What manga are you reading /a/, just finished this, fuck those twins.
There´s an OVA if you´re interested OP.
Just finished reading the last volume of Yowamushi Pedal and SHAMO.
I was pretty hyped for some more fighting manga, so I read the first volume of Holyland......meh, I hope it gets better.
Just finished Sanctuary, and damn, I loved it. Reading Sora no Shita Yane no Naka at the moment.
Summit of the Gods. Maybe a bit of Kitaro later.
Ichi the Killer was pretty good. One of the most immortal moments of all time.
I'm enjoying this so far, but why is so straight?
currently reading Versailles
too much court drama, not enough revolution.
You should watch the liveaction while you're at it. It's pretty damn good. It's missing some of the better scenes, like the twins role is way cut down, but they also change a few things in ways that I'd say is better. Basically, watch it if you want more, but different.
>too much court drama
No such thing.
I thought it was terrible. They skipped out on a lot of good material, and it looked way too goofy.
It was a weird combination of edgy, stupid, and perverse fascination.
For some reason I can't help but ship.
I hope Altair fucks the merchant girl silly.
How was movie adaptation?
>For some reason I can't help but ship.
It's probably because you're a huge faggot.
Fuck you, I'm not a huge faggot,
I'm a massive one.
Seriously though, take any series and throw a bit of sexual tension into it and the series is just that much better.
Caught up to reading Trinity 7. All these delicious girls
wowowowo is SHAMO finished? it's been years since i'v left it, was planning to catch up soon.
In his defense, they genuinely make a cute couple.
Fuck sake, can't he say LATEST? last volume implies it's finished.
I guess. It's really whether you like Miike's style or not. He can really jump from serious to fucking nuts within a second. The ending I thought was actually a touch better, and some of the gruesome scenes were way nastier, but then some of it was way more "wacky".
But I thought the original was already kind of like that, just less extreme both ways.
I just finished Battle Royale.
Why do people say The Hunger Games is a Battle Royale rip-off? Totally different concepts of the game and less in-depth characterization
No. That's not true at all. You're like Hollywood who just shoehorns romance into everything.
It's retarded, and you're retarded.
Because those two are literally the only movies they know about that deal with those themes.
I didn't say it has to be explicit romance, it just needs to be sexual tension. Like the MC is in a corridor with a woman to his right side, and he glances at her and she's looking right back at him. Maybe she's stroking a gun in her hand while she's doing so, maybe she's liking it, maybe the gun is a penis.
My point is sexual tension tickles an itch for the viewers, that being said it can be overdone, hamfisted romance is infuriating for me.
I dislike Miike's style. I'm not sure what the appeal is. I'm not a film buff though, so maybe it goes over my head.
I don't think that anything was really nasty in the film. It all looked like B movie effects, probably because it was.
I never really thought of the manga as wacky, definitely outlandish, but never even as close to how the film was.
Shoehorning sexual tension is just as bad. There is nothing that will make a manga better 100 percent of the time.
Kurosawa. Hard life.
My bad, you´re right. But honestly, I don´t know how they can continue the story besides making Ryo look like an asshole / fuck around with his beloved ones. Hopefully his (only) bro and sister don´t bite the dust.
And disregard myself >>100504763 , Holyland just got fucking real.
I'll check it out thanks, is the ripped midget really a bad guy? At the end I didn't really end up liking him because he tricked Ichi and that kid into being his killers, doesn't sit well with me even if he's doing it for a "good" cause.
Shoehorned sexual tension is bad, admittedly, subtle sexual tension though is good.
If you genuinely can't see why people say The Hunger Games is a battle royale rip-off then something is wrong with you.
Totally different concepts of the game? Yes, some concepts and aspects of the two games in their respective universe are totally different, but the core concepts of the books are pretty much the same. Students, young people, in a deadly arena type game killing each other with various provided weapons.
less in-depth characterization, different variations of the game, off course it's not going to be EXACTLY the fucking same. It doesn't mean it's not a rip off because you just change a few things about it.
