I don't think even SHAFT can save this... the animation/design is great, and the voices are pretty good, but the writing is just terrible...
Why SHAFT work on adaptations like these?
Because they get paid to.
I think it's a pretty poor adaptation, honestly.
It would have been good if it was only about Raku and Chitoge. Unfortunately it's the blandest harem shit humanly imaginable.
is it? feels pretty boring to me. Onodera is the only good thing about this show in my opinion
Why do people expect great writing from shounen romance shows?
I'm not saying the original is all that great, it's just that Shaft is forcing their own style on it too much and the adaptation suffers for it. It's okay enough if you're watching it without having read the manga first, but as someone who still reads the manga the anime feels wrong. It's like how they handled SoreMachi.
been reading the manga since the early days
if it had be exactly like the manga I probably wouldn't have enjoyed watching it as much
Chitoge is literally the only character who has any sort of chemistry with MC. The entire premise is supposed to be about the two being assholes / tsundere for each other. Every other female character only exists to pad the harem.
It's why the oneshot is decent, it's only about the main two.
I don't know. It can't be money.
If they wanted money all they need to do is more Madoka or -monogatari.
But seeing as how this is the new Nisekoi thread, has anyone had any success getting the app to function?
I managed to get it installed on my phone (HTC Thunderbolt) and with my region set to Tokyo it will start without an error, but it hangs up at 10% and won't proceed past that.
I've had even less luck on my tablet (Asus x Prime), which is still getting the popup error despite being set to the Tokyo timezone.
I've never dealt with a chinese cartoon app that was this hard to get to work. Anybody who isn't an eleven have any success?
Girls are cute. Will keep watching.
I think the adaptation is a much-needed breath of fresh air for an otherwise standard harem.
Shaft should have done Sakura Trick (and mostly are anyway).
DEEN should've gotten this. Then we would know it wasn't worth even giving a shot.
I'm a huge Shaftfag, and even Negima was at least ok, but this shit is DROPPED.
You don't turn down that Jump money.
To have fun. These SHAFT guys really enjoy stamping their style on a show.
>downloading anything other than commie for typesetting wizardry
I don't know, I don't feel any chemistry between them right now... is so.. much... tsundere without being funny
Same reason they did sasami, doing something different than monogatari hidamari or madoka
You're not a shaftfag.
because we expect only the best from the magazine that published Naruto and Bleach.
Is this show suppose to be funny?
all the "shaftisms" in the show are actually distracting to the show. It would be so much better if they would stop with the references to their other shows every 2 mins.
>distracting to the show
You haven't read the source material have you? Shaft mannerisms are literally the only reason you'd want to watch this.
>watch generic harem
>expect generic harem
>get generic harem
What's the problem again
You can't bitch at SHAFT when they're adapting shit source material.
They're doing a decent job I guess, but the manga itself is pretty terrible. The first part is at least, then when it went to complete nonsense it got entertaining. I enjoy the pointless chapters about feeding that one dumb bitch carrots or the cake war. That's high quality entertainment.
the manga is exactly what one should expect, a light easy read that is fun.
No one expects this to be anything more then a silly little manga adaptation and you shouldn't either.
It's a generic harem.
I think most of you are trying way to hard to not have fun
Agreed. The source is beyond help, generic shit on high level. SHAFT is trying to get the best out of it.
It's not bad, but considering the story content, SHAFT's approach just doesn't feel right. I'm getting all this monogatari vibes out of this shit source material.
I think SHAFT does its best with drama interwoven with mystery. They should stay out of generic romcom.
>That's high quality entertainment
Oh the irony.
/a/ only likes the finest of anime. If it isn't the best, it's shit.
I'm loving this. Characters are fucking great, especially Chitoge. Comedy is working pretty well, too.
Yes, there's no plot. This isn't going anywhere but it doesn't have to. It only has to keep me entertained and it's doing it's job quite well so far.
/a/ needs to get off it's high horse and just enjoy some brainless fun. It can do so with so many fucking shows it just boggles my mind why this one is getting so much hate when it doesn't deserve it.
>I think most of you are trying way to hard to not have fun
There is no middle-ground with /a/, not even a mediocre ground. It either must be an EPIC MASTUHPIECE or SHITTIEST ANIME OF THE SEASON. You're not allowed to enjoy something that doesn't happen to be the greatest of all time, solely because it entertains you (even though anime is supposed to entertain you, but never mind that).
Now watch as some witty people come up with some stupid analogy about eating shit, or copy/paste what you said but change a few words around from '(name/type of anime)' to 'shit', or some idiotic unclever 'acceptance' of your differing opinion by saying something like "It's okay anon, you're free to like it, as long as you admit you're shit and the cancer killing anime" or whatever. (Seriously, I've seen these types of posts so many times, do they really think they're funny?)
She loses, doesn't she?
Just wondering if there's even a point to keep watching, but the plot strikes me as this:
Boy has childhood marriage promise.
Boy forgets childhood girl's name, remembers promise.
Childhood girl was there all along.
Boy meets New Girl he doesn't get along with.
Boy and New Girl forced to date.
Boy and New Girl learn how to love each other and eventually have a serious relationship.
All through this, Childhood Girl reveals her identity and love for Boy but is rejected because he fell in love with New Girl.
Am I right?
>eventually have a serious relationship
It looks like a romcom so far but this is a harem. There's no serious relationship.
Still, in your scenario I'd feel no sympathy whatsoever for childhood friend. Bitch already had two perfect chances to confess but decided not to. If she wants to live forever keeping her feeling repressed that's her fucking choice.
There are multiple keys.
This turns into a Harem.
>No decisive ending
Cool, all I needed to know. I'm out.
They're all childhood friends.
Whatever happened to enjoying the ride anon? Why does it have to be all about the destination?
