> mfw people hating on 3.0's dub don't realize that it's the first time in the history of the Eva franchise that someone has actually pronounced "Longinus" correctly
Is that supposed to make up for everything else
It's a start.
Hey if we're making controversial claims, I like dub shinji more, dude actually sounds like a boy just hitting puberty instead offucking 6 year old.
also the dub script >>> official subs
That's something I sort of agree with and have for years
Dat ass. Seriuosly, I want to rape Shinji.
Shinji is cute.
Does Shinji classify as moe?
all the budget was used on kaworu's and asuka's hair
Kaworu, Misato, Fuyutski, and Ritsuko were the only good dub'd voices in 3.0.
Some of the translations needed more work and sounded flat, but there were many other which they actually improved upon in the english version. The entire dogma conversation between Shinji and Kaworu is more believable. Shinji actually gets agitated and starts yelling at Kaworu, telling him to "snap out of it". Makes the decision to lock him out of the control system much more believable, at this point it is clear Shinji though Kaworu was being delusional about the whole situation, making him take control. Also, the fact that Shinji DID lock Kaworu out of the control is more heavily implied when Shinji says "I'm doing this for you Kaworu, I'm doing this for everyone".
All in all, it was still a pretty mediocre dub work. Believe it or not, 1.0 and 2.0's dub quality was much better.
If only the dub was the problem.
> Also, the fact that Shinji DID lock Kaworu out of the control is more heavily implied when Shinji says "I'm doing this for you Kaworu, I'm doing this for everyone".
Doesn't mean shit. They translate it liberally not giving a single fuck about what implications things might have.
Why yes, yes he does.
Where can I watch the dub? No way I'm paying money for that POS movie.
Right now, only by paying $10 or so to see it in a theater. Honestly it's worth seeing on a big screen for the animation alone.
Everytime I hear the dub Misato's voice I get horny
>That was a grown-up kiss.. we'll do the rest when you come back, okay?
> The hallucinatory feet-only sex scene in EoE
> she SQUEALS
I get that Kotono Mitsuishi is a Big Fucking Deal and all, but to me Allison Keith will always be Misato
Her voice actor is a school teacher.
You talk as if that's supposed to make my penis go limp.
When, it fact, it only makes it harder.
I was trying to help your penis.
as someone who watched it dubbed and thought it was decent and can't be bothered to switch to original VA's, what the fuck happened with this guy in EoE. His original VA was fine.
just like ur mum
Haven't watched the dub, and don't intend to, so what's the "correct" pronunciation of Longinus, because i've been wondering that recently
I dare everyone in this thread to search for the "Congratulations" scene latin-spanish dub and not laugh at Penpen.
funnily enough, I've already done that today
Link for the lazy.
Lon-GIE-nus (hard "I", soft "g")
Jesus Christ, that was beautiful
You win this round
Somebody got paid for that
Original voice actor was one of the co-founders of ADV, the company that licensed the TV series. The movies were licensed by Manga Entertainment, so he refused to work for them and instead they just tossed in a producer from their company who couldn't act. At all.
Did the same go for Fuyutsuki?
Because in the movie he was... well..
> yfw Misato's voice actor is a fat Texan soccer mom
(Albeit by all accounts super nice)
>Yfw Asuka's english VA is her own waifu
Why did they get all the old voices BESIDES rei?
No, he was just some guy who'd never been in anything before and as far as I can tell was never in anything again.
Same goes for Maya actually, but most people agree she was actually an improvement over the previous VA.
> "Shinji... Unit 02 is... Asuka is... oh GOD... Asuka...!!"
To be honest I'd kill to have some of that merchandise .
I still wonder if she's read Re-Take.
AWL was semi-retired from voice acting at the time they dubbed 1.0, because she was taking care of her son who was born with leukemia. She was asked to return but couldn't reach an agreement with Funimation.
Still better off than the original voices for Gendo, Ritsuko and Kaji, though, who were never even asked.
