protect that smile
God damn it Miuna you make my heart a storm.
H-h-have I found a waifu??
symbolism in the ED
Everything is misty and dream like
Windmill old and rusted
It is summer again(no ice)
Manaka not showing her face and always looking at the ocean
7 Paper planes, 6 focused in the final shot
this ED messed with my head badly and gave me the feels especially the song
you think we will be able to interpret it?
You can read so much shit into it, I doubt it.
Ill be honest there's probably a reason Manaka post-timeskip has not been shown at all. Sure we can say oh its because they want to keep it a surprise but >>100500652
predated episode 15.
She wakes up after many years and everyone she knew is long dead.
you realize this key visual has them watching the Tomoebi
just like episode 13 depicts Manaka falling in the bottom of the sea. Episode 13 epilogue shows Manaka walking around in the future
Do you think this has the potential to be Okada's Opus? Manaka meets
So are they fish or what?
I hope Kaname will be happy.
Chisaki will win the Hikari.
you realize Manaka's plane is pink. The one that soars the highest is pink while the one that gets let behind is whiteblue
She wrote the entire second half of Simoun, so nope.
The hard part is trying to figure out which paper plane corresponds to who so we know what the symoblism is
NnA being Okada's Magnum Opus? I'd say up till now, probably. I'm enjoying it better than AnoHana which I had thought was her best work before hand.
AnoHana seemed to have time and budget constraints. I don't see that in NagiAsu
I keep finding more and more parallels to Kimi ga Nozomu Eien in this second half. The whole idea of moving on while someone else is stuck in the past is an interesting setup. While this show deals with something completely different (hibernation), the drama remains the same.
I really don't necessarily like the idea of the show moving in that direction though. Especially with Mari Okada as the first mate on the ship of drama and despair.
when will this happen
When Miuna is saying goodbye to the sea after HIkari and Manaka go to have more babies once Hikari takes over the role of Sea God, thats why Miuna has a sad look on her face.
I want to sniff that fishy armpit.
purple hair, blue eyes, voiced by Ai Kiyano
Wrong thread? This is not The Fool thread
Chisaki is better anyway
I wonder if they'l find themselves in the school again....
Not if you're this guy, anon.
last episode they will put Manaka's hibernating body in a shrine/tomb where everyone visits her until she wakes up. She wakes up and finds her uniform neatly placed in a chest near her. She dresses up and leaves her shrine revealing its summer already. The time she wakes is ambiguous
Being Manaka is suffering
so how will the Scale make his appearance?
I hope the ED is just to make everyone wildly speculate then it'll actually have nothing to do with it
I don't really like Manaka but i'd rather she didn't live an eternal life of being alone and suffering
he'll probably wake up temporarily in the latter episodes
>TsumuguxChisaki is inevitable
I'm so fucking pissed off. Why is he so shit?
Chisaki can do much better than that drab little cunt.
I hope Kaname comes along soon and murders him, or he drowns while trying to jerk off a fish or something.
I hope its just that: Temporarily
Daily reminder Tsumugu is going to smashin' that fatty Tuna
He looks so sad in episode 15 ;_;
Stop it. It won't happen if I ignore it, r-right?
Stop the Tsumugu hate.
Stop the Kaname hate.
END IT NOW.
I feel your pain. I've been trying to convince/trick myself into liking this pairing but it's not working.
Tsumugu & Kaname > Miuna & Sayu.
Those two are just liked because they were little girls once. But they are the most boring characters in the show, specially Miuna.
This is bait
Are you stupid? Of course it's not bait.
I'm gonna knock u in the gabber m8 i swear on me mum
>No more dolis
Shitty character who dragged down the show with her M-MUH MOOOM drama. Fuck, I wanted her to drown so badly.
Town is stil covered in ice
Kaname is fine, but Tsumugu is so unlikable.
He has no redeeming features. None. They even had to give him superpowers just to make the girls like him
What a load of shit. The fact that he's almost guaranteed to win the best girl is just salt in the wound.
I'm not particularly fond of Miuna or Sayu. They're okay, and cute, but that's about it.
You're not alone
Tsumugu did nothing wrong.
What superpowers? Are you dumb or something? He's just quiet, stoic and mature, who doesn't bring up his drama to rub it on people's faces like the majority of the cast.
He won't win Manaka, so I don't see what the problem is. Chisaki is so overdramatic, she needs someone like him or she'll likely kill herself sooner or later.
This. Stop to say that Tsumugu deserves anyone, because he's shit.
I can taste your shit taste through my monitor.
Stop fucking fighting over your ships and enjoy the ride.
Chisaki annoyed me when she had to be comforted when Tsumugu's grandfather was the one affected. Fucking selfish bitch.
>I need my characters to say their emotions out loud or wear them on their face at all times to understand!
Manaka is a crybaby but she's the strongest girl in the whole fucking cast. How isn't she best girl? Chisaki's allright too, weak and meldramatic but interesting.
Sayu is boring and Miuna's shit.
He can tell what a girl has been up to by looking in their eyes. It's nonsense, and it's a cheap convenient way for the writers to make the girls fall for him.
He has no other interesting or likeable qualities, other than he thinks fish a pretty.
