So I just finished this and I honestly do not understand why there is such a fuzz over it. IMO it was fairly decent but insanely overrated, please someone tell me why is this so popular?
It's the greatest love story of all time.
Because people liked it more than you did.
When it comes to romance anime, 'fairly decent' is synonymous with greatest love story ever told.
first proper answer
And another thing I hate about the "love stories" I have watched so far is that they have way to much focus on subtle romance between the characters and waaay to little on the actual development of the relationship as most anime couples have their first kiss in the last episodes.
You could always watch clannad....
>op trying to act like a tough guy
>implying he didn;t cry bitch nigger tears
>Implying I haven't watched Clannad
Although that might be the reason everything else pales in comparison
And here I thought you had good taste at first. You really got me.
Also if you want to watch a good romance anime with actual developement watch Nana.
>first kiss in the last episodes
Try TADA BANRI, or any other series not set in high school.
Though honestly I forgot if we've seen them kiss, but recent episodes imply they definitely have already.
>Not liking clannad
You must indeed be a special kind of faggot. Honestly what's not to like about it?
Generic and boring characters especially Nagisa and Tomoya, and that best friend of Tomoya was annoying. I also don't like that art style very much. But since I dropped it somewhere around Ep07 I can't say much about the story.
>being able to crop
>dropped it somewhere around Ep07
there's your problem
>Recommending Nana to anyone
Not even to my worst enemy
I gotcha, anon.
All that needed to be said.
>mfw deez niggas don't know bout Lovely Complex.
it's set in high school, and the main couple do in fact become a couple about 2/3 of the way through, and then they do relationship stuff after that. Also it's fucking hilarious and adorable. It's better than Toradora.
Not the same guy, so I haven't seen it, care to elaborate?
I doubt the later episodes would have changed anything for me. In love stories you just need to like the characters, or at least find them interesting.
What's not to like about the second best love story ever told?
Whatch it, experience it, form your own opinion.
We seem to have slightly different opinions here but the reason I enjoyed Clannad was the story.
But I will admit this, it was though to get through sometimes but the ending and immense feels that came later on made it all worth it.
I still listen to Dango Daikazoku.
Yea, I thought it was grossly overrated as well. Was the first, and also the last, show that I watched because /a seemed to like it.
I fucking hated Taiga, was such a bitch, she did not deserve to win at all.
Also it was the show that finally made me sick of Kugmiya Rie's voice.
>I fucking hated Taiga
>sick of Kugmiya Rie's voice
>Watching a show because of /a/
Get a load of this faggot.
Not OP, but I have some complaints about Toradora too. I just finished it a few days ago. I loved all the characters and the development. Everything lived up to "greatest love story ever told" until the last two or three episodes. It just didn't feel very satisfying for how good it was thus far. One thing that bothered me the most was weren't they going to run away? Instead they just visited his grandparents for a few days. Building all that up getting all their friends' approval only to bail was very disappointing.
Another thing that bugged me, where did she disappear off to for more than a year and why? To find herself? To me that felt like they were trying to force in some unnecessary last minute SUFFERING.
Mah nigga also, amin should have won
Are you perhaps the same guy that currently has the SnK thread up? Because you write very similiar and you both seem to be faggots.
Im not really a fan of romance but wasnt Oreimo the greatest?
>Oreimo the greatest?
Oh shit nigga, what are you saying?
Because in japan it is law that all anime that is somewhat promising has to have a shitty ending.
It's shit though.
>she disappear off to for more than a year and why? To find herself? To me that felt like they were trying to force in some unnecessary last minute SUFFERING.
Fucking this holy shit that pissed me off to no end, I actually like the series a lot until the ending. We were about to get married oh you know what wait I'm going to finish my last year of highschool with my mom and step dad for no reason.
Because of that fucking song.
>Lost my pieces.
Go watch Golden Time, it's even better.
I just finished marathoning it over the break also, I though it was better in every way than Golden Time right now, character development and relationship building was entertaining and felt meaningful. I cant really say the same for GT.
I personally think that the writers did this on purpose. Edgy teens being edgy want to "find themselves" and shit, so the writer put that in to try and relate with the teens watching the anime.
Not a bad decision, but could of been better. I honestly didn't care about the ending, as long as Taiga and Ryuuji were together at the end I was happy.
They want to get married right with everyone approval
Taiga realises she needs to go fix things with her mother first before anything can happen
So she leaves to go live with her
You fucking missed the entire point of the last arc. She went decided to not run away and face her problems even though that means she will need to live with her family rather than Ryuuji. It's about taking responsible, to repair a broken family, and that process needs not only Taiga's parents but also Taiga herself.
Also its a very Asian-Family thing. I being an asian experienced the same kind of thing. Its hard and sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do to make sure the family doesn't break apart. Even though it might not be your fault and people keep blaming you, you just gotta bite the bullet and keep your family happy.
OVA was nice
>Too stupid to get the point
btw. a reason why ToraDora is great, is that the male lead isn't a looser faggot who can't decide anything
