Was this show worth a shit?
Looks like a Evangelion rip-off.
Watch it in reverse and it's about a boy deciding that his grandpa was right about him working as a mechanic his whole life.
I bet you thought Gasaragi was an Evangelion rip-off
I watched the first 3 episodes and wasn't interested but that girl in your pic looks cute so I may pick it up again.
How many anime have you seen by BONES? can you're anus handle getting BONED in the end? Because it will happen. It always does.
it's pretty aight
This is the show that really got me interested in anime and to this day I still love it.
Can't really say it was an Eva ripoff either.
Shame she looks like a cancer patient for half the series
I actually can't remember why at the moment
Is this the one that has manual transmission giant robots on surfboards that are also flying cars? If it is it's not as great as that sentence would lead you to believe.
The movie you posted is pretty trippy and weird at times.
The series proper is a masterpiece, motherfucker.
The movie is not worth anything. The manga is interesting
The anime itself is pretty decent. It is not an Evangelion rip-off.
Something about sinking into the scub coral (I think) and then being comatose for a long time.
Because she was depressed and tried to return to the scub.
Also, cancer Eureka is second best Eureka you bastard.
This guy gets it.
First best Eureka better be half-Coralian Eureka.
Why would you encourage vandalization? If i woke up one day and say graffiti on the moon i would be salty as fuck
The show goes through some really intense character development and fleshes it out really well. Rarely is any character a throw-away and theres a ton of little underlying plots that follow the main one so it makes for quite an interesting experience. 8/10 would watch again.
Sorry but I'm blinded by the majesty of winged Eureka
Well they would be written in moon runes anyway so it would all be good.
Niggas of course winged Eureka is best Eureka.
Eureka seven was a hidden gem. Never talked about on /a/ except for the hatewagon that was AO, but the first series was pure beauty. Hardly any filler except the obvious soccer episode, good character development for all the characters, a plot that actually isn't full of fifty million holes, but does leave a lot unanswered.
Oh, and that bones ending.
Also, animation 10/10, the pink explosions make me wet.
I'm not sure why, but I can only get into romance if the girl isn't human. And if she is, I can ignore any other faults in the quality of said romance.
I loved it. Eureka is a cutie. But man, those fucking kids. THOSE FUCKING KIDS, MAN.
Are you ready for Ron Paul?
Thanks for reminding me, asshole
Would have loved it if they were stuck on earth alone but they brought the brats
Actually, wait, why the fuck did they bring them, again? Were they stowaways?
It's a rip off of Gargantia.
I saved this from the other day. Still curious as to why the mannequin has a vagina.
Pretty sure that's a shoop.
The whole thing or just the vagina?
Look at the quality, you fuck.
If you manage to get past the first 14 episodes, you'll like it since the story keeps getting better after that.
>plot that actually isn't full of fifty million holes
HAH! Not anything relevant anyways. Don't let this turn you off though. Its plotholes in the same way that Eva doesn't explain shit to you about the metaphysical lore of everything. Still enjoyable as fuck to watch.
I'm really fucking confused, I've never seen Eureka 7 and I thought that was the art style.
>Actually, wait, why the fuck did they bring them, again? Were they stowaways?
Major plot development for Eureka. If you remember the reason as to why she has a personality and isn't just an empty shell of a 'person', then you understand the reason for the kids' existence.
Don't insult their kids... they never even had a chance.
And the one that did is a little bitch.
OP 4 > 2 > 3 = 1
ED 4 > 1 > 2 > 3
Eureka 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Renton 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Nirvash final > the rest
No, I mean on their extremely dangerous mission that day
show sucked and the two best characters got offed way too easily
>Actually, wait, why the fuck did they bring them, again? Were they stowaways?
Yeah, the kids hid on the Nirvash when they were trying to meet up with Sakuya; at that point they were kind of stuck.
Also, the kids, Eureka, and Renton all got some big character development from that little incident.
It's to simulate a camel toe which women tend to have I would imagine.
Fluer is best girl.
What people need to do is watch ep1 of FLCL, then watch episode 1 of Eureka Seven.
It is almost as if the director copy pasted the storyboarding and scene layout from FLCL episode one, all the way down to the kid almost saying the same lines.
Way past the homage lines, and pretty much just copying.
Are you talking about Charles and Ray?
I know exactly who you mean and I agree. Truely she was best girl
>it's all an edit
>why does the edit have an edit
but of course i am
I still don't understand why everyone likes them
Their motivation is so retarded it hurts
I was just guessing.
I personally liked them because they made Renton just a little less of an insufferable brat. Not that I didn't like Renton.
I wonder if Renton had stayed with Charles and Ray if things would have gotten incestuous.
>Looks like a Evangelion rip-off.
It's not really anything like it.
>Was this show worth a shit?
Once they stopped focusing on SURFING MECHA and got to the real plot, sure, it was good.
It also one of the more interesting romances, with a person reacting realistically to a loved one undergoing an inhuman transformation and not abandoning her just because it got a little weird..
I liked them because they were the first real adults/parent figures in the whole series.
They also did a lot to help Renton.
I wouldn't go so far as to call Ray best girl though.
>undergoing an inhuman transformation
The one in the manga was crazier
Though the manga didn't end well
The best romance ended up being Anemome and Dominick, in my opinion. I was crying at that final scene between the two.
Had Renton and Eureka just kicked it with Charles and Ray, *spoilers* The scub coral wouldn't have woken up, our dimension wouldn't have had holes in it, half the human race wouldn't have left towards the event horizon, and there wouldn't be graffiti on the moon. Not to mention they were fabulous as fuck
>The one in the manga was crazier
Why, anon, whatever do you mean?