Hunger games is way too shit to even be compared to battle royale in my opinion though.
I'm reading Hokuto no Ken right now. The scans are awful which is kind of sad, but I like it so far.
It's full of manly tears moments, though a lot of them have been really predictable.
After that I'm going to read the last two volumes of Genkaku Picasso.
>Take battle royal
>add strong and independant wimmen who don't need no man
Saying it's a rip off is a bit overboard, but saying it has totally different concepts is beyond retarded.
>Students, young people, in a deadly arena type game killing each other with various provided weapons.
No, in Battle Royale they were students and in Hunger Games they were kids from 12 to 18, that could also offer themselves as "sacrifices", who were trained in one-on-one combat and given sponsors based on charisma while on Battle Royale they were randomly kidnapped and given fire weapons and needed to stay on the move all the time or else their heads might blow up.
The pressure and atmosphere was tons different. And survival isn't a topic that wasn't touch yet, the only thing that changes is both added the whole TV show thing.
Battle Royale AND Hunger Games rip off The Long Walk and The Running Man.
Minor nitpick with Mori Kouji (Holyland mangaka). Does he allways butt in in the middle of the narration and talks to the reader? Because it kind of ruins the mood a bit.
Haven´t finished reading it, but as far as I know he does manipulate and uses Ichi for his own profit. Take that as you wish.
I would like to see more Yamamoto adaptations. A Homunculus Live-Action series could be pretty good.
>No, in Battle Royale they were students and in Hunger Games they were kids from 12 to 18
>kids from 12 to 18
Kids are usually students at that age.
Just finished Emma and Emma Further Tales. One of the few mangas that made me happy yet sad because I'll never see the characters again.
I finally finished rereading Pandora Hearts.
Hopefully there's a new chapter out this month.
Leo a shit.
That sacrifice thing is a pretty massive plothole, because they clearly state she's the first to have even tried. The whole time up till then it was just totally random as well.
For me, the ripping off becomes clear when you look at how political they both are. They both have youths fighting to the death in arena's, and both use it as a launching point for some commentary on politics. The mechanics of the fight are different, but there's a lot of simmilarities in themes and what they're trying to attack.
The problem is, Hunger games came much later, and it's extremely fucking stupid. There's been other, similar things before, but very few of them handle it as similarly as those two works do.
Caught up to the latest chaper of Mob Psycho and just finished catching up to Wallman.Got a lot of other stuff I'm waiting on including Boku wa Mari no Naka
Waiting is the worst part of manga.
You have proven your point right.
I enjoyed this read, too many dick piercings tho', haha jk, but it made me cringe from time to time.
I don't really know myself. I think it's just taste. I can't get enough of his works, and honestly, judging them all at once seems a little silly, since he's done loads of different kinds of movies.
I wouldn't ever try to give word on his style when that involves talking about Yatterman, Visitor Q and Audition all in one go.
I gather you're not here every night. It sucks that we've pretty much caught up now.
Well, Boku wa Mari no Naka now has periodic releases since CR decided to pick it up.
I need to read this and other manly manga. I finished Kongoh Bancho and it got me hooked.
I swear I'm stuck on Punpun, it's not bad, it's good actually, but I can only deal with so much depressed Punpun.
Nigga, I just got here.
Yeah, he does.
It's a lot more tolerable in Suicide Island, which is better than Holyland in my opinion.
He spent time with Japanese hunters and spent a month in the wood for preparation.
I refuse to support it.
Not only has his art become more souless, but he can't write for shit and he spoiled the end of SKR in it.
Well I've had it buffered over several years. It's been a long ride and I don't know what I'm going to do with myself once Hox has finished it in about 10 days.
Make sure to read Saruwatari's stuff. Riki-Oh is fucking amazing.
great read, good stuff right there. Dreamt for months about how my former class was forced to go through same shit, it was some good stuff.
