Not even kidding, I stopped downloading anime years ago and it was the best decision of my life.

Nice troll faggot
Everyone knows notepad++ is the best media player

>>100606385
I second this. Lower quality is a small price to escape the cruel clutches that is a backlog.

never understood what's all the fuzz around VLC.. what's the problem with that? (serious question)

I want to know this too. I've been using VLC for 8 years or so and never had any problems with it whatsoever.

older versions had some problems with animation fluidity when fansub groups did shit job on encoding, new ones don't.

My older single core laptop (mobile Centrino circa 2004 or 05) can't play 720p in VLC (screen tearing, pixelation, out of sync audio), but can with MPC. That being said, for most people, the difference is negligible for the vast majority of users.

I'm probably the only one that uses mpc-hc with autism settings, except I take it a notch up by using potplayer instead.
I also check for a new lavfilters update every week.
I almost never watch animu.

Why the fuck do I keep doing this.

Yeah, pretty much. (I was >>100607211)
For anyone but someone with a single core and a shit graphics chip (both, but not either/or), there's so little difference between MPC and VLC, there's not much point in arguing about it.
For the record the laptop in question is an HP TC4200 with Intel 940GM graphics. Really ancient shit. I also have an HP TC 4400 with a Core 2 and (basically) the same graphics chip that does 1080p with zero fucks given, so for me it came down to cpu, not gpu.

After searching around, installing and using about a dozen different ones, I've found that media player classic is my go to player. Has damn near no bells and whistles, but plays everything I need it to (including .mkv) without half the problems I was getting on other players like VLC and regular Media Player (low color resolution, jumpy, glitchy looking text on anything were the subtitles have to move with and/across the screen instead of just being static at the bottom(which happens a lot in things like "Kill la Kill")).
>>
MPC-HC with KCP for animu and CCCP for anything else.