Tsumugu is observant and wise. But sometimes his advice backfires (See Chisaki, Miuna and Hikari). How isn't being a melodramatic drama queen despite having a lot of troubles not a likeable quality? Holy hell, I like a lot he apologized immediately for dragging Manaka and Chisaki to avoid his mother. Women like men who appear self-reliant and dependable. It's hardly surprising that Chisaki likes Tsumugu.
Who is the competition? Kaname?
>He can tell what girl has been up to by looking into their eyes.
Well first off Manaka and Chisaki wear their emotions and thoughts on their sleeves. Manaka especially to a fault made her easy to read for anyone. Even the characters comment on it. With Chisaki he has lived with her for five years. He knows her body language and thoughts well enough from that time.
>Chisaki likes Tsumugu
LIES LIES LIES.
I swear the amount of shippingfaggotry here is equal to Tumblr's.
I think the series has given a very strong illusion that Manaka is the strongest character in the cast. Virtually everyone else, save maybe Akari, have shown to be much stronger characters without actually taking action. Manaka showed to be worse than Chisaki in admitting about change, worse than Tsumugu in covering up what really matters and fails to protect anyone like Hikari.
She's literally the embodiment of what is wrong with her friends, and I hate her with a burning passion. She's just awful.
>knowing how tumblr is like
It's shitty, but might as well accept it. It looks inevitable.
Holy shit, people who don't like TsumuguxChisaki. I thought I was the only one.
Except every in the show admits Manaka is the strongest of the cast? She's their center. She's the one who swims forward and matures leaving them behind. She's not mature in love and oblivious and that's about it. She was portrayed as a coward first and shed away all that and became the bravest of all of them.
Probably because you're samefagging in this thread.
Look at how much the group falls apart when she isn't there. Perhaps she pulls them down because she keeps them as a unit, so they can't move forward. There's two sides to the coin, here.
I personally like it but there were some people who voted against it in the poll.
Not really, but you're free to think that.
That's their fault and not hers. They are the ones who rely on her. This was spelled aloud in the first cour. She was always the most independent of them and all they were doing was trying to keep her at arms length.
>lost family, friends, home
>has to live in an unfamiliar environment as an outsider
>gets taken in my ojii-san, he's like family to her after living with him for 5 years
>has a breakdown when she thinks she's about to lose something precious again
Yeah, what a bitch. Fuck you.
And who has grown the most in this series? The rest of them. They are moving forward without her, slowly. She's left behind. She's not really strong. She's a crybaby if nobody is around her. I've watched these dynamics in real life and it's a serious two-sided coin. It's honestly a 50-50 split. It all depends on the scenario and context.
He was Tsumugu's grandfather. His only relative, since he's estranged with his family. She's a bitch for being inconsiderate to his feelings.
>And who has grown the most in this series?
Manaka. Again, in the first cour. It was Manaka the one who grew up. None of them grew up a lot, now they are fucked without her and look depressed.
Oh fuck off Manakafag,
Then don't bring growth, character development or any of that bullshit into these threads, leave and don't discuss again. The author is intentionally trying to make interactions as realistic as possible.
Manaka never ever grew up. I have no idea where the fuck you get this idea. People like her are completely disillusioned that they are moving ahead of others and fail to realize they depend on others more than others do on them.
Why you are so hung up on thinking she developed at all is beyond me. She showed nothing of development but just acting of her own whimsical desires. It doesn't ever imply shes grown or that shes ahead of anyone. It means shes stupid enough to do whatever.
Seriously, how did she grow up. Stop saying she did and giving no evidence.
but she did. The moment she stopped being wishy washy and when she started completing her sentences. When Tsumugu told her she was cool when she takes initiative. You havent been watching the show. Of all the characters wrom the sea she actually has stronwill to make things happen and being a crybaby is just an exterior. Chisaki has hell of a lot more issues and baggage than Manaka. Once Manaka sees everything in perspective she just gets there and takes initiative. That's great for someone who's only 14. Her biggest growth was growing out of Tsumugu and actually seeing Hikari as man after his character development
Yeah, I guess she just shouldn't have had a breakdown, that bitch. Don't you see how stupid you're being?
>His only relative, since he's estranged with his family.
Her only relative, since she lost her family.
And friends. What a fucking retard.
And Hikari did most of this better, and then some. He was a brat, stuck up and unaware of any of his friends feelings unless they started crying or got mad at him. He began to think before he acted, stood up for people and even managed to force other characters to change around him. He managed to get Manaka and Akari to look at what matters most to them and managed to help Miuna realize that she needs to look forward.
If you honestly think that Manaka still being a crybaby as a front and looking foward is a real progression, it's not. It just means shes more aware, and light years behind Hikari.
>Growing out of Tsumugu and seeing Hikari as a man
Who pushed her out of that? Oh, that's right. Hikari, after he changed considerably.
>Chisaki has a lot more baggage and issues than Manaka
Which means she has much more room to develop, and she's likely going to make her changes now, given the events that are unfolding. I'd wager Miuna is next, as well, as she needs to move forward.
Oh and by the way, Hikari has to start changing and moving forward drastically a second time. After all, this time skip has radically changed those who were alive. Expect him to change and help everyone forward, again.
Manaka is a drag down and baits everyone into their fucking shells and does nothing to help them. She's truly the bitch of this story, and it doesn't show unless you dig down into the details of things. Seriously, fuck Manaka.
