Any /a/nons living in Area 11 right now? I've been trying to find this fucking manga at bookstores - been meaning to read it forever but I like to have the physical copies and they're cheap as hell here - but it seems like it's just not being sold anywhere. I see even older titles filling the shelves so it can't be just an age thing.

Anyone know what's up?

Maybe Japan just hates Biscuit Hammer.

asked a Japanese otaku girl, apparently the series has virtually no name recognition so now that it's not being published anymore it's almost never carried in stores

nyaa has a torrent

Have you checked Book Offs?

I found it on amazon.jp and it only took me five minutes.

yeah I mean I could get it online, but I haven't made an account on jp yet - guess I'll be doing that if local Book-Off is a bust.

Not yet, that's a good idea - googlemapsing the nearest one

...you both MASSIVELY underappreciate the scope of Japanese manga industry.

It's a bizzare misconception to think that an average Japanese manga enthusiast would know any manga that doesn't belong in their particular niche outside of the absolutely massive fads like SnK and similar.

Just because we have limited number of titles to choose from and /a/ to hype particular works, does not mean Japan is in any way similar.

Also, go browse the monthly top selling manga lists from time to time, they'll give you a good idea of what's ACTUALLY popular.

Found it pretty easily in Akihabara last year. Sengoku youko on the other hand took me several stores to get the full set at the time.

i'm obviously aware of that, i asked if she'd heard of the series and she'd only sort of heard of it and then explained how most bookstores work here with regards to what manga they keep on the shelves
