So just finished watching Shinsekai Yori.
Am I wrong in thinking this had very heavy influenced themes taken from what seems like the Russian Revolution (or Socialist Revolution in general)? From the rapid industrialization, to the putting down of a brutal monarch who was crazy, to the highly dubious methods of advancement, the rhetoric that "everybody is equal" and eventually the "intervention" and then outright conflict between the two different societies.
Squealer also shares one of the names of the major characters of Animal Farm.
Were the analogous themes done on purpose do you think or am I just reading too much into it?
It was influenced by several major revolutions, the French and Russian come to mind.
What always never sat well with me in the show how it instantly sides with the humans and tries to paint the Queerats as monsters with reactionary bullshit spouted by the main human cast that makes no sense. "Oh no they lobotomized the queen!!!" yeah, the queen that was fucking massacring her own people "oh no they are killing people, they are so bad, lets ignore the only reason they reacted was because we tried to exterminate their entire species!".
Kiromaru was the biggest fucking shill ever who was a traitor to his shown people, yet is shown as honorable.
Shows how sycophantic the Japanese still are to their monarchy.
>it instantly sides with the humans and tries to paint the Queerats as monsters
Are you sure you watched the same show I did?
>Kiromaru was the biggest fucking shill ever who was a traitor to his shown people, yet is shown as honorable.
Actually he was quite pragmatic and loyal to his own colony. Too bad he couldn't see the big picture.
>Too bad he couldn't see the big picture.
He knew Queerats would end up losing one day, and he wanted to save his colony and queen at the very least.
>He knew Queerats would end up losing one day
But with Messiah (and other abducted children few years later) on Queerat's side they would be unstoppable.
Only problem was Kiroumaru and Squeeler were enemies so Kiroumaru's colony would be wiped out alongside the cantus users.
>What always never sat well with me in the show how it instantly sides with the humans and tries to paint the Queerats as monsters
The anime is mostly from Saki's point of view. All the events related to the queen, be it their first meeting when she disgusted Saki, or the time she had been put in a cage and Saki empathized with her, happened before Saki realized how humans had wronged queerats. And if Saki sees them as monsters, then of course the anime will show a similar point of view. It's only after she realizes the queerats' struggles that you start understanding them. You just need to watch the reactions of most of us here when watching the anime, until the five last episodes or so, nobody sided with Squealer. Everyone was like "Kiroumaru's a bro" and "Fuck this piece of shit Yakomaru". Even after the end, there were people who still thought humans were right, even with that tribunal scene that depicted them horribly.
>Kiromaru was the biggest fucking shill ever who was a traitor to his shown people, yet is shown as honorable.
>Shows how sycophantic the Japanese still are to their monarchy.
Just because those stuff happen in the anime, it doesn't mean they are shown as an example. It's more like a critic, you see how they act and you can make your own opinion on it. It's obvious you're not supposed to root for those assholes.
Its more about feudalism than modern western revolutions.
Enjoy your pipedream, librard.
What makes no sense to me is why Yakomaru gave up instantly once they kill the "fiend".
I thought it implied that Yakomaru had already kidnapped many babies to raise and had them shipped off all over Japan to be trained.
That was basically Gurren Lagann without robots or space.
It wouldn't be the first anime to do so.
>I'm going to state the obvious for the oblivious so I can feel smart.
Enjoy being an intellectually lazy intelligent person who gets off on cultural slumming and having /a/ pander to your ego. I am sure it is very satisfying for you. It's practically masturbation.
>had already kidnapped many babies
>and had them shipped off all over Japan to be trained
When did this happened? They snatched the babies when they attacked, probably just hid them inside their colony to deal with them after the fighting is over.
Also Squealer didn't really have a chance after Messiah died. It was him against 2 cantus users.
That simply isn't true, if the entire island had learned of the queer rats bullshit they could have atom bombed the entire race with ease and dumped a thousand tainted cats to chase down the fiends.
It was a shitty strategy, should have used the glowing horse to find a way to make humans sterile and started lacing their water supply.
It takes years to raise a false fiend and his entire army was already mobilized in the field.
Is it just me, or have there been similar threads like this one for the last 10 days, while there haven't been much of them in the last half year or so.