Not to mention she still hasn't moved on Tsumugu. Sure she saw Hikari as a man, but at the same time she considers Tsumugu as her sun.
being this angry at a character. projecting much? It's not Manaka's fault that her friends are using her as a crutch
Manakafags have been getting pretty salty lately. I'm sorry your generic Hanakana childhood friend character is now a cumdump of the Sea God.
If she was so developed she'd move ahead on her own and let them teach themselves how to do things on their own. She's weak if she can't find the strength to do that. It only goes to show she's just as weak and depends on them even more.
hey guys what was Manaka's wish to sea slug? Will that be relevant later?
But that's Miuna's role.
Considering it's symbolically with her in the OP, you bet it will. I think she confessed to Hikari there. Hikari's bound to find the seaslug and use it to rescue Manaka.
I just don't understand why there's any reason to dislike a character from this show. They aren't horrible human beings and they are actually struggling and growing through the hardships they face.
Why call it angry if he gives a detailed statement towards an arguably believable argument rather. Instead of attacking him offer a rebuff.
Even from episode 1 Manaka was someone who was more willing to interact with the Land Dwellers than the other 3. She really hasn't grown much in comparison to Hikari and even Chisaki.
It ruins their pathetic wishful thinking shipping. Guiltiest ones are the ones who self insert in Hikari and waifufag.
>watch the op
>swimming like a vertical snake
Sometimes I'm annoyed how black and white /a/ is. Why do you always need to shit on characters when praising others?
That wasn't her arc, idiot. Her arc was that she was a coward, who needed Hikari to overprotect her and couldn't finish her sentence. In the course of the first cour, she became the one who protected Hikari AND everyone else, finished her sentences, stood up for what she believed and didn't let anyone bully her (like Hikari did).
The three friends she had realized she was growing out of them and maturing. Hikari was forced to change so he wouldn't be left behind. With his change, Manaka started seeing him as a man.
Because that is the nature of the beast.
By the way your waifu a shit.
because she didn't have to have as much growing to do. All she needed was to become more assertive and that she did. Hikari had to be less controlling and arrogant. Chisaki has to get over her fear of change. Manaka had to do less growing and that is why the others sling to her to so much
All I know is I need some Chisaki NTR doujins to ragefap to
we'll we get to see Tsumugu cry before this show ends
For the same reason Noe ended up crying in True Tears
What do you mean by beast?
>she became the one who protected Hikari AND everyone else, finished her sentences, stood up for what she believed and didn't let anyone bully her (like Hikari did).
>(like Hikari did)
And who did it better? And who pushed her to do so? It's possible to claim that Tsumugu was her catalyst to growing up and Hikari pushed her over the edge, but she never had the time to develop and got sucked up. She had her time to try to finally show she was ready to get her shit together, and instead was taken away by the Sea God. No matter how much anyone wants to claim she changed a lot or is strong, she is ultimately the epitome of weak if it took her to her last moment to finally make a confession.
And when I say she's the worst like I did in >>100512541 and saying shes a bitch, I don't think she doesn't have room to grow, I feel she failed to meet the growth of improvement she began to open for herself. Whatever she said when she was being sucked into the whirlpoon/vortex was her first step, and possibly her last.
It's almost like Shakespeare, to be honest. Comically tragic. Finally gets her shit together only to be taken away when she finally takes her first step.
Manaka changed first: she started talking back, started to be independent, started to be proactive, started to rely on Hikari.
Hikari developed romantic feelings on her who wasn't just his moe protect accessory but growing a spine. So he changed himself into be less of a controlling asshole.
Only when he did this, Manaka started liking him back. They matured and their mutual change affected them. In the end, Manaka grew the biggest balls to take Akari's place. The rest of the characters haven't pulled something so impressive yet. Hikari is great too.
Tomoebi episode is the turning point for Manaka;s character. The last lines of Hikari was really telling.
Kaname:That's Manaka for you, without thinking she's already ahead of us
Hikari:... even if she's the crybaby
...even if she's Manaka
you know what? After this episode Hikari was forced to acknowledge Tsumugu and Manaka and wanted them to be happy
The wrathful, elitist beast that is /a/.
He'll cry when he loses his jiisan.
Okay, but WHY is it the nature of /a/ is my question.
Miuna isn't even covered by ena, stop this shit.
Episode 6 has Chisaki being a child and Manaka trying to be reasonable
What's with the hype about Miuna? She's only there because the writers needed to further develop the love triangle (more of a love hexagon really) so they decided to add in yet another female character who has a crush on Hikari. She's going to end up broken hearted at the end because Hikari will definitely end up with someone else.
I like these new turn of events. Tsumugu used to give advise to everyone. Now he is completely lost.
I'm going to have to agree with >>100510486 because there is no way Chisaki likes Tsumugu. It's obvious he likes her but she's too in love with Hikari right now
you misunderstand. Chisaki already has closure with her feelings with Hikari. Her issue lies in changing and leaving her friends behind and having her loved ones being taken from her.
However, as much as I hate the idea, Chisaki will probably end up with Tsumugu. They're the only important characters in each other's age group, and there has been a small amount of romantic build up. You know, blushing and touching and shit.
I can hope that she and Tsumugu stay separate, but there is no way Chisaki is ending up with someone other than him.
