Nanatsu no Taizai 62
How strong is Arthur?
So that robed being next to Arthur is confirmed for being merlin yes?
>people thought Merlin was the boar
strong enough to give pause to Mel.
Hope he actually ends up being a long-term character with a properly developed faction instead of just "ARTHUR & MERLIN STRONK, no one else."
>No diane and king quality time
>only two strong characters from Camelot
>king and robed figure
>Arthur and obviously Merlin
fuck, they better hint the Knights of the Round soon, or else this screams 'super strong jobber for the demon clan."
This manga never ceases to amuse me with the constant insane power levels.
>Diane probably won't feature much for a few months
Feels bad man.
Expecting Arthur to kick the sin's asses. Called it that this manga would develop into a three pronged battle
Merlin betraying them and joining arthur because she knows about the demon clan plans would make a lot of sense.
Guessing Merlin will be the "straight" Sin member that's always deadly serious.
My penis got hard because of all those armour.
>a) A miracle of the universe
>b) All of the above
That is not my kingu.
wow is it time to get fucking hyped or what ?
>Arthur single handedly wipes out the sins
>is about to finish off the holy knights
>"powerful as ever Arthur... There's someone I want you to meet"
>The chief Holy Knight, Mordred steps into view
And then the universe collapses from the awesome.
>That guy getting whipped by his own plant
>know the charge is being lead by someone who'll counter direct attacks
>put a bunch of people who can only do direct attacks at the front.
>horse armour protects the horse's ears
>the horse is snarling
Why is this manga so awesome?
Dreyfus did nothing wrong, right? The strongest holy knight, his brother was evil motherfucker and that's why he decided to kill him under the pretense of wanting more power, just to get Hendricksen on his side, right?
Haha, oh wow, things really escalated in the last 2 chapters. I'm fucking loving it. And here I was expecting to get a bit downtime fluff after Gowther's intro arc.
For some reason, I rather liked that exchange and the "come at me" attitude of Hendricksen.
He has the Horse Armor DLC. That alone makes him strong as fuck.
It's going to be interesting to see who ends up being the genuine bad guys in this series.
Got most of the spectrum of AD&D alignments going on.
bonus chapter !
So far, eh struck me as a pretty down to earth guy. Either he had a good reason to take out his brother, or he's a "I was weak" type of fallen character. Loving those apparent shades of gray in the various characters.
>please wait 4 months for the tkb
All those fucking knights.
Always find it a bit silly them having massive armies in these manga given how a small handful of powered people would slaughter them.
What the fuck is happening
how does a massive army just SNEAK UP TO YOUR CASTLE
I've been wondering the same, but that's probably Merlin by Arthur's side, so she ain't gotta explain shit.
FUCK YEAH. HE IS HERE.
I stand by what I said. Merlin works for Henricksen and she is the one, on order from Henricksen, who took Elizabeth. She is obviously two-timing him as well. But that ain't merlin perse, It's the girl who learnt everything from Merlin then imprisoned him. That's her sin.
Masked person is prolly Escanor or some totally new character.
What if the hooded person is Lady of the Lake?
Viviana is Merlin. Else, there'd be no reason for Merlin to be a woman.
Was a lot more common than you'd think.
See: Battle of Largs
In the horseback era it's pretty hard to get advance notice of an invading army fast, hence signal fires.
There's the famous networking problem that relates to using horseback messengers:
>you have to send a messenger across enemy territory
>The messenger could be killed on the way
>Only way of knowing if it arrived is if the destination sends a messenger back
>that messenger could also be killed.
Come up with a foolproof way of knowing a message arrived without sending out horsemen until the end of time.
Merlin just teleported King Arthur to outside Holy Knights HQ, that's what happened.
>literally no hints of this besides the name of the country and the existence of a character named Merlin
Hold on tight readers, the author is going in dry
Demon clan revival imminent. Prepare for royal rumble awesomeness.
Oh yeah, Viviane three-timing everyone for Arthur.
I thought there'd lots of place names that were named after Arthur.
I cant wait for the Demon clan to be revived, and shit stomp the Holy Knights, and we get that "this was a huge mistake" reaction
When has "I'm gonna awake and ancient evil to defeat it" ever worked out?
I can only think of Simon Belmont.
It must be the work of some sort of tactical genius.