Would be cool if they made another one. But in this one, the remaning survivors had to go to a "2nd round" where they fought other survivors from other classes, and this happened all around the world so in the end, people who survived beating not only the kids in their class, school, district, city, nation etc, but they then had to fight people from other nations who had gone through the same thing, and in the end a final round with kids who had survive and beaten everyone in their nations. Then it could be like in Vagabond(you get to follow pretty much a whole life story from multiple characters) where you get to follow every single kid who shows up in the final round (nation vs nation vs nation....etc). And the beginning of the series could have something like kingdom, first chapter is the start of the final round, close ups on all the kids who survived every single round in their nation. And then you first get to follow then japanese, then some other nation etc (life story that is). They could milk out about 5k chapters on this series and make shit ton of cash, since the concept is selling really well.
I knew someone would get upset about this, sorry, I guess I spent time with too many normalfags lately. I've gotten too good at hiding my power level.
>One of the few mangas that made me happy yet sad because I'll never see the characters again.
That's how I always feel when finishing a manga, especially when there's no epilogue.
The Mob Psycho thread the other day is what got me into it since I've been reading OPM and waiting for Murata's redraws and new story chapters from ONE is suffering.
but i'll read scans off batoto unless it's a volume that literally just came out that i DL
.too lazy to not google search for pics
Wallman isn't too bad for what it is and it sucks that things are spoiled but I still wanna see SKR through
Punpun is probably the only manga where things continually get worse but still keep reading besides Boys on the run. Plus,it's almost done.Doing my best not to spoil myself with raws
I know what you mean but I cared more than average for these characters.
>Wall isn't too bad for what it is
But it certainly isn't good for what it is either.
What a weird seting also Noi is great
Reading Cromartie. Second volume and up.
Is it ever a time when it isn't funny?
I finished Shin Angyo Onshi recently, I have a big list of things on-hold waiting for the series to be finished before catching up because I hate following chapters by chapters, i'd rather marathon whole things in one go.
Might finish Punpun now that it's finished but I don't know if I could handle it right now, been having depressing moments.
Man, I know this is a fictional work and all, but I can´t get rid of the thought that someone got killed because of following his advices
>I (the author) once got injured in a knife fight. now look how my character beats a guy with a knife. It´s fool´s proof! knifes have weaknesses!
I read Shin Angyo Onshi recently. I knew the ending beforehand because manga threads having spoilers but it was still very powerful. I love it.
It's really is kind of derpy teenage edgy at times. I really do enjoy Suicide Island better.
Especially when you hear of some actual fighters testimonials of "knives are horrible, just try as best as you can to not get stuck". There's little room for that "grabs wrists, knife instantly pops out to a safe distance away" bollocksin real life.
Either way I'd rather go for the HSDKenichi method and use a belt.
BJJ by the gracie family actually has a shit-ton of techs against knives, ofc it won't really matter TOO much if someone jumps you from behind or randomly
Words from my skrima teacher years ago when facing a knife:
-Avoid combat at all costs. Talk, seek help or run.
-If not possible, wrap your jacket over your hand and use it as an emergency shitty shield against slashes.
-Sharp (knives) will ALWAYS beat blunt (baton, fist)
I finished reading Strongest Man Kurosawa just in time for a thread about it earlier today. That final arc is some powerful stuff man, and dat ending.
He's not dead.
Fuck that new series, he's dead to me
It's really more that knives in media are always seen as this easily avoided miniscule advantage that never hurts anyone, and any basic kung fu-er can just flail-slap it away from them. When instead, they're extremely serious, massive killers and there's very few techniques that work at all, let alone are reliable. Swapping knife hands can take an untrained thug a second, and even grabbing the hand wont stop them from cutting the wrist up.
And a single mistake can cause some nasty damage, much more permanent than just fists. It's just not a situation anyone should ever want to be in.
