>OP is longer than 1:30
>OP+ED is longer than the show itself
Which show has the longest openings? I hear One Piece ranks up high there.
>There is no OP
Well I sure hope, otherwise it'd be too bad for you my man.
>they replace the godly OP1 with a trash OP2
At least they had a reprise of the first OP at the end.
>random guitar solo
>Using Carlos for this shit
The japanese DBZ OPs were pretty long if i remember correctly.
I wonder how many people do this but haven't watched Mahougakoubus.
I don't mind OPs that are longer if they're good enough.
Which they rarely are.
>same melody with different lyrics
>Protagonist runs to the edge of a cliff to stop and gaze joyously into the abyss.
>the full version of the OP is shit
>the intro is always extended horribly and a shitty solo thrown in in the middle part
I guess you just can't expect much from animu song writers.
>ED is shorter than 0:30
Fucking Double J.
>MC talks with dog
Hozuki has a long ass intro. It caught me off guard the first time, but now I love it.
One Piece has the crown. Any other recent show that has a long op?
>Anime have scenes other than preview after the ED
What the fuck I just want to press next episode to find that I missed something crucial
>in the OP someones tears are wiped away by the wind and the tears glimmer
>S2 has an inferior OP
>S1 OP for the second to last episode
>the short version is actually better than the long version of the song
Fucking Death Note.
That second opening is near god tier but by god is it completely fucking shit.
>The villain dies after the ED so you think the story ended on a cliffhanger
>Spoilers in OP and ED
>Steins Gate 22
>OP Is shitty screamo noise
I'm looking at you nobunagun
>ED is different every episode
>Last OP of the season has added sound effects.
C-Code Geass' 2nd opening... total, utter shit
I don't like the vocals too much but the guitar reminds me of djent so I can't hate it.
>Every girl gets their own ED
>Every girl gets their own variant of the ED, MC has the original
Dammit Nichijou, your OP's are wonderful but they just keep fucking going.
>only ED music plays at the end of the last episode while showing the characters giving the story a closure
>not skipping Openings after watching it three times.
What did that episode do?
>ED plays during final battle
The only OP's I almost always watched were Attack on Titan OP1 and Psycho-Pass OP2.
I love this.
Well very memorable openings are insanely hard to stop.
The only one I watched every single time was the Opening of Outlaw Star.
Kaiji OP 2.
Relevant OP and ED is best OP and ED.
I think it was Project ARMs I watched a while ago and noticed that one of the final scenes in the series was foreshadowed in the first OP, 30 odd episodes earlier.
>not just checking /a/ on your second monitor when OPs are playing
>get spoiled the episode you just started watching
Get a load of this faggot.
Unless they are unbearably bad.
>the episode title itself is spoiler
it's best when OP and ED are extremely short (about 5 seconds each).
that's not 'noise'.
SONO CHI NO SADAME
>Death of the Guyver
If you skip the OPs and EDs the time saved adds up to more than an entire episode of the anime.
>OP and/or ED tie into the episode either through a direct transition or by playing the song during a climactic scene
All of my boners.
I just remember them so I don't bother to keep watching/listening to them.
My rules for Openings are this.
>Shit OP Immediately skip
>Okay OP Watch once and skip afterwards
>Decent OP Watch two or three times if pretty decent and skip
>Great memorable OP Watch until I either get bored of it or watch them until the end
>Godtier OP Never skip unless bored
Hell, I know a guy who just watches his anime 1.5x speed because he gets bored watching anime, which makes no fucking sense.
>protagonists are captured
>"We'll be back to kill you in a moment, even though we can just do it now."
Heavy spoilers in the next episode preview.
I hate this.
This isn't /tv/ or a Bond riff.
>Vidya adaptation begins with the anime OP in 3D
>watching previews at all
>Every short anime ever
What's the fucking point?
>events shown in the next episode preview never happen
>Show never ends
>Hell, I know a guy who just watches his anime 1.5x speed because he gets bored watching anime, which makes no fucking sense.
>don't like watching previews because of spoilers
>sometimes there is some more shit going on after the ED so you are forced to keep watching or miss out
>you get spoiled anyway
>listen to it every time because my autism demands it
>start to love it
Fucking dammit Denpa Onna
>Hell, I know a guy who just watches his anime 1.5x speed because he gets bored watching anime, which makes no fucking sense.
Any time I see someone say something like that here I get sad. Not because they're idiots, but because these are the people arguing with shows about me pretending like they paid attention and the show did something wrong as opposed to them just being an idiot.
>OST is made by KOKIA and Yuki Kajiura
I can dream...
>OP starts during the episode
>The show has 2 EDs
Aiura had an awsome OP. KANI KANI KANI...NANI NANI NANI..
oh dam'n, my bad, meant to write ED instead of OP
The nobunagun op sounds more like BMTH if I'm honest.
has KOKIA ever done a soundtrack?
