Who's your favorite villain/asshole in anime?
Mine has to be Kyubey. His comeuppance[/spoiler:lit] at the end of Rebellion was just perfect .
worst thing kyuubey does is mind fuck girls with bull shit or give them stomach cramps
dio brando throws a fucking dog in a furnace
Have you seen Rebellion?
>not Eric Sparrow
Fuck you Eric
>giving GoT shit to /lit/
C'mon, more books exist than just fucking awful fantasy. Should have gone with pic related or something.
i know /a/ doesn't approve of vanguard but... yeah... i truly enjoyed all 3 fights with asshole psyqualia aichi.
>/a/ not approving of based Vanguard
Where'd you hear that?
>HEY WATCH ME JUMP THIS CHOPPED
And we wouldn't have it any other way.
is it approved? i never hear anyone talk about it so i just assumed... well anyway i recently got into the irl game after watching... angel feather and bermuda are my favorite clans!
8man? More like BasedMan.
Not sure about favorite but Rossiu was the most effective one for me. I shaking in rage at some of his scenes.
Kyubey and Gendo are heroes that mankind didn't deserver, but needed.
I've only seen a few episodes here and there but what the fuck did Bloo did to make him as much of an asshole as Gendou and Kyubey
I think it's because most of /a/ assumes Vanguard is for underaged fags and don't realize how based it truly is. I've been keeping up with it since day 1 mang. The game itself is a lot of fun and loads more balanced than Yugioh. My favorite clans are Kagero and Genesis, though I've been wanting to get into Bermuda Triangle.
>give girls exactly what they want
>drastically improve the living conditions of mankind
>fight the heat death of the universe
QB did nothing wrong!
cause he's a robot from space sent there just to fuck wit people
How's the Vanguard competitive scene, by the way? Any regional-level competitions going on in the States?
I've been wanting to change over from YGO because that game is so fucking unbalanced but every other card game except for MTG seem to be pretty average in popularity.
yeah i run a riviere build. i also run shamsiel angels and Artemis Genesis.
Oh no, he's willing to turn magical girls into witches to fulfill his quota! This is totally new and shocking!
my local shop just got sanctioned for vanguard this weekend.
Vanguard has been rapidly gaining popularity in the states, specifically from the Yugioh audience, though I feel like MTG players would enjoy it more. To be honest, I haven't really looked into tournaments or anything, so I'm not sure, but I know card shops have individual tournaments. You could look into it if it really interests you.
Artemis Genesis is just great. It's got so much utility and draw power.
Should I play Suikoden 1 before 2?
>2010 + 4
>Playing a TCG other than Magic.
yeah I've been learning it as i go... any deck build tips?
magic is too expensive... also not enough cute animu girls.
thought suikoden 1 was a better game
it's less girly anyway
Kyubey didn't do nothing wrong
This, too fucking expensive.
Play Suikoden 5
I've been wanting to play Magic too. Not for the card game itself or anything, but for those anime sleeves and deck boxes that I've always wanted to buy from AmiAmi but never had a good reason to.
All constructed TCG formats are junk.
MTG Cubing is the only TCG format really worth it
I hate ghost banri more than anything in this world
Vanguard and Magic are quite similar actually. Magic's got too much history to really get into though, and Vanguard's got way more potential because it's relatively new, balanced, and it has an anime. Also Vanguard takes skill. Magic has almost no skill involved at the regional level.
Good one m8. Oh wait, you're serious aren't you? Oh boy.
Dio may be an asshole, but he's so fabulous that you forget about it instantly.
Luca Blight did nothing wrong.
Oh man, I don't even like constructed formats and I'm going admit right away that I know nothing about Vanguard but watch a Legacy game and tell me there wasn't a ridiculous amount of difficult decisions a player needs to make every turn.
Dawg, I fucking won my regionals the day I learned how to play Magic.
Not to mention Joffrey isn't even the most evil bastard in GoT
He's not an asshole, he's hardly doing any of that out of malice. Characters like Dio are true assholes.
>Not enough animu girls
Play white. Or get animu card sleeves.
>9 bucks for a starter deck is too expensive.
Expensive is pouring money into a worse system that has fewer people who will play with you.
Bloo really was an asshole
I find the very notion of skill in TCGs somewhat silly but no, you're embarrassing the Vanguard community.