Reading One punch man, but who isn't? I guess the one thing he can't kill in one punch is a spaceship
fuck, i didn't mean to reply to anything
What could probably go wrong?
Volume 30 of Yowamushi Pedal and MW by Tezuka.
MW is a whole load of crazy but it's pretty interesting. I'm not a fan of gekiga manga having so much beastiality in them though. It's really awkward to read.
MW was weird. I feel like it had the makings of a great manga, but failed to deliver. And just like with Ode to Kirihito, I feel like certain parts of the manga were very forced or destroyed my suspension of disbelief (the girl who was raped falling madly in love with Michio for example).
>I'm not a fan of gekiga manga having so much beastiality in them though
I never noticed this being a thing. And MW only had implied bestiality.
It's not bad.
There's a sequel coming soon.
I wouldn't call it a trademark of gekiga. Frankly Tezuka's attempts at gekiga are really just that. For me they're too tryhard and he seemed really torn on making these kinds of series. On the one hand, he probably didn't want to be resigned to children's things, but on the other, I don't think he liked having all this violence. It's not to say that his works aren't influenced by gekiga, but if you want actual gekiga, you need the guys who were actually underground.
MW and Ode to Kirihito are definitely my least favourites.
I thought it already started.
Maybe. I haven't checked in a long time.
Tezuka was much better at semi-serious works like Black Jack.
Black Jack can get really dark at times, but it doesn't feel tryhard most of the time.
blade of the immortal
>blade of the immortal
It's just so good.
noi is adorable, so is nikaido :)
I think even Black Jack's too serious. Tezuka's best when doing all-ages stuff.
hurts to read sometimes! shits brutal
I read a couple Yoshihiro Tatsumi books recently and at least three of his stories had guys screwing/implied romancing dogs and monkeys. When Yuki brought out his dog in MW and called it sexy all I could think was
>not this shit again
Really? I thought that Black Jack was a nice mix of serious and lighthearted. Though when it gets dark, it gets real dark.
I had to go jog or work out atleast 5 times out of anger
Devilman, Bambino, Adolf, and School Rumble.
Earnestly enjoying them each.
Black Jack had some really funny stories but Tezuka can really turn them around quickly at the endings. With MW I'm not really trying to take it seriously because some parts of it are so over the top it becomes funny.
>caught up with
Mysterious Girlfriend X
Akame Ga Kill
Vagabond (holy shit dat art, dat writing, dem characters, dem fights, this is fucking amazing)
Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo
No, definitely not. I love Fuusuke for instance. His oneshot collections are brilliant as well.
I know what you mean about his all ages stuff. I didn't think I'd enjoy Dororo as much as I did, which certainly isn't mentioned by many people at all.
In Tatsumi's case, I found it's less about the actual bestiality and more about patheticism.
It's all happiness until you catch up and face the unbearable wait.
are there no passable scans of JOJO part three and on? I kinda paused there because it's just so pixelated. Will it ever get reprinted?
Which books? I own Good-Bye and The Push Man, but the only thing I remember even resembling bestiality is the story with the rat.
The Push Man and Abandon the Old in Tokyo.
I think Abandon the Old in Tokyo is the one where a guy has sex with a dog.
I keep putting off Dororo because I heard it was never finished.
Should I remedy that?
>beign that much of a quality faggot.
Just read them until part 4 where quality increases
>Abandon the Old in Tokyo
Ah, I don't have that one yet. I really need to pick up the rest of his stuff.
Well I got like 300 chapters to go so no worries there, plus I'm spacing it out, reading like 5 chapters per month
Go ahead. It's a little depressing when you get to the end and realize that we'll never a conclusion, but it was an easy read.
I wish I had that kind of self control.
>reading like 5 chapters per month
What the shit.
Dorohedoro ended? When was this?
You have to be mentally challenged to read that little
I literally cannot stop reading SHAMO and Sidonia no Kishi. Over and over and over again.
/a/ please I need help, how to I maintain this fight/space addiction? What's the next step?