Indeed. Curretly I just can't stop listening to Mawaru Penguindrum's OP & ED every fucking episode. It's an addiction.
I'm watching Denpa Onna right now and same thing happen to me.
>He gets bored watching anime
What the fuck is he doing with his life? Although I can see where he is coming from, maybe he does not like to drop stuff.I tend to pick up a lot of airing shit and not drop things. I'm watching like 17-20 shows this season.
She's done some awesome ones for the Ar Tonelico series as well.
see for yourself
Jinrui's OP was catchy as fuck though.
>You are as much the author of the show as its original creator, as the nature of fiction is that it subject to any number of interpretations based on the viewer's own life experience and personal biases.
>Therefore, the show takes on a life of its own inside the mind of each and every viewer, and none can say that any other individual's personal truth is less valid than their own.
>Furthermore, one's interpretation of the show will likely change as they age, learn new things, and have new experiences.
>As such, the show only truly ends when all those who have seen it, are seeing it, or ever will see it have passed away.
That's deep, man.
This should have been the opening
Same here, that high-pitched voice grows on you. God I even downloaded that fucking song.
>They are removed from the OP
Unfortunately not the entire soundtrack.
>aww yah this show is awesome
>close window, leave, still havent watched an episode since
>They are added into the OP
>show centred around music
>expect them to play it in the season finale
>it never comes
God dammit K-On, even Symphogear got this right.
That song is fucking awful.
>OP is shorter than 1:00
>Next episode: Important person dies!
>game's ending is the ED
What shows do this? Gurren Lagann took like 2 episodes to remove Kamina but he was still there in a few shots if I remember correctly.
>Kabuto Kouji will never die!
>Kabuto Kouji dies in lava!
>Azusa just hamfisted into the K-ON OP's
Toward the Terra's OP is pretty bullshit.
Luckily i only ever listened to it while alt tabbed and never actually watched it, so i didn't get spoiled.
>Wacthing the OP/ED
It's like you guys don't want to efficiently watch anime.
>Next episode : SERVISU SERVISU SERVISU
Gatchaman Crowds did this but with the costumes when they were introduced.
I have so much free time that it doesn't matter.
Glory to NEETism.
>not wanting that emotional attachment to the song in case they play it during the final episode
>Yamucha Dies! The Terror of the Saibaimen
>MCs are running in the opening
>close up on their hand held up to the sky as it clenches into a fist
OP memes anyone
Don't even do that again.
>watching new series
>"ITS ONLY HALF WAY THROUGH THE EPISODE?"
>watch the rest anyway
It had extra long EDs though, so I guess it balances out.
I watched the opening of Ashita no Joe even 2-3 times a row before watching the episode.
>Not beeing sure if I watched the anime for the actual anime or the opening
>Only certain episodes do this
>Hvae to go back and rewatch the end of every single episode to make sure nothing else was missed
Fuck you higurashi, Caves just don't disappear like that.
>Sound effects added to OP are louder than the music.
>2nd OP is superior to the first
IT'S ALL RIGHT DAIJOUBU DAIJOUBU DAIJOUBU
Platinum is better
To the beginning > Oath Sign
Lisa a shit
At least both of R2's OPs were pretty good
>50 episode long show
>Each one is progressively worse than the last, until...
>The 4th OP blows the rest out of the water
Name that show /a/
>every OP/ED is good
Well fuck me sideways, that's a first.
>At the end of the ED
>Message left saying "please watch next week"
>sound effects in the OP at all
>OP recycles show footage instead of having original animation
>that one metal clink noise that's used in every Source game
It always bothers me when I hear that anywhere else.
>that same fucking cicada noise in EVERY SINGLE ANIME EVER
>There is no OP, shit's going down
>OP starts mid-episode
Head-Cha-La and We Gotta Power were 1:50 each. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
to be fair all cicadas sound the same
>OP plays at the end
>OP recycles show footage from the first season.
I usually only pick up like 5 or 6 shows that catch my attention immediately and put anything else I hear is pretty good in my backlog at the end of the season.
TTGL has 3 OPs, one from the beginning to ep8ish, then one from then until the timeskip, then one for the rest of the show.
>start to browse /a/
>go back to watching
>never notice if it has any slight difference in length
>OP2 heavily reuses animation from OP1
>The song is worse
God fucking dammit Sunrise.
>implying Inferno cop finale wasn't based
>OP never changes
Pretty sure Nobunagun pulled this shit.
I'm really liking Nobunagun so far, though.
