Is their planet a Dyson Sphere or do the people of the underworld just think fans appear out of nowhere since their memory is constantly changed?
Regardless, I would've thought that this series, as beautiful as it is, with a soundtrack that's easy to be considered as the best of anime, would've been original if only the whole multiple Warp entities manipulating the people and with Kaiba finally fighting to end their reign very reminiscent to Alex Proyas' Dark City(who, remarkably, has cited Akira as one of his inspirations).
Still deserves a 10/10 though, I really hope there's going to be more anime like this in the future.
I would recommend reading Blame! and Biomega if this was something you enjoyed.
I've already read both, I just find it a but amusing for Kaiba since the series as a whole just feels like Dark City, but anime.