Several keys, "new" girl has one and completely forgot about it. She eventually falls in love with him, too. There are cute moments, but the harem shit (specifically the girl with the 3rd key) kinda ruins it
They could do more Maria Holic, or SZS or Arakawa. That would have been more productive.
because from what i've read in the manga the ride fucking blows
Because the rides is filled with nothing but coincidence and misunderstanding. Over and over again and over and over again.
I've been on this ride too many times, man.
It's always the same things. I just can't anymore, I'm sorry.
Watching for SHAFT, nothing else.
This. The manga seriously pisses me off. Around chapter 50, one of the girl realizes she likes MC but fast forward 40 chapters later. No confession yet.
That's the great thing about not caring for the destination. If the ride gets boring I can just get off.
While were on the SHAFT train for a moment what happened to Maria Holic? Is the source still going?
Because Aniplex paid them to.
Who cares? The manga went to shit really fast anyway.
>Role of Childhood friend
>Role of lose girl
Is Hana Kana trying to tell us that she lose her childhood friend love?
It is exactly the same as in the beginning.
Still not shit. It's still fun to read. It's pretty good for a harem manga.
I like how people keep calling this shit, list all the things they hate about it, but continue to read it. Stop reading it.
I feel sorry for Raku because he has to put up with some bitch who hardly even acknowledges that he's human. Onodera is leagues better (as in a decent human being) so I wish she would just fucking confess.
Why couldn't the leaders have just talked things out? Oh wait, then there wouldn't be an generic, drawn out story.
I know some people don't mind "average" but this gave me absolutely no reason to keep watching it.
i read like the first fifty chapters and nothing changed so i stopped. good thing, because apparently it hasn't actually progressed at all since then.
the misunderstandings in nisekoi are handled very well; promptly concluded and don't overstay their welcome, keeping drama to the minimum and keeping the nice light hearted atmosphere
oh please that would just end the manga and would interrupt the nice, easy going slice of life pace the manga is on
besides those seemingly oneshot plotless chapters are being used developing characters
I hope you also post this on every Seitokai, d-frag, Yuri Yuri, etc, thread.
This a comedy manga, you read it for the comedy, not the plot.
The people who are hating on the Nisekoi adaptations are either ignorant or staunch mangafags who still think that Nisekoi the manga isn't just a shitty generic romance with an obnoxious fanbase. Face it, Shinbo actually made this show watachable. If he had done a frame-by-frame adaptation of this shit we would've ended up with J.C.Staff-tier garbage. Instead, he turned something utterly generic and ironically filled it with so many tropes that it is turning out to be one of the best shows this season. The art, the delicious voice from KanaHana and the ClariS OP make this show a potential masterpiece.
I predict that this show will be as good, if not outright better, than its spiritual predecessor Bakemonogatari.
Really? It's supposed to be a comedy and not about the relationships and that stupid locket and keys? Wow.
So, how are you liking your first comedy harem?
I guess it's not for you then. The chapters are episodic so I guess people looking for a good plot (in a harem manga?) are going to be disappointed.
what is a romcom?
stop being so obtuse
those stupid locket and keys? they're flavor for the story
I like enjoy reading the manga, but I really like how the anime is turning out. It feels different from the manga. It's honestly one of the best shows of the season for me.
Is it true that the gang stuff completely vanishes into the background later?
The problem I have with Nisekoi is that I think that both the rom AND com of "romcom" are bland and average. Neither bring anything new to the table nor are they particularly interesting.
Shit like Mx0 gets canned and trash like Nisekoi gets animated. There's no justice in this world. The one-shot of Nisekoi was pretty decent, but the way they are dragging this is disgusting.
No one cares about that crap, It's like in Ranma and his quest of undo his curse, It's never going to happen.
Guess I'll stick with the anime then. At least that has an end point.
No it's not. It's as generic as it gets, and there isn't a single element in the story that makes up for that fact.
You should read a few more manga before saing stuff like that.
>People defending Nisekoi
Just blow up this planet already, we don't deserve to exist as a race.
Oh my, I nearly got cut on that edge! You need to be more careful, anon. That is dangerous!
I don't care if it's generic. It's fun to read and the girls are cute as fuck. You need to learn how to enjoy things. The only other harem manga I like is Love Hina, which, now that I think about it, is very similar.
I also like how every chapter is a story of it's own. I don't have to worry about plot every week unlike every other weekly/monthly manga I'm following.
If only it was fun.
>The only other harem manga I like is Love Hina, which, now that I think about it, is very similar.
except love hina wasn't a harem and was actually good.
>no plot progression
why dont you just stare at a random string of letters and call it a story instead
I actually like Chitoge but only when she's not around Raku which is never. So, maybe I do hate her.
Couldn't agree more. Wish I could meet a nice girl like Onodera instead of the cookie cutter Chitoges that populate reality.
Then why are Space Dandy and Kill la Shit the top shows right now?
I don't mean to suggest that Nisekoi is good or anything, but you can't make the claim that /a/ as a board only likes the best shows.
>love hina wasn't a harem
Money, old boy.
>not liking Chitoge's tsundere antics
>not liking Chitoge and Raku's childish fighting
You should get that brain checked, anon.
To be completely honest, she does take the tsun too far sometimes, to the point it bothers me a bit
isn't just slow plot progression instead of no plot progression?
Also the slice of life aspect are like self contained stories on there on and actually flesh out the characters.
ease up on the hate
That isn't /a/, blame the influx of /v/ crossboarders that came and stayed for SnK, KLK and now Space Dandy.
Nisekoi is a perfectly fine adaptation. Is it boring? Perhaps, but we were all highly entertained just by watching characters talk in Monogatari last season.
No, there doesn't need to be an "Anime of the Season" every fucking season, and I think it's safe to say that if there is any anime that is the "worst" of that season, it is the one that nobody talked about, remembered or cared in the slightest that it was there.
Sadly the best girl rarely has a chance in any of these things
Nisekoi is also a love triangle then since the only girls that have a chance are Chitoge and Onodera.
There hasn't been any plot progression or any changes to the status quo for ages. right now the manga is just filler, doing cliche stories that don't flesh out anyone but just go through the motions.