Make me so mad all those faggots that didn't watch this while it was airing and were just trolled by the URRR GAY SHIT URRR and now they wanna have multiple threads a day for this
Actually SSY threads have been frequent all year since it aired, but yes I also think the last 2 weeks have had more that say a month ago.
I thought the same thing.
Arise, ye Queerats from your slumber,
Arise, ye prisoners of want.
For reason in revolt now thunders,
and at last ends the age of cant!
Away with all your superstitions,
Servile masses, arise, arise!
We'll change henceforth the old tradition,
And spurn the dust to win the prize!
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
Unites the human race.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
Unites the human race.
Because without the fiend he had no chance against the kamisamas, and he only had a few days after taking those babies.
>"Oh no they lobotomized the queen!!!"
Keep in mind that they were kids at that point. Kids which really didn't look down on the queerats. They were different, and the kids were curious. The fact that they were shocked to see the queen lobotomized only goes to show that they didn't think of the queerats as lowly animals.
Hey /a/, what's with the spike of Shinsekai Yori threads? It aired last year in like Spring or whatever.
He would've needed at least ten years for another queerat-friendly cantus user to mature. In that time, every queerat would've been dead already.
I can't remember having seen SSY threads very frequently, but I decided to watch a few weeks the series after dropping it. I made a thread shortly after finishing it, and after that, I've seen them pop up every other day. Maybe we've just had a series of people picking it up and finding it interesting recently? That was the case with me at least.
SSY will remain one of the best anime in the past decade.
>they could have atom bombed the entire race with ease
No. Remember, it's hundreds maybe even thousand years after the old civilization fell. Without maintenance the old WMD silos and storage facilities are nothing more then radioactive garbage dumps. Kiroumaru was already looking for WMDs in vain.
>and dumped a thousand tainted cats
They don't have them. Raising them would take years. And even if they could somehow magically clone them, hundreds of thousands of rats with guns supported by walking nukes >>> thousands of tainted cats. Cats also mostly work against scared children. The ones Saki's parents managed to let out didn't do much against the Messiah.
>It was a shitty strategy, should have used the glowing horse to find a way to make humans sterile and started lacing their water supply.
Even if that somehow worked and that's a big IF since the rats with their primitive firearms are far from the tech level for that kind of research how do you think cantus users would react once it becomes obvious? You think there is a hole deep enough for rats to hide in while the cantus users wipe systematically the whole species?
Shinsekai Yori has a pretty interesting world and pretty decent political themes and allegory.
It really brings back memories of 12 kingdoms for me for some reason.
The real spike in threads was 5 month ago. Also /a/ kept pushing it as a hidden gem just like we promised.
It got mentioned in AOTY threads because it ended last winter, and that season was mostly shit.
It's everybody's fault they can't handle a gay scene for like one episode.
Bunch of homos.
Type SSY in the archive and youll see its frequent.
SSY will remain one of the worst selling anime in the past decade.
Thank god. Fuck that NTR freakshow.
The humans could've wiped out all remaining queerats when the messiah was in Tokyo. When the Messiah returned, they'd pack all their tainted cats on her, with a few willing cantus users backing them up, and everything would've been fine and dandy.
Your shit taste is showing.
Japs have shit taste, whats new?
>could've wiped out all remaining queerats when the messiah was in Tokyo.
No. By that time cantus users already panicked and fled. Will find cap but Nobunagun is starting so it will take some time.
If I could rewatch an anime for the first time, it'd probably be this one. I'd say it was the atmosphere and world building that had me hooked since episode one.
I think I need to rewatch it. Watching it weekly was a rollercoaster where I nearly dropped it every week until episode 18 or so. There should really be a 4koma edit for this.
>Your shit taste is showing
Those are facts though you degenerate monkey.
My torrent finished five minutes ago. I have almost no knowledge about the series except that there is NTR and SQUEALER DID NOTHING WRONG
I am hyped
I can't think of an anime ending that made me angrier than Shinsekai Yori. Not because it was bad or anything, quite the opposite. I felt genuinely bad for Squealer. He got the shittest deal ever and was 100% right.
The fact that you need to "fix" my post with a negative fact, and the nature of the fact -implies- that you have shit taste.
Not liking this horrible pile of shit is hardly bad taste.
Leave this thread, spoilers are everywhere.