Dororo, not Dorohedoro.
Dororo not Dorohedoro. Though I think that Dorohedoro is supposed to be ending soon.
Then I can finally finish it. I had no clue what the fuck was happening when I read it by volume releases.
Read other fighting/space manga?
Anything tangentially related to SHAMO I could snag? Gritty, underground fighting.
This is really fucking good.
I Am A Hero's been pretty fun. I just hope the narrative switches back to Hideo at some point
"Koroshiya #1" manga is insanely good if you can stomach it. the Ichi the Killer movie is one of my top-5 favorites of all time too. The anime prequel is horseshit.
not the same but but read inherit the space its based on a science fiction novel where a 50.000 year old human is found in a crater on the moon. as for fighting manga i recommend kingdom and shigurui
I just finished Kimi no Knife. I wish the author didn't try to explain the supernatural element. That or simply do something with it, grand or otherwise, so that it isn't irrelevant to only twelve pages out of the ten volumes. Other than that though, it was certainly enthralling and enjoyable.
Sorry, thought it was a shortening.
Are there any decent space manga? I'm reading Sidonia and Zelphy but I can't think of others and Zelphy is just because I like the artist.
Yeah, it was. Biggest fault is overusing the same gags for every introduction arc but it was still good.
It is, it was really sad
Although nearly every story in those books has sad and pathetic characters.
Gekiryuuchi. It was axed too soon and the secondary characters are retarded, but putting that aside it's fairly entertaining. Gives a Holyland vibe with MC being a bullied kid before learning to fight.
*inherit the stars
I'm about halfway through with angel densetsu so I can see what you mean, but as you said the rest of it is great.
Gunsmith Cats Burst.
Well I was, now I'm seeing how cheap I can get a cobra.
Just finished Kilico, it was pretty amazing.
I'm gonna start 3x3 Eyes now because I've been putting it off for 6 years.
Baki the Grappler, perhaps? Although you should check out logic when reading it, it can get pretty crazy.
Planetes. 2001 Nights. Stardust Memories. Inherit the Stars. Space Bros.
I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
Loved that one, lot's of fun.
Reading shiguri as we speak, thanks a ton. Kingdom will be read in a moment.
I'll go for it, thanks.
Oh god shit hold on you're going to fast fuck.
thats not my image
Two Faces of Tomorrow. Saturn Apartments. Fourteen as well I suppose.
2001 Nights has its 'sequel' translated now.
Also Comic Hoshi Shinichi is fucking awesome.
Why don't you like burst?
I'm reading through the greatest love story ever written right now:
A town where you RAGE
I'm so glad that this trollmanga is going to finish in a few weks.
Cool. I'll have to give it a read. I love Hoshino.
I'm reading old long running classics. Right now Yu Yu Hakusho, but I cannot find scans of the official English release of volumes 17-19. If somebody knows please tell me. Otherwise I will switch to a French translation since scanlations are fucking awful for this series.
Finished Kiseijuu not that long ago and the scanlations were also terrible. Shit like that is why I don't like to read manga.
Jesus christ, how horrifying.
Along with Baki, try Garouden (both of them), Tough, and maybe Karate Shoukoushi.
Not just those, Hunter x Hunter has a lot of chapters with absolute shit scanlation in the palace invasion arc. If there is no official scans, then it's risky to read a series because I never know if I'm gonna waste my time with that crap.
So many based comedy/thug manga by the same author, each one forgotten and with no current group scanlating them. How sad.
I liked how they kind of forgot that the brazilean guy raped a guy in every club of the school.
or busy as fuck, I do it as a reward at the end of the week but sometimes I can't help it and I end up reading two chapters so on average its about 5 chapters a month.
Plus that sort of pacing just feels right, this is some gigantic epic that tells the entire life story of someone, it feels appropriate that I have lots of time to think about it.
Checked in the usual places and I can't find official scans of those either.