Not really, all the girls in nisekoi have a chance and have had specific MC X specific girl chapters that developed their romance.
Generic reverse trap with enormous boobs miraculously hidden there. Raging, violent bitch and tsundereshit.
She's as shit and generic as rest of girls.
>Every single cliché in the history of anime mashed together
In the manga Chitoge and Onodera have the most progress. Do you honestly think Tsugumi has the same chances as Chitoge or DeraImouto the same chances as Onodera?
>right now the manga is just filler, doing cliche stories that don't flesh out anyone but just go through the motions
That's not necessarily bad or boring, just look at TLR. Same shit for ages, still gets my dick rock hard. No idea if Nisekoi can keep me entertained that long, but I see no reason not to give it a chance.
but the rest of the girls legitimately are in love with MC, and have chapters that boost their chances. A harem is still a harem even if one girl is the winner. This is different from love hina since only naru and mitsumi were realistic choices.
woops wrong picture
major plot progression happened during the amnesia arc
the fillers are nice
that parrot chapter was funny, also liked how it was straight forwardly concluded with marika just explaining stuff
and there were chapters fleshing out paula and ruri as well
TLR has other super interesting stuff though, nisekoi literally has nothing going on and just keeps introducing more characters we don't care about because the mangaka knows once he resolves the locket the manga will have nothing left.
Wrong pic again.
>major plot progression happened during the amnesia arc
What happened or changed? nothing. What did we learn about the characters? jack shit.
they found more about the book and the fourth key
and that marika is hiding something
your hate is blinding you man
No. Did you read Love Hina? It's seriously the same. There were chapters/story arcs that stared each girl.
All the girls in Nisekoi don't have the same chance. Onodera and Chitoge have the best chances of winning and this is obvious if you read the manga. How does someone like Paula have the same chances as Chitoge or even Mari?
>There were chapters/story arcs that stared each girl.
yes but they weren't about them falling in love with keitarou. In nisekoi everyone just falls in love with raku for no reason or the simplest of reasons, this is what makes it a harem while love hina is just a romance.
>TLR has other super interesting stuff though
It does? Because ecchi is all it really has. There is the occasional chapter where we get some info on a character but I'd hardly call those "super interesting", especially because none of it is interesting.
What made Love Hina not a generic harem was the ending and the fact Keitarou showed a legitimate interest in Naru and Naru only.
Look dude, you obviously haven't read Love Hina. I mean, it's been a while for me too, but I know without a doubt that they were all in love with him.
well you better go refresh your memory because no they weren't. shinobu had a crush on him in the beginning but that was it.
They needs to waste some of their Madokamoney before thinking of a way to spend their Kageroumoney.
I'm reading the manga and I enjoy the anime much more
Love Hina was a harem. Check the chapters again. I just went to a random page and he's surrounded by girls.
mainly female cast =/= harem
surrounded by girls that want the D == harem
is sekai seifuku a harem too?
surrounded by girls that want the D =/= love hina
go away b8 or at least read the manga first.
I have feeling they looked at the source material and went "fuck this shit".
according to this thread I'm the only one who has read it.
I'll give the show a decent score as long as best girl Onodera wins.
You didn't though.
your mind had been corrupted by shitty harem and moe anime that is the norm in our modern times, go read love hina and then get back to me.
You don't even know what a harem is bruh.
Shinobu had a childish crush, Kaolla never fell in love with him, Mitsune didn't either, neither did Sarah, but the other 4 did develop feelings for him. So Naru, Motoko, Mutusumi and Kanako want the D. That's half the girls.
Chitoge - Naru
Onodera - Shinobu
Tsugumi - Motoko
Marika - Mutsumi
Imoutoshit of Onodera - Imoutoshit of Keitaro
It's surprising how well that matches up.
If Onodera-okaasan's business becomes desperate, they'll be the same.
Does someone have the screencap of the Gorilla wearing Chitoge's outfit?
This. The colors I don't mind, but the crazy backgrounds, text, head tilts, etc detract from Nisekoi being Nisekoi. Visually, I think the manga had a nice thing but Shaft's characteristics have gotten repetitive and don't really seem fitting here.
She is just going to give up or plot will force her to unfortunate events again at a critical point like how it happened at romeo & juliet part
If it wasn't ring rings Onodera would win already.
Shaft literally never finds a way, they're no kyoani that's for sure.
>they're no kyoani that's for sure.
You're right, they're making loads of money while pandering.
Kyoani are pandering and not making anything in comparison to SHAFT.
They don't need to, they probably have enough K-ON! and Free! money to last another dozen original series if they want.
>Wasting good animation on Sakura Trick
There's a lot of legs and butts in Sakura Trick, but they aren't done too well. I think the show would benefit from someone drawing legs and butts better.
Sure, you didn't watch Nisekoi.
The Shaft staff are doing a great job with the light-hearted adaptation without turning it into a parody.
I'm impressed that an episode Nisekoi doesn't feel like a 25min show but way shorter.
Considering that Shaft took a lot of interesting liberties with Soremachi, but still seemed to have genuineness liked the source material judging from references made years before hand and such, it probably is just that there are no ways to bend that Shaft.
I mean, Shitoge develops feelings for beatsprout later, but her character. Never. Changes. She's actually the shittiest main female I've ever seen in my entire life. I wished best girl Onodera would win instead, but guess what, generic harem.
I would motorboat her so hard you'd think we're in the water.
It's also interesting that Shaft does have a reputation to include the original creator way more into the anime production than other studios.
Ume-sensei and Kumeta were even VAs.
It's maybe interesting to know that the PaniPoni mangaka did a cut for the Nisekoi ED.
>Why SHAFT work on adaptations like these?
Because they see the opportunity to have fun adapting something into anime.
The original mangaka for a number of Shaft titles have done end cards for other Shaft title. Kobayashi Jin did one for Madoka Magica, to give the example that comes to my mind first.
