Does Evangelion only impress people who have haven't seen many anime?
Do people who have 100+ days of anime watched still think Eva is a masterpiece?
Take your hipster glasses off and just accept it
I don't think anyone should consider it a masterpiece considering all it's flaws. It's still really good though.
You may not like it, but it's pretty much unanimous that Eva is a masterpiece. Well, maybe it's the wrong term, but it has been too influential to just categorized as some entry level stuff.
Eva has a lot of flaws but there aren't really all that many anime TV series that tell a good character driven story. Masterpiece is a bit too far but it's a powerful human drama that's really competent on a filmmaking level. If you're incredibly jaded I suppose it won't affect you but I watched it recently and it really holds up after ~80 days of anime for me.
Influential doesn't mean good though
Watching it now, I think it's decent, but there seems to be loads of stff that's there just because "the teenagers watchin this will get a raging boner and watch more!". I like the animation though!
The endings though
It still holds up.
I'll say EoE is a masterpiece and the fight with Asuka and the MP Evas is still one of the best I've ever seen.
It's a good show but it's certainly not a masterpiece.
It's an entertaining show with good execution and characters, but it's not a masterpiece.
Did Shinji masturbate on Asuka
It's one of the closest things to a masterpiece anime has to offer.
Whether you like it or not it was actually very good, from the direction, to pacing, to the setting, and the psycho-analysis of the characters.
I fucking love it but I hate threads about it and the people who like it.
Hey, just like Anno!
Not sure if he's ever said he hated Eva though.
The more anime I've watched the more I've come to appreciate how well executed it was. I'm still well over it, after so many years of people never shutting the fuck up about it, but I still have to admit it's a very good show.
Excellent animation, good soundtrack, grand scale. As far as 'retarded, off the wall anime plots' go it's actually pretty well done barring the last two episodes.
He hates people who like Eva, I believe.
Actually it's the opposite, I've come to appreciate it more. It's a generally good show and I think that's kind of unique for this medium.
A lot of shows try and do what it did and fail, it's by no means perfect but it did what it did.
If it was good or not wasn't even the matter. Muh reading comprehension.
The more anime I watch the more I realize there are very few shows that come even close to the level Evangelion is on.
because it is, it was mind blowing when it camed out i remmeber reading about it and then watched it on vhs back in 1998, and it was a whole new different and exciting series, it did in anime what watchmen and miracleman did in comic books
Why did Misato kiss Shinji?