Is it just me, or have the girls gotten better ever since Manaka died? I feel really attracted to Chisaki in particular.
Whenever I see her sad face I feel really turned on. I have this real impulse to touch her sweater puppies, too.
I think she definitely attempted to rid her feelings of Hikari after 5 years and she did a pretty good job, but her reaction when Tsumugu told her that Hikari was back proved that she still has a lot of feelings for him. She'll probably end up with Tsumugu anyways though If Manaka is alive[/spoiler]
I can't undertand why people don't like ChisakixTsumugu? I never saw it coming but after a rewatch, seeing their interactions it just clicked. Though the most overt was the scene in episode 9, there were scnes as early as episode 3 where Tsumugu would bring Chisaki out of her comfort zone. Espescialy that scene where Chisaki wanted to cover up Sayu's deed to make Hikari not look bad.
Also, Kaname always just agrees with Chisaki, he tags along because he likes her and makes comments about Manaka disappearing so that Chisaki would be happy despite consquences.
Kaname was never threatened or jealous of Hikari, but he loses it when Tsumugu gets involved
Ughhh yeah, I guess the whole Chisaki saving Tsumugu on the boat part was supposed to foreshadow it. I really hate the idea of her with Tsumugu though.
I was neutral at first, but after timeskip I want Chisaki to be happy. She suffered too much.
chisakixtsumugu had seeds planted as early as the first few episodes
those damn pillars in the OP
What about them?
Lot of us have hindsight bias now, we all thought it was going to be Manaka x Tsumugu and either Chisaki or Miuna for Hikari.
Okada really did a good job in making me think that would happen atleast.
Do anyone know what they are? I'm guessing abandoned piers leftovered from some railroad project or something.
Egawa and Sayama being dicks
As you'd expect from the master.
Kaname was the most mysterious at first. A lot of people thought he liked Manaka because it was almost like he was trying to help Chisaki get with Hikari.
You know who wasn't either? The landfag the sea god married? She was a woman of the surface and she has long black hair in the paintings.
Wait, you're serious? You think Chisaki was ever in love with Hikari?
They have yet to be addressed in show, but I'm going to guess they were for some kind of bridge, but then the fish people and land people probably fell into the problems we see at the beginning of the series (probably part with how Oofuneki had stopped happening), and the project was canceled.
Cause you can see some of the pillars start to go right through part of the town area under the water.
You want strong will Manaka? She fucking told off a teacher and walked out of the school
It was there since episode 2. Chisaki was flustered and blushing when she talked to Tsumugu alone.
So convincing, hair, your speculah is shit.
>implying she was
Having a childish crush because she's infatuated with the idea of never changing isn't real romantic love.
You're disregarding the show specifically says it has to be a "woman of the surface". You're also diregarding the names of the characters are meaningful.
Hikari means Light. Manaka means Center. Uroko means Scale. Miuna means Sea Beauty and in the past she was drawn into the sea.
The visual representations of the god is like Uroko and the woman could be a grown up Miuna.
She's just a slu- ah, I mean, emotionally susceptible.
She genuinely loved Hikari, but when some mysterious land-faggot who can sweet-talk fish onto his plate starts taking an interest, of course she'll be a bit flustered.
Teenage crushes is about as far as any of the romance in this story goes. And you're talking as if she was never attracted to anything about Hikari. She loved his protective nature and spirited attitude towards things.
>She genuinely loved Hikari
They were taking out and burning the garbage and she got all hot and bothered because "stop being so kind."
>Teenage crushes is about as far as any of the romance in this story goes.
Growing out delusions of love and maturing into real love is what the show is about. She loved Hikari's attention on Manaka and that's about it. She loved what he stood for because she's too much of a coward to get outside her box. Similarly of how Manaka 'loved' Tsumugu because he was the embodiment of things outside, fishing her up and changing her world. It was not real love. Ditto for Chisaki.
>I'm in love with the person you are now
Hilarious. Well, at least one of you gets it.
Yes. You post it. She doesn't love him, she loves what he is for Manaka. What he is for everyone, he's keeping the group unchanged, she's a character terrified of change.
That's the entire fucking point of her infatuation.
This show is a masterpiece in the making. Thank you based PA Works, Buriki, and Mari Okada.
wait what? Why did Uroko sama know Miuna didn't approve of Akari?
Miuna is his future wife.
another piece of evidence that Uroko is Hikari?
Who cares, the show is setting it up for the inevitable Tsumugu x Chisaki end anyway, no matter how shitty it is or how much these fangirls try to convince us it's not shitty
Manaka was chosen by the Sea God as his mate during the sacrifice. He doesn't care if its a landfag or a fish, as long as its both a sacrifice by the land people during the Ofunehiki and someone who can pop out fishes. The only way Miuna is going to take her place is if Manaka dies.
UW-Vivid: "Some were convinced that the Sea God was angry at man's ingratitude and avarice, so they sent young girl's out on little boats to sacrifice them to the sea god."
CR: "Thinking that the Sea God might have been angry, the people offered a girl as a sacrifice, and sent her out in to the sea as a boat."
Nowhere did it say that it had to be specifically a land dweller.
But even Hikari said when he left the ocean 5 years later is he hasn't changed so he's still the same person from that night
Man this show really does have some fucking great scenery porn.