>That one high pitched tone used all the fucking time for sci-fi/magical glowy bullshit
It didn't bug me until I watched GaoGaiGar, then I just started hearing it EVERYWHERE
This sound right here, when the gem slides into place
After 112 episodes, I'm finally starting to come to terms with it.
There is no greater terror than this
>not respecting the dead man
>OP has little to nothing to do with the actual show or is totally unfitting for the tone of the show
>It's still a damn good song anyways
>show has two different ED, seemingly at random
>realize the switch is depending on whether the final scene of the episode was following the male or female protagonist
that's clever as fuck, Shadow Skill. Good job.
One of the FMA's?
>Hell, I know a guy who just watches his anime 1.5x speed because he gets bored watching anime
I'm not gonna make it if I keep getting reminded there are people like this in the world.
>Lyrics easily decipherable
>Instruments still noticeable
Despite being a homolord that listens to J-Core and Drone Ambient you're a faggot.
What? What sound is that?
>OP doesn't change in the first season
>OP still the same in the second season
>OVA released 5 years later has the same OP
nostalgic as fuck thank you Black Lagoon
>the OP is one of the main reason to watch the show
24 Minute file
1:30 of recap
3:30 of OP
0:15 of eyecatch
3:30 of ED
5:0 of static scences with voiceover / Shing sound and replayed scene
Was there even a show in there?
seed destiny got that bad near the end
Don't forget having four recap episodes too.
Are you talking about the CS:S grenade sound?
Muromi-san OP was the shit.
>ED is superior than the OP
Always a present surprise.
>3:30 of OP
>3:30 of ED
You mean 1:30, right?
Goddamn, just looking at this image and the tears start flowing.
>OP, ED and OST too good to drop the otherwise mediocre show
I'm looking at you Space Dandy
Why not just wait for the OST release?
Shit. I remember Bleach recaps having around 10 minutes worth of footage from the previous episode. They were always filled with long pauses with characters doing nothing but standing there and staring while the wind effects played in the background.
I think it's more accurately a sound pack, probably a free royalty-free sort of thing. Might be tied to a subscription service, I dunno. Either way, I hear it absolutely everywhere, from anime to primetime American TV to blockbuster movies. It's maddening.
That was in SamFlam?
Are you me? The music is the only thing keeping me from dropping Dandy.
What is Aiura
>Different endings based on characters
I like how it made the Star Wars blaster noise whenever someone jumped in the FS/N TV series.
>The OP makes it look like a high school comedy
>The OP makes it look like a fantasy show
>The OP makes it look like a fun SOL
Yes. It was fucking hilarious.
I wish this got a continuation. It was so fun.
>OP makes you think the EP is going to be great
>ep is filler or boring
The Tower of Druaga
>OP starts as slideshows with good music
>Changes to good animation with good music
It was a few episodes after Killer Kong
The electro-funk sound is so god-tier and it has the best ED of the season.
Well, it has no ED.
But it does have about three minutes of recap + pointless narration. So they could still fit an ED in there if they want.
>OP describes the OP
The episode's title appears at the end.
Penguindrumwas great because of that.
I hate that shit too.
One Piece is the biggest offender right now with its 3 minute openings and then 5-7 minutes of recapping the last episode.
Good thing /a/ made it hilarious.
>ED catches you off-guard with the beautiful, staccato screeching of a Vocaloid from hell.
>great OP 1 replaced by even better OP 2
I watched black rock shooter at 4.5 times speed and I'm glad I did
>That's some pretty great BGM
>Holy shit, that's the ED
That was pretty well done.
A-at least the song part was always good
>spend years searching for full version of OP
>finally find and download it
Fucking Monster, I like the OP but I"m skipping it every time now, I don't need to hear it 74 times.
If Aku no Hana didn't rotoscope I imagine it would of been a lot of /a/s favorites as I hear it had some really good directing and a fantastic OST to match the theme of the show/manga.
and OP 1 of Brotherhood blows it out of the water.
Brotherhood also had some really good OPs.
Allow me to enlighten everyone about this.
That one has the nostalgia factor going for it.
Fuck my completionism making me finish both series.
>I wonder what happens in this exciting episode of Dragonball Zzzzz
>"The end of Vegeta"
>"The death of character"
>OP is hashed together by taking scenes from the actual show itself and throwing music over them
>Staff still haven't completed it
Don't you have some dead parents to avenge, Bruce?
My favorite Brotherhood OP is definitely Golden Time Lover.
Whatever are you talking about, anon?
>terrible rap segment
>OP is great
>Shorter than 1:30
This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
Im one of these guys ;_;
What the fuck are you looking for that would take that long to find?
Your rule about OPs is almost as bad. Just kill yourself already.
>The last OP has no lyrics
>No full version
will roundabout be the ending for part 3 too?
>Fucking rapping ruining what would otherwise be a kickass song.