I remember when it was aired over here and we had our internet cut for a long time. I couldn't watch any other anime cause they were either inu yasha or naruto reruns so this was a complete godsend. That show was like magic to me.
Is the sequel good?
No, not that one. The one where she looks like she's in a fucking breadbowl
Ray and Charles hated the hell out of Eureka though. That was a big plot element with them; Renton had to choose whether to stay with them and let the Gekko get destroyed or to return to Eureka and fight.
>Is the sequel good?
It actually poisons the ending to this series. Avoid it
I'm a huge fag for pretty much everything Bones makes, but I just couldn't get into this series for some reason.
People really seem to like it though. Give it a shot, OP.
I've avoided the manga mostly because Bad End. I'm sure it has its own artistic purpose, but I thought Eureka 7's ending was a breath of fresh air. I felt so goddamn happy.
There's was interesting, I admit. Eureka 7 had its solid set of sentimental moments for sure.
Seriously don't watch it.
>Implying mangled-ripped-in-half-false-Eureka-soul-devouring-Coralian Eureka isn't best Eureka.
Your tastes are shit.
>"It's probably because of that crazy light show."
>"Yeah so instead of adopting war orphens (because they're fucking everywhere) let's go on a small minded revenge kick and kill someone WHO ACTUALLY DID ADOPT NEEDY CHILDREN
I was just happy to see a romance that has some closure and ends well
The sequel is good for episode 13 and absolutely nothing else.
I avoided the manga for a long time as well because I didn't want to ruin the happy ending, but the manga is actually very good. It has a very bitter-sweet but also very nice ending. It's extremely different from the anime, but still provides some great moments and good closure.
>you will never kiss a pink haired girl while free falling upside down without any parachutes
that's some real fine eureka right there
Don't forget badass Renton.
Milf Eureka is hot, and badass Renton is badass.
You're thinking of RahXephon, mate.
>Is the sequel good?
If you have no expectations. The music and art was amazing. I enjoyed it more than a lot of stuff that's popular on here.
See, in the anime, that would just be her giving her boyfriend a spirited hug and he would smile sweetly at her before whispering sensuously onto her pseudopod "So can you fuck in this form or what?".
I want to read the manga but I don't want to read from the start. From wich chapter should I read?
's not even her
You really should read from the start. The story starts diverging very early. The first... I want to say 3 chapters are more or less the same as in the anime, but even then you'll miss out on some fun scenes.
You get a panty shot of Eureka if that is incentive.
>Is the sequel good?
Let me just give you a bit of a taste of it: By lore and logic of the series, the sequels timeline and events make sense in that they make absolutely no fucking sense.
The director actually said he want eureka seven became next Evangelion
But after all no that close
So ends up he works in Rebuild
Most people who consider the sequel good don't think of it as a sequel at all.
For the most part it gets a bad rep due to a poor plot. It has a great OST though.
And thank god for that. He wanted the original ending to be about Eureka dying and Renton having to move on and shit like the manga ends up. Thank god the writers talked him out of that shit.
If you value their relationship's optimistic end, don't watch the sequel. It'll just poison it. Not destroy, but still detract from it
So why was AO bad? Never seen it, don't care to.
But something isn't ART unless it's DEPRESSING.
If something makes you feel good inside, it's obviously a shallow and empty ploy to pluck the audience's heartstrings, unless killing off a female character so that the male lead can be sad for a while.
The page in Gantz where some guy fucks a gigantic alien ripped off from avatar. I just had it with the author he fucking ruined his own story's potential. A real fucking shame since the first chapters were god tier
wrong thread jesus
I liked AO's music.
The original ending was supposed to be New Order, and New Order has its own merits... though I agree in that I think I prefer the anime ending we got.
It retconned everything. It retconned itself, It retconned its predecessor, it had a gun designed to retcon things.
Even if you ignore the whole "sequel" part of its existence, it has stupid villains, loads of boring and disposable characters, a stupid plot, and... not necessarily plot holes, but very weak plot elements.
You know, it's funny. I initially hated the fuck out of the kids, but I warmed up to them after Renton earned their respect a little and they stopped being complete shits.
Their attachment to their mom and fear about losing her is totally understandable and I felt they played an important role when Eureka began to go all green.
I dunno, I tend to like characters more if I initially wanted to see them die by vehicular collision.
>so many positive reception in this thread
I always thought to avoid it because everyone on /a/ always said it was the worst thing ever and Bones' abortion.
I guess I will pick it up then.
It's sequel is the worst thing ever and a walking abortion.
E7 tends to be love it or hate it, but it merits a recommendation.
>Never talked about on /a/ except for the hatewagon that was AO
Are you fucking new?
nah fuck it
My autism won't let me drop shows and 16 hours of my life is too much of a risk
Don't worry. The series is a bit of a slow start, so you won't feel compelled to marathon it until a good number of episodes in.
It's great! I love it, the characters have somewhat human responses to weird anime shit, there is not much fanservice, the couple are cute and not stupid, the resolve at ending is awesome. But don't watch the sequel, the movie is ok but Eureka Seven AO is fuckin dumb as fuckin shit.
Because they wer4e nice and not ginormous faggots like everyone aboard the Gekko
but does evangelion have THIS?
But this isn't Bones. It clearly says "Bandai" on the picture you stupid asshole.
She looks like gabby giffords