I am surprised this became the show I look forward to the most each week as I wasn't expecting anything when I picked it up.
I don't even like Tsumugu x Chisaki, but there's no other pairing for them, either they end up together happily, or they both end up alone.
Based Okada. I will never doubt her again.
Or Chisaki ends up with Kaname...
Imageswap? If yes: hilarious
So, Manaka's been the Sea God's cum dumpster for the past 5 years? How will Hikari take it?
I want to have sex with these fish
what did Uroko sama say
It probably was considering the file name.
This scene made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He was just so happy to see his bro
By the way, the nagi eds are glorious.
how grand will is return be
the pendant shown on the Ofunehiki flagin OP2 is the shining rock Manaka's Slug spat out
Hikaris mom is named Hokage
Don't joke like that Hikari
She even decided for herself to start calling him Tsumugu. During the HikarixTsumugu scene where everyone decided to call him Tsumugu, she kept quiet, until later she was found calling him by first name.
Hahaha oh shit fuck Okada
That's the sun, anon.
he said he wouldn't go to college either
I thought that too but its an actual pendant watch it again
What is the Pendant though? Maybe its what the Sea Slug threw up, or maybe its something that is bought in a future episode.
Maybe its tells the end of the Ofunehiki if that Pendant is Manaka's for being the Sea God's waifu
If you look closely you can see the pendant's string wrap around the pole.
it is pretty suspicious that Uroko knows that Miuna did not approve of Akari. I mean the word is out that Akari was dating a surface dweller but no one knew that the daughter did not accept her. There is only two other people that knew that Miuna did not approve of Akari. Sayu and Hikari
You can only dream
Uroko is also a god that probably have some sort of clairvoyance. Can't forget about that.
he only has clairvoyance with things underwater, that's why they asked him if Miuna fell in and drowned. I doubt he is Omniscient
There will be naught but LIMITLESS RAGE if Mari Okada drives the Miuna ship into the iceberg known as Manaka.
Since Akari is a fish, he probably has some knowledge of what's going on around her, even if she's on the surface.
psycho a sore loser
Props to the VA for Hikari's breakdown scene on the boat
That's the strap attaching the flag to the pole. Look below and you'll see the other one.
It's inevitable. You may as well release all your anger now, so you can love Manaka when the time comes.
I hope he drowns Tsumugu for his hubris.
Not that guy, but it's absolutely a pendant.
Watch it animated in the OP. It's as clear as day; the string and everything.
Tsumugu is a slut. He just want to stick his dick in anything with a scaly cloaca.
His anger seems way out of character too. Well, he never really had a character, I suppose.
Why does everyone hate Tsumugu? He's just a male Rei clone.
>affirms hikari still only sees her as his childhood friend and nothing changed
>meanwhile, tsumugu being all suave as shit after accidentally walking in on her instead of spilling his spaghetti and being punched like what normally happens in my chinese cartoons
This makes me laugh so much, especially since the water looks like the sky with cirrus clouds and its some cheap continuous background with Kaname magically falling out of the sky.
monster girl fan please go, NNA might have too much NTR for you
So what's the deal with the world? Post apocalyptic? Why is everything rusted on the surface?
some people on /a/ can't self insert as the cool as fuck silent dude who gets all the chicks
I wonder if Tsumugu has ever masturbated to Chisaki's underwear.
It's pretty hard to without a fedora and trenchcoat on.
Because it's an old rundown town populated primarily by poorfag fishermen.
All the money is invested in the nearby city.
Even poorer now thanks to the fact their fishing spots are covered in a foot of ice.
I saw someone walking on campus with a Fedora and Trenchcoat and some sort of metal band t-shirt
I never knew this was really a thing.
the way he grinned when Hikari said Uroko doesn't know anything about him.
Of course, Uroko knows what he did to Hikari.
All right, I kept my promise.
Honestly, he showed more emotion than I expected.
Go back to tumblr ya landwhale
Wow so deep
All that soulless face. Being Tsugumu is suffering
He was raped by his parents, it's understandable.
Rewatching 10, it made it seem that the whole Ofunehiki was really just irrelevant. Calamity is still going to happen to the surface in 50-100 years which is why everyone went to sleep regardless and that is because the people abandoned the Sea God. In addition according Uroko the first time the surface was in trouble a girl swam down and pleaded with the Sea God to spare humanity.
Is there a possibility that Manaka also takes up this position? As far as we know Humanity was doomed Ofunehiki or not, we do not know neither the details of Manaka's question for the Sea slug nor what the Sea Slug foretold it would be, and after all she was swimming down towards the Sea God when she asked the Sea Slug to take her instead of Akari.
Tsumugu is a good boy.
Ever since Manaka disappeared I've been taking a real liking to Chisaki. Not only is she pretty but she's also very mature compared to Manaka but she knows there's nothing she can do about anything, which explains that incredibly beautiful 'hopeless' face of hers. The lolis are also really great and it's interesting how they got 2 side characters to become important so quickly.
Akari is still the worst girl.
>Akari is still the worst girl.
This. Even she knows she's the slut
She's a shitty person but I still like her.
