Just did the endless eight challenge.
those are big eyes
The better to see you with
It doesn't compare to watching it when it aired.
It's worse. I watched it without any pausing or breaks. I can only feel rage inside now.
Yeah? You watched it knowing it would end in 8 episodes. We watched it wishing it would end, every week for 8 weeks, and we didn't fucking drop it. You will never know the triumphant feeling of living through those weeks.
This is true. I didn't watch Haruhi when it aired, but even when I marathoned E8 I couldn't imagine what it must have been like for those watching it live--they don't even give you a "next week on [blah show]" preview so you really are left guessing.
Did you remember to thank Kyoani for the privileged or are you just an ungrateful faggot?
it's called endless 8, wouldn't you assume it would take 8 weeks?
You don't know the true pain of endless eight unless if you had to sit through it for 2 months. Especially since for the first 4 episodes we all had the "IT'S ENDING NOW, RIGHT?" mindset.
Not necessarily. The LN chapter was only the last cycle.
Endless Eight is only one little chapter in the Haruhi novels. Do you have any idea how absurd it would seem for Kyoani to actually reanimate and air the same events 8 times?
Do you really have nothing else in your backlog that you'd subject yourself to this?
Do what other anons do and play them all at the same time and try to play spot the difference.
There was a lot of denial. People honestly couldn't believe they would do it even after four weeks.
Every episode was spent thinking, "Is this the one?"
And that glorious moment, that transcendent release when kyon finally grabs that insufferable bitches arm.
I literally jumped up from my chair and screamed "FINALLY" loud enough to wake my roommate.
It was a cathartic experience.
you almost makes me wanna see it.
The original upload was briefly the second most popular video on YouTube back in the day.
Unless you've watched 1 episode per week, then no, your challenge is only half done.
It won't have the same impact. You know it is going to end after eight episodes, it was the most hyped show since forever, there isn't the insane rampant speculation threads. It was mind boggling at the time.
Fuck you, she is not a bitch.
God, you don't know, you don't know.
Now, its just a humorous thing that happened, at the time we were promised a second season, we got a reordering of the original 12 episodes, with 12 new episodes, the gap between the real new episodes and the 8 block was about a month, and we not only waited for the season, we waited for the gap, then we waited each week hoping for the end of the story arc.
Now looking back at it, i love it. not from a weird hipster bullshit reason, not from the bad being good. Not in a way that it was necessary to the plot. But it seems like something that show would do, and I love it for it (remember season 1 was shown out of fucking order, with the intentional shitty episode being first).
I just love it and rewatching it is not that bad.
It's called Endless Eight in the LN, too. It takes place in August. The character for infinity is a sideways 8.They should have taken a fucking hint.
You just want to smell her butt. You can not objectively tell me that Haruhi does not have a bitchy personality.
She does have bitchy personality but that's what makes it fun.
Conceptually it is brilliant, and the quality of animation was great even by Kyoani standards.
But holy fuck those seven weeks were suffering.
I still don't get the "Random Numbers" mystery.
Someone care to elaborate?
I watched it long after it had aired without having heard about Endless 8. I can't even begin to imagine how long those two months must have been since I marathoned it, but I did get a taste of the bewilderment wondering when it was going to end during those 3 hours.
Being this new
That's a privilege op. Not everyone can enjoy such a masterpiece.
to be fair its pretty autismal
What does this have to do with being new?
I just don't get what those numbers Koizumi gave Kyon were supposed to be. BWH?
For me, the shock wasn't that they made eight episodes with the exact same scenes for each. The shock was that they re-animated every single episode, shot-for-shot. That's a lot of fucking money.
I remember reading that some exec suggested making one episode of Endless Eight and portraying it as eight episodes, as an easy way to get the cash for a new season without the work, and the director said "Fuck you" and animated each episode individually as a massive middle finger. Not sure if that's real, but it's damn plausible.
>body weight height
I don't think so
>Implying Koizume wouldn't give Kyon his numbers in an attempt to seduce him.
every week... thought I downloaded the same episode at first... then, every week after that... 8 in a row... same thing.
>People missed out on endless eight with /a/
I pitty you sorry fools.
I still watch the ending of the last one every once in a while. That soundtrack just does it.
Honestly, it bothers me that Koizumi is portrayed as someone who tries to hook up with Haruhi.
It reeks of NTR and it has already influenced H-manga in this regard, seeing as one of the IMHO best Haruhi H-mangas is a Haruhi-Koizumi one in which Kyon is basically NTRed.
When I first watched the series, I was under the impression that he is supposed to go homo for Kyon (/a/ gave me this impression), but I got attempted NTR and awkward melancholy instead.
Fuck Koizumi, why doesn't he have a thing for Asahina?
On other notes, I would've preferred if Kyonko was canon (another impression I got by /a/) and... something else I've forgotten.
But Koizumi supports Kyon and Haruhi, even until the latest novel. He does have a thing for her, but he doesn't play on it, cause he knows it would only serve to confuse her.