I think you're confusing villain and antagonist.
yeah but I actually like this guy.
>What this? Pork sausage.
He's just an incomprehensible idiot.
I like magic but a starter deck gets you nowhere. Just cube with some people. No monetary investment and much more variety, skill, and fun than standard.
Please, Shinji takes the douchebag cake.
The only competition he has is __Rin___
Nui is a bigger asshole than QB
True. Most of the skill in Magic is in building a good deck. Cubing makes you demonstrate that skill, rather than looking up a deck online. But spending weeks building and testing a deck is also super satisfying. And printers make it easy and cheap.
>also not enough cute animu girls
There's billions of kawaii uguu sleeves out there.
Goddamn that motherfucker.
This. I don't even know who the fucker in OP is.
9 bucks gets me a deck that may last 3-4 months... and won't compete with custom built decks. 20 bucks gets me a deck with everything i need to win if i play it damn well... i mean its a hell of a fight but 3rd or 4th isn't impossible with a trial deck in vanguard. also key cards don't always cost 30-60 bucks...
I haven't looked at Magic in a while. Did the Amulet of Vigor deck ever do anything but look cool?
>I don't understand myself or people so I destroy everything to prove myself otherwise and gain some satisfaction
>not an avenging reaper that has come to wreak destruction on the country that kidnapped his mother along with him, killed their retinue, then forced him to watch as a bunch of dirty Jowstonian assholes gangrape his mother, and have her get pregnant, because they were trying to start a war
>his father was a shit and didn't even declare war over it
There is almost no human being who would live this shit down.
The Modern deck? No real notable placings but it has been doing well on MTGO.
true but i want cute cards... not cute sleeves... only deck in magic that interested me was white... only because of my obsession with divine beings...
Most Suikoden players don't know why Luca wanted to wipe out the people of Jowston.
>Not Hitler in every field
I know that parking lot.
>Implying this isn't cute.
The sleeves can make ANY deck cute.
/v/ approves xD
How can he be a villain when he was primarily the main hero?
But you're using a system that is less elegant, less scalable and under-utilized. So you get what you pay for.
Maybe I'm just crazy but I like a system that's so nuts that sometimes I have to use limits to prove that my infinite damage combo does in fact overpower my opponent's infinite health regen combo, thus winning the match.
yes... but does it have boobs?
You're telling me that with a top player, 20$ can get you 3rd in a nonlocals tournament?
Luca wasnt that much of an asshole, he was just insane
I don't know... Makishima? Or maybe Griffith.
This piece of shit didn't have it hard enough.
>Bad things happened to me so now I'm entitled to genocide innocent civilians
Boo fucking hoo.
This kind of shit wasn't out of the ordinary back then. In these times of war in a fantasy-medieval setting, probably 1 person out of 2 suffered this much at some point in their life. You don't see them burning villages and slaying pigs.
Do yourself a favor and play Suikoden II for the PSX.
I stopped playing Tony Hawk games after the N64 era. Why's he so bad? Care to give examples or a video? This isn't the first time I've heard him being called an asshole.
Like I said. Play white.
i prefer all my fights be fought tooth and nail to the last damage. where i hope i can last one more turn, where one trigger can change the outcome for better or worse... not a chain of infinite damage or healing... i get pumped before every tourney and i love the feeling. with vanguard every fight is a vicious slug fest.
Curious, how did this come up? Guessing it was an EDH format. I would be very disappointed if it was something as boring as splinter twin vs soul sisters.
/lit/ here, I think you're slightly off there.
Legacy is the only true format.
if you're damn inteligent about it and a little lucky on triggers? sure, vanguard is indeed that balanced.
>favor for yourself
Legacy is great. The only problem with it is that the manabase alone can buy the player multiple top tier deck in other card games.
What do you dislike in JRPGs
Go to bed already.
My quest is over.
I'm hazy on the details right now. But I remember it had to do with my opponent having an infinite mana combo that gave it to everyone, and i had several blood artists in play and was able to sacrifice and resummon a reassembling skeleton forever, thus procing the damage from blood artist.
Also, what the flying fuck moot?
>90% of game is filler content
>stereotypical retarded and unimaginative anime characters
>AN ANCIENT EVIL HAS AWOKEN
Right, now what was the infinite life combo? I'm interested in the limits thing.
meant to reply to
I was playing my shitty modern vampire deck against a diplomacy EDH deck. So yeah, it was a clusterfuck of a casual game.
