Why did all mention of this series immediately cease as soon as it ended?
When it was on-going, there were hourly threads, with elaborate charts explaining why you'd be a sap to not watch this series. I held off, waiting for all the episodes to come out. They finally did, but then I come to /a/, and it's as if any record of this anime has been erased from time.
Was the finale that bad or something?
No, seriously. It's unnatural for a series with as big a following as this to suddenly fall off the map like this.
A yamato thread without ass? Let's fix that.
Dude just look at /a/, if the series isn't currently airing, then you are sol unless it is about little girls with yuri undertones, those fags cant get enough of posting their fantasies over and over.
Great...more anime to give a try when i'm backed up to hell already. If i do like it, thanks!
>then you are sol unless it is about little girls with yuri undertones, those fags cant get enough of posting their fantasies over and over.
This makes me sad.
/a/ wasn't like this five years ago.
Yes it was. Fuck off.
I loved Yamato 2199. I don't want to talk about it every fucking day like some spastic eva fanboy. Kill yourself.
>Yes it was. Fuck off.
No, it wasn't. The Endless Yurifag Summer is extremely recent. Back then, /a/ talked about good shows even after they'd stopped airing, such as Code Geass and Spice and Wolf.
>Was the finale that bad or something?
Yes. Throw the last 5 or so episodes in the dumpster and the series becomes actually good.
Strike Witchers was longer than 5 years ago, that fanbase has been posting threads practically every damn day since. You are full of shit.
>code geass and spice and wolf
Like I said, kill yourself.
magically revive to save love interest cough
>it's unbelievable a device with the power to restore an entire planet's ecosystem can revive one life.
Yamato is a great show but there really isn't much to discuss about it.
Even the best girl is too obvious to discuss.
Sabu-chan is best girl
>Strike Witchers was longer than 5 years ago, that fanbase has been posting threads practically every damn day since. You are full of shit.
Strike Witches faggots were three losers posting the same images every day.
Modern /a/ is filled with hundreds of yurifags making dozens of threads each hour on a handful of different yuri series.
It's obvious that you're new here and are trying to defend your shitposting ways.
>Like I said, kill yourself.
Go drink a bottle of bleach and die, shitposter.
holy shit a thigh gap that large should be illegal
yeah, and how about the bad dude that gets his base hyper beamed but then xDD he's still alive to set a trap. this ending was a fucking joke
unnecessary though, for a supposed 'one time' use machine
Get out idiot
xd someones rustled
Last episodes were underwhelming. The show peaked somewhere in the middle, around dem robot/psionic witch episodes.
>Was the finale that bad or something?
The finale was conclusive, unlike LN or manga adaptations in which the anime gets an original or otherwise arbitrary ending meant to disappoint everyone.
Because it was good. Surprisingly few attention given to moe, no highschoolers, few gratuitous fanservice, fairly realist characters, and a story with numerous twists.
/a/ wants unidimensional moeblob, fanservice everywhere, and easy to understand plot with few twists like Kill la Kill.
Even when it aired, though it was certainly the best anime of its season, nobody on /a/ talked about it. It's too good for /a/, in a sense.
>easy to understand plot with few twists
Yamato in a nutshell.
so how does the ending of the LN or manga compare to the open ended 'earth revived' of the anime?
It was bloody good, but the last few episodes reduced it to just great. Still, top show
I thought the device would help to restore the planet's ecosystem. You know, with super advanced SCIENCE and taking some time. Not right away right with magic. That was pretty bad. Also, the whole thing was way too cheesy for its own good. Still, other than that and all the bullshit with the brother, the show was fantastic.
>we are actually going to the garmilla homeworld
>our savior are actually garmilla neighbor
>lets revive yuki with more magic
And you are asking why?
Where is Nubles 1080p past episode 22?
Will comet empire ever happen. I want a season 2.
The show got figures, means it was fairly popular.
And i can't wait for my Akira.
The broadcast fucked everything up.
And nubles also fucked up because they still haven't released a fucking batch.
All that should have been obvious to anybody who saw the original.
Check their Volume releases.
I've never bought a fig. About how long does it take them to sell out? Are they one-time things or do they continually reproduce the same figs?
Latest post only shows 720p.
Usually sellout right after release so you need to preorder early. And rarely get reproduced.
You'll get a movie and no CE.
Is this show actually good or are only the space asses good?
It's an SoL on a spaceship with actual yuri tones.
It peaked when the researcher went traitor.
Just the ass.
Nips love it because the show glorify its WW2 flagship namesake and tell an alternate tale where Yamato actually turn the tide in the war.
If you want it grab it now. I think that finding one will be one pain in the ass in a month or two. Super popular ones are sold out on preorders.
This Akira is 100$ including shipping on amiami and I think there are or will be other yamato girls. I'd like to get that alien pilot.
That's kind of the feeling I got from the first few episodes. Nationalist peen stroking shit and all.
Are there BD rips for the older movies with subs? I haven't seen any last time I checked
Eh, the nationalist peen stroking wasn't worse than your average American blockbuster movie, and to the shows advantage they were fighting space Hitler and everyone knows Space Hitler is fair game. It also had a nice message of overcoming your differences and working together.