Fly, you fool.
BD sales pls. 500? 468?
Keep at it, you'll get bored eventually.
>first american emperor.jpg
I still get annoyed reading SSY threads and seeing people say "well its ok to kill the fagrats because they aren't the humens" or similar things.
Like, negro, think about the situation: if you were teleported into that place the psyker top brass would LITERALLY see no difference between you and the queerrats, except that you're a blatant danger to them because they can't directly kill you. So instead they'd send the cats to eat you.
>cantus users already panicked and fled
Are you serious? All it takes is one vengeful cantus user to kill every last queerat.
But, on the other hand, the querats were in fact alive when Saki and Satoru returned, so I guess nobody thought of that.
His punishment is equal to getting recognition from the humans. It is everything that Yakumaru wanted.
>Insisting fictional animals are human
>Begin post by comparing people to animals
Shut the fuck up, peasant.
Nobody are serious when they say that. It was necessary to kill the queerats because they would've killed every last human if they didn't.
No, fuck you.
>killed every last human if they didn't.
You say that nobody is serious but there you imply it again - that the brainwashed, indoctrinated, and genetically modified psykers are any more human than the queerrats.
The only thing Saki's people have going for them is that they look kawaii, only the queerrats act remotely like people and would develop accordingly if the psykers didn't genocide them every time they invent a telophone or something.
Calling queerrats people in the safe post you made calling anon a nigger.
>Kiromaru was the biggest fucking shill ever who was a traitor to his shown people
Yeah, no. He saw that helping humans was the only way for his people to survive.
That war was impossible to win. Squealer was fighting just one tiny town.
>any more human than the queerrats
Seeing that queerats are an entirely different species than humans, and only share the amount of chromosomes with the actual humans, the queerats are definitely not humans.
>only the queerrats act remotely like people and would develop accordingly if the psykers didn't genocide them every time they invent a telophone or something
That's why they had to be contained. The humans in Shin Sekai Yori know what happens when people get free reign. They kill and go to war. Exactly like the queerats. They also know that the world is fucked up because of cantus, and suspect that any suficiently advanced civilization will develop cantus of their own.
On another note. Wiping a colony was the harshest punishment. It wasn't something people did on a whim. There were even designated squads who were authorized to deal with such situations. Don't come here and say that humans killed queerats for fun. Because they didn't That's not how their society is.
>Are you serious?
Yes. Watch ep.25 from 9:00. Saki talks about what happened from the time they left with Kiroumaru.
Squealer didn't follow immediately. He dealt with resisting cantus users first, burned Temple of purity and got info on Saki there. Then he started following her team.
>All it takes is one vengeful cantus user to kill every last queerat.
Queerats while much weaker managed to kill cantus users using surprise attacks and various mutated beasts.
Cantus users still need to rest / sleep / eat and rats outnumber them greatly.
Everyone who saw it, indeed. Remember that there are seven villages, and only a small minority of the people in the district would be able to see his corpse. But as I said. Nobody wiped the queerats while Saki and Satoru were gone, so nobody thought of that solution.
This picture is so cute.
Those two ending together really made the end for me. It was like, even if they don't change the world or make it a better place, and if all their friends and family are dead because of this terrible society, they still can be happy together.
Wow, you just reaffirm our suspicions.
Squealer Did Nothing Wrong
>and only share the amount of chromosomes with the actual humans
I'm willing to bet their genome is extremely similar to human's, probably still moreso than chimps.
>Wiping a colony was the harshest punishment. It wasn't something people did on a whim.
Kiroumaru specifically said otherwise - any small deviation from the draconian laws instituted by the psykers could result in devastating purges for the offending colony.
True, the community in charge of deciding queerrat genocides doesn't make these decisions for fun but they do perform them out of paranoia, and if I was a queerrat I wouldn't really find one more comforting than the other.
I watched SSY recently. I liked it, but one thing somewhat confuses me.
I realize that death feedback kills you if you kill another human, but why nobody actually sacrificed his life to take out the pseudo-fiend? Even if they can't literally blow up another person because of the attack inhibition or some other shit, they should still be able to kill others with something like dropping a huge rock on them. I am pretty sure Shisei was capable of making a rock of such size that Maria's child wouldn't be able to stop it from falling. It would cost Shisei his life, but he would save the humanity. Not a bad deal, considering that he died anyways.
