What do you think about debates about what fictional character would win in a fight?
they're useless it always devolves into
using two completely different measuring tools
I love them. As far as stupid wastes of time go pointless powerlevel arguments are pretty fun.
It's like a version of the schoolyard favorite "My dad could beat up your dad!" except somehow even more sad and childish.
I find them fun, as long as the people involved can leave fanboyism aside and avoid fanwanking.
They're great fun.
They're pretty cool hypothetical situations and such. And if it's a more clever VS then you can learn an interesting tid-bit or two.
Then you have faggotfuck wankers who come in and fuck everything up.
boils down to Demonbane.
inb4 muh Flash!
And Muh Thought Robut.
is this left to right or top to bottom?
The X axis isn't for anything. People tried to use it for something, it didn't work.
Someone should go through an remove retarded characters.
Arceus was beaten up by a meteor shower
This claims he's stronger than STTGL
They suck now considering Furashu is always thecorrect answer.
Tetsuo is way too high on that
He was strong, but no where near that strong.
Numerous characters below him would rock his shit in seconds
Demonbane could make a better thread
Fuck at least someone finally fixed that so Tenchi isn't higher than EGD
Demonbane still wins against the Thought Robot.
I bet it's abilities are being overstated as well (even if they aren't Demonbane still wins) so /co/ could have something to wag it's dick against Demonbane.
he clearly has to sacrifice a cigarette or lollipop by snapping it to gain his strength
They can be fun when you actually get to interesting matchups but mostly it turns to shit because of ambiguous limits or incompatible matchups or "my God can beat up your God"
You have to limit the scope of your discussion or you get discussions like "can Yukari manipulate the boundary between victory and defeat, and if so, does that supercede Bernkastel's ability to create miracles?" where it's basically subjective and other ones like "does Yukari's ability to manipulate the boundary between fiction and reality make her immune to Featherine's powers, or even put her on the same level as Featherine?" where it's mostly fanwank shit
Elder God Demonbane is right on the mystical power side even though it should be a Magic user in addition to it's other two types, as the majority of it's "powers" other than the blantant OP hax ones are actual magic spells.
It should be at least mid tier on the physical side since it is literally strong enough to cause a billion comets to explode and a planet to split in half from the shockwave caused by slamming it's pistols together.
You should add a "In no particular order"or "Sorted just by power type" disclamer on Special Tier.
But does Demonbane win against Bugs Bunny?
The real question : Can Bugs Bunny destroy Boss Borot?
>> Werewolf Queen! It's always Werewolf Queen!
it accomplishes nothing
every single thread is bait
it doesnt give you any real appreciation or insight into the characters or world
the real real question: can bugs win a basketball match against demonbane and thought robot with the help of Michael Jordan?
Ah, found it: powerranks dot blogspot dot com
It's not been updated since October and the centecimal entries of the negative ranks are sorted backwards, but around the time it seemed to give a good idea of how things were.
>saving the shit version
Playground arguments. One might as well debate about whether Star Wars or Star Trek is better, or X genre of music is better than Y - both sides have their minds concluded about the hierarchy of things they have strong emotional/personal attachments to, and concluding arguments are again often based more on emotional appeals than facts. Power level autism slapfests can be based on "facts", but the "facts" regarding power levels themselves can be changed because they are just arbitrarily set by their authors.
The most powerful incarnation of Goku would by the looks of it, fucking smoke the original incarnation of Superman before his powerlevel got to cosmic levels. On the other end the most powerful incarnation of Superman would utterly atomize the original incarnation of Goku (or should I say son Goku assuming DBZ). Logically it would make sense to compare the top power levels of each, however Goku as a character has stopped evolving to keep up with the times with "modern" uber powerlevels, because DBZ is over. Superman on the other hand is still plastic in the hands of writers, so him, like any other characters, can be "patched" to be stronger so to speak by any comic writer insecure that some other fag could totally beat up their childhood idol superhero.
I'd say perhaps the most fair assessment would be comparing year-by-year side-by-side: 1996 Superman vs 1996 Goku, because DBZ finished in 1996 (movie crap doesn't count imo). 1995 if you wanna be anal and say the DBZ manga finished up in 95. Of which, in those years I have no clue who is better then who. You also need to take into account Superman is written by people who clearly don't fucking understand physics (much less science) for shit, and so he is greatly inconsistent in theoretical vs displayed powerlevels due to different writers/comics etc.
Most of these relative rankings seem completely arbitrary on each version of the chart.
I can't speak for any of the previous versions prior to the first real editing just 2 weeks ago but I can assure you that just about every character has been discussed to death for their placement.
>Tenchi above the other God-level characters, even Demonbane, for literally no reason
Looks pretty shit to me
It is pretty arbitrary in some spots but it's important to point out it wasn't intended as a "who would win" thing, it's more like a "who can get the most shit done" thing
They're all shit, that one just has the most characters, thereby making it among the most convoluted and inaccurate.
>Tenchi above the other God-level characters, even Demonbane, for literally no reason
I know. If it were up to me I'd place all the God characters on the same level. There's no point in arguing which God character is stronger than the other.
Okay, as I understand the way some /co/ward explained Bugs Bunny's toon power it is like the drawing reaching out and grabbing the pen.
EGD's bullshit is more like the drawing(which is EGD), reaching out and grabbing the pen(which is also EGD), out of the author's(who is also EGD) hand, in a world(which is also EGD) that exists as part of a universe(EGD), that is a fraction of the multiverse(EGD) which is in fact just the composite idea of some writers at nitro+(who are EGD), in our world(EGD) that is part of our universe(EGD), which is but one universe in an infinite number of permutations(all of which are EGD) in the many worlds theory which was created by EGD when he made reality actualize out of the endless potential that is Azthoth by making Azthoth into a stick that EGD hits people with after breaking causation and creating an inifinite time loop of creation and uncreation that EGD doesn't perceive since it exist out side of creation(EGD) and at all points with in creation, at all times, in all possibilities, in every dimensional axis.
Cell is perfect girl! All other characters a shit!
Forgoing the endless Tenchi/Demonbane war
Can you at least fix Demonbane's abilities?
Demonbane is a Divine Being:The Elder Gods are the literal Gods of Creation
That uses magic spells: Mirror of Nitocris, Atla Akta, Elder Sign ect
Weapon user: Cthulga and Ithaqua ect
Reality Warper: De Marginy's Clock, Timaeus and Critas, Shining Trapezohedron ect
They foster greater understanding of both characters involved for all participants as it becomes an activate debate going over all of what both can do.
>Bern and Lambda
>More powerful than Yukari
The color coding thing is stupid because it's badly incomplete, arbitrary (what's the difference between Alchemy/Soul and Magic? What the hell is Quantum Power and should it even be there if only three characters are defined under it?), and apparently there's a limit to only two attributes per character.
For example, Yukari is a youkai which should automatically place her as a "demon being" and she also has extremely powerful magic which would classify her has a magic user. At the same time, she has the unique and broadly defined power to "manipulate boundaries" which basically gives her a degree of power over any object or concept that can be expressed in relation to something else, which I would argue is a "Special Power" because it completely ignores power levels and lets you do things like create portals out of reflections and flip between life and death.
There's a similar thing with the Umineko Witches where they have a certain gimmick (the ability to make any possibility happen/the ability to ensure success in any effort) along with their immense magical power and universe-tier reality warping
Basically the chart's fucked
If I remember I'll bring it up next thread.