The Comet Empire already has a great movie. I don't think it needs another remake.
Sounds pretty gay.
Space girls are really great and I loved that silly sci-fi with space battleships and stuff, some fight looked really spectacular, a fucking battleship in space is badass as fuck
I planned to watch the finale, and my computer died. I still haven't downloaded it. I hear that Kodai and Yuki finally admit their love for one another and I can't abide that.
>implying Peace And Harmony Through Realizing You Aren't So Different And That Fighting Each Other Is Stupid isn't the god tier show message
Now, power of friendship, that's gay.
It's good and stands on its own. Watch it.
It is gay, but to get there you have to past some of the most epic space fleet battles ever. So it's ok.
Definitely avoiding now.
>not liking epic broadside salvo in hyperspace.
the last episode sucked
/a/ talks only about airing, shit or autistic (like Lain) anime
its 1.2 GB BD and only appear 4 episode a month. Also space opera is niche fanbase.
If you didn't get it, it doesn't mean that it is shit.
I listened to this for literally 2 days non-stop.
Space nazis are 11/10 musicians.
That's just how it works 9 times out of 10, faggot.
The threads for shows that do continue getting discussed soon end up hated by anyone but the most deluded, obsessive, retarded autists.
It's ok, we have Sakura Trick now. It's no longer just a fantasy.
Dropped this anime when he was assassinated, series just became bullshit and lost all meaning at that point. seriously who kills off the mastermind early?
>sticking head out your space submarine(yes space submarine) to see the enemy getting fucked over with your own eyes
I like how silly and badass old shounens were.
You don't see this shit today.
People that want to take over the Empire. Also he didn't die, you idiot.
Is it just me or does SBSY2199 have surprisingly many male characters for an anime even sonsidering that most of the girls were guys in original Yamato?
It's nothing special when compared to other shows from the time period the original is from.
I lost my shit when he did that.
Well i know that old animes often had more than one guy in the cast, but seeing it today is astonishing.
I wish I'd made more screenshots with Xo, he is a reaction face factory.
It's a dimensional submarine, mate.
He should have done, especially after his second 'death', that was fucking bullshit.
The destruction of the hippie planet has to be one of the best scenes in any anime.
I'll keep using silly expressions, go on try and stop me
Are you unable to download separate volumes?
Why the fuck is that a problem?
I was wondering if those huge bombs just popped out of nowhere or if they stored them doraemon-style?
What his name actually is?
In hippon it sounf like Fukujo or something like that, but subs keep adressing him like XO.
It's a military rank - Executive officer I think
Also I'm glad that discussion ceased for this show.
It ended, let it rest in peace.
I don't want to have another daily general thread.
Leave that shit to the cancerous SW/IS/GuP/Faildex/KanColle fanbase.
Convenience, mostly. Then I checked Nubles' site to see what was taking them so long and they said the batch was delayed because they fucked up the encodes for several episodes in their initial releases and needed to redo them. So then it became a quality issue.
Now it's shifted to a lack of interest.
Shiro Sanada, they call him Fukuchou cause he's the Executive Officer of the ship.
>X stands for Executive
There's a difference between a living show that's watched by people and cancerous horsecrap like cankolle.
And there's nothing bad about the first.
Yamato deserves a bit more popularity than it has. I almost skipped the show thinking it was nothing worth attention but pics of Akira baited me into watching it.
Yamato fanbase and kancolle is one and same anon.
They were calling him fukushou, it's Japanese for vice-commander/deputy/2nd in command/executive officer etc. subs just decided to sub in the US naval XO rather than the air force CV, which is pretty fitting considering the naval theme.
Eh, I used Femme for the BDs.
It is an actual military rank, don't blame us.
It's just that Yamato is a completed story, while all the others aren't.
There's barely anything to discuss about Yamato. With the other craps, you can just post a picture, or ship X with Y, and you have a "discussion". I'd rather having that shit stay off my Yamato threads.
Remember, general threads are for fag, cancerous fag at that. We don't need that shit.
Maybe carried by tanker ships and the like, we never really saw anything but the combat ships of the Garmillians.
Only actually saw this show for the first time last week. It was awesome, amazed they did not keep going with it.
It was pretty good but it's massively over-hyped.
I went into it expected something similar to LoGH (political intrigue, moral dilemmas) instead it was essentially a shounen with ass.....lot's of glorious ass.
Quite interresting, isn't it.
Available for preorder. 72$.
Desler did nothing wrong.
Its an OVA for gods sake, what did you expect. Also , if you remember correctly, it didnt even get popular here before the TV announcment.
I wouldn't consider myself a newfag but I still have no idea wtf these threads are because I see them all the time but never click:
>Best key girl
I'm highly doubting that I'm missing anything, but could someone just confirm?
And Yamato was pretty dope. Probably enjoyed it more than anything else in 2013.
He was kind of dumb.
>Love a girl
>Go to war non-stop instead of trying to win her heart
>NTR'd by a no-name from a backwater planet
He went nuts when Yanato intruded into capital and almost bombed his own people for lulz.