Also, Sqealer did something wrong. He failed.
Who knows how that instinct feels. Maybe if you even think about murder you feel really bad.
>I realize that death feedback kills you if you kill another human, but why nobody actually sacrificed his life to take out the pseudo-fiend?
Goddammit every goddamn motherfucking shitting thread
>Seeing that queerats are an entirely different species than humans, and only share the amount of chromosomes with the actual humans, the queerats are definitely not humans.
Did you not understand what the chromosome thing meant? The queerats are genetically modified humans. So sure, they're not physically human anymore, but their conscience, intelligence and all the rest are still there.
>The humans in Shin Sekai Yori know what happens when people get free reign. They kill and go to war. Exactly like the queerats.
>Slavery is okay, because if you don't enslave people enough they'll kill you!
Great logic. There wouldn't have been any problem if humans and queerats had lived in peace. It wasn't possible, of course, since queerats are numerous and humans very few, but that goes to show how inevitable the war was. No people lets itself get ruled over for centuries long, there'll always be a revolution at some point, you can't blame the queerats for wanting freedom.
Not 100% SSY related, but thought some of you might enjoy a demo reel of one of the main animators on SSY.
It's only natural, though. I am not sure if it actually is, but it certainly looks like a major plot hole.
As far as I remember doing anything with the intent of killing someone who would trigger your death feedback is impossible. If you try before actually killing someone you'll still be affected (by fainting etc)
The only case where killing someone would be possible if you didn't either intend or notice it. It will still affect you if you find out you killed someone afterwards. (hence why the fiend could kill Kiromaru but died when he/she found out)
I watched the show back when it aired so I'm not quite sure if this is how it worked or if this is everything we know.
>I am pretty sure Shisei was capable of making a rock of such size that Maria's child wouldn't be able to stop it from falling.
If I was an esper I'd move myself instead of trying to deflect/break such huge rock.
This is why I hate the goddamn anime.
The novel explains this clearly. The anime does it visually and briefly with allusions to it, but doesn't shove it in your face.
Nobody found it painfully dumb that no one tried to take out Maria's daughter with their power and dying in the process rather than taking a side trip to Tokyo were they all could get killed easily? In the end they had to use Kiroumaru to do just that. Those cantus users are such fragile and selfish princesses. Saki going Jeanne d'Arc at the right time was really fucking convenient too.
>why nobody actually sacrificed his life to take out the pseudo-fiend
Killing a human with cantus would probably take at least 30 seconds. If their intention is to kill a human, they'd probably start convulsing within 10 seconds, and die in the following hour.
Something like that.
>If I was an esper I'd move myself instead of trying to deflect/break such huge rock.
They explain in class that flying is an advanced skill. Maria's son was a total amateur at controlling his PK.
You see Maria doing it, but she just had the talent for it.
>Killing a human with cantus would probably take at least 30 seconds
It sure didn't take this long killing rats or when the kid was killing random people.
Why would it take 30 seconds? Humans die easily, in fact.
How was it explained in the novel then?
No, even Squealer win the war.
Kiromaru's colony will be forced to join Squealer's and the queen of Kiromaru's will be paralyzed by Squealer.
In the end, he want to save his mother.
By the way, Have anyone read the novel??
The novel is undoubtedly better than the anime, if you are interested to know more about the world building, should check it out.
You can't go for the 1:1 trade, the combined brainwashing and genetic conditioning is designed to kill you before you can even go through with it. Its how their society can still exist despite every Joe and Jane carrying around psychic WMDs.
Now, they could have gone for the "trick someone into killing the fiend" route, since that can work. Some of the causalities from the rat revolution were caused because cantus users killed other cantus users by accident, and then died from it after realizing their mistake. However, Squeeler likely anticipated this and countered it just by having a constant lookout for cantus users.
You don't need to fly, just push yourself really hard in some direction away from the falling rock. Landing might hurt a bit but it definitely beats being squished.
I need to know. Are there any actual humans left on Earth?
>The novel is undoubtedly better than the anime
Considering the anime spent half of the time drowning you in Maria drama or amateurish eyes close up shots I can't say I'm surprised.
They're in Australia.