Pappilon from Buso Renkin creating humonculi and becoming an incredibly powerful immortal being who doesn't need to feed on humans like the other people who tried it?
That army better teleported instantly to that location. You can't tell nobody wouldn't had notice them otherwise.
Well guys, you had your chance.
mfw the author plans for roughly 34 more volumes of this ride.
Yeah the holy knights definitely can't last that long I guess they might just be the first big bads they beat once they have all 7 sins gathered.
>Wants to unseal and fight the demons
>Using the power of demons
>Said power regularly causes people to die or lose control and turn into rampaging monsters
Why are bad guys so stupid?
I'm pretty sure what Mister Goatee said is all bullshit. He most likely IS a demon and just wants to bring back his kind, and now the blood-infused knights are the perfect sleeper agents.
>MFW I remember someone offhandedly mentioning the new king of Camelot named Arthur near the beginning of the manga
I seriously thought it was just a cool little reference. And then this chapter happened.
I thought the same thing. I hope Nakaba keeps bring up Arthurian legends, it's a lot of material to work with.,
next nanastsu no Taizai 63 thread : "HYPE CENTRAL"
How OP would Lancelot be?
>While everyone else are superpowered humans with broken lineages and powers, Lancelot is literally just an ordinary human who got HARD WORK and GUTS
>He kicks everyone's ass just by being better at swordsplay than everyone else
Jesus, if he's as strong as I want him to be, he'll wipe the floor with the Holy Knights and probably individual sins as well.
>and he does it with a piece of a tree branch.
So, Arthur stronger than Mel? What do you guys think?
Almost certainly. Despite the power levels being insane from the start, I don't think anyone really expected him to be the most powerful in the long run
Next chapter title: ARTHUR PENDRAGON
Oh yes, Nakaba. Give me the full course!
Too early to say for sure, but due to his reaction, surely Arthur is a powerful force.
It's the Pendragon crest on his flag too.
Going by this here, he won't be a pushover. And I'd expect him to have Excalibur with him.
It's probably the sword at his hip here. I wonder if it's at the same level as the Sacred Treasures.
I wonder if he screams "ECSU-CALIBAAAA" when he uses it.
I love this mangaka.
what if he doesnt have it yet, or better yet what if its melodois weapon
If King scowl's any harder he's gonna end up looking like Raoh
Was not expecting Arthur to appear in the manga. Fucking hype.
It's time. Dragons/demons are next. Arthur gonna establish his kingdom right here and there.
Will Arthur knock up his sister?
Kodansha, whatever you do, please don't fuck things up by choosing the wrong animation studio.
This HK. This fucking HK.
Stone flicking is an ancient and deadly technique anon, don't make fun of it or else you will face it's terrible power.
Well, there's this from chapter 3. Chekhov's Gun was locked and loaded since the beginning.
Alabaster pls go.
Give it to Hoods, they're the only ones I trust to try and replicate the art style.
>King Arthur show up
Holy shit. Holy shit. I'm so hyped.
Glad to know he's had this planned out well in advance. It's almost like One Piece and Haki, seeming like an asspull until people re-read the start of it.
WAIT A MOMENT
IF ARTHURIAN LEGEND IS UP IN THIS
WHAT ABOUT MORGAN LE FAY
Best adaptation of Athurian legend since the Sam Neil mini-series?
If you haven't seen Merlin btw, go see it, it's amazing.
>seeming like an asspull until people re-read the start of it
I wouldn't call this an asspull, even if he hadn't already planned it.
Yep, I remembered that. But as I said earlier, I just expected it to be an in joke.
Yeah, it's just introducing a character. Not rewriting the concept of power-levels or whatever.
>arthur is a girl
Wouldn't that make people adress Arthur as "Queen"?
That has been done to the death
After all the Type Moon gender fuckery, it would be pretty nice to have Arthur be a baddass dude for a change.
Considering the series theme, this image fits perfectly.
I wonder if Arthur is as strong as a Sin with Sacred Treasure.
If no name stuff like the Sin's equipment is considered "sacred treasure" then Excalibur sure will fucking wreck their shit seven days from sunday.
>inb4 arthur is one shot fodder for the demons
how hard will you drop it?
