Has anyone seen this?
The art style looks kind of neat, does it have any major flaws?
>R - 17+
That's the biggest reason I want to watch this
Pretty fucking gay.
Characters are good, story gets pretty weird. Short enough that I'd say go for it.
Interested because it seems like the kind of series I might enjoy.
You can safely ignore MAL's rating system. Anything that has anything remotely resembling violence, panty shots, or profanity in the subs gets an R.
It's great if you're a faggot.
>story gets pretty weird
I'm pretty sure he got that at the "bones" already.
all the best girls and artstyle for best girls died for more homo
He asked for flaws, not for a reason to watch it.
Here we go.
Story's rushed as fuck,
Fucking wasps come out of nowhere and magic solves everything for no reason.
Its damn happy.
Major flaws? Other than it butchering the source material and having an anime-original ending?
Well, the characters aren't too bad, honestly. Understand that the basis is a shounen-ai setting between the main two male characters, and then they throw in (I'm not entirely sure why) a female childhood friend (of the white-haired MC). Horrible things happen to all of them.
Basically, this is like the anime version of Brave New World, but with a horribly paced and incompetent plot. Definitely forgettable and kind of tedious to watch. But if you really want a slightly different sci-fi anime, watch at your own discretion.
This. They cut it halfway rigth when things started to get interesting.
Story gets rushed, but I've learned to expect that with one-cour LN adaptations like this. Characters were good.
Is this some epic meme I'll only get if I watched it while it was airing?
It's a show about homosexual romance.
No, the series is just fucking gay
No, it's really really really really really really gay.
Free! was less gay than this.
>Major flaws? Other than it butchering the source material and having an anime-original ending?
I wasn't even familiar with the source material when it aired but that is the impression I got of it.
That, and the obvious fujoshi appeal it had.
It was gay.
No, they're both huge faggots. Also the show is shit
I've read the LNs, it's canon gay
No it's actually gay.
More like they ruined a romance with a perfectly fine childhood friend with tons of homo hints which were one-sided and didn't go anywhere.
No really, the MCs are full blown gay for one another. They kiss twice.
We are being serious here.
I downloaded it but fuck, I'm still searching for the manga
>More like they ruined a romance with a perfectly fine childhood friend with tons of homo hints which were one-sided and didn't go anywhere.
What a meh ending.
>with tons of homo hints which were one-sided and didn't go anywhere.
The source material has a canon gay end.
>Their lips overlapped. It was a searing, but gentle, passionate kiss.
>"Was that a... goodbye kiss?"
>"A vow." Nezumi smiled. "Reunion will come, Shion."
>all this gay talk
It's like I'm on /b/
The show is yaoi, what do you think?
Except Free wasn't even gay without goggles.
or rather shounen-ai, since yaoi is porn.
This sums it up pretty well.
Well, at least that's something. In the anime it didn't go anywhere, like the rest of the plot.
Yeah it was pretty forced.
They're gay but that's not a flaw, the flaw is that it's really dumb and not that well written.
The manga is very lewd.
Watch the series.
Yaoi porn ???
Bara = true hentai, yaoi is too much censored to be porn.
The ending was really fucking gay in a non-homosexual way
The ending was retarded as fuck
Hey lets tear down the wall seperating the scum of the earth from the sheltered innocent people, what could go wrong?
>hurr durr they had a good night kissed, they are gay
Not this shit again.
Read the LNs, their thoughts for each other are 100% gay by the end
The anime is rushed as fuck, if you want to get into this series just read the LNs.
>More like they ruined a romance with a perfectly fine childhood friend
Shion never liked her in that way.
The homo hints went both ways.
>Shion made a tight fist in his lap.
>I've gotten all these people involved. I'm the one that did it. I can't let myself forget that.
>A hand suddenly reached over to him. It was Nezumi's. It gently pried Shion's fist open, finger by finger, gently, as if toying with it.
>"We're just getting started. Tense up like that, and you won't last."