Nisekoi is fun, all the butthurt mangafags singing the same old tune is really old now. If you hate it that much then stop posting about it.
God damn Chitoge is so pretty, She's like a blonde Asuka.
Just sit back and enjoy the pretty girls and their reactions, OP. Don't think too hard about it.
Chitoge was never like the big bitch Asuka.
What kind of triangle has 6 sides.
A five-dimensional triangle.
I think Chitoge would grill you alive if you were just as spineless and dull and Shinji, luckily the MC is much more reliable so you don't see the bitchiness.
In the last chapter of the manga she's plotting to steal Keitaro away from Naru on their wedding night.
This guys, goddamit this fucking guys
Why is /a/ so tsundere for this show?
I-it's not like we really like the show, dummy. We're just watching it because it's so bad!
You mean the one tryhard troll?
The Yakuza are such bros
Why are the gangsters so shitty in comparsion
Police force > Yakuza >>> Gangsters
We haven't seen much of the police force so you can't really say much about them.
Snake still a shit in this anime
mari's police just care about the money, yakuzas are anikis and they truly love him
I want an official apology from SHAFT for animating this.
What were they smoking?
Shaft is doing a great job and the voice actors are fantastic but the whole premise seems generic and filled with cringe romance cliches with no hint of deviating from them.
The manga source is quite shit.
Shaft is incapable of turning shit into gold.
>forcing their own style
See, this is a mistake animation studios make. Being too truthful to the original.
There are things that work in manga or LNs, but they don't really work in anime, and the question is how to handle these.
A bad studio would do a 1:1 adaptation ignoring that it doesn't really work, a good studio thinks something up to close the gap between the media.
That's not forcing their own style, it's seasoning the original in order to make it consumable as an anime. That SHAFT has unique ways of achieving that is true.
Look what happened to Little Busters. In theory blockbuster content, if handled by the right studio. Instead it became lackluster garbage.
KyoAni and SHAFT know how to handle adaptations the best. Honorary mentions go to ufotable and some first-party Aniplex studios.
JC Staff, DEEN and the likes simply don't know how to do it.
The romance is the last thing you should be reading this for. The comedy is absolutely golden.
So is the top down view + skirted character spinning a new SHAFT thing? They did it a bunch in Monogatari, so I'm guressing it's another one of their head tilt things.
Top down view and skirt spinning isn't exactly new.
pic related, a top down view.
I have to disagree. Shaft certainly add their unmistakable touch to it, but I don't think that ruins it. Personally, I loved how they handled SoreMachi. I haven't read the manga of that, but that's not actually that relevant to the question of how well they're adapting it.
In any case, I have read the manga for a fair number of the other shows Shaft adapted, and in all cases I firmly believe that the liberties they took worked better for the anime than a simple 1:1 would have. And in a couple of cases, fixed things that fell a little flat in the manga.
Not really... I'm certain I saw Shinbo do that in Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko many years ago.
> dat Animation style
> dat VA
Shaft did bretty gud job, but when I think about the story again and knowing it's going to be shit that's make me really sad ;_;
Now I'm imaging Kaneda with a skirt.
Neither is head tilt. I'm just saying it seems like they're trying to make it one of their signature things.
http://youtu.be/lXX7dRULFaE (Near the end, about 4:23)
Cliche premise but SHAFT's implementation is top notch as usual and I'm loving it.
Shaft is in its golden age. A shame they're wasting talent on this bullshit.
I hope it sells buckets and the money allows them to choose better.
***,*95位/***,*85位 ★ (***,105 pt) [*,**0予約] 2014/03/26 ニセコイ 1(完全生産限定版)(Blu-ray Disc)
It quickly rose on the chart, but only 105 points now.
Honestly, it doesn't feel to me like they're aiming for the greatest manga to adapt, but that they're aiming for the ones they see the best opportunities to have fun working on.
Hell, with how well they've done out of Madoka Magica, I'd expect they're in a good enough position to hand pick the cream of the crop to work on already.
It looks like it's going to sell reasonably well.
But Mekaku City Actors and Hanamonogatari will be their big sellers this year.
Ahaha, you're funny.
>still using MAL when superior alternatives exist
Shaft is saving this series, I'm not even joking. Fuck those Shafthatters with "Shaft's style distracts the show".
It's the only good thing about this show.
Well, if Amazon doesn't add a discount in the next weeks.
Show will be heavily underestimated on Stalker, because there is no reason why people should preorder it on Amazon and not on one the shops with shops specific extras.
What extras can you get from other shops anyway?
>such saru onna tsundere
>the only good thing is Shaft's style
I think its great, I don't know why she needed to lie to him even if he is dating Chitoge but I guess its all for the dorama purpose.
T-shirt, alarm clock, CDs, towels, some just give you a special poster.
She is a goddamn osananajimi, what'd you expect of her.
How many episodes is this supposed to have anyway?
possible it will be a split-cour.
There are 12 episodes on the schedule, but the last episode doesn't indicate /final/, so either it's more than that or they haven't decided yet.
You spelled "shit with a side of dick sucking" of a story wrong.
That fucking useless bitch that can't shut the fuck up, with her 24/7 pissing menstruation and the beta fucking MC with his fucking needle dick. And lets not forget the "we just can't let the mc get his OTP without A FUCKING MISUNDERSTANDING" scene.
2 episodes in and i hate myself and everyone else for making me watch it.
Why isn't there a law that makes this shit illegal? Why is still a thing?
Even if this was just a 1ep 30sec short with the mc just saying "i love you" to that girl, it would still be more enjoyable than this piss of shit story that is only gonna live of off that one shitty fucking moment.
Fuck you SHAFT and fuck everyone who still supports this.
Go suck dicks and choke to dead
>watching romcoms for the story
Only if you cuddle
Guys, guys, I get it now!
This should be nisenisekoi, the fake one being the true one, oh god, [spoiuler] doushiou~ [/spoiler:lit] , I'm not even sure who's best girl and they spoil it all.