What if I told you this game was the last of its kind, has shitload of content and doesn't revolve around angsty teenagers dressed with belts?
Why are all the angels in MTG female?
>probably 1 out of 2
>all of the characters in suikoden 2 doesn't have any story even remotely that shitty
because the entire playerbase is either foreveralone beta male, or dyke
Soul Sisters is best deck.
It was something to do with a chain of tapping gates to proc a card that heals to proc another card that untaps gates. This was about a year ago so I don't remember much about it, other than the fact that I had to grab a neutral party to confirm that my math was indeed correct.
One of the biggest asshole ever, in the manga at least. Didn't watch the anime so no idea how he turns out to be in it.
Just look at his fucking face. What a dick.
Soul's attendant is better.
Not that person but that's what really turned me off of vanguard. Every cardgame has luck involved but the variance in vanguard due to lucky triggers makes the game feel out of my control too often for my taste.
Ahaha pretty cool. Yeah mtg really does lead to some crazy scenarios.
I like the deck with poison creatures and dinosaurs.
if it makes you feel any better about it Genesis has Goddess of Good Luck, Fortuna... which lets you raise your odds of a trigger everytime her effect kicks.
This is my general response to everything of the like.
He's not too bad at first, but then he's constantly trying to beat you, it's clear your not really his friend as much as you are there just to boost his ego, he steals your greatest trick, gets the sponsors and shit you should have gotten, gets you into jail in russia acts more and more like an asshole the further you get in the game.
You can always tell these are made by /a/ or /co because /a/ /m/ and /lit/ usually get the generic "everybody has seen this" character rather than anybody that truly fits.
>/v/ or /co/
is what I meant.
>The feel when you want to play MTG but you have no friends to play it with.
It's been a while, but here's what I remember. At the very beginning he's your best bro, you're both nobodies from Jersey. You both enter local skate competitions and work your way up. It's awesome, you're making it with your best bud.
So you're both signed skaters, but you haven't really gone pro and you're not Tony Hawk famous. You're in another town for a competition and you decide to make a skate video showing off some of the biggest tricks in town. While recording it you end up on the hotel roof and you jump a fucking helicopter and Eric gets it all on tape for you. You're both fucking losing your minds over how awesome it is, it's the greatest thing ever.
So later it's the big premiere of your guys' skate video and everyone is watching. It gets to the big moment and everyone flips their shit. Only, they aren't cheering you on because Eric edited the tape to make it look like he jumped the helicopter.
Eric goes pro and becomes famous, meanwhile you're still trying to make it on your own. Later you both end up in Russia for a huge competition. While there, Eric gets shitfaced and steals a tank. You drop in to try and stop it before any damage is done. He hops out on top to surf it while drinking, but you're unable to stop it in time. The tank crashes, the hatch gets jammed shit, and you're locked in reeking of liquor. You get stuck with the blame and lose everything while Eric goes on to sell out and become filthy rich from endorsements.
Except the fact that Joffrey did a lot of things that literally make him the biggest asshole in literature in a long long time.
>not playing the superior TCG
Not an asshole, but a villain with syle.
Do you have a traditional game store you can get to without too much hassle? Then you have people to play Magic with.
>playing card games
I remember being in middle school
What, I thought that fag from game of thones was the good guy
In mtg true infinite loops cause draw games, repeatable loops can only be done to an arbitrarily high number so any 'infinite damage' combo will always kill any 'infinite health' combo.
song of ice and fire aren't even discussed as much as you might expect on /lit/
>talking shit about card games
Yes and no. There is one a few towns away but because of my working hours I cant go down there when its open.
You're just jealous of my black lotus's arn't you anon.
When you play with people who are in college, you know the math necessary to resolve truly infinite combos.
Don't play with friends, play with assholes so you feel good when you win
That format was bad enough and not even because of spellbooks.
I'm guessing you haven't taken calculus yet?
The actor is a bonafide good guy, yes.
He's a hero, saving the universe using one little girl at a time.
Oblivion Ring is best girl.
Are you guys serious? I was just saying what the actual rules were, I don't even understand how that implies anything you guys said.
Think of it as an in-house rule that pretty much all educated people follow, because that's how math works. I guess you can't completely rely on it in tournaments though.