Going by Arthurian legend, he should be at least capable to do the same feat Meliodas did in chapter 2, when he acquired Excalibur. Then again, most proper holy knights should have been able to do what Meliodas did.
I wouldn't at all. Then again, if there is one thing that this author has built so far, its good will. So if he did Kill off Arthur I'd still trust him.
Just because Excalibur is famous in our world doesn't mean it is so in that world as well.
what is excalibur was melodias sword?
I doubt it. Too much story potential would get abandoned with the round table knights, if Arthur was a jobber.
Then again, the manga is called 7 Deadly Sins, and not Arthur's Merry Adventures, so who knows. Either way, I'm in for the sins, so no hard droppage on my end.
>how does a massive army just SNEAK UP TO YOUR CASTLE
>Carnwennan, or Carnwenhau ("white hilt"), was the dagger of King Arthur in the Welsh Arthurian legends. It is sometimes attributed with the magical power to shroud its user in shadow
>shroud its user in shadow
He might have used his magical dagger and simply hid the presence of the army with it?
I saved that image before there even was a 9gag, or could it be that you're such a newfag that you've completely forgotten that most, if not all of the "memes" that 9gag and reddit uses came from 4chan?
Go back to 9fag yourself boy.
bitches love Ban
I saved this image before there even was a 9gag.
do you think it's acceptable to post here in 2014?
why don't you have a fairy waifu yet?
Shame it's now going to be Gowther x King rather than Ban x king now.
>No King around
>No Diane around
Damn it! But I can't help getting hyped with all dat shit about to hit the fan.
I'm loyal to my King.
"I hear Camelot has a new king, a guy called Arthur" or some such line was uttered by a bar patron in an early chapter.
There is only one king.
Any possibility that Ellie's kidnapper wasn't from Hendricksen's crowd, but one King Arthur's entourage? Hendricksen was merely assuming that his folks have gotten the princess, since the Sins suddenly appeared on his doorstep. Maybe Arthur showed up to get the remaining pieces of the eternal coffin for himself.
>getting baited by retards
How does it feel to be so easily hooked?
>Any possibility that Ellie's kidnapper wasn't from Hendricksen's crowd, but one King Arthur's entourage?
i thought that was pretty obvious
not possible read the page where he hears the sins are coming, he knew elizabeth was coming
I really liked this chapter. It was a really enjoyable read. You don't find one everyday.
What makes you think that Arthur and Meliodas haven't unknowingly bro'd out?
>he knew elizabeth was coming
Not necessarily. He just assumes he has her, from circumstantial evidence. E.g. he sends out knights to capture her, then sees the sins pay him a visit and are mighty pissed. He hasn't gotten official word yet, but thinks one of his knights got lucky. That's why I say it might be Arthur who captured her.
>king author bought his sword instead of getting it from a stone
Why is diane hair not black?
She kinda looks like Estelle from TitS.
so whats in that pillow that he protects with his life?
>yfw shit takes a turn for the worst like in the Arthurian stories
>Why is diane hair not black?
i hate this and the overall coloring so much, not sure if i want an animu
Diane's hair is light brown, not black. Look at some of the colour pages
Surprisingly enough, Diane has brown hair whenever Suzuki does color pages.
It's Chastifol, his Sacred Treasure
am i really that dense or are you joking?
I love it when there are more than two factions and we actually now have four.
Dat giant cleavage. One of the 5 best places to be in the world.
>only 2 years till we see this animated
Who's the fourth?
He's not kidding. Reread the manga.
I would split the HK in the new generation/demon powered and the old generation.
The possibilities in the manga are endless.
Let's make it five when the demons hatch and go on a rampage
>Maybe Arthur showed up to get the remaining pieces of the eternal coffin for himself.
No no no. You're forgetting Ellie's OTHER role. Remember, she's a princess. Technically the princess of two kingdoms, actually.
It's traditional for kings to cement their claim on conquered kingdoms by marrying a princess of the former ruling house.
Fight against Helbram and the girls. Pay attention for fuck's sake.
So is NnT more or less CUHRAZY than Kongou Banchou?
Because Kongou Banchou got pretty crazy.
I saw the whole thing. Only problem I have is that I saw it on what's supposed to be the science fiction channel.
back to /v/ you faggot
I'd say KB still has the crown in that regard, since it's more comedic in it's approach to fights, so Nakaba was able to do awesome, but silly stuff like orbit punches.