This part came out of nowhere, I was pleasantly surprised.
They kissed two times
On the lips
Slept on the same bed
Do you think they are straight?
I thought the worst aspect was how cliched the dystopia setting was. Pacing may have been shit but I don't remember it bugging me too much. There were also a lot of plot points that were brought up and then given incomplete treatment or dropped (Yoming in particular got shafted). Maybe the novels were better in that aspect.
Best aspects were the visuals, music, characterization (childhood friend character is actually likeable for once), and actual well done gay romance. Just for the last two it's one of my favorite anime, but if you don't like gay stuff it's not your cup of tea at all.
I thought the author confirmed that Shion and Nezumi weren't gay for each other.
Yes. There are a lot of countries where people kiss each other on the lips as regular kisses. Sleeping on the same bed isn't gay if you just sleep.
In context the kisses are pretty romantic, though. You could argue for them having a romantic friendship as opposed to a straight-up romance, but they're definitely more than friends.
>men can't kiss each other in a friendly way
This only became a thing in the modern day. Before it was often for men to kiss each other.
Girls are often very physical with each other but that's not lesbian
>weren't gay for each other
>casually frenching each other
And which countries would be those? Not to mention the intention behind the kisses was pretty clear. It's not like I'm saying they definitely wanted to fuck but their feelings ,especially Shion's since you can literally read his thoughts inn the novels, were not just friendship.
Not to mention all the filtring from Rar part, Shion obsession with him and how Rat freaks out as soon Shion plans to leave him forever.
Wait wait wait, isn't it the anime about submarine?
I think that there another anime called no.9 or something
There is, but they aren't related at all.
Capped for further reference. I am glad that 2 years after its run, No. 6 is still stunning viewers with its utter heterosexuality.
Well shit, back to searching for the manga I guess
Relieved that it's not gay
That was quite heterosexual.
It's not violence, it's just homo
forgot to mention eve as a selling point
>she wants to fuck
Singing and bees and singing bees.
As you can see here, the childhood friend was supposed to show how the system had fucked everyone heads. You're not supposed to say "I want your sperm now" to someone you love. That's why MC was so close to nature, in contrast
>12 year old
>already wants to fuck
What a cock hungry child. At least she only wants one specific D.
I love this anime. It's one of my favourites.
Lot of people hate the end because it was completely different from the source material due to lack of episodes, but I didn't mind. The anime has a more open end, I like it. The only bad thing is that Nezumi's last line in the anime implies they'll never met again while the novel implied the exact contrary. I don't really care, there's no sequel anyway so it's up to the imagination.
Also, concerning the homo, I have to say even people who don't like that kind of shit probably won't mind it. When I watched it I didn't notice they were overly friendly together until they kissed, seriously. Though I was pretty pure at that time, now I see homo subtext everywhere.
I remember I recommended No.6 to some dude because I thought he'd find it disgusting and leave me alone, but he actually didn't give a shit. And seeing some people won't believe they were actually gay, I guess it's not that homo after all.
>I remember I recommended No.6 to some dude because I thought he'd find it disgusting and leave me alone, but he actually didn't give a shit.
So No. 6 is not an effective friendship deterrent? Good to know.
Does the girl win?
She gets possessed by a bee god and dies
No, gay end
all the girls are wasted in this homo series
He didn't seem like he wanted to go back in Beyond though, more like the opposite. But I agree, it was a nice story despite its shortcomings and no matter how you choose to interpret it was a beautiful relationship.
The resolution of the conflict in the anime was just completely nonsensical.
Other than that, it seemed alright.
>last line in the anime implies they'll never met again
Nah, not this one, I meant Nezumi's "You'll be fine." to Shion.
It basically meant "You don't need me". Though yeah, I had forgotten this.
she straight out says "I want your semen" and he still turns her down.
It was gay yeah but still well done as a romance, the ending was shit and rushed though, like always.
I enjoyed it. So everyone saying it's gay obviously didn't enjoy it for what it was meant to be.