I think you ment vraska
I used to know this guy that loved MTG. I personally love trying new decks but not this guy. He didnt build his decks he copied them. After a few years I finally got a job and was able to afford to build decks. It turns out that he only enjoyed the game when he was winning. He quickly abandoned his decks or stopped playing the game when I started winning. It was the same with chess, MMOs etc. I always found it funny.
But I can see her... Shes there, shes right there.
Yup. There are those people.
The biggest MTG asshole I've ran into is a guy who would routinely bring his infinite turn combo deck into huge multiplayer games.
The only fun way to play multiplayer,
I used to love multilayer games. It was always so much fun dropping a board wiper or sitting back and massing up enough squirrels to kill everyone in one turn.
I don't get this, I have a tournament worthy deck, but recently the most fun I've had playing magic is with this mono blue deck that I put together in like ten mins that consists solely of counter spells, unsummons and like three creatures.
It never wins but its so much fun
I built a black/blue discard bounce deck that I never got to play in a game... it sure is fun to caress and draw from though...
Are you trying to be pretentious on purpose or something? I mean you are obviously a casual player and can follow any kind of rules you want to, but actual 'educated people' as you call them would probably be more inclined to play the game as intended. Grats on doing calculus though.
Watching the delicious tears of multiple opponents is always fun, even if it causes you to get focused down afterwards.
I think griffith is in the right, yes it was awful how he killed the hawks but doing that to ensure world peace is probably worth it. Except that whole raping casca thing, that was just a douche move.
So true. Or dropping a counter spell in a unrelated attack across the board.
Educated people would understand that the rules are the way they are because the no sane game designer would make calculus a prerequisite for their game. Not because it detracts from the experience. I like doing it that way because it stops the whole calvin ball of
>My combo is a million.
>Well my combo is ten million.
bullshit that happens when you play lots of combo decks.
Fuck that shit eating cunt.
I thouhg goro was our asshole?
That's what makes the game better than others in my opinion. Triggers don't make or break you usually, and they can make for some great comebacks or plays when you get them. It makes the game really spontaneous and eventful. There's never a dull moment while playing vanguard.
>posting that kohaku
I'm flattered, anon. I can still smell the butthurt of /w/'s tripfags back then.
Don't you have to write your homework or something for tomorrow? Go get it than already.
what the fuck am I reading? since when is there a story in skateboard games? when I was your age, kids, all I needed was that warehose level with "superman" by "goldfinger" playing in the background.
The amount of randomness in a game is generally a taste thing. That said, I still think that Magic handles it better because managing the randomness becomes a huge part of the game in ways that aren't possible with Vanguard's system. Which is also why Vanguard is more controlled, because new players can't shoot themselves in the foot as much and experienced players don't have the room to go really crazy with deck building.
THUG's big deal was the main storyline. That was its big new feature.
Rossiu didn't do anything wrong.
I thought it was mostly focused on the Jackass shenanigans
you don't have to dislike someone to think they're an asshole
greed is a loveable asshole
he's endearing in his own asshole way
Don't look at those fab abs directly anon, they might blind you
Maybe that was THUG2 or THAW?
The first THUG was a rags to riches story about soul skating. Bam was barely even in it.
Kyubey isn't evil, he is doing it for the sake of his people.
Just as an example, Kimbley from FMA was an asshole purely out of being an asshole. He didn't gain anything other than power and possibly boners.
He's doing it for the sake of the entire universe.
Have to say, even though I haven't played vidya in a while, so my information might be outdated, but this faggot definitely takes the cake.
Captcha: everscum hath
Kotomine Kirei, especially when he starts to enjoy his newly discovered YUETSU.
Wow. First time I see someone misunderstand him that hard.
there was no possibly he definitely got off on it.
he helped in his own way in the end though.
basically he only existed to kill people though, even his former allies
Truniht is a massive asshole, practically responsible for undermining the democratic system just by his lonesome
Also that bit just before he dies where he implies that he did it deliberately so that he could end up in a system where he could gain even more power
he's just a guy that wants to improve his place in the world.
is that so wrong?
The part where he encouraged fanatic patriotism and overly militaristic actions against a foe they were ill prepared to fight was the wrong part
Confirmed for old ads list. No dark depths thespian stage combo
