/adv/ here, why do you guys hide from the society? What's wrong with being an otaku!!?
I don't hide from society.
I just hate interacting with it.
Have you seen how most mainstream anime fans act? Do you think we want to be associated with that?
I never hide my powerlevels before I became a hikki, I have never cared what people have thought of me so long as I am happy.
You don't need to be a social recluse to enjoy anime
But you do need to to enjoy 4chan
also reported for not anime
Stop treating "society" like it's a single person I am hiding from
The people I talk to a lot know I like anime, I don't feel the need to flaunt it to those I don't
It's not like I'm hiding from society. We just are not acquaintances.
I tend to mix anime and other animation to distance myself. That is to say, talk about non-Japanese/American animation.
Eh? But society is such a bother...
I'm a shut-in, society scares me.
I don't hide my powerlevel, however I am also not in other people's faces about it. If they were to ask, I would tell. Nobody did so far, which is the only reason nobody knows.
>The people I talk to a lot know I like anime, I don't feel the need to flaunt it to those I don't
I don't hide it, I just never advertise it. And just in general, I want as little to do with society as possible.
When the anime phase the west experienced in the 90s and 00s started dying down from about 2006 onwards there emerged a group of hyper annoying weaboos that solidified the stereotype of an anime fan. Nobody wants to associate themselves with these "fans" so they hide it.
Basically this with the whole hide your power level but i mingle with society to avoid general suspicions and to be left alone to do my own things.
