So why do people on /a/ hate Cowboy Bebop? Why the skewed standard on anime?
I would fuck Ein
I finished the anime but I still dont if it is she or male.
Because it became a synonym for people who do.
>recommend me some animes guy's favorite one was Cowboy Bebop
Also /a/ is not one person, so stop asuming that a board has the same opionion on every subject.
>cowboy bebop at his computer.jpg
/a/ is a hivemind.
You should find a place with better standards.
Check your privilege, Zir.
Well, they're not wrong.
Didn't know /a/ hated Bebop.
But if they do, it's probably because it has been seen by more than a 100 filthy gaijin.
It is enjoyable but not great. Not representative of anime as a whole and /a/ gets pissed when people who have watched a total of 5 "animes" cream themselves over Bebop.
Because everyone who isn't new to anime has already seen and discussed it to death ages ago. Rather it's not that people hate it as much as people hate threads about it.
It's not bad, just overrated. Just like Death Note.
>implying /a/ hates Cowboy Bebop
Boy, no wonder my prescription for stupid pills couldn't be filled out. You must have emptied the entire state.
I don't hate it, although i dropped it at episode 8 because for a "mature" show it was going nowhere, and i already knew spike would die at the end and i though it would have some shitty rushed end with a TWEEST.
Probably going to give a chance any other day.
havin a jiggle m8?
Plot holes: The show.
I found it quite enjoyable. Likeable characters and a nice soundtrack. It all falls to shit when the show tries to shoehorn in drama and turn it into a show with an overarching plot instead of keeping it episodic.
The question is that why does /a/ hate anime?
Because it's gay.
because le internet hate machine xD!!!
Because /v/ likes it too.
Anime is for weeaboos and we're too cool for that. Nobody actually watches that kiddy shit, people just come here to complain about it. Just like every other board right?
I thought it was particularly bland with especially bland characters. The episodic episodes get worse as the show goes on. It has some strong episodes, mainly those concerned with Spike's past and Vicious, but it became a chore to watch as it went on.
The reason why /a/ disapproves of it is because it is hyped by the toonami nostalgia goggles crowd from /v/ and /co/ who come here to shitpost. Cowboy Bebop was actually widely praised by /a/ for a very long time, it wasn't until the Toonami revival that /a/ turned against it.
We're all little girls playing untranslated VN's in here.
/a/ doesn't hate Cowboy Bepop but the threads about it since they are filled with autism, newfriends and baits.
Because of faggots like you:
nigglets who have watched 4 shows and come here jizzing their pants about OMG OMG OMG COWBOY BEEBOBOOP.
You're late to the party and you're one of the kinds of people who contribute to the detriment of /a/.
In short: /a/ doesn't hate CB, /a/ hates you casuals and your shitty threads
/a/ hates life itself.
So basically if /v/, /co/, /pol/ and /sp/ like a show /a/ will automatically hate it?
god you people are such purists
/a/ hate anime is false, it's a stupid meme made copying /v/ hate vidya.
We like anime, we just have shit taste and are too busy posting on /a/.
/sp/ likes kyoani and SOL with yuri undertones, just look at the anime images posted there, and we don't hate those shows.
Not at all. Pretty much all of 4chan loves LOGH, especially /v/ and /pol/ and /a/ still likes it. Cowboy Bebop just doesn't have longevity because it's just not very good.
Of course. That's why we all have a dream of turning humanity in a pool of Tang
Not many hate it but feel its just basic and nothing special despite the praise it gets thus giving it the entry level title.
We don't hate anime, /a/ loves it. In fact the only time I really hear people bitching about anime as a whole is when they admit they don't go to /a/ often or just don't watch much anime ('anymore').
We don't hate Cowboy Bebop, other boards only think so because every single fucking Cowboy Bebop thread and discussion is made by retards from other boards who want to start shit, and we all got tired of constantly hearing the same "why don't you elitist moeshittards talk about perfect masterpieces like this" lines or some variation thereof, and never just threads about the show. Certain people do this with lots of old or undiscussed shows, they think starting it with antagonistic bait is a great way to start a thread (like a certain Mushishi thread yesterday), and I always think that maybe they've been spending too much time on /v/.
And really, what are you going to talk about? You can imagedump or do some "favorite episode/song" or something, I guess, but it won't last long.
Elitism used to be pretty important here.
Most of the people from other boards know nothing about anime and can't really deal with a discussion, this leads to shit rec threads or thread like this one.
And anyway, I've yet to see someone from /a/ make a rec thread on /v/ because they finished playing [insert popular game that /v/ hates]
Because 90% of everything is crap.
I don't understand why people don't use google more, half the questions I see on 4chan can answered using it.
Stop following me, tripfag
I think it's a form of attention whoring.
I'm sure only a handful of people on /a/ dislike Cowboy beeboop and the majority likes it. The only reason why you see the hate is because it's usually dumb fucks from other boards(/v/ for example) and sites hail it like it's the second coming of christ.
I'm neutral towards the show but the fucking fanbase it painful. Not suprising considering this show was aimed at teenage girls.
>this show was aimed at teenage girls.
Isn't teenage girls /a/ main group of posters?
No, lolis are.
They like being showered with special attention
90% of rec threads have the OP inevitably devolve into long tirades about how much he hates all us virgin losers and how he demands personalized recommendations for his specialized tastes of 3 toonami shows, that a wiki and google just can't provide.
And the majority of you people can't help but reply to it even while knowing this.
Right, exactly. Welcome to 4chan.
It's easier this way.
>personalized recommendations for his specialized tastes of 3 toonami shows
This is what gets me the most
They could just watch fucking anything
I just report, but the other anons responding to them...I wish I could stop them from posting...
Try to have fun sometime.
>it has been seen by more than a 100 filthy gaijin.
So has Eva, but /a/ still loves it, or at least loves to discuss/shitpost about it.
what about animesuki?
Why is is that every other board thinks /a/'s taste in anime is shit
Because they have shit taste and are trying to justify their shittiness.
Because the other boards don't know shit about anime they arrive at the right conclusion for the wrong reasons. After all /a/ does have shit taste in anime, but they don't understand why that's the case.
>thinking it has to do with wanting "special attention"
Holy shit, does /a/ not know what b8 is?
They even make it obvious in most threads.
>Not suprising considering this show was aimed at teenage girls.
You mean teenage boys.
That's because we do.
I didn't think we hated bebop.
I don't hate it, I'm just disappointed.
I was waiting for a great show with great music, great animation and of course a great plot. I got the music and the animation but no plot whatsoever, ended up dropping it after 9 episodes I think.
I've been here for over five years and it's one of the few shows /a/ thinks is overall objectively good.
It pretty much does though.
I miss those days, when you had problems to decide if CP posts where trolls or the real thing.
It is on /a/ chart of worthwhile anime. /a/ doesn't hate it, /a/ hates the "hurr moeshit killed anime" nostalgiafags and casuals that use it to make troll threads and spout ignorant garbage about the anime industry.
I wouldn't dislike the nostalgiafags if it wasn't for the fact I see more ignorance than real nostalgia.
I agree. As someone that has been watching anime since the days of mail-order fansubs, it really pains me to know some of those people should know how old anime really was. All the "moe" and fanservice was around just as much back then, if not more so, but they just seem to sweep that under the rug and act like they were tough guys that didn't watch or notice any of that.
