I Demand All Of /a/ Read This!
Tell me more.
- The art is freaking incredible
- The story seems decent
- And all my favorite characters are there
Oh and Shinji isn't a fucking pussy...
That sounds really lame.
He wasn't a pussy, he was a child.
And Asuka's there too!...With whip action!
need summary in order to be interested
well now he's a man!
This is so trash and disgusting. Honestly.
Cast of Evangelion fight human sized angels with guns and whips n shit.
Sounds awesome. Post more.
It has Kaworu what more do you need...
This is a bunch of contrived bullshit. It took something enjoyable like Eva that can make you RAGE, BAWW, and lulz in one sitting and gutted it into a generic crapfest that somehow makes LESS sense than the original.
And you managed to make this claim based only on the first 4 chapters of the story?
butthurt mindfuck fan...
What so "enjoyable" about watching a 14 year old boy cry in the corner while the world ends?...
1. They're at a catholic school with a secret base underneath it where chosen children and secret organization members disguised as students and faculty wage a war against monsters that possess people and want to wipe out humanity.
-Nice setting. Except not.
2. There is a yggdrasil tree in the base and they need to kill angels and steal their cores to support it so that their world's wave function doesn't quantum voip.
-Well that took care of the motivation. No doubt this will continue for volumes until a small twist involving what exactly the yggdrasil tree and cores are is revealed near the end.
3. Some disembodied voice in the base gives him some glowing capsule that he absorbs, allowing him to summon a personification of his own power. So he basically has a soul gun.
-lol now you have power which can increase with your state of mind so if you rage hard enough you can win any battle.
4. There's less morbid gravity and more high school drama. Not to mention development has been greatly reduced due to Shinji starting out as less of a pussy, Rei starting out with a bit of emotion, Kowaru showing up from the very beginning, and Asuka being less overtly bitchy.
-I don't see any of them being able to grow very much from where they already are unless they go in a completely different direction from the original, yet somehow I only foresee archetypal progression from this point.
I was going to dignify this with a serious response but it should be already be pretty obvious to everybody with half a brain that nobody would ever greenlight the production of an entire series composed of nothing but footage of a boy cryin in a corner.
And this is a problem why?...
Look I didn't like the original Eva due to the shitty end and pussy ass hero who cried every 5 minutes...Yet do do you see me trolling it?
LOL, Shoujo NGE ...
yet it smells of shounen...
>Yet do do you see me trolling it?
>shitty end and pussy ass hero
And the ending was good both in the series (yay instrumentality!) and in the movie (everybody is tang unless they don't want to be!).
And to be honest the majority of Shinji's time is spent moping and angsting, rather than crying. Is that worse than hot blooded? Who can say.
It made no fucking since what so ever to me which is why this alternative seems like a fresh new idea and even if you don't like dosen't mean others won't.
Neo Bleach Renkingelion seems fresh to you?
better then the Mindfuck Mecha Version...Yea!
One and three kinda sounds like Persona 3.
why dose everyone keep saying that!?
What exactly was so "mindfuck" about Eva that everybody keeps mentioning? Up until the ending it was basically cyborg mecha fighting giant monsters, and during the ending it was just the end of the world as we know it.
yet Kaworu and Shinji makes it smell like soft-boy-love
because it's true...
Something seems a bit off with all this...
Its serialized in Azuka, its shoujo.
The fact that it didn't make a lick of sense...
Someone's been playing Wild Arms 4.
but it's shounen action...
you can pretend it's shonen until the gay sex happen
right...fuck you I'm pushing Shinji x Rei!
EVA...TIAR-wait... GUN... ACTION!
So what was this LOL "deeper meaning" you got form the original series
The ultimately futility of the human condition, if you're that curious. Which you're not, so stop asking.
Yea waaaaay too deep for me...
You don't need to extrapolate some sort of deep philosophical meaning from a show to pay attention to the plot. At least Eva explains more or less everything important if you're paying attention, unlike other series which are STILL enjoyable even if you can't understand what is going on or why what went on happened in the first place.
This anon personally didn't mind the mindfucks and what not but what I didn't like was how none of the characters changed at all in the end.
Shinji: Still king of EMO who yes cried to much for my taste.
Rei: Still a soulless doll who followed every command without question.
Asuka: Still a total bitch who only gave a damn about herself.
Kaworu: Still...oh yea DEAD!
Nothing was changed or resolved so it sucked in my eyes anyway...
Overall, this isn't TERRIBLE or anything.
Well it's not exactly FANTASTIC either.
i refuse to read/watch anything else eva related. im so fucking sick of bad ends. can't take it.
actually, for that matter, im not watching anything made by gainax until they stop killing off all their cool characters. too depressing.
>1. They're at a catholic school with a secret base underneath it where chosen children and secret organization members disguised as students and faculty wage a war against monsters that possess people and want to wipe out humanity.
>-Nice setting. Except not.
Lol, Persona 3 Rip-Off.
Yea i got that same vibe from it too and I believe if they keep this plot reminiscent of Persona 3, this could turn into a fairly nice story, so I’ll keep reading it.
Yes, until the plot goes off a cliff ...
Serious, NGE is a brain fuck and a brain tease ... its idiots that keep licking its balls that made Anno making the one of finest example of trolling that is EoE.
EoE is epic trolling but NGE faggots still fail to get it ..
So Asuka will be Mitsuru huh?
I liked it because Shinji's confusion, sorrow, and resentment resonated with how I or any normal kid thrust into that sort of situation might feel. I know we like to think, "fuck yeah, I get to pilot a giant robot, what's not to like!?" but in real life you would be putting your LIFE on the line fighting giant monsters all for some shitty father who never loved you and a psycho bitch who only hurts you inside a crazy cyborg thing that is connected to your MIND. Seeing him cry and get angry evokes more emotions within me than if he were to do something like... mmmm... oh here's a good example: if he were to strike a pose pointing towards the sky and make outrageous claims about how he's going to beat the odds no matter what!
And while I will assert that everybody in Eva undeniably changed somehow if you look at their initial state compared to their final state, progression is not always about change. There is infinitely more to be found within their struggles against their individual fates and issues. Shinji was still emo? Sure, but it was still interesting seeing him wrack his brain over what he should do and whether or not he should try to change and what sort of change he should do even if he could. Rei was still bland? Okay, but it I definitely felt something tugging at my heart as we got to see a glimpse into how a soul less clone might go about trying to realize her own humanity or lack thereof. Asuka was still a selfish bitch? Well personally I don't agree with that at all, but you didn't get anything out of seeing how much she fought tooth and nail against her destiny of being lost and forgotten without anybody by her side?
Am I rambling? Yeah. But seriously maybe you just don't like downbeat stories is all.
I know, I know I've let you down
I've been a fool to myself
I thought that I could
live for no one else
But now through all the hurt and pain
Its time for me to respect
the ones you love
mean more than anything.
So with sadness in my heart
I feel the best thing I could do
is end it all
and leave forever
whats done is done, it feels so bad
The director's edit of this is pretty good but still terribly depressing if you listen too hard...