There is no way you're so busy that you can only read one chapter a week. One chapter takes like 5 minutes to read. If that.
Other than KTK blogspot page are there other places to look?
It's a shame, how many excellent series have had translations dropped in the middle of their volumes, or how many have yet to be touched at all. As I continue to find such stories, it seems a fine idea to learn to read Japanese for the sake of reading manga.
Thank you sir my faith in life has been restored!
Jojo, damn its long but i'm loving it.
I don't know who i like more Jonathan, Joseph or Jotaro.
That's exactly why I started to learn. I'm not even worried about learning to speak it or understand it verbally. I just want to be able to read.
Not really. It'd be a shot in the dark to find it anywhere else. I know Spectrum Nexus did GTO, but I'm not sure if they were doing any other series. Comic book guys do manga sometimes, but very rarely.
I'm not saying that I only have time for that much I'm saying that spacing it out keeps me from accidentally binge reading the whole thing.
I'm also trying to juggle a bunch of other television shows and movies.
plus, it gets me excited for the next chapter, and like I said before, sometimes I read two chapters at a time
but is it as good as BLAME! ?
Beacuse, holy shit, that was good
Oh it blows BLAME! out of the water. Plenty of architecture porn and the plot's a bit easier to follow. Also all the waifu lines are crossed.
ALL of them...
Personally that's the 1 thing I didn't like about Sidonia. It felt like he was dumbing down his usual work to present you with dense harem lead and his party of haremettes that follow him everywhere.
I wish there was a way to tell if a series has good or shitty scanlation before reading it. Considering I went through the entirety of Kiseijuu when 80% of it spelled the fucking main character's name wrong.
To a degree yes, but one must give credit for the sheer scope of diversity, as well as the subtle nuances that...promptly drop off following the death of Benisuzume.
>the plot's a bit easier to follow
That's the impression I got when I read the first chapters, good, but not epic, not even sarcasticly meant here like Blame
Sci-fi a best
Currently on volume 5 of The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. I'm enjoying it, but I'm not understanding the major hype behind it as of now.
SHIT IS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG
just finished holyland not sure if im going to start ichi the killer or shamo after reading this thread
>but I'm not understanding the major hype behind it as of now
There really isn't any real reason. It's just alright.
Is it just a very vocal group that really hypes it up? I've heard people saying it's one of the greatest things ever, and honestly haven't heard people saying it's bad.
Pretty much. Every now and again, you'll get threads about people talking about it as just alright.
Guy who finished the latest of Shamo and just started Holyland here.
From what I can judge now, Shamo´s character exposition is way better than Holyland´s. Some chapters may be considered blatant filler, but it really helps to see behind Ryo´s thousand layers instead of just "oh he is an asshole and fights dirty, look at him and shiver"
Holyland´s only flaws imo by now (4th volume) ist the allready mentioned author ramblings in >>100506369
>>100507667 and if you´re picky the art style. But I kind of feel fond for the friendship trio that just got introduced (MC Yuu, Shin and that karate guy).
tldr. Check Shamo, you won´t regret it ( and endure the monkey kung fu arc, trust me).
Currently reading this because of the super bowl
It's great, but the fact that every goddamn game ends in a final play with one second on the clock and constant escalating special moves gets a bit weary.
Also reading/waiting on:
Zetman (hah good luck)
I am a Hero
Apocalypse no Toride
Rate my tastes /a/
This one and Fourteen. Fourteen is supposed to be a horror manga but I'm 50+ chapters in and it's been nothing but comedy to me.
>Rate my tastes /a/
Pretty boring. Not bad, but boring.
>Zetman, I Am a Hero, HxH, Berserk
Well, at least Apocalypse is updating regularly right?
I'm about to start Eyeshield 21, Bakuman, Ten, Homunculus and Great Teacher Onizuka.
Also plan to read Berserk once I buy a few more volumes, don't wanna run out in a day or two.