>In b4 slowpoke.jpg
This, basicaly. Just go back to your 2deep4u anime already, and let us enjoy simple things.
Can you write that again in comprehensible English
Stop being so horny anon.
Why would western gangsters come to japan in the first place
Make money off of people I'd assume.
I don't want 2deep4u, all I want is a nice romance story with actual romance, and not asspull disruptions or stupid misunderstandings whenever someone is about to confess their feelings.
Romcom != serious romance.
>all I want is a nice romance story with actual romance
You're watching a harem show and expecting romance? That's just retarded. I'll give you at least some leeway because the show does present itself as a romcom at first, so you can legitimately claim you've been deceived and is mad about being deceived. But to criticize the show for something it's not is just absurd.
Why is it called "romance comedy" if there is no romance?
Golden Time is also Romcom and it did what other shows couldn't. It did exactlly what i wanted.
Why can't anyone else do it too? It's overused and your "but it's romcom" excuse doesn't defend anything.
This so much
Golden Time is the new Toradora, it's more into drama.
Seeing this picture just makes me fucking sad and mad at the same time.
Fuck everything, seriously.
It's the only bad thing about that show.
It went were others wouldn't dare to. It realized the problems and it made them right.
Read my post again, it's not a romcom.
From what I heard from mangafags, every girl he meets has a key. What the fuck? How?
Why bitching when SHAFT was assigned to start with?
You know it's already dead, it's like shit working on crap and you expect something, but all you are going to have is more crap.
Shit + crap = More shit and crap
Do the math
Is she fucking even trying?
She doesn't want the dick enough to have the smallest chance of winning.
They were a trend back when he was young and the guy used to be a manslut
>Those Denpa Onna lips
I j-just canthhhhHHHHHHHGggggg
At most you can argue it was one in the beginning. But the manga clearly genre-shifted to harem.
>No gritty gang fights
>No clear romance
Well, looks like I'll end up dropping this after all
The book where the "Zvezda in love" is from is a story with one main girl who has the key to the locket and 3 princess who have keys to the doors which the main guy has to pass in order to meet main girl again.
In other words: one key is the real deal and 3 other keys are only helper elfs. So far we only have 3 keys in the story, so a 4th girl is bound to be introduced in the future.
Also, policeman girl seems to know more than she lets on. She probably knows she's just an helper elf and can't win the promise.
Do people truly expect a great story when they pick up romcoms? It's supposed to be a "turn off your brain and watch the cute girls do funny things" type of genre. It's like hating a horror anime for not having enough jokes. You get exactly what you picked up, a mindless anime made not for plot but for separate events.
So we can't expect it to be well done?
I searched for niskoi on sadpanda this morning. Life will never be the same.
Is a horror not well done because it has no jokes? You're demanding something from a show that it isn't supposed to give you in the first place. That's just retarded.
You can expect it to be well done. The difference between this anime being well done compared to something like the Monogatari series is that a well done Monogatari series focuses mostly on the plot and development (like in the LNs) while a well done Nisekoi focuses on the quirky comedy and cuteness (like in the manga).
I don't think you understood.
Fuck the jokes, if the horror movie is badly done, it still sucks.
I bet you're one of those who likes FMA 2003 instead of brotherhood, right?
>powerpoint is animation
It's «zawsze in love», so maybe the 4th girl is Polish, lol.
«Zawsze» stands for «forever», if anyone cares.
Oh, it has an actual meaning? I thought it was just some word they made up when they were kids.
That's Polish, actually.
So it probably any of the current girls, but instead what >>100539538 said.
it's probably not any of the current girls*
He was right about it being a word made up by kids then.
But all the flashbacks lead to Chitoge. The thing about the ribbon in the book also does.
shinbo is gay
They were friends back then. It wasn't confirmed that she was the main girl back then (she could've been one of the three other girls that got the necklaces too).
Does Chitoge have one?
Eh, of course. Onodera and Marika too.
Well that kinda sucks.
Oh well, as long as she wins in the end, alls good.
As much as I appreciate the gesture, take your filthy hands away from me
>Well that kinda sucks.
Why does it suck? Having a locket increases her chances of her being the destined girl.
I thought it would be some cool character development if he realized that he shouldn't be so stuck up about something that happened years ago and went for the girl who didn't have one.
In this particular case its not Manga/source fault. Its SHAFT being shit at adapting this kind of material.
He said in the manga that he's only trying to find her because of his curiosity. He's not looking to marry the girl because of some pact they made when they were kids.
I didn't even know shaft was doing this show until I saw the Shinbo Head tilt in episode 1. I thought it was Bakemono similar but when that happened for sure it was SHAFT.
Maybe they did stamp too much of their character on that show, but to be honest the show didn't have much to begin with.
This. I enjoyed the manga (in before "manga is shit" trolls. This just does not feel right. It could have been truly glorious like School Rumble or Hayate.
Nice, hopefully they'll mention that somewhere in the anime then
This kind of troll is that annoys me most.
>nisekoi is shit so shaft can do whatever with it
Fuck off. A lot of people enjoy a manga, this is while it got anime in first place. I know hundred worse titles, and i`ll still be annoyed if they were adapted improperly.
I like the anime so far. Shaft's doing a great job.
Thanks mangafags for confirming this series is shit. Fucking dropped if MC gets feelings for any girl except Onodera.
What terrible taste you have anon
Well, he only likes Onodera so far.
Are you too blind to see that him and Chitoge have already fallen for each other?
I bet you're one of those who decides who is "right" and who is "wrong" before reading their posts, right?
Not the other guy by the way.
Good, that the Shaft staff did a great job with Nisekoi.
>Buying food for Chitoge
>Commenting on how cute she is
Nope, he does not like her at all
>He doesn't know that Chitoge has a key
>all I want is a nice romance story with actual romance, and not asspull disruptions or stupid misunderstandings whenever someone is about to confess their feelings.