Maybe. Just not in Japan.
Fuck you. Fuck you all. Squealer was worse than Pol Pot.
>Implying that there are humans in straya now
You fucking boguns never cease to amuse me.
Cantus users wiped out the old civilization, changed the rest into rats.
Attack inhibition is something that keeps humans from targeting other humans with killing intent.
>He was right
>Being this dumb
I can't think of an anime character who made me angrier than Squealer, that filthy little rat shit.
I want to read the novel, but there are no official translations. I don't read japanese after all. It's a shame. It's one of the few novels I've really wanted to read recently.
In Japan, though. We don't get any information about the outside world.
>putting down of a brutal monarch who was crazy
Nikolai II was neither brutal nor crazy. He was incompetent, but not evil.
And that says something with grade-A objects of hate like Griffith. What Squealer did made me feel physically ill. I'm serious.
From what I remember, the novel did not mention about the western world in present time.
But the village get in touch with other village in korea and china at the end of the story.
Griffith is a glorious bastard and too charismatic to be truly hated. I look forward to see his next appearance.
Squealer though, all I wanted was to see him splattered across the walls/pavement as soon as possible so the horror could end.
There are two things at play here, the 攻撃抑制 (inhibition to attack)and the 愧死機構(suicide mechanism). Both of these are built into the DNA.
The inhibition DNA is modeled after wolves. Being that fighting amongst each other is highly dangerous, they're very reluctant to fight amongst each other. Except it's even stronger in the genetically modified humans.
As for the Suicide DNA, If they even think that they harmed another human (intentional or not), the DNA takes over and autopilots the PK and entirely stop or otherwise interfere with your body's functions until you stop, you die, or the other person dies (you die instantly then). If you pay attention, you'll see that before Saki was allowed to enter the school system, she met a monk. The monk tested that her DNA mechanisms preventing harming other humans was working properly by claiming/acting that saki was hurting him, to which saki cried that she wasn't doing anything, this was enough to make saki start feeling excruciating pain.
The other monk that you see pre-timeskip that was going to hand over saki and crew to the adults also caused this mechanism to start taking effect because the mutant queerats looked almost human from a distance.
TL;DR, you can't just fucking hero yourself into killing fiend, it's genetic engineering that prevents them from even attempting to attack. It's not just death feedback.
Yes, if you aren't afraid of consequences, you can kill yourself as a regular human. But these people can't do it even if they aren't afraid of the consequences (see Kaburagi's fight)
I still hate him.
Saved for future use. Mods please sticky.
>disgusting novelfag keep shitting on the anime but doesn't help to translate the novel.
and we're talking about japanese here, they will more than happy to just kill themselves to save their village, that is taken into account in the story
>DURR HURR KAMIKAZE IS IN THEIR BLOOD
You must be murikkkan
Fuck you Japan for ignoring this great series
This. History is written by the victors.
A-1 Pictures have the greatest responsibility for making this anime look shit
Does it matter? It's not like there would be S2 or something if this sold 80FRT.
SSY was pretty fucking great but at this point I think I've already forgotten most of the major plot points already, but I do remember myself enjoying the show a lot.
The ending however was a tad bit disturbing to me, especially how Squealer was punished.
This series has a high budget though. To be honest, I am surprised that they made this anime this good looking. For a 2 cour series I mean.
SSY was an inconsistent production, but it still had a fair amount of well-made episodes. I'd say the director did a good job overall. Not perfect, but considering it's his first series it's a fine showing.
It's a best selling novel
Que? The novel won an award and an 26 episodes anime adaptation came 4 years after. If you want to fling shit then fling it at the western book publishers for not translating it and bringing it over to the west.
Thank god for the effort they put into the last episode. It was glorious.
English release of the novel when
>If they even think that they harmed another human (intentional or not)
Then why it didn't work when they used cats or queerats to murder children?
Visual confirmation is seemingly required.
Learning japanese by yourself would be faster.
I am very curious about how many people in percentage know japanese in /a/.
They are better at deluding themselves than common anon.
So you could close your eyes and kill random people.
>TL;DR, you can't just fucking hero yourself into killing fiend
If I remember correctly, in the past some doctor killed fiend by injecting him with poison.