Playing Hitler was okay but playing Nero - is a bit over the line.
You didn't miss anything.
Those cesspools are made by the lowest of the lows on /a/.
you might have heard about the term "circlejerk".
Click on one of them. and just skim the thread. That should tell you all you need to know.
btw KEY is a shit studio don't watch anything with their shit name attached to the product
No, it was great, best remake ever. It's over, that's all. In /a/ most of us watch stuff while ongoing. The discussed stuff anyway.
There is nothing to keep going with, it' just a remake.
>KEY is a shit studio
Also this show is one excellent reaction face material. Especially Akira and XO but others also work great.
Oh yeah, the other thing is that neither group has released 1080p yet.
>yfw you realize Desler is almost a near carbon copy of Reinhard
both made a promise to someone important to them to unify the galaxy
both have blond hair
both are extremely skilled warriors who heavily value honor, maybe not so much Desler, but the way he acts definitely points towards it even if he isn't as adamant about it as Reinhard
LoGH is a like a crossover between Yamato and Rose of Versailles.
Aliens are allowed thigh gaps that large, anon.
I swear to god, man, blue space elf girls get me every time.
>such as Code Geass and Spice and Wolf.
You mean the same CG and S&W which gets near daily threads still?
You mean currently airing shows which just might happen to be SOL are more frequently discussed as this board is topical and this happens to take precedence over older shows which have long finished airing and where the circle jerk has gotten tired?!
Would buy if I wasn't a poorfaggot.
Loved the serie and the ending. Especially during the warpdrive you cannot use lasers and the Garmillions are shocked that yamato just fires shells instead.
Reminds me of that War simulator between America and some other country, in which America got shit stomped because the inferior country didn't use modern tech.
Does she needs to use bra... IN SPACE??
>you will never befriend a telepathic space witch
>she will never tell you that she needs to be stoic all the time or she will send out waves of emotions.
>she will never grow love for you, making it harder and harder for her to control her powers.
>she will never secretly invade your dreams in order to be herself
>she will never one day accidently forget her posture and send a tidal wave of emotions of love into your mind in where you truly understand her feelings for you.
>she will never send naughty emotions to you signalling that she wants to make love to you.
Remind me why I was born again? I was reading that and expected the last greentext to be >you will never accidentally kill her
A real shame.
>When it was on-going, there were hourly threads
Wut? Even while the show was airing it barely got any attention.
It was good.
The highest honor it can get it silence.
>spice & wolf
No, they were shit. /a/ was beyond redemption already when Geass aired.
Yamato was great however, 10/10 everyone should watch.
>This makes me sad.
>/a/ wasn't like this five years ago.
Yes, it was. There's always been a big /u/ following, it's just that there are more shows that have come out with more /u/ content for us to talk about.
The main problem is the release schedule. Baseline is, only series that have a weekly schedule AND get weekly fansubs/scanlations on time will get regular threads. With weekly releases, there's always an anon who just finished the latest ep and he's gonna make a thread if there isn't one already, which results in high thread "density" within a week.
For the majority of the run, Yamato only got new releases with a few months, when a new BD came out, meaning anyone interested will watch all mew episodes in one go. With 3 eps per BD, that means only get a third or new threads that a weekly series would get, focused around the time when a new BD comes out, then it's 2-3 months of almost nothing again, with the occasional straggler.
Last stretch (4-5 episodes) finally had the weekly tv airing overtake tha BD, but at that point no sub group lifter their ass to do it, so again, no buzz. Threads got spread thin even more, between those who watched the raws and those who waited for BDs.
Similar thing happened to Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, which also went through schedule hell.
tl;dr Month long waits for releases means a series is pretty much dead in the water as far as regular 4chan discussion is concerned, unless it has some extraordinary troll potential.
She really does remind you of Rei doesn't she?
Fuck, just earlier today there was a great thread about GunSmith Cats (in which I learned something new about how Rally got her name). There are plenty of oldfags hanging around, you just need the right thread to bring them out of hiding.
Just ignore him. Is probably the same shitposter who makes the daily old vs new anime threads claiming everything nowadays is "moeshit".
are all the bd versions of all the episodes out yet?
Yes. For many months now.
any release recommendations? femme as the above anon recommended?
It's a fine 7/10 series. Remake > original series + continuations. But, that revival at the end was stupid, I know miracles and super magic, but it felt cheap as fuck considering how many others died. Main bad guy was really weak as well, his entire motivation was a delusion anyone in that position could tell was an impossible feat, and then the shitty Iscander bitch doesn't just up and tell him to fuck off and die because his dream of peaceful universe is only setting it on fire through subjugation.
I'd have also liked it to be a good 6 episodes longer. There was much to tell us about their expansions into other galaxies, would have been nice for some standard daily life of each races non military.
The original is really bad by today standards (not just the animation etc), but the story and character package (and the sequels). It's just that it started and helped move the space opera forward for a while and countless other series got a leg up and stole from it.
>Remake > original series + continuations.
No, that's wrong.
Yamato S2 > Be Forever Yamato > Remake >Yamato S1 > The New Voyage > Final Yamato > Farwell to Space Battleship Yamato > Yamato S3
