>Magi Ep. 15
And there I though we were going to get a boring "evil guy".
But now, I like him and somewhat agree with what he says.
After catching up with the manga, This episode and probably the next 3 or 4 are going to be boring as shit.
The only thing I didn't like is that Aladdin didn't bring up the whole thing about, if one goi tries to escape, they will all be killed. That's kind of important.
Oh boy. Picked up
Pick it up when it's done airing, you'll thank me after you see the last episodes unitnerrupted
Thanks for the advice.
Just make sure you don't catch up on the manga either, unless you want to suffer the wait longer.
They're all scums.
Magical girls are better than non magical girls
What tier would he fit under?
>Villains who are retaliating against misdeeds done to them. They may be seeking to change society as a whole
It's word for word what Mogamett is doing.
>I like him and somewhat agree with what he says.
Please stop posting wrong version
Dunno who Wallace is but you'll notice in my (correct) version that Elder God Tier and down goes from most sympathetic to least sympathetic. This is intentional. Villains you can understand and relate to are better than ones who are just assholes. That's why it fucks everything up to switch Meh and Great tier.
Mogamett is a hero to his people. He just lived long enough to see himself become the villain.
He's not even evil at all, that's the point.
TRUST TEH RUKH
Somewhere between high and mid?
OP, just you wait as a bit later in the series he will turn out evil.
It always goes like this.
He never gets any more evil than >>100586772 and eventually learns to forgive and accept non-magicians before he dies.
What are you guys even talking about? His logic makes absolutely no fucking sense. It's like if after the holocaust subsided jews rose up and started gassing people with blonde hair and blue eyes.
I'm not sure which version I find more agreeable. Get it together, /co/.
His VA's doing a real good job of switching from "kind old man" to "heartless bastard who doesn't even see you as a sentient life form".
Also I didn't expect him to voice young Mogamett as well. Pretty surprising
Even when he was saying nice shit it sounded like orders to murder babies.
Makes sense though.
Something similar actually happened in Haiti, where the overly brutalized Slaves took up arms against their masters, and created a new nation.
Granted, the country is now pretty crappy.
So it's not like this is something that will/has never happened.
I personally like the second one, but would rather the 2nd and 3rd tier be switched.
Well yeah but as he said, he provides food and drinks, all they do is fuck around.
I wonder though, if someone who was a goi wanted to help/work.
Would they be allowed?
It's different, though. He's torturing a generation that had nothing to do with what happened, and not because they tried to enslave them, but because they couldn't pay taxes or were born by someone who couldn't pay taxes.
dude's got skill, I'll give you that.
Also, hitler art of him when?
Guilt by Association is clearly still a concept enforced in this sort of culture.
The "Taxes" part is likely an excuse really. Though honestly, they had most of the royal family executed anyways.
His mentality has simply been warped to a point where he sees "Goi" as less than human, and literally just animals.
It's a number of factors that all play together, really.
But the ones who are productive lead good lives, you got level 3/4 or whatever.
It could be looked at as a statement on the position most countries find themselves in, people who just don't want to work and feed off of the government.
This way their "government" has a use for them.
I live in Ireland, where people never even try to find a job and just go for social welfare, so in my sick view I really enjoy what he did to those people.
How is Marga justified in living there then? She isn't too lazy to work or anything, plus she's a sick girl. Though this may just be a 'use' for lazy people the system has some glaringly obvious flaws that make it unjustifiable.
This, pretty much.
I think it's amusing that at this point Reim is looking to be the most humane, for lack of a better term, of the major empires, considering their chief form of entertainment is brutal blood sports.
Same reason why children of magicians go to Tier 3
You get placed in a tier just because of whatever your parents are
What about Sinbad? Where would he fit?
So is this guy a literal jew? He says goy and everything
yes, though instead of jews and non-jews it's magicians and non-magicians.
He's THAT jew who decided not to go into the gas-chambers, and instead shoved all the Nazis into it, as well as enslaving the remainder of the country..
Ya know, if Jews had superpowers that they didn't want to hide
IS this like how Germans are still called nazis?
And is the taxes he makes them pay like reparations Germans are still paying off to Israel?
I highly doubt Germans are paying reparations to Isreal. However, I am also highly uneducated.
Oh my fucking god how much more Jewish can you get?