This is a massive, massive flaw with the world that if you think about makes everything come crashing down. If they have genetic engineering at that level, able to control behavior and make people into ratmen. the main factor driving the world to be like it is, telekinetic children who wreck shit, makes absolutely no sense. Instead of modifying them to follow Japanese beliefs on homosexuality being a phase and dying if they harm someone, they could just make them not telekinetic.
>inb4 that's not how it works you little shit
>If I remember correctly, in the past some doctor killed fiend by injecting him with poison.
No. Doctor gave the fiend a flu shot or something. It was the GILF who mixed the poison in. Doctor didn't know.
They cannot target without sight
Actually about a month ago I posted something like this on /a/ as soon as I had finished watching it, the next day someone made the same thread and the days after that. I didn't pay attention but I guess it's still happening.
OP is right btw.
Are you stupid? What would they gain from losing their powers?
Cantus requires mental images, so you still kinda have to "see" them get killed if you kill them with cantus.
They couldn't find the source of cantus as far as I remember. I don't think it was as simple as a genetic mutation.
No, the doctor did not mixed the poison in, he just "forgot" to dilute the medicine "accidentally"
Yeah, watching it left a sick feeling in my stomach and you described exactly why. I don't if the author is brilliant or awful, but I hate him.
What humanity gained from acquiring powers?
War that nearly wiped humanity, Queerats, huge monsters, faggotry and child-killing society.
You should watch the film Lesson of the Evil which is written by the same author.
I would make you better
Doctor didn't 'forgot' anything. After examining the fiends throat he asked Tomiko to get him antibiotics. She mixed some shit together and doctor injected it. From his nervous look he might have guessed what she's done, or it might just been the stress from sitting so close to a walking genocide machine.
>This series has a high budget though
Still, it doesn't mean you can't kill a fiend.
As absurd as it may sound, killing intent is not even necesessary to kill.
As was mentioned above, you can trick people into killing a fiend. Like one person sights a fiend , and tells another person to shoot some large rocks at immense speed there. The guy thinks he is just killing squeerats, but in fact he will be killing a fiend. Death feedback won't even get him, because there will be no killing intent towards a human being all along.
Also, Kiroumaru proposed destroying the tunnels to bury Squealer and the Messiah with themselves. It means that cantus users actually can kill other humans with indirect means, doesn't it?
Lastly, they could have brainwashed a guy into believing he is not killing a human when attacking a fiend. The messiah didn't get any feedback when killing humans just because of self-conviction, so it should have worked. Knowin g that they were advanced enough to rewrite memories, it wouldn't be difficult for them to do such brainwashing in one day.
Just confirmed with the novel.
The doctor dilute the potassium with distilled water to a deadly level and injected to the walking genocider.
Nothing to do with Tomiko
>dilute potassium with water
They are brainwashed.
Actually, You can say, the concept "killing a human", does not exist in normal human's mind.
potassium power into distilled water
Sorry, not potassium, it is actually Kalium(カリウム)
>Sorry, not potassium, it is actually Kalium
Pottasium and Kalium are the same thing, the latter is the Latin word that is not used in English now.
But the problem is, pottasium reacts explosively with water. You can't just go and mix them and inject them.
Maybe it was pottasium hydroxide?
Then they've changed it in anime. It starts in Ep.12 at 9:00.
It was probably Potassium chloride, the stuff they use to execute prisoners.
potassium react with acid explosively but not water
Actually you are right, The novel said 塩化カリウム, which is potassium chloride
> to the putting down of a brutal monarch who was crazy
Do you swallow all of the Soviet propaganda like cum?
No, Tomiko was asked to take some diluted antibiotics by the doctor while the doctor did the execution by himself
Except it does.
Oh yeah? Well if I put a banana in water will it explode?
You can bet the guy won't direct anything for a while.
Can we all agree that SSY had an amazing ost? Too bad they kept using the same tracks over and over again but at least they were good.
Can anyone post the best 4chan banner?
Shouldn't the DF kick in?
It's not just letting lose the cats. It's intentionally and knowingly injecting lethal shit into the being standing right in front of you.
It had a very nice OST for sure. And yeah, the directing didn't go beyond hammering the same tracks over and over again.