Yaoi> Hikari x Tsumugu
Yuri> Manaka x Chisaki
Loli> Uroko x Miuna
>Uroko x Miuna
Akari would be ok if she was just the hot MILF with the hot step-daughter loli but we had to waste like 7 episodes on her arc with her shitty spineless husband
I just want Chisaki to get the shota dick she craves but it ain't gon happen
Why is this show so fucking underrated?
because the AOTY almost always is
i mean what else really great aired in 2013
At least Akari's halfbreed son didn't turn to rock like another character her seiyuu played
Interviews with the staff says second cour will be more like a fairy tale instead of a story about youth.
I hope Hikari goes to wreck the sea god or some shit. Even that crack theory about him being Uroko seems awesome
Appreciate it because if not for it being underrated, these threads would be complete shit.
maybe Kaname will be Uroko's little minion for second arc. He reports back to him.
It's a tie between Uchouten and NnA for me.
I just hate it that kyoani crap sells more when PA Works has visuals AND story.
what does the title of ED2 translate to?
I want to buy NagiAsu and HanaIro BDs.. they look beautiful
The other girls were always great, especially Chisaki. It's just first half was all about Manaka, MANAKA, MANAKA!! DO YOU LIKE HER YET?
>implying they haven't been complete shippingshit recently
I miss the slow threads.
>Uroko x Miuna
What kind of pairing is that?
Remember when we thought this would be like The Little Mermaid?
its way more popular now, theres a thread constantly up
we used to have a 250 reply thread once a week
I'm surprised Hikari doesn't have PTSD or something.
>Ever since Manaka disappeared I've been taking a real liking to Chisaki.
Wow, you're slow.
She always was a cool beauty.
Complete opposite to spazzy flaky meoblob that is Manaka.
Who gives a shit about threads on /a/?
Have you seen the sales? Me neither.
half the fun from watching airing shows are the threads, for me at least
I dont really care about popularity as long as theres good discussion
Mostly one person posting the same shit about MUH TSUMUGU every time, from what I've seen.
I hope Kaname snaps.
I don't care about popularity either but when show like this sells twenty times less than generic harem with dense protagonist it means we'll be getting generic harems for the next ten years and PA Works bankrupts.
How does he do it, /a/?
Up her butt.
a better question is how do they make a supposedly 19 year old girl look anywhere from 16 to 32 over 2 episodes
It's the clothes.
I've always thought Sayu was gonna have that chilidish crush on Hikari. They constantly teased each other and fought.
KanamexTrashcan girl: 1
Most popular fanart girl: Manaka
Most popular fanart guy: Hikari
Most popular fanart couple: Chisaki and Tsumugu
Picture of the thread: "You sank into the sea: I'm waiting for you."
>a better question is how do they make a supposedly 19 year old girl look anywhere from 16 to 32 over 14 episodes
1. Write a retard.
2. Hire HanaKana to voice her
Fuck off, hater
The writing of this anime is better than normal.
Someone should shop it on him. I'll start fapping if he wears a lab coat and glasses.
Her design is the cutest.
but that's not Miuna
>Picture of the thread: "You sank into the sea: I'm waiting for you."
psycho please come back :__;
i need more suffering
Her hair is complete tryhard shit-tier. Look at Chisaki and Manaka for good design: simple but quirky.
What if he comes back wearing this?
>implying you wouldn't want it
After waking up and seeing that he got NTR'd Kaname loses is mind begin selling his himself to old, fat men.
Want to tenderly hold him and protect him of his heartache?
He still looks like a girl, even wearing those clothes.
>Her hair is complete tryhard shit-tier.
Well that's because you have shit tastes
It's the pendant Miuna wanted in an early episode
I want to protect Tsumugu.
>second cour will be more like a fairy tale
About time, since the entire show was marketed as a fairy tale love story since before it aired.
Her hair was cuter when she was young. As adult she looks like a fucking Mary Sue character trying to be unique and mature but fails because she looks awkward. It ruined her.
Manaka is the sleeping beauty underneath the sea.
I guess this confirms that Manaka will end up waking up.
>Tsumugu fishes Manaka out of the ocean with his net A THIRD TIME
>he then proceeds to pleasure himself with all his fish
Nope. She's cuter than she was before. I barely seen any complain about her new look.
Tsugumu wouldn't abuse a retard like that
Tsumugu x Fish knee will be my OTP until I die. Who cares about Manaka or Chisaki.
>Encoded by Kens
>fucking watermark on anime
>not watching Underwater-Vivid release
The fuck you doing, new friend ?
does Ena protect from Hypothermia?
I didn't get this scene
Hikari, Manaka both jump in after Akari and she doesn't react at all
Then that landfag falls in and she loses her shit
>what is having ena
I know he cant breath but it just seems off because Chisaki reacts to nothing else thats going on but him
Just a lazy way to set them up
It'll probably pick up a bit.
I'm scared, Okada is going to torment for this 2nd half.
I want to leave the Okada wild ride.
Just bring back Manaka and let everything be cool again ;_;
There are no breaks on the suffering train
It's okay, everyone will be happy in the end.
Japan consider effeminate guys to be the most ideal, for japan's standards he's the most good-looking but that means nothing because he's the biggest loser, even being loyal and straight foward.
The OTP if you believe those pictures glyphs of the Sea God with a long black-haired girl from the surface.