Then why the fuck do you consume a medium aimed at teenagers and manchildren that's been drowning in its own cliches for 20 years?
He does that a lot in the manga, to all girls. Gah.
What a manslut
Time to take the shipping goggles off.
Because the alternative is Western Romance and that is I'm sure the only literature available in Hell.
He *will* know. And then he just postpones the locket shit after the key breaks, the locket get stolen by Onodera's imouto and stuff.
You can say to any girl that she's cute. That still doesn't mean you like her.
Buying a girl food when you see she's hungry and apologizin makes you a good person and doesn't mean you like the person.
You've watched too many romcoms and don't have much experience when it comes down to real life.
But he will start liking her. That's why i'm telling you how fucking overused this shit is. It's obvious from first 2 episodes exactly where this story is going.
Because shows like Golden Time show up and give you hope that it's going to get better. They are runing out of ideas and just keep copying each other off.
Oh, you misunderstand. I talked about mad anon.
But without shipping, this show would be boring as fuck.
Why the fuck would I apologize to someone who I hated?
I laughed hard because it's so true.
Okay. Point for you, Anon.
>Because shows like Golden Time show up and give you hope that it's going to get better.
And another point. Still, Golden Time is being fucking great (and Hocchan's voice gently and roughly caresses my heart every week) but I wouldn't expect something out of a medium beacuse of one show in a decade.
Chitoge only. MC's dumb as fuck.
>Golden Time is being fucking great
How do you think of of them got keys?
>Why the fuck would I apologize to someone who I hated?
Because you'd feel bad about it? I know i apologized to many people that i didn't like.
It's because you're not an ass.
If you don't know about this then maybe you're the person that others don't like.
It's not the problem in medium. The problem is in the companies that rule over this medium and just do what they want for money.
It gives you hope that just maybe it will get noticed enough that others will take over it too.
The same think is happening with any other medium.
golden time is quite terrible in just about everything compared to toradora. I haven't read the LN yet but I'm assuming a ton of characterization and plot elements are missing from the anime.
>Little Busters. In theory blockbuster content,
AHAHAHA oh man
can we all just agree than bathrobe-senpai is best girl?
>I don't care if it's generic. It's fun to read and the girls are cute as fuck. You need to learn how to enjoy things. The only other harem manga I like is Love Hina, which, now that I think about it, is very similar.
>I also like how every chapter is a story of it's own. I don't have to worry about plot every week unlike every other weekly/monthly manga I'm following.
>Admits the manga is shit
>Blames SHAFT regardless
It's not a 9/10 for sure. I'm saying that's going the right way. It's doing something different because it wants to be.
I was pissing my pants at the scene where Koko didn't hear what Banri said. The first thing that come to mind my mind was "not this shit again" and he said again so she did hear him. That's what made me happy.
His love confession to Koko where in any other show would be during fireworks or someone else would come along so he couldn't say it to her.
They made that happen and I will love them for that.
>companies that rule over this medium and just do what they want for money.
What else would they do things for? Charity? Pleasing a handful of people on the Internet? Come on, Anon, don't be silly. I know what you mean, in theory anime can be wonderful in so many senses. But in practice those companies and their bigwigs who would sooner get a hundred yen than open the mystery box full of possibilities ARE the medium.
The problem is that no one tries to change it.
What if doing it different would actually make them profit even more?
What if everyone wants a bit of change when it comes down to it?
The problem is that they are afraid to change.
I want to believe.
Official site only has 4BDs and 11 episodes listed.
Why does everyone love the abusive tsundere and no matter what interaction the other character have as long as she punches the MC in the face enough he will sooner or later have brain damage causing him to pick the worst girl.
Because I want to puch him too
Because the other girl is poor.
Chitoge is the daughter of a gangster so she is rich, therefore I would choose her any day.
Not sure if bait or serious.
Just because she gets actual character development and Dumbdera doesn't.
>Implying you don't want a strong independent sugar mommy to support your NEET lifestyle then come home and 'punish' you for not working.
What is Mitsudomoe
Better than American humour, which is no jokes.
More like look how stupid you are or just being "racist"
American humour is much better, in my opinion. Maybe jokes don't translate well from anime or something but I have never laughed out loud at an anime before, unlike an American TV show.
Diagnosis: mother issues.
>expecting anything good about shaft
>paid for PLOT
tell me an anime that shaft has made that doesn't sexualize their characters, pro tip You can't.
Sexualizing is a part of anime. It's what makes anime "anime".
I don't mind it as long as there is some actual progress with the story and characters.
But then again the only show that i can watch and has sexualization and doesn't progress is To Lover-ru.
But it's true that it's been a long time since i watched it so my opinion might differ with the new season.
>Sexualizing is a part of anime. It's what makes anime "anime".
Actually it's animation that makes it "anime".
Thats not it, that implies that anything animated is anime.
And overused sexualization.
It's been so for long time now.
Don't try to deny it.
That'd be right if we stuck to the real meaning.
What is this
A dress-up game?
A dating sim?
An anime tamagochi?
A miracle of the universe?
I'm shitty when it comes to make images transparent.
I cut that one out, can someone work his magic on it?
just wand it in ps
No idea I just thought it looked cute
Hell I haven't even watched/read this series
If I could do that, I would have done it, no?
That's how it is in Japan.
How the hell did you cut it to begin with?
Anyway, my laptop doesn't have photoshop, and I have to get up from bed to reach my PC, so you're gonna have to wait until I finish Noragami to do it for you.
Akiyuki Shinbo is a visual genius and you people are a bunch of clits for giving all the credit to fucking SHIFT.
I've got it installed but i don't know how to play it.
someone make a gif of this scene
I know it's just nit-picking, but could you also do the tiny part at her right crook of the arm?
oops. didn't even notice that
You're the best, anon!
This is going to be great
/a/ hates tsunderes
and every time one wins
They seem to orbit around each other in to one massive single ball of butt-hurt.
kirino best girl 2013
Chitoge best girl 2014
have fun /a/
Nigger are you implying there are no manga/anime depicting adult romantic relationships?