Are the IRL jews even mad about this?
It would be to that effect, yes. (Not sure if the second point is true though)
That being said, it's also within their interests to keep as many people down there, considering they power all of their magical tools.
Hell, they only paid off their WW1 reparations in 2010.
There is a link to the German embassies webpage.
Its the first thing I could find if its not good enough Ill find another.
Yes Germany is still paying Reparations for the 66billion
>There is a link to the German embassies webpage.
Nah, /pol/ now is more "insult the person and tell them to go somewhere else".
That's their entire argument these days.
> I like him and somewhat agree with what he says.
Are you a Jew by any chance?
What's the black stuff on his skin?
liver spots/age spots.
Nope, lived in Poland, used to be forced to attend Church and all the religion bullshit over and over.
When moved to Ireland finally free to become Atheist.
Disgusting black spots
chocolate chips. He's slowly turning into a giant bearded cookie.
I cant believe he actually used the word goy and looks like a Jew. Wow
That fucking ending sequence was so great.
How fucking old is he? He looked exactly the same 30 yeas ago
How come the gois are so kawaii?
fucking magic yo
Many hours in paint
I'm pretty sure he's like 90-100.
In the episode he mentions that what happens happened 70 years ago, there he looked about mid 20's.
Wasnt WW2 70 years ago?
I really hope this series replaces Naruto when it ends this year.
I'm wondering how strong Mogamett was if he was the only non-magi to sense Sinbads birth
I want Magi to be the next long-running series that's so popular it makes the entire anime community thrive and inspires other aspiring mangaka to create great manga.
Basically I want Magi to become the god of a new world. So many other manga/anime are too short or too non-mainstream to do it. Magi however fits greatly, it's looks like it's going to be around for quite a while and it's a battle manga with likable characters so almost anyone can enjoy it.
If they have strong enough magoi and enough energy to study and be deemed worthy. It's tough but it's still somewhat fair.
You forgot the picture.
Then I don't see how this is a bad thing to do.
The way they run things seems really reasonable.
They get their magoi sucked out of them constantly underground. It's just another way to weed out the strong/magicians from the weak/goi.
It's merely the lesser of two evils when compared to how the magicians were treated before Magnostadt was founded.
>I don't see how this is a bad thing to do
The Goi are literally livestock to the Magicians. Do you find this acceptable?
Maybe not strong but experienced. The three magis are quite old too.
Also it's funny that only one of the people that sensed Sinbad's birth actually met him in person.
Yes I do.
They were put in that position because they were worthless, most don't even try to do anything about it.
If they're gonna waste their lifes and be scum they might as well be usefull to others who will to wish to achieve great things.
But what about that little girl, who wants to actually do something with her life, but can't, because the constant magic drain will eventually kill her before she reaches any kind of maturity?
This is likely not a unique case, either.
I haven't read the manga, but has someone notified the higher ups?
For all they know she's just some kid. Besides, she's there because of her parents, not because she was put there intentionally.
Maybe people do want to try and care just think it's pointless, There are a few facts missing to tell for sure how the situation is, but I see the glass half full rather than the opposite.
If they wanna act like goi and be useless then by all means. Those who don't give back to society shouldn't reap the benefits, a lot of them had choices to join the military, be involved in trade so they can live in the 3rd and 4th district.
Of course kids like Marga get screwed over but that's life
How about this? Everyone in the 5th District may choose to leave and anyone who wishes to live in the 5th District can live there. They already get food, no taxes, and some shelter. The best part about the district is they don't really have to do anything. It's a haven for underachievers.
What the hell happened to the partevian empire?
Greece being irrelevant
They need get some of dem magio.Better system would be put tests every year. If you succeed you will be out of there.
>They need get some of dem magio
So? I'm pretty sure some people would choose to live there other than the other countries like those adults in the 5th District.
Which of Sinbads servants are gonna stay loyal to him when he falls into depravity?
Don't spoil pls.
The thing is that he is basing his position off of what's happening in the fifth district, whereas Aladdin has seen a lot more of the world. I think the main problem here is he's replacing a black and white ideology with another black and white ideology. His position is understandable, but it's still wrong.
Ja'far and maybe Masrur
Anime viewers already know his half fallen
Not really a spoiler since it hasn't happened yet even in the manga
>Fall into depravity
Kouen is much more likely to fall, Sinbad is the farthest a person can be from falling.