Tsumugu looks effeminate too and nippon clearly loves him especially the fangirls. He's not a loser though maybe for now but he'll get Chisaki eventually.
tl;dr Kaname is a fucking loser and we should laugh at him.
>Just bring back Manaka
Not until last episode, bitch.
See you guys Thursday!
When did people start caring about this show all of a sudden? Has it gotten better than the first 10 episode?
It was always good.
It has gotten better, but it's not like it was bad in the first place. I also enjoy the timeskip quite a bit and I assume other people do too.
The only character you can comment on definitively so far is Tsumugu, because the rest got sidelined pre-timeskip and Miuna's still filling out her new role post-timeskip. But yes, Tsumugu is definitely good, and it looks like Sayu will remain nothing more than a comedy character for the rest of the series.
>and it looks like Sayu will remain nothing more than a comedy character for the rest of the series.
I don't think so. Looks like next episode will focus on her.
I guess people picked it up during the Christmas break.
>looks like Sayu will remain nothing more than a comedy character for the rest of the series
What? She's entering the suffering train now that Kaname is back.
Tsumugu is probably the most perceptive character of the series, even if he doesn't show it by words or by facial expressions. One of the most understanding too, judging by his interactions with Chisaki post-timeskip and the way he encourages her to grow instead of staying in an unchanging past. He might not be a likable character in your books, but he's a great character all the same. Surely you, and the rest of the Tsumugu haters out there, would agree to that?
>looks like Sayu will remain nothing more than a comedy character for the rest of the series
What? She's entering the suffering train now that Kaname is her age.
Probably just symbolic of the connection between people of the sea and people of the land. Will have to watch and see what happens to the pillars as the plot progresses, though.
too well foreshadowed damn
So what are the chances of Hikari being directly related to the Sea God?
Why does everyone think he's directly related to the sea god in the first place?
I guess it's because of the scene where Uroko tried to prevent them from leaving the Sea village.
So does that mean he's going to get a bad job and be poor like those fishermen?
THE PROTECTOR OF SMILES
Did Kaname ever get a proper explanation for his back story besides family trouble? I wonder if we will see more of his side.
We know next to nothing about Kaname's family.
Miuna going to win the Hikarib Owl
So have mods been deleting the threads marked with the series name in the OP? I've noticed those disappearing yet the unmarked ones are left alone. It's really annoying.
Why would they do that?
I think they just got pruned for inactivitu
Chisaki got dis
why is chisaki so slutty
I love her.
Will he fuse with the slug, becoming Seasslugfishboy?
What was it Manaka said to the red-bellied sea slug pre-timeskip?
I'm trying to remember but can't recall - was it even said aloud, did she even say anything?
Wasn't shown, all she said was ne~
Who Dolicon here?
Chisaki is out of the running and has to settle for the shitty consolation prize
But there aren't any dolis in the show anymore ;_;
Why are you such a shit
But there is a little shota...
Not as much as i do
I'll fight you.
You, me, the local park, tonight. Winner gets to hold hands with Miuna.
Hikari is going to hold Miuna's hand next ep
It'll make her smile right?
She makes me get diabeetus
SO how will Minegashi react to his sempai who is repeating the year?
>They see how close Miuna and Hikari are
>He and his buddies will gang up against Hikari
>Miuna will try to protect Hikari
>She gets hit and falls
>Shit hits the fan
>Hikari is raging but can't do shit
>Kaname appears and knifes them all down
this thread still lives?
coming of age party when? I want to see Hikari feel so left out while others are having a blast talking about being a grown up and shit.
Does Ena protect from Hypothermia? It seems like sea people are very resilient to cold.
At some point Hikari is going to tell him he knows how he feels, liking a girl who likes someone else. Then they find out who she likes and shit hits the fan.
How else would Akari and Hikari have no problems going under water when it's that cold?
He'll become friends
He'll find out about Miuna's love for Hikari
Shit will hit the fan
I think for Miuna its either get with Hikari or ends up alone.
Hikari helping Minegashi man up for Miuna
I hope next episode isn't just middle school drama
Episode of Hikari trying to help Minegashi win Miunas heart when?
Kaname is coming back so prepare your womb, buddy.
Minegashi guy will totally become his bro. He'll be like his new Kaname only this time Hikari won't be pissed at him because he's not gonna steal his waifu.
last episode will have Manaka narrating this
>middle school drama
But that's the best part of the show
I couldn't stomach that.
I'd drop the show actually.
Fuck you that would break poor Miuna's heart
Why is Miuna drowning
After getting jealous, Minegashi and his cronies do it
Fuck that shit. I'll drop it.
I'd imagine it to be a more lighthearted episode than drama, though.
What are the chances that Hikari has mastered the art of befriending that he'll win over his new classmates in a heartbeat
Is it just me or is the PV a massive spoiler
especially Manaka's lines
>Hikari introduces himself to the class by being such a huge cunt
>Hikari introduces himself to the class by being friendly and mature as fuck
Truly the protector of smiles
the preview has him telling them to respect their sempai
Hopefully high. I don't want him to have to go through that crap again.
It's not like he demanded it from them
which winter uniform will Hii wear? Land or Sea
Any guesses as to what's going to happen here
Why is she sad? Why are her hands dirty?