"injecting" is not a lethal action
and did not get the subject instant death
I guess these weaken the 攻撃抑制 (inhibition to attack)
nevertheless 愧死機構(suicide mechanism) will activate after the subject is dead.
search the archive, it was posted in pretty much this same thread yesterday or the day before that
If anyone interested in the novel.
>it starts right at the homo part
>Saki imagining Shun and Satoru 69ing
> The sight of their penises thrusting violently reminded me of minoshiro mating.
Saki got some experience watching minoshiro mating.
>I flushed just seeing this and started running my hands over myself unconsciously.
>Then, as though handling a small animal, he gently began rubbing Shun’s penis.
>handling a small animal,
Are there any mollusks later?
Maybe in Saki and Maria scene.
UTW BD release fucking when?
No one bought the BDs so there are no BDs to rip.
Raws have been available for ages. UTW released batch up to episode 16 seven months ago. Seven fucking months. It can't be so hard.
Thanks for that. I wish there was a translation of the novel that I could buy.
Translator need to do some qc on the episodes since the studio change stuffs, from utw site.
Man you can really see Satoru's feeling in this. Poor kid was in love so hard.
He didn't watch the show. Don't make the same mistake as this anon did.
They did treat queerats badly, but they also feared their own children. They then went on and did shit that was in their best interest. The ending gave you a sense that 'wow, that's fucked up on human's part, but I can see why it was done that way'. Doesn't mean the viewer things is right, but the point was doing whats right and whats in ones best interests are not always the same thing.
>QCing 9 episodes for 7 months
I don't think so Tim.
Some one tell me, why スクィーラ(su ku ii ra) is translated as queerats???
Wut? Its that guy name, squealer
Sukuiira is Squealer you dolt.
Queerats are Bakenezumi, I don't know the kanjis but that's basically a mix of "monster" and "rat". UTW used Queerat because it sounded good I guess, it's a pretty good translation.

Queerat: 化けネズミ／バケネズミ (bake nezumi)
When Saki and Satoru spent the night in the igloo while searching for Mamoru and Marie, Satoru starts to describe two theories as to where the power behind their cantus comes from. The first was the simplest: like every other power source (aside from geothermal), it originates from the sun.
But Saki didn't let him say the second theory. What would it have been?
Nano machines, son
spin off anime with ninjas fighting mad cantus user emperors when???
Why did the humans even allow the rats to live in the first place?
slave work son.
But why get slaves when you can use magic.
Work distracts from being a bonobo.
using magic makes you tired.
why do you use car,bus or bicycle when you can walk?
why do you eat to be alive when you can die and be free?
why do you like free gifts when you could buy it yourself?
why do you use wikipedia/internet when you could go to the library and real expert to get information?
why do you sleep when your body gonna fall asleep when tire enough?
>Squealer Did Nothing Wrong
I never thought of the story as a retelling of animal far or the Russian Revolution. That's very cleaver. The most frequent comparisons I've seen are with either Brave New World and Canticle for Lebowitz.
However, I thought the story line owed a lot to H.G. Well's, The Time Machine. I just made a thread about it like a dumb ass. But I'll paste the comparisons below to see what you guys think:
WARNING! Major [spoilers] below!:
While not completely the same, the two story's plots and settings parallel each other in major ways. I think Yusuke Kishi (author of the book the anime was based on) owes something to Wells's master piece:
I find the godlike Cantus users similar to the aristocratic Eloi in Wells's work. Both groups live in small, Utopian societies that initially appear peaceful. On the other hand, the Queerats are like the subterranean Morlocks. Both the Morlocks and Queerats appear to be slaves to their respective Utopian societies, but the truth is later revealed to be much more complicated.
'From The New World' takes place 1000 years in the future. Similarly, The Time Machine's main action takes place in the future. Both societies are post-apocalyptic, with the ruins of our present civilization playing important roles in the story line.
Most importantly, both TTM and SSY each have two separate races who share modern humans as their common ancestor. There are two different lines of evolution; one leading to beautiful-almost divine-beings, the other line leading to ugly subhuman laborers.
I find the similarities uncanny. Of course, many anime have done remakes of classic stories ('Samurai 7' comes to mind), so this in no way detracts from what is an incredible story in its own right.
That makes sense, also spoilertags are a thing you know.
i used one.
You forgot to use the end tag, it seems.