He's not exactly pure and noble like Alibaba, but hey least he knows how to talk to girls.
All of them at first. By the end of the arc, only Ja Far, Masrur and that dragon guy.
Why do you want less magoi my nose doesnt understand.
why can't people who hold multiple metal vessels use all of their Djiin equips at the same time? it couldn't possibly take up too much Magoi since we've seen them go back and forth between equips with little to no effort
>but hey least he knows how to talk to girls.
He also knows how to mindcontrol them
Better than have magoi than none at all when some kid thwarts your plan because he doesn't share your views.
Look at this faggot, look at him and laugh
Ordinary people can't even hold multiple vessels, Sinbad is a miracle and Kouen is cuh-ray-zay.
Probably because the Djinns or something, Amon wasn't keen on Alibaba getting another Djinn.
But plan is still on action. Everything is on motion.
And you're gonna get your plan ruined by a cute magical shota and his friends.
The issue is that he isn't a reincarnating sage. He lacks perspective and isn't aware of how a magi betrayed King Solomon and destroyed the old world.
I'm in the process of catching up now. But, an actually tolerable antagonist in Magi? Yes please.
This needs "Did you think it was some cute girl. It's just me. SInbad" photoshopped
honestly, who cares what Amon thinks? The only thing that matters is what the Djinn in the next dungeon thinks.
I could absolutely imagine using a shield as a weapon equip on a sword and shield but having a 3rd vessel to use as a full equip as armor.
Now granted Alibaba is more of a duelist than a knight so he might prefer packing light but I still think having multiple vessels is useful.
He's going to be redeemed anyway just like Dreadlocks edgelord and goi hater
Unless I ruin shota first.
I'll be honest, Magi's setup reminds me of Exalted. They share very similar themes, are extremely close in some instances, and establish grey-on-grey morality.
There has been some very obvious foreshadowing for Sinbad becoming a villain, or at least an obstacle to Alibaba and Aladdin. I think he's going to get himself killed by being too ambitious.
Elder god tier could use a different poster boy. Veidt was a rather undeveloped character in the comic book, so it's because of that people wronfully assume some cleverly written ambiguity in his actions.
>and goi hater
>Trying to make me sympathize with Magic Hitler
I just want him to kick Kouen ass first, I fucking hate his smug smile
I'm in the process of catching up now. But, an actually tolerable antagonist in Magi? Yes please.
the ending song/music in this part is so inappropriate to what is being shown
i like it
He may be final boss, but he's nowhere near Villain.
/pol/ pls stay
I think Kouen will be Alibaba's opponent. Jafar is obviously Aladdin's opponent, and as for Morgiana.... well she fight that lunatic queen.
As for the other enemy generals I imagine they will fight Alibaba's other household members.
That is of course assuming Alibaba actually gets anymore household members.
>classic shonen match ups
Your entire comment doesn't make much sense
oh vey, the japs are into us
So how is it that the chink is the only one that knows how to run a country?
> Jafar is obviously Aladdin's opponent
How is that obvious?
oh shit I was thinking disney movies for a second, I meant to say was Judar.
Kou empire is getting assblasted by Sinbad right now
Kouen doesn't run the country, he's a general.
Years pf experience following a legacy, one would suggest.
Also, having Judal help them retrieve metal vessels helped keep order likely.
Still doesn't make any sense as to why Morgiana will fight a magi
IRL jew here. Not even mad, it's kinda funny.
FYI, the only jews that actually use the word goy are the Haredi jews, which is the stream in religion every other stream hates with a passion. They are often considered cancer in Israel.
That image makes no sense, because Irenicus belongs to shit tier.
He lusted after being a god after his banging sister brought the idea up so he tried to fuck everything up. His vengeance was a later motive.
Sindria is still best country
Are you an Ashkenazi?
meant for >>100592923
Was /pol/ right again?
She's a magic Centaur
by Lunatic queen I meant Gyokuen Ren, the bitch who killed her children to gain power.
and these are just off the top of my head.
And she's a magi so Mor would get oneshotted by her
Did Anders Brevik make this one ?
bull shit, where did you hear that?