Minegashi and his bros would totally try to screw him but being the protector of smiles as fuck, he'll just shrug it off and become bro as fuck.
anyone have the full version of Nagi by Ray?
Minegashi talked shit about her husbando so she punched him.
Land, isn't it supposed to be cold?
Actually I wouldn't be surprised, it seems like she punched someone with how those fingers look.
the sea uniform has a winter version too. You only see it in pictures and Akari flashbacks
Oh right. But he doesn't have access to Shioshiosho/w.e and I doubt that Akari has a male version of the Sea Uniform
Chisaki and Tsumugu went to the same highschool as Akari?
I wonder why didn't use this as the OP?
so many unused scenes
>Akari is still the worst girl
You spelled Miuna wrong
>Fragments of light sway on the water's surface...
>These are my newborn feelings.
>I want to show them to you, so just wait...
>until the sea is calm.
>Just wait a little longer.
>Beyond the sea, you'll find a whole other world.
>At first, it'll probably seem a little scary...
>a bit painful...
>and slightly confusing.
>You may cry,
>but you'll long for it so much it'll hurt.
>You won't know what to do.
>I'm going to go swimming.
>I'm going to swim straight ahead,
>right toward you.
>I want to walk alongside you
>in this season brimming with light.
I can read so much into this, it's not even funny.
Das it mane, Manaka wins, Miuna loses
I don't know man.
>but you'll long for it so much it'll hurt.
>You won't know what to do.
Sounds like love with a landfag to me.
I don't even know anymore man. They were going so hard for the Japanese Little Mermaid. Yet we find ourselves in this state now.
Daily reminder that being Kaname means eternal suffering
remember Akari's seiyuu playing another woman with a halfbreed baby?
I don't understand what this is talking about
she wakes up after a prolonged sleep and finds that everyone is dead and suddenly, we see a montage of the happy days in her childhood life
then this starts playing
ITSUDEMO SAGASHITE IRU YO
Do the sea people ever need to drink? Do they drink through the Ena?
Fuck those people
He could have packed it with his other stuff.
Sayu is going to make Miuna cry
which paper plane coresponds to who?
The one completely isolated and alone on the far left is Kaname
Blue in the lead is Hikari.
White Leader- Hikari
Brown #2- Tsumugu
Yellow #3- Sayu
Red #4 - Miuna
Purple #5 - Chisaki
Green #6 - Kaname
Blue #7 - Manaka
but why is the one with Manaka pink?
I dunno, it looks kinda Blueish- Purplish for me
Maybe I'm just blind.
I thought I was the only one I liked Tsumugu. Hikari's still my favorite, but he's extremely subtle and well done stoic character with his fair share of flaws (the way he avoids his family is one, in general, it seems he's avoiding issues and problems building walls between them when things get hard).
I like that.
Everyone seafag is related to the seagod. It's specifically said in the goddamn show.
Uroko only said Hikari and Akari are the High Priest's children. He made a promise with him and agreed to release them after he accepted they left. This teaches you just how much attention you pay.
Looks pink or white to me.
Chisaki was the little mermaid who saved Tsumugu from drowning though.
This pretty much proves you are an idiot. Nor only did you not read what we wrote but also managed to reply with something none of us requested.
It's obvious everyone is related to the sea God in the first place and I asked what everyone thought about the possibility of Hikari being directly related to him. Seriously, your display of words and total misunderstand of the question shows how much of a retard you are.
Also, pay more attention dumbfuck, Uroko stopped because Hikari's father told him to. It's stupid to think he would do something that goes against his wishes if he really wanted to protect them because of a "promise" (that by the way is also just you writing bullshit because it was never mentioned nor displayed in the anime) Uroko made with his father.
I suggest you carefully read what I wrote before attempting to reply to me, retard.
I know its not going to be accurate because of other factors like lighting and shading but for a general idea of their colors
Airplane #1: R 210 G 212 B 210, Greyish
#2: R 194 G 164 B 154, Brownish
#3: R 212 G 201 B 169, Yellowish
#4: R 221 G 190 B 196, Pinkish
#5: R 201 G 185 B 211, Purplish
#6: R 193 G 203 B 202, Greenish/Slate
#7: R 162 G 164 B 189, Bluish
Manaka's Plane prior: R 210 G 194 B 197, Pinkish
Manaka's plane seems to be more simliar Plane #4 rather than Plane #7
Obviously #1 and the Purple one are Chisaki and Hikari
Light Blue: Kaname
Dark blue: Minegashi
Why do you keep saying that, I don't get it.
That's the first time I said it and because I have a hard time believing Manaka will be back for good.
Hikari, Tsumugu, Manaka, Kaname, Chisaki, Miuna, Sayu
I just want to hold hand's with Miuna.
Is it too much to ask for her happiness?
I want to hug Akira.
The last frame of the ED didn't have the blue plane. Seems like symbolizing someone would be too late that he/she is out of the picture.
I wonder why Miuna is crying in preview
Sounds like she got either in a fight with Sayu or her classmates considering the status of her fingers in the preview
Probably, I still think Manaka will stay permanently
See the 3rd picture in >>100568262
>Uroko x Miuna
People... MASTURBATE to that!?!
Why is Miuna such a cutie
No, no. Why is Sayu such a cutie?
Miuna the best!
See you guys Thursday
Because she is a strong independent woman who don't need no man.
