Have we talked about this yet?
Call me a pretentious dickwad hipster, but I'm hyped as fuck. Yuasa's a breath of fresh air whenever he manages to convince a studio (or The Public) to actually pay him to do something.
Has anyone here read the manga? Impressions?
And the news link:
There was one thread at least and someone dumped the first volume as well.
The manga's good. One of my favourites actually. Looking forward to see what Yuasa does with it.
I read the manga immidietly after seeing the PV on stream and I#m pretty hyped. It's fairly short with just 5 volumes, but if they can stick to what little art they show in the PV, this could be a really strong show. The main cast also seems to be very fitting to the characters.
I'm pretty excited to hear the grandmother though, or Joe Butterfly. I hope they can carry over the style and atmosphere from the manga well with their voices and the BGM.
I hope that song will be in the show.
Why did they decide to make a TV anime of this moderately old manga?
I was worried he might doing something off the radar after the kickstater but I'm glad he's not.
I don't know the original material but I'll definitely watch it.
Yuasa and Taiyou Matsumoto are like soul brothers. I imagine one or the other wanted to do it.
Those voices in the PV sound somewhat familiar.
Color me hyped
This is the guy that brought us Kaiba, Tatami Galaxy, Mind Game, AND Kemonzune. Pretty much a perfect track record so far.
>noitamina + Yuasa
Well now I'll have to hold off on killing myself
It's Yuasa adapting Matsumoto.
How the fuck can it go wrong?
Budgets, schedules, politics. The general bullshit.
Know any manga quite like this?
The only sports related manga I could compare to the quality and uniqueness of this would be REAL, altough I haven't read ZERO by Matsumoto yet.
Why is the only Yuasa show to get a BD The Tatami Galaxy? I want to see Kemonozune's sketchy vision in HD.
I like Noririn. I would also put Jiro Taniguchi's Summit of the Gods up there.
I'd take a Kaiba BR too. Anything.
Man, Spring is going to be the best season in years.
I HATE hipsters and I have a lot of things to say about them, so tough luck OP.
This gives me a good excuse to finally read Ping Pong.
Hana Otoko anime when?
What the fuck is happening with Tatsunoko? They've barely made anything since Komugi-chan, still cashing on their 70's hits. But now in a short time they have produced Gatchaman Crowds, Muromi, and now this.
Why would they blow their money on sakuga animators and crazy directors? Did they mistakenly hire a guy who actually love anime to greenlight their new shows?
It's a mystery.
We had a 100-post thread a couple of days ago.
Don't forget Yozakura Quartet and WUG.
Crowds was made for the promotion of a separate Gatchaman movie, I think. But yeah, it looks like they finally realized they can't milk the classics forever. I'm glad that they're going for the creative approach instead of trying to play it safe.
Lets start uselessly hoping for Tatsunoko to adapt Biscuit Hammer instead of the popular choice of Trigger since they don't animate
best season since forever
It will never be as good as this.
If that were made today, Momotarou would be BR-only.