His comment doesn't make any sense
The manga? doesn't really matter since it'll be revealed at the end of this season
well my bad, I literally don't remember them ever stating that she was a Magi. Or maybe they did and I thought they were talking about Judar.
It just doesn't make sense for her to be a Magi since she's part of a noble family. I always thought Magi were supposed to be like wisemen who wonder the desert and show up in town one day to choose a king to rule the world or something like that.
>It just doesn't make sense for her to be a Magi since she's part of a noble family.
That's because she's from Alma Torran like Aladdin
She's a fallen magi
She's a magi of the past world, same as Aladdin. It's highly likely she is the one who betrayed Solomon and provoked the former world's destruction
I wonder why someone hasn't simply paid off the guards then murdered the Kou royal family in their sleep.
Sounds like something Hakuryuu might do, just saying. Doesn't matter how badass you are, a dagger to the heart will still kill you.
Hakuryuu wants revenge, not just death. Plus mommy's magic.
That also doesn't make any sense though, she would have be like 500 years old for that to be true. At least in the case of Aladdin we can assume that Ugo kept him alive since he seems to have control over life and death.
Magi can have multiple lives
Why is Kouen so strong?
Sinbad is a miracle in universe so it kinda make sense but why does Kouen has enough magoi to sustain three djinn for example? just because?
nobody else has more than one dijjin
He just feel like a forced Sinbad rival/equal
To be fair, we don't know much about him.
Why not? Some people are just born special.
>And there I though we were going to get a boring "evil guy".
The guy has Brook's seiyuu, how could he be boring?
>nobody else has more than one dijjin
We still don't know that, there's a lot of world building left for Magi and I'd assume Alibaba and Hakuryuu will get another djinn in the future.
That's Ugo's domain though, and as far as we know Ugo has no reason to keep an enemy of Solomun alive.
Rest of dubbed episodes when?
He's half-fallen since his dungeon capturing days. I don't think his chance of falling willingly are high.
Considering how he doesn't want his household members to assimilate, he doesn't want any of them falling with him.
Slightly on topic but the mangaka drew Ciel recently.
Whoops, forgot image.
she can draw like four type of faces
She can draw the rest pretty good though.
It just felt like the author needed someone who could rival Sinbad , she brings up the subject almost every time Kouen appears.
holy shit /pol/ was right!
That particular Ciel isn't the Tsukihime kind, isn't it?
What do you mean?
But it can be confusing sometimes
You can recognise SInbad by his creepy smile
well at least he did it now and not during the wedding night.
>thats it alibaba, thats really good keep thrusting like that she is really liking it
Fish Princess would have been thinking about Sinbad anyway,it's not big deal
iirc the manga said that Ali can't have more than one
Maybe he can with Cassim's magoi
That was before his magoi fused with Cassim's. Now he's like the third guy with the most magoi in Magi, after Sinbad and Kouen.
can you explain about "sensing sinbad's birth"
btw i dont read manga, should i ?
For a thread about not-israel I am absolutely surprised about how well you guys deflected and kept out /pol/, good job. I mean it really.
This one makes more sense.
Isn't Partevia the Persian parallel?
That's the one flaw in Mogamett's society.
There's no class flexibility.
The children born in the pit have astronomical infant mortality rates, and those who survive end up growing up physically stunted or often plagued by chronic illnesses.
Adults are strong enough to live in a polluted atmosphere, but children, the weak, and the elderly die from the stress of constantly being drained.
The thing that makes me never really agree with the chart is the assumption that villains who are just plain assholes can't be great villains
It's a very simplistic view at things that implies that everything about the character comes down to his motivations.
It's more like an approximation, that relies on the fact that most of the "world domination" or "I'm so evil" villains are simply there because it's the easiest type to write and the authors didn't give them much attention, it doesn't mean that you can't write a good villain that is like that.
New chapter is out.
...read the latest chapter, also his "darkness," Sinbad is probably the first character to ever give me bad vibes without explicitly being called a villain.
I'm still hoping this fusion results in a split personality for Alibaba. It'd be hilarious to see him switch from white-knight cherry boy to badass motherfucker in an instant
It honestly would make more sense to have all children grow up above-ground, select out the ones that show talent, and then throw the rest into the pit once they have developed.
He's an anti-villain, like Ozymandias. "The good of the many outweighs the good of the few", and all that jazz