She's Askuka's biggest fan, she's even friends with her Japanese VA. I'm pretty sure she read anything with her in it.
Well, you can't have her look LIKE Misato.. that'd be too convenient.
nobody cares about your dead faggot language nerd. 3.0 is still shit even if it's correctly pronounced shit.
For all we know she wrote Re-Take.
This will either make your day or ruin it.
oh god what the fuck
it does fit that that kind of woman becomes a voice actor though
she looks like she's never seen the inside of a hairdresser
Am I the only one who thinks he sounded black in EoE?
Yeah, I just needed the thumbnail. Hm.
Dub Shinji's voice actor also knows where it's at.
That opening is why I don't let people know I like anime. That said Misato's VA looks exactly like I thought she would.
>was Rei like my mom... or a clone.
Well that was pretty funny
Didn't Kaji's VA go off and become a Broadway actor or something? I thought that was why he couldn't do it.
I know the new one is more in line with the original voice, but I really liked Krohn's interpretation of the character. Watching him give Misato shit was so much fun with that voice of his.
Not at all. He sounded black as hell, and it's insanely distracting/hilarious.
The dude who voiced him is an obese black guy.
Dear god, I could masturbate to that voice alone and let's face it, I'm going to need to.
Yeah something like that.
And yeah, I loved his flamboyantly suave interpretation of Kaji. He doesn't come off as gruff and terse as Koichi Yamadera but he could still get serious when he needed to. In a way it actually kinda highlighted the contrast between Kaji'd playboy smooth playboy public persona and his more serious "real" self.
J Michael Tatum is a standup guy but I've never really liked him in anything I've ever heard him in.
At least he has good taste in fantasy-themed TV dramas and handheld strategy RPGs.
>mfw 3.0 isn't in any theaters in my state
It's actually a pretty great and informative video. She talks about what small-time voice actors have to do to "hit it big" in the industry (and how she came close to doing it but ended up taking a different path) and at the end she shares some pretty funny stories about randomly running into Eva fans in her day-to-day life who recognized her by her voice.
You claiming to be any prettier, boy?
Man, Texas and California have a bunch of theaters.
But the thought of it being in Texas in the first place is amusing.
Imagine some Cowboy-type going in with a friend not knowing what to expect.
>Nearest showing in only 2 hours away.
>No buses in the Midwest and I can't drive.
>Less than two hours away
>I could easily take a bus or drive myself
>But I won't.
>nearest theater is minimum 5 hours away driving through the most boring desert in the country
>still considered going
>Game of Thrones.
people didn't say Lon-ji-nus anyway?
The Japanese and previous dubs mispronounced the "i" and put the stress on the wrong syllable
I dunno, I think his Okabe was just as good as the Japanese version, and he was even better than the original Lawrence in Spice & Wolf.
And he was Sir Hammerlock in Borderlands, if you played that.
It's the Madoka of The Wire.
Kojima, pls don't hurt Paz in GZ. She a good, pure-hearted little girl deep down and I don't want her to suffer. At the very least, please let her suffering be quick and let her death have meaning.
Love, Paz's husbando.
> It's the Madoka of The Wire
New People showed it subbed, feels good bein a califag
Giving a shit when it's not your turn to give a shit homura.
KYOKO COMIN' Y'ALL
A magical girl's got to have a code
>mfw people complain about the dub when they should be complaining that the movie was absolute shit
> It's the Eva of The Sopranos
Misato and Ritsuko I agree. They were really good in the dub and I'm a sub only person. I had a problem telling Fuyutsuki and Gendo apart in scenes where they both talked which was a poor decision on Funimation's part. I don't know if anyone else thought the same. Kaworu wasn't great and his interactions with Shinji sounded robotic.
Also the people in the theater were absolutely horrendous. I would bet that they are legitimately autistic. They looked horrible too. It was one of my worst movie going experiences ever. And the worst part is those retards actually browse 4chan since they made mention of it. Now I know just who is making stupid comments here.
Not for nothin' S, but you mustn't run away, you know what I'm sayin'?