Not saying we won't get to see plenty of outrageous stuff in NnT, just not to that extent.
Speaking of official hair colors...
gowther is a hollow
i really hope gowther can change gender
This is the only one I dislike.
that's funny, i dislike almost every hair color except gother's
>i hate this and the overall coloring so much, not sure if i want an animu
I feel the same about akame ga kill
akame ga kill has by far the worst coloring i've ever seen
>gowther's tattoo makes it look like he's wearing a bra
The initial powerlevels of NnT has been way higher, though.
who said she isn't?
He must use assistants given it's a detailed weekly manga and they've been slavedriving him but... how the hell would they do the backgrounds and incidental detail given it's so distinctive
It'd probably be the least suprising plot twist in history that Gowther is a reverse trap
That gender fuckery happened like 16 years ago
>could use shading sheets or fill tools to save time
>decides to do the shading entirely using pen and ink techniques
Love the art
speaking of the art, first i thought it was drawn by Toriyama
The designs are similar in style but he's produces far more vibrant action panels and isn't afraid to have 'messy' panels that stretch and deform characters to emphasize movement.
good someone else thinks so, i thought i was retarded
I also find it noticeable on some characters like Meliodas.
Not so much on more "badass"-looking characters like Helbram
What makes you think he isn't an exile of the Goddess clan or something?
No hint? Read this page
>I heard that some youngster named Arthur became king way down south in Camelot
Hey guys I think there was a page where they mentioned that the king of camelot was someone called Arthur! Does anyone else recall this?
Pretty sure they mentioned a young kid named Arthur in one of the early chapters
>over 30 volumes more of this
I love NnT as much as the next guy but now I'm worried.
Kongou Banchou got super-weird in the last volumes.
And Nanazai is already nearing some really fucking ridiculous powerlevels.
I can't imagine what kind of madness awaits us later
Gowther is a rogue sex-bot. This is pretty obvious.
>Can only reason logically, hinting that his brain isn't all there
>Can change appearance at will
>Has an ability to analyse what it master likes and act in a manner that will please its master
>The Sin of Lust
You think KB got weird? It's like the purest shounen I've ever read.
So reading the oneshot now, seems to have potential.
What season is the anime supposed to air?
No announcement of an anime yet, but with the sales and the potential/intended length it'll probably get one at the end of this year/early next year.
Let's hope it's not an ongoing series, but one with several cours with breaks in between.
>we have to go rescue Elizabeth!
>time to waste a few chapters traveling there, encountering enemies and traps along the way
>no, fuck that we'll just fly
he knows whats up
who is saying they are going to die?
melodias doesnt seem like that type of person
ban is immortal
and its not in square brackets
Ban typically sing-songs his speech.
Arthur is a little girl under all that armor
It's ban being sarcastic, note the musical symbol at the end characteristic of Ban joking around.
If the NnT wikia is right, he does all the art by himself, with his wife helping him occasionally.
Here’s the link: http://nanatsu-no-taizai.wikia.com/wiki/Nakaba_Suzuki
What irks me is that there’s no source. Maybe someone here knows more about it.
I dig his background art. It's nothing hyper detailed, but rather retains a comic look, yet doesn't seem lazy. It's something I'd expect from Bob Ross, if he did manga backgrounds instead of paintings. "Here's a happy little tree and now we add some fluffy clouds...". It sets the mood and general feel of the surroundings.
Also, dat use of strong black and white contrasts, instead of screentone.
I personally love the weight and 'action' in his lines.
He's been wanting to do this series for a looong time, so I think he can pull it off nicely.
>implying rainbow colors aren't the best
Always nice to see an author getting to do a "dream project" and succeeding. At least I hope he will.
So after comparing Arthur's body to the other knights' on horseback, it seems he's actually much smaller than them.
The sins have a really nice relationship. Can't wait for the others to come back.
Or his horse is gigantic.
someone from the giant clan fucked a horse
No, no, just compare his proportions. His legs and arms are shorter on his body compared to the other guys.
Arthur in the original legend became king when he was still young and here
Arthur is called a youngster. I'd say he was a kid.
OR HE INDEED SENT MERLIN DO HIS BIDDING. SAID MERLIN IS TWO-TIMING HIM WITH ARTHUR.