No, it's meant to be a very campy sci-fi story. Hilarious all around.
>Also plan to read Berserk once I buy a few more volumes
You could always download.
We anons have an exclusive copy of the clean, dark horse scans up to V25.
And some of the Berserk volumes are fucking expensive.
Just keep reading. Soon you'll have no idea what it's supposed to be.
They all got reprinted so it's 13-15 dollars and it's completely worth it. I much prefer reading a physical book than a digital book.
currently enjoying saitama overpowered story
>so it's 13-15 dollars
You mean $8, right?
You better be reading ONE or intending to.
I'm been reading Shimauma, which is an hilariously edgy manga.
Almost to the point of parody.
The last manga I read was one with a serial killer who used youtube to declare his murders in advance, covering his face with newspaper. The name, I have forgotten.
It's 13-15 for me. I wish it was cheaper but it's better than out of print prices.
Yokokuhan? Last chapter was ages ago.
Yeah, that. Did any more chapters get scaned?
Just finished Monster. What the fuck was that ending?
>copy of the clean, dark horse scans up to V25
where can I find this? if that's not asking too much... I've been looking to download clean scans of berserk (i'm not specifically poor but I can't afford to spend anything else other than food, bills, etc) and the only releases I found were fucking hawks ones.
Here you go.
These are the /a/ approved scans.
I got caught up with Ultra Heaven, is there any word on when there's going to be a new volume?
I think urasawa temped at gainax once upon a time, because every goddamn ending of his I've hated
Fucking 20th century boys what the fuck
I love shamo, and i remember starting hollyland and going quite far. Like further than 5 volumes in, passed the first few arcs and something made me quit. I think I felt like the story and character was going nowhere, didn't really enjoy the artstyle either.
I don't even like fighting/martial art mango that much, was reading Shamo more for the Ryo's story which I found was interesting.
>Still only up to vol25
Why. The only other decent scans are almost 1gb per volume which is complete bullshit.
fucking Pluto. probably my second favourite manga and I don't know who the fuck that bear was
Much appreciated, thank you
Battle Angel Alita: Last Order is ending in one chapter and a new series will begin.
The Martian War Chronicles
Dr. Anon has gone silent.
1-25 is all we'll get, most likely.
I'm currently reading Gambling Emperor Zero and about to start the Nichibros manga? Anyone know if the chapters covered in the anime are translated? The one on Manga Traders doesn't have the chapters the were covered in the anime.
Waiting for Dorohedoro to finish, rereading Akumetsu and hoping for another chapter of Sumikko no Sora-san
You have no idea how hyped I am for part 3 of that. The 2nd arc in part 2 was one hell of a ride.
How far in Zero are you anon?
I just started the poker game in part 2.
Oh awesome, just wait for the next arc. It's fucking crazy. Poker was really fun to read too.
On another note why is FKMT so based? I've loved every single thing he's made.
If only Kaiji really got an Uno arc.
Finished SZS last night and have been going around seeing everything I missed.
>Those hints in all the OPs
>foreshadowing in the very first chapter
I'm so hard.
That would of been the greatest thing ever
Imagine the Shit that would go down
Are you saying that the Hunger Games has less characterization, or that Battle Royale does?
If you mean Battle Royale, just think of how many characters are in it. The story follows many characters, showing the deaths of about 40 (I believe, it's been a long time) different people. Whereas the Hunger Games is from one perspective with at max 5 characters with 'in-depth' development. Obviously those 5 characters are going to be more fleshed out, even if Catniss is a mary sue.
Was finally able to push myself through bradherly no basha
Goddamn that was the most depressing shit
Dude are you serious? I fucking love Mori because of that. That is what makes him different than other authors.
Iinazuke Kyoutei. Everyone stopped translating at Chapter 11 even though the raws for 12,13, and 14 are available..
