, Rich Girl, Witch Oni, pretty much every chick that wasn't his sister wanted his D by the end man.
>Getting canceled literally 1 chapter away from a conclusion
Seriously, look at this shit
Chrona turns the moon into a giant boob. Clearly male.
It's the author's fault for not being able to wrap it up one chapter sooner.
Oh yeah that's right, sorry that manga was so bland I'd almost completely forgotten about it. Oh god that rushed ending plot out of nowhere.
Would people agree with me that SHaman King had a disappointing end?
There was so much potential. And it just kind of wasted it. They spent so many chapters on flashbacks and that creepy Father without really explaining anything.
I'd say it's got a mediocre story, even. Not very entertaining for the majority of it. Best character was Chocolove though.
I like to keep tabs on the ones I've come across that seemed interesting but I never took the time to read.
Are you doing this on purpose?
What I don't get is why people opt for an online reader that watermarks their shit and don't support the scanlators, it means less scanlations for the manga they read if the scanlators go under and you deal with lower quality shit.
This of it like this, I had to read the last like 50 chapters at least 8 times to figure out who the hell was who and what the hell was going on. Way too many plot holes and bad plot explanation. The beginning was cool though
I question Rena's love for him
the loli? I don't remember her liking him
I was pretty involved in the series, and then the author decided lol you figure it out.
Nigga there isn't even enough to base a conclusion on. Still mad.
The potential came and went, I lost faith after the creepy father moment. If they'd made it more of a "stop and rehabilitate the demons" sort of manga it could have worked. I mean hell the mc stopped a massive forest fire and got an adorable fire loli that revered him as a father out of it. If they'd gone more along those line, it would have been alright.
She was in love with him longer then everyone else. Its just Senna got so much of the spotlight its understated. Rena never really even seemed to care about the heart outside of the 1st chapter, and until Senna "confessed" was the only one who was Genuinely interested in him.
And the loli came to like him as the manga went on. She knew she had no chance compared to everyone else though.
I've just come to accept that the gooks just can't figure out how to end a story correctly. I guess their train of thought is something like "Well, if I leave it open to interpretation then there won't be any backlash and I'll please everyone." Well no, just fucking no. How can any author of anything do this. Have some fucking respect for your own artistic vision and end it. Bad end > open end/no end.
Girls breastfeed too
Seriously this thread had stayed on topic for so long, way to ruin it. I found the site before I found 4chan and at this point the number of series I'm keeping up with on there are difficult to bookmark on another site.
My understanding is Joshiraku just stopped abruptly in midchapter.
At least it wasn't a TWEEST like Kumeta's other stuff, but pretty crappy.
I dropped that when the scanlations stopped coming out. Last I read the white haired detective stabbed the loli's father so she wouldn't become evil. But oh god, let that be a gag panel, who the hell leaves the reader to sort out an entire series of convoluted plot lines? I couldn't even begin to think about what was going through the white haired guys head.
rip in pieces
That's the problem with unemotional girls, you can never tell what their thinking and I honestly think the loli had a passive admiration for him. It was a 4 girl harem tops
true, some have descent endings though
>OMK, kind of
But it wasn't supposed to be a harem anyway. They made it seem like all the hopes of the Oni as a race were riding on which one of them ate the heart, and they just threw it away because loliloveahuman? Pretty sure it was mention before it became haremshit that that was punishable by death if anyone else found out.
yeah, kinda wish one of them had eaten his heart or hell at least have the heart boost his strength a little, he was living off a demon heart after all. Anything to stop looking like a damsel in distress
Thats what bothered me the most about the ending, it was stated many times that his heart would attract demons that want to consume the heart, yet none of that was touched on in the last chapter anyway? Come on, at least tie up one loose end, lol.
I still have yet to hear a comprehensible explanation to how Biomega ended. It went off the rails over a shark through a flaming hoop halfway through but it still could have had an ending that made a lick sense.
I've heard some confusion about how Blame! ended but at least that was more or less par for the course, and there was more than enough information to infer what happened.
I dont remember the name of it but the one shinigami manga where the author wrote himself into a corner and told the viewers to figure it out. Shit passed me off so much
Haha nope, that was the last page for the manga.
I was actually really looking forward to the conclusion.
My bad must have scrolled past that.
Wow, screw the rest of the series in here, that ones the worst and below that is onihime vs in my book. Glad I got upset here rather than picking it up and finding it out for myself
That really is the worst fucking ending possible.
I wonder how many mangaka just come up with a manga concept, don't have any idea for an ending, and just write generic stories after a short while because they want to keep the money train flowing.
Just saw one in another thread, ane doki, the series was good and the ending was okay, but it just wasn't satisfying
I wouldn't say absolutely. It simply threw an ending that in your face. It definitely could have gone better. But fuck it, harem end.