>Season 6 had a different version of the top tier S1 OP
Holy shit I came the first time I heard that.
>OP has a lot of English lyrics.
When does that happen? Sounds fucking cool
watching some shows at 2x speed is my way of not dropping a show
It doesn't really change anything
Tales of the Abyss, probably.
Major, it was real great.
>op spoils entire series ending
>don't know it spoils the ending until the ending happens
DBZ was the worst for this
you could pretty much gleen the entire story just from the title of the episodes
>The OP seems so random and deep but makes no sense, guess just an intro to all the characters.
>Climax episode reviles all.
>Plays the opening at the end of the show.
What anime does this?
Clannad I believe, but its a VN adaptation.
>DOOM door sounds when a door opens/closes in a scifi
SZS does this. Ending hints to the manga are in the OPs
>Show has six seasons
Anon, that was really bad. You should feel ashamed.
>OP shows characters dressed in clothes they would never wear in the show
>Show has an iconic, and amazing opening.
>Uses it for 200 episodes every season has a >New animation with the boss OP song over it.
>CHANGES THE FUCKING SONG
>Preview shows a fucking awesome scene
>It does not appear on the next episode
>It never appears
>Great OP, never skip it
>Awful ED, can't move on to next episode fast enough
Tatami Galaxy has some fucking insane foreshadowing.
>the show has an OP
I hate them.
Come on Anon, some are really good. What OPs do you even remotely like?
He probably hates them as concept, as the show has less actual content.
ED is completely unrelated to the show.
to be fair, that episode was incredible in its own right
i fuckin hope so
DAICHI WO FUMISHIMETEEEEAAAAAYYY
KIMI WA MEZAMETEIKUUUUUUUUUU
TENSHI NO HOHEMI DEEEEEEAAAAAYYYY
The OP has foreshadowing that's then implemented in the second episode, the ED only has foreshadowing that's in the title already.
Episode 11 and 12 are where most of the foreshadowing from OP comes into play. They also have the costumes and characters in OP, but that's not that important.
The 4.5 tatami room repeat isn't used for a while.
You wish you were living in the database
>OP from the other seasons start playing.
ARIA, I wish I appreciated you more when I first watched.
>cold opening on the last episode of the season/series
>watching the OP or ED more than once
>ED plays out through credits
>ED softly continues in bg as anime comes back in, showing revelations for the next episode
Damn HOTD. More animu needs to do this.
Took me longer than usual to get, but damn.
>OP has characters that have yet to be introduced
on the other hand:
>Live version of the OP brings you to tears every time you hear it
>The best parts of the show are the OP + ED
I'm looking at you, UN-GO
The new Magi opening, fuck.
>Amazing OP1 is replaced with just good OP2
>OP1 gets played during one of the most liked character's last stand
>OP/ED plays in the background as the show plays
>OP plays in the climax of the final battle
>the greatest and most terrible of them all.
That's not 3.0 preview
is hxh any good?
In a rec thread when I asked people for shows like my fav Boku no Pico, they all said it was almost the same plotwise.
did they spoiler me, or troll?
>It's just the TV op, shitty instrumental segment, and then the TV op again
But 3.0 wasn't a let down on acid.
45 minutes of no sharks being maimed IS a letdown.
>Slow long used for an opening of an action mecha show
>Cheaply reused animation from the opening before
God I hate this opening.
I have this on DVD, but I never watched it because I heard it was horrid.
Of course, after marathoning SEED, I *tried* to watch Destiny, but after 18 episodes, bitches ain't shit.
worth the watch? or should my SEED remain untainted?
>GENDO AND FRIENDS HIKING ADVENTURES
>HELL YEAH 3.33 IT'S TIME FOR SOME GENDO HIKING WITH GOATS AND-
>It's a lie
>First couple of episodes have a small prologue by the narrator before the OP
I like that.
Personally, I "enjoyed" SEED until it's final 10 or so episodes then it goes crappy.
Both series are just not very good, and Destiny does a very good job shitting over the few good things left over at the end of SEED. (Everyone who isn't Kira & Lacus is shitted on hard) It's such a poorly and cheaply made sequel, the only good part is the music & OP&EDs. It's just WASTED POTENTIAL which is probably the worst, most rage inducing type of series.
Honestly, if you have nothing better to do, its fun to watch if only for getting to bitch about it on /m/ all the time afterwards. But Sunrise is currently airing a Remaster version of Destiny, so try checking that out if you really want to watch Destiny.
I enjoy laughing about how Kira hijacked the entire series from Shinn and Athrun.
She worked on Strike Suit Zero. Turned out pretty well.
Group runs off a cliff holding hands
WHO WERE THOSE GIRLS
>All of the OPs are being played in the credit
