How does /a/ feel about Death Note?
I enjoyed it the same way I enjoyed Bleach. Take that as you will.
Reminder that Light is a manlet.
>A 6 ft tall manlet
Even /fit/ doesn't think that.
I got a late start on it. Gave up trying to catch up.
The same everyone else thinks. It's good until L dies. And I say that with Near as my favorite character.
The Near plot was stupid
He's clearly 5'6".
>implying Mello isn't best character
The thick line is obviously the foot line.
Why make the thick line the 6" line?
Should have ended when L died, it went downhill afterwards
But it did. Light won and created his utopia.
Good manga, forced ending.
Were the kids every properly foreshadowed or did the author just bring them in at the last second.
They both had really good character development, at least Mello did. Near sat on his ass the entire time looking edgy, and beat Light because of Mello's sacrifice and Mikami's stupidity.
I don't think you know what foreshadowing means. What I asked was did L or his butler ever mention that they had two kids on reserve, should L ever die.
>mfw im as tall as ryuk
Its good. Though a lot of the time I get the feeling Light isnt as bright as he claims. Often times he'd look surprised at something, then the next panel he's all "a-actually ryuk, this is just as I planned. I knew it would happen". Even when he first finds out about L existing.
I get that feeling a lot. Especially about L and the second Kira theory near episode ten or so. It's common sense, really. I mean, the targets were so different from before.
How did that series turn to shit so quickly?
semi-believable hypnotism became a superpower
Shit character depth.
Shit 2nd half.
Entry level philosophy.
Could have been good, it had potential.
Wish I had stopped after L dies
most people did, i know i lost interest and just skimmed through the rest of the story.
People think it's good. Pretty much most people like it until L dies. Not amazing, a bit overrated, but I don't have many problems with it.
Misa a shit.
Why are japanese shinigami are so short?
> Pretty much most people like it until L dies.
The entire Yotsuba Corp portion was just useless bullshit. And that's right between where the story stops being fucking excellent and it picking up briefly before L dying.
I liked L.
L mentions that there are others who would pick up the slack should something happen to him, but I do feel like it wasn't properly foreshadowed or set up.
One of the few series that actually had believable supergenius characters which made for an actually compelling chess match and not a series of increasingly improbable coincidences that work in their favor.
And amazingly he kept the rules about the Note itself consistent and didn't contradict them.
Just really damn enjoyable.
Light was a cold, heartless asshole. Even MacBeth had more humanity in his pinky than Light in his entire existence. Light fucked over EVERYONE except Misa and that's because I feel that the author forgot about her.
Also, there were plot holes everywhere. One of the biggest ones was when Light met up with the dead FBI agent's fiancee. He was, literally, the last person she was seen with and NO ONE from the police department reported it. In fact, they let a potential witness to a very big case leave the precinct which is totally unheard of.
Another big plothole was that there was someone in Japan killing off politicians from major superpowers. Yet, none of them attacked Japan in retaliation or forced them to cooperate with them. Japan doesn't even have its own army, there is no way the rest of the world would have let that shit go down.
They will most likely reboot it in a few years and make it where L doesnt die butt near and mello still come into the story
so your name and your face is connected to your "soul"?.
Godtier OST and fantastic story.
Decent manga, but not great. For me it has a great start and a great ending. The middle bits were a series of hit and miss
>Light fucked over EVERYONE except Misa
Not true. He used her blind love for him to manipulate her into doing things that could have killed her like telling her she should make the eye deals
the twin towers still standing scene is illogical. The writers got their numbers wrong since light got his death note after the incident i believe.
It was the first anime, other than dbz, that i watched and i thought it was good. But it's probably shit if i rewatch it.
Why do you think that?
