I want to get into this series. All I have seen is the 1995 movie. Should I watch the sequel next or stand alone complex?

Sequel, then SAC
>>
Chronologically, it goes more or less like that:

SAC 1st season
SAC 2nd season
1995 movie
2004 movie
SAC movie

Arise takes place before all that, but it's kind of a reboot or alternative universe, so whatever.

GiTS doesn't have continuity between the mvoies, SAC and Arise.
>>
Does watching SAC require having seen either of the movies?
>>
Oh, this thread again. Read Wikipedia or AnimeDB.

Yep, the only thing in common is the disappearance of the Major. In SAC she's still in Section 9, in 1995 she vanishes, in 2004 she is still missing, and in SAC movie she's coming back.
Other than that, yes, there is no continuity.