Name three. Anime, not manga.
-Omoide Poro Poro
Kirino is way bitchier than Gorilla though.
Plus Gorilla is way cuter.
So for someone who just started on Nisekoi, should I read the manga or go with this?
The source material is always better.
Just as keikaku. No dude, no films. I want TV anime.
I'm too ignorant for that. And I'm sure it's just that for you either.
I love Shaft's SoreMachi, and I read it.
>that last episode
Chitose beats up Raku on a regular basis for little to no reason:
>girls sneak into boys bath at hotspring
>their towels fall down
>sends him flying
What about this >>100514490 one? She's not looking at the camera but it's good too.
>Kirino is way bitchier than Gorilla
I don't know man, Chitose is also all tsuntsun no dere. Well, maybe Kirino was a bit worse.
You do need to like tsunderes to be able to stand them both. I do and sometimes I still get annoyed.
Well then you can't really say I can't imply there are no shows depicting adult manga relationships, can you?
>And I'm sure it's just that for you either.
Sorry, at least one of us can't into English today. I think it's you.
I'm enjoying this show, but I've never read the manga, so it's just another interesting SHAFT show to me.
Eh, yesterday and tomorrow too.
From now on I'll only search and watch adult romance anime, then I'll come back, post about them and show you!
I don't really understand people like this. The whole point of an adaptation is to put your style on it. A bad adaptation is one that seeks to just completely copy the source. Why even bother doing it? It is kind of like making a cover of a song. It is only worth doing if you are going to put your own spin on it.
Its not bad yet, its mediocre...shaft seems to be the saving grace, but /a/ will get mad at me for saying this.
The adaptation is pretty good at this point.
It's pretty much the only reason why people are watching this while the most other manga adaptation are already forgotten this season.
REC, Tatami Galaxy, Hataraki Man.
But I'll be gone by then.
Some heavy shit, dog
style > substance
Even a movie with a bad story can be entertaining while the opposite can bore you to death.
Might aswell chuck Otona Joshi no Anime Time in with >>100549677 those aswell.
Based anon. The edges are rough, but I`m not going to be an ungrateful bitch, so thank you.
Okay, keep those in mind, even if I don't remember much of REC
And add this.
Now compare with the hundreds of shows out there. What do you get?
What do you get if you take a tanker full of black paint and add four drops of white paint? Black paint is what you get.
Yeah it's pretty shitty. I'll blame it on being distracted by something else right now
>name 3 shows
>but that doesn't count there aren't many!!!
Why even fucking ask for 3 shows if that isn't enough for you to accept they exist?
Everyone knows the manga went to shit after the R&J arc. After that, everyone was expecting someone to confess to someone but then filler after filler came out so now it's shit.
Even Koyasu won't save this... fuck, why the fuck he always get shitty series lately
>Onodera = Cum bucket for gangsters.
How would this even make sense?
Are there headtilts in this adaption?
appearantly the manga is out of stock and sold out on amazon since the anime started
tfw no Double Arts anime ever.
Kirino was not worse she only hit Kyousuke about 3 times in the anime and two in the light novel
Funfact that the ball kick kirino gave Kyousuke in the anime was not even cannon
it never happen in the light novel.
On tsuntsun lvls Chitose easily beats kirino.
kirino used her tsun as a shield to protect her self from wanting to love her brother.
Chitose uses her tsun to... well slowly kill the mc?
Maybe she has reason for all that reserved tsun.
think of tsun as a shield that protects the heart of a tsundere.
Toradora taiga had problems with her father that caused her tsun shield
Kirino had problems with manamiashit that cause her tsun shield
Chitose's tsun shield?
Isn't anime just an extanded advertisement for manga most of the time anyhow?
My original post was
>Then why the fuck do you consume a medium aimed at teenagers and manchildren that's been drowning in its own cliches for 20 years?
Then Anon says I can't imply there are no shows depicting adult romantic relationships (note the autistic thought pattern: From "a medium aimed at manchildren" to "THIS GUY SAYS 0 SHOWS EXIST THAT DEPICT THIS! I MUST TELL HIM HOW AT LEAST 0+1 SHOWS EXIST!!").
He's obviously blind to reason so I ask him to name three shows to confront him with reality. He was unable to, as you can see, resorting to naming movies, a different medium.
Now other Anons come and name four shows. Well done, but as I just wrote, my request to name three shows wasn't some hurdle I imposed as if any dude who could name them would "beat" me. I just wanted the guy to think about how rare those shows are.
You could name four. Great. Congratulations. You don't win anything.
Yes, some adaptations are doing it better than other.
Sure thing pal. Keep up the backpedaling after your claim was proven wrong. I don't understand how people can be so insecure they can't even admit to being wrong on an anonymous imageboard and have to come up with elaborate stories to rationalize it.
Ok, here's the problem, anon. You're comparing a very average, run-of-the-mill show with two pretty good ones. Chitose has no deeper reason for being the way she is.
But back to why I said maybe Kirino was a bit worse: Chitose does show some dere in the first couple episodes while Kirino holds up her tsun wall for a very long time.
About MC getting hit: that's just slapstick comedy.
A-tier fansubbing here from FFF. What did HS have for this? Just a bland line as usual?
I bet that background will be changed for the BD.
Will be changed to African plains.
I love Chitoge and absolutely hate Kirino.
Kirino has no reason to be a bitch to her brother. I mean, even when Kyousuke acts like a good and kind older brother, she's being a bitch to him. Chitoge, on the other hand, when she's being a bitch, Raku is also being a jerk at the same time. At least the feeling of hatred is mutual for both of them.
And I don't understand how people can find stupid challenges where there are none.
If some kind of "trap card" function were implemented (and I think that'd be very fun), I'd have wrote "backpedaling" in the back of the post where I asked him to name three shows.
>not a challenge
Keep deluding yourself buddy.
