Just finished this. I'm not saying it's bad, but it fell very flat. Maybe I had expectations for the movie, as I've heard it been praised here many times, but I don't really get why this movie stands out in a medium saturated with stories based around time travel.
>as I've heard it been praised here many times
Happens a lot here. Don't fall for any hype you get on /a/.
Don't fall for any hype you get anywhere. It's better to go into anything with low expectations.
>It's better to go into anything with low expectations.
Same with anything else in life really. Aim low, and never be disappointed.
It wasn't simply high expectations. I've only heard of the movie by name, nothing else, and have seen it recommended often. I really want to hear what someone thinks of the movie who did love it, though, because this movie seems very love/hate akin to 5 Centimeters Per Second.
>seems very love/hate akin to 5 Centimeters Per Second
It doesn't really feel that way to me. It was enjoyable, nothing totally unique. It's pretty amusing seeing references to her leaping in other pieces of media though, so it's just not one of those unknown things.
It's for normalfags.
>very love/hate akin to 5 Centimeters Per Second.
5cm/s' love is easily explained. Your enjoyment depended solely on how much you could self-insert yourself into the loser MC.
True, and it's pretty hard for me to relate to an idiot tomboy who tries her hardest to make people not ask her out.