Yeah the author stops mid fight sometimes to explain a technique he's showing off. Being a boxer and generally interested in combat sports it was interesting to me, but I can understand why some would not like it.
for the love of fuck
Catching up on Saki, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, Berserk
Finishing up on FOTNS, Monster
I'm pretty late to the party, I know, but is Vinland Saga ever going to get an adaptation?
Did you read the manga prequel. the second half is exactly the same but I found the the first half somewhat more interesting.
HOLY SHIT! I NEVER SEE THESE MENTIONED ON /A/.
It pains me I will probably never see Noriaki beat down that cocky black dude.
I should be ashamed of how much I like that manga. But hot damn, those are high tier girls.
I tried drumming up interest some years ago but with no scans online it's hard to do.
Well I guess the good thing is that there is at least a decent amount of most of his series online. They're all pretty similar
Despair, brutality, lewdness, suffering, and gore; these are my favorite things to see.
All it needs now is rape.
i-is she peeing herself too?
I doubt it. But hey, we've had some bizarre anime announcements. You can always hope.
Why yes, she is.
Finished catching up with Last Game. They've started stalling too much
>in Battle Royale they were students and in Hunger Games they were kids from 12 to 18
i'm sorry, what?
>All it needs now is rape.
>Chapter 9, page 6
What are you sorry about
He's a sorry piece of shit, that's what.
So what do your reading lists look like?
TW: shit taste
Why don't you finish some of that completed stuff or do you just keep it on there?
Old and lots of legacy shit.
I keep it on there so I can tell other weebs about them if they ever ask for recommendations.
I really need to make a list instead of having a billion bookmarks.
I used to have a bunch of RSS feeds. I still have them as backup, but yeah, it was a pain in the ass. I still follow a bunch of scanlators though.
I began reading it and came across this page.
I couldn't help but making shitty edit of it...
Does this manga shove this down at every opportunity?
its on MAL and I only update it when I feel like it or I am done with a series.
When did the evil genius scans start? Those are excellent so use those.
One Piece and Homunculus. Been torn apart deciding whether to read or watch Attack on Titan. Any advice on that? Any info on differences between the manga and anime?
I'd like to know the differences though. Like fillers, canon breaking points, etc. The animation of the anime looks good, certainly better than One Piece, and I don't want that to be in vein.
About to finish up H2. Not Adachi's best work.
You are a fucking pleb to begin with. It doesn't matter what you do with your pleb series.
Anime is fine and has a good soundtrack, but does change things up a bit.
Some scenes are condensed, similar scenes merged and the pacing can be a bit annoying at times, though not nearly as bad as when it was airing.
It does have filler, but official, author written filler that he wanted to include in the manga but didn't have time to.
Biggest change are the last two episodes. It's not a break off from the manga, but it switches things around and adds some stuff on top of it. Bad stuff, but you probably won't notice it until you read the manga.
>stupid Americans thought it was real
Man that show was retarded
I fucking hate "reality television" nowadays. Its like they are mocking your intelligence.
Only manga I'm following closely is Koe no Katachi, Shokugeki no Souma, TWGOK, and Yamada and the seven witches.
I'm trying desperately to find something that will actually be able to replace it, but no luck so far.
Guessing you've read Sumire 16 sai?
No, but it was already spoiled for me. I guess I'll read it though.
Backlog is about 1000.
Reading list is about 300
Completed list is only 150 though, either from dropping the series or the translations die. Learning nip though so the latter problem will be remedied.
taihou to stamp
Read Black Museum Springald yesterday, a manga Hox scanlated by Fujita, the author of Ushio to Tora and Karakuri Circus. It was pretty entertaining with some stylish art. The short sequel oneshot was also extremely cute.
I've also been continuing the never ending task of catching up on Ippo. I'm around volume 38, during the Hammer Nao fight. I've watched the anime up to where it currently is and have found the manga a lot better than the specials, second season, and third season. I'm looking forward to the Hawk and Sawamura fights in the manga.
Is Onepunch-Man a deconstruction of the shounen genre?