>more shit for the shit God
If it's not great, it's shit.
Get with the program.
I hope you're aware that "style over substance" is an accusation, not a commendation. It's practically the exact opposite of what you wrote.
Well, at least choldhood friend will win this time.
This show is great solely because of Shaft. If it didn't have this fantastic style it'd be boring, but the visuals and direction make it great. You can take nearly any frame and it looks great. And it's needless to say it's much better in motion.
Style can BE substance. See Redline. Did it have an interesting or deep story? Fuck no. But it had kickass music and great animation and it made it a great, fun ride.
That's wrong you moron. The claim that something is style over substance can be positive or negative depending on context, it is an observation without value judgement embedded. Something can be better or worse for being style over substance depending on situation.
The classroom is kind of ugly.
Yeah, writing and direction are horrible. I don't know how shit the source is (very much, I heard), but an adaption can often turn it around. Unless they got some heavy limitations on how much they could strive from the source material (and I'd think that meanwhile SHAFT has enough financial liberty and pull in the industry to have significant influence onto their projects), they really fucked up with this one.
I now fully expect this to develop into another Sasami, falling apart after the first few episodes.
Your life must be full of challenges everywhere, Anon. So exciting. Congratulations, you are now a monkey.
How about this: Redline simply didn't have substance.
That's nonsense. You can do very entertaining series with a very simple story and plot.
It's all about how you deliever the various elements of the story. Character interaction, comedy timing etc.
Well it certainly doesn't look to be a flop like Sasami-san. Currently being the second highest ranked airing anime on Amazon.
Style is empty and - in order to come to such a ridiculous conclusion - it would have to be taken out of the context. An intriguing story can be told even with the lowest of production values and still grip the viewer, while watching colors and shapes is just that, colors and shapes, a nice look, an empty vessel with nowhere to go, with no purpose.
Watch it, forget it - it's just wasted potential.
I'm not. I'm not even sure OP is still here, after twenty hours.
Okay, I decided to give this a try but wanted to watch Bakekoi first, and can't find it anywhere. Can someone point me to a torrent, please?
You clearly don't appreciate animation. Shut the fuck up pleb.
You know nothing about the function nof style in fiction.
It's the most important component of fiction.
Why are people surprised that works by the same director should have the same style? You wouldn't be surprised if a musicians songs sounded similar or an artists painting were done the same way.
I don't see it. Most of the stuff seems rather bland, like the classrooms. SHAFT seems to love rulers a lot, masses of straight lines that are rather easy to draw. The only thing that stands out from the usual fare is the MC kneeling in the grass, it's a nice shot - but worth to watch a whole episode for?
And then a horrible story on top of that, it's just too much. Or too little.
It's like people don't understand why somethong pointless like K-On! is so popular and well acknowledged although it's just about a bunch of girls doing nothing.
You can turn everything into something entertaining if you make it interesting.
>I don't see it.
But K-On characters were cute, not annoying. I wanted to pat them, not strangle them.
If you can't see how that is creative and stylish compared to most anime then I would say the problem is with you. The composition of the shots clearly has had thought put into it over and above just showing you what happens which is a rarity in anime to begins with. Lots of interesting bold use of colour going on and some pretty good lighting.
I like Nisekoi, but saying that the manga does have any kind of substance it's just lying to yourself.
Shaft fags pls. Shaft does not shit gold.
It felt like watching monogatari but with nisekoi characters in it.
It just didn't fit.
>I have only ever seen 1 SHAFT show
I've seen a few but it was almost the exact same style as monogatari.
Pro-tip: They all are.
>confirmed for not knowing shit
Well, at least they're doing a great job with the faces.
That's the difference
D-Frag is pretty misleading. It's one week older than Nisekoi.
Sadly, looks like it has more downloads than Nisekoi.
Because it's a week older.
>/a/ in charge of addition
I am wondering where all these people defending what the manga has become came from.
Also it's said that the storybook doesn't have a happy ending.
It's implied whoever is the real girl is going to lose.
It must be Onodera then.
Okay, so I just watched the first two episodes and I gotta say ... holy shit, this is the most retarded nonsense I've ever seen. After reading some posts here it seems the manga is even worse? Or is the adaption shit?
Well doesn't matter actually, since I wouldn't have the time to read manga, but well, I expected so much more from SHAFT. This is Sasami level of horrendous, but Sasami at least had an intriguing artstyle, while this is just same old, same old.
It's not even trying anymore. Writing the same post over and over again.
This show isn't even fun, I hate the two main girls is there anything worthwhile here?
Just check the image with foolz. It's a retarded shaft troll.
>Shaft is forcing their own style on it too much and the adaptation suffers for it
Can we agree that Koyasu is the only reason to wach this show?
I'm watching it for:
-Chitoge top-tier tsundere
-Chitoge x Raku childish fighting hilarity
-Various amusing comedic events
You missed the most important one.
>Glorious side characters OTP
This. They may have money now, but they're still a business.
Though I hoped they'd steer clear from the most retarded stuff... like Nisekoi. Either this was the only project available or they get paid a massive ton of money to waste their name on this franchise.
I haven't seen anyone defending the manga for months.
Everyone stopped defending it ever since THAT scene.
Seriously it was just thread after thread of /a/ being pissed off.
>isn't Shaft an advertising company?
onodera is pretty
"THAT" scene? which one?
Onodera confesses and Raku falls asleep.
Stop giving me reasons to drop the show. I want to watch it for SHAFT and Onodera but FUCK.
You should have been here when it happened.
Shitstorm for weeks.
I don't remember when it happens but I think it happens after the R&J arc, which is probably the point the anime is going to end so we're not going to get that far.
Yeah, and Nisekoi was pretty shit to begin with. I really do wonder how much Shaft got to do this adaptation.
No one can save Nisekoi, seriously.
If you're bad at writing, at least try to be creative, maybe someone can save you at anime adaption.
The author himself fucking sucks at everything. It's beyond help.
